Chapter 34

(In Scott's point a view)

As soon as Virgil called me to tell me about Lisa, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. We thought that she had miscarried a few months ago, once I knew that were more or less clearing up I walked over to Ambulance 61 to let them know that I needed a ride.

"Is everything okay Scott? You look as if you are going to faint there. what's going on?" asked Brett

"My brother just called me to let me know that my girlfriend is about to give birth and I really need to get there, Is there any chance you can drop me there?"

"Okay just jump in with us and we will take you in"

"Brett what are you doing? We can't just" said Foster

"Please I really need to get there" I said while trying not to panic. By now I was a nervous and I am so glad Virgil called me to tell me this at the end of the mission. Don't know what I would have done if he had called during the mission. I don't know how Dad is going to take the news to having an 8th Grandchild now.

"Okay jump in the front with me while foster takes care of out patient, we will get you there I promise" said Brett

It didn't take long to arrive at the hospital, once I did arrive Virgil had met me outside and he looked as if he had something on his mind. I could always tell when something is wrong especially with Virgil. "Are you okay?"

"I am just so worried about Jo, she got out of the shower this morning and found a small lump. We were on our way here to get it checked out, when we heard Lisa."

"Is Jo in there with Lisa now? "while I looked at my niece who is a sleep in her car seat.

"Yeah she is, you need to get in there bro because your life is on the line here believe it or not." Said Virgil as we made our way back into the hospital, once we had got back in Virgil took me to see Lisa. I felt that all of a sudden I didn't want to go in there. But Virgil put his hand on my shoulder and told me that I could do this. When I arrived Jo came out, "Have I missed anything? By this time I was shaking.

"Nope you made it just in time, Lisa is on her very last push. So good luck in there" said Jo who pulled me into a hug. When I walked in Lisa called me over and got me by the scoff of the neck.

"You did this to me, you are so lucky making it here on time, AH AH AH."

"Okay Lisa you are on the very last push and baby will be here" said Maggie. Once Lisa the last push our baby had arrived, at this point I was completely sweating from doing the rescue and seeing this take place. Virgil was right when he told me that seeing your child being born is the best feeling in the world. While our baby was being checked out Lisa didn't stop bleeding. We were told that not all her placenta had come away.

"Scott are you okay you look shell shocked there?" asked Jo while Virgil put a hand on my shoulder for support.

"We have a little boy but Lisa is bleeding out, I really don't want to lose her in fact I had planned on asking her to marry me." While Jo was with me Virgil had gone to get me a strong coffee, it didn't take long for Virgil to come back with the coffee.

"Here you go bro and take it easy, you will both get through this." Said Virgil just the doctor came out of the room and I had this awful feeling coming over me.

"Mr Tracy good news we managed to control the bleeding and Lisa seems comfortable now, she will need to go for a operation just so that we can check that we can remove the rest of her placenta." Said the doctor

"What about our baby boy?"

"He is fine and is 5 pounds and 6lbs, would you like to see him?"

I looked at my brother and his wife, I was in two minds here, I wanted to make sure that Lisa is okay or going to meet my son.

"Scott why don't you go and meet your son and we will stay with Lisa?" said Virgil, I know my younger brother is trying to support me and I can't thank him enough for that. If I am honest we have always been there for each other our whole lives and this isn't any different.

"I just want to stay with Lisa, I Just can't leave her now."

"Okay Daddy why don't you hold your little boy and you can still stay with Lisa until she goes down for her operation." Asked Maggie with a smile while handing Scott his baby boy.

By now Virgil had left with Jo to get her checked out so I decided to give Dad a call to let him know that he had another grandson. "Scott Tracy calling Jeff Tracy come In Dad."

"Hey son Gordon told that you had to drop everything last minute during the clean up. What happened?"

"remember a few weeks ago Lisa left the island?"

"Yes"

"It turned out that she was still expecting and Virgil called me to let me know that Lisa had gone into labour, I got there in time and we have a lovely baby boy now. I'm still taking all this in and Lisa needs to for a operation.

"Okay Scott, I hate to break this to you but I really could do with you or Virgil back at base to cover for rescues. I can't expect Gordon or Alan to cover for you both. I know that you both don't want to leave right now with what is going on." Said Jeff

"Can you let me see If I can get TB1 put somewhere first, if I can get her stored then I can get to missions from where I am. Dad I am not refusing to come back home but I need a bit of time. I will talk it over with Virgil and see what we can come up with, I'm sure we can work something out." I said to Dad I knew that he would understand.

"No problem son just have a word with Virgil and let me know what you are doing and Scott."

"Yes Dad"

"Coagulations what did you have?"

"We have a son Dad and he is perfect which means that LeeAnn has a little brother. How is she by the way?"

"She is fine Scott, Tin-Tin has her for a few hours and Gordon is taking her for swimming later. We are taking great care of her son."

"Thanks Dad, I will have a chat with Virgil to see what we can do to help you out"

"Okay son I will let you go so you can spend some time with your baby boy and Lisa. Scott you are a good Dad to LeeAnn and it will be the same with this little one. You know I am so proud of all of you. Good luck son and I will talk to you soon Jeff Tracy out."

So when Dad went off the air, Lisa had decided to come round and she looked round at me to see that I was holding our son in my arms.

"Hey Scott have you been here the whole time and can I hold my baby?"

"Off course you can Lisa, he is perfect and I wanted to wait on you waking up before we choose a name for this little one." I said as I handed our little boy over to his mother. Just then Lisa looks at him and says

"Why don't we call him Ben Gordon Tracy."
