Title: Stay Away
Characters/Pairing: No-Face
A/N: This takes place before Zeniba takes No-Face in.
Disclaimer: I don't own Spirited Away.
No one knows where No-Face came from. He just emerges from the ether, as insubstantial as air, with no voice of his own, an intense loneliness and an even more intense emptiness to fill. No one really cares, either. They don't want No-Face to stick around long enough for them to figure him out; they just want him to leave.
So No-Face leaves, and is never able to stay anywhere for too long.
All the while, that small voice at the back that is his mind wonders where all the people have gone. He wonders why no one will talk to him, why none of the children will come and play with him. He's not going to hurt them; really. He just wants someone to pay attention to him. He'll do anything to get them to pay attention to him.
Is it really so bad to want to be loved? Is it really so bad to want to have a friend?
Apparently yes, if you're No-Face.
("Stay away!" they all scream. "Stay away!"
The village is empty the next morning, and No-Face wonders where they have gone. At the same time, there is such an ache in his belly…)
