Chapter 5: Snell Family
(Meanwhile, dinner…)
At the dinner table tonight, Little Carrie's grandmother: Eleanor, her grandfather: Edward and her aunt: Sierra, the Snell family are dining on meatloaf, Kraft macaroni and cheese, Bird's Eye mixed vegetables, and French's instant mashed potatoes.
"Believe me, Isabelle, you're better off without having to worry about all the aggravation and headaches of playing at that dance." Edward replied.
As Little Carrie nodded no.
"He's absolutely right, Carrie. The last thing you need is headaches." Sierra replied, her niece.
Edward saw the TV and he was laughing. Sierra saw her father and turned her head to the TV. They were both laughing.
As Sue turned to them.
"Guys, we're going to have to eat this cake by ourselves. Your father didn't make parole again." Sue replied.
As Sue was signed and sat in a chair.
"I think it would be nice if you all dropped him a line." Sue replied.
"Daddy." Little Carrie replied.
"He's your boyfriend, Sue." Sierra replied.
"Yeah. I think it's a major embarrassment, having Tommy dead." Eleanor replied.
"I make mistakes with Chris. Chris and Billy killed Tommy." Sue replied.
"He's your father, Carrie." Sierra replied.
"Yeah." Little Carrie replied.
As Sierra checks the watch.
"God damn it. I'm late." Sierra replied, as she stood up and ran.
"Sierra," Eleanor replied, as Sierra turned to her mother. "watch your mouth! You come here and kiss your mother before you go. Come here."
"Come on, Mom. Make it fast. I'll miss my car." Sierra replied, as she wiped her mouth and hurried off. "See you later, Pop."
Edward looked up at her second daughter and exclaimed.
"Time to change that oil. See you later, Carrie." Sierra replied.
"See you later, Aunt Sierra." Little Carrie replied.
Edward laughed and turned to her granddaughter.
"Hey, Isabelle. I'm not your answering service. While you were outside pouting over the car, Jordan Conner called you twice." Eleanor replied, her granddaughter.
Little Carrie looked at her watch.
"I don't like him, Carrie." Sue replied, as Little Carrie turned to her mother. "Any boy who calls up a girl is just asking for trouble."
"Oh, sweetheart, there's nothing wrong with calling a girl." Eleanor replied.
"I think it's terrible. Girls chasing boys. When I was your age, I never chased a boy or called a boy or sat in a parked car with a boy." Sue replied.
Eleanor rolls her eyes. She's heard this a million times.
"Then how am I supposed to ever meet anybody?" Eleanor asked in concern.
"Well, it'll just happen. Like the way I met Tommy." Sue replied.
"That was so stupid." Eleanor replied.
"Dad hit Tommy." Sue replied.
"It was meant to be." Eleanor replied.
As Sue stood up.
"Anyway, if Dad hadn't hit him, then none of you would have been born." Eleanor replied.
"Yeah, well." Sue replied, as she walked. "I still don't understand what Dad was doing in the middle of the street."
"What was it, Edward? Bird-watching?" Eleanor asked in concern, as she turned to her husband.
"What, Eleanor? What?" Edward asked in concern, as he absorbed in his work and turned to his wife.
"Anyway, you, Mom, and Sierra met Tommy at the house and brought him into the house." Sue replied, as she walked. "He seemed so helpless," Sue replied, as she sat in a chair. "like a little lost puppy, and my heart just went out to him."
Edward looked down and absorbed in his work.
"Yeah, Sue, we know. You've told us this story a million times." Eleanor replied.
As Little Carrie turned to her mother and grandmother.
"You felt sorry for him, so you decided to go with him to the Fish Under the Sea dance." Eleanor replied, her first daughter.
"No. It was the Prom dance. Tommy first dates Carrie White. I'll never forget it. It was the night of that terrible thunderstorm, remember, Tommy." Sue replied, as she turned her head to the photographer to her lost boyfriend Tommy.
Edward looked at indistinct chatter on TV.
"Your father kissed me for the very first time on that swimming pool. It was then that I realized that I was going to spend the rest of my life with him." Sue replied.
Edward was laughing at the TV and turned to them. Little Carrie and her grandmother, Eleanor exchange a look and shake their heads.
(In Little Carrie's bedroom…)
At Little Carrie's bedroom, she changed into more comfortable attire and got started on her homework straight away and had it all finished after about fifty minutes. Then he set up her laptop and got to work on researching info about Carrie. What he found, or rather didn't find, surprised her; she had no on-line accounts on any social media platforms at all. However, by looking at the social media accounts of other people who lived in Chamberlain, Little Carrie was able to find quite a bit of info about Carrie's mother: Margaret White.
"Margaret White." Little Carrie replied.
According to all of them, Margaret White was a strong religious obsessed fanatic who always seemed to dress in black witch-like clothes and who always seemed to claim that everything, even down to the smallest of things, was a sin and that people would burn in hell for the simplest of things. She would even quote lines from the Bible incorrectly, or even sometimes twist religious sayings and make up her own ridiculous religious quotes, to make it seem as though she was following the Bible's words.
However, Little Carrie could tell from her godmother Carrie earlier that day that she was nothing like her mother and she was bullied for that. Yet at the same time, deep down in the pit of his stomach he had a very uneasy feeling that there was much more to Carrie's relationship with her mother than met the eye. He also felt that Margaret was amongst those people in the world who sometimes just took religious fanaticism way too far.
Then Little Carrie searched for information on the bullies known in Ewen High as the "Mortimer Snerds", and here he had a lot more luck. Their social media accounts were standard, as it would be for most other people with online accounts; selfies of themselves and with friends, short videos, statuses about their relationships and so on. But strangely, and to Little Carrie's slight surprise, the accounts of her mother Sue hadn't been updated in some time; what she found wasn't particularly interesting. In fact, there were no mean or questionable comments about anyone, either students or teachers, on their accounts at all.
However, Chris Hargensen's accounts were what Little Carrie was really interested in looking at, and here he struck a gold mine; from looking over those social media accounts, he could see Chris had been Carrie's main bully since they first started in middle school, and Chris seemed to enjoy harassing and bullying Carrie so much that she often posted comments, photos and videos about it on her social media accounts. Then Little Carrie found one comment from Chris on her Facebook account posted a little earlier that day saying she'd been suspended from school for a week for an incident that happened the previous Friday, and she claimed strongly that she hadn't done anything wrong to begin with.
"Chris Hargensen." Little Carrie replied, while she rolled his eyes. It was clear to him that Chris Hargensen was the type of sadistic, cruel school bully who would never take any responsibility for her actions at all and would never see any wrong in anything she did to anyone else, even if it got near to the point of seriously hurting another person. She was the sort of person Little Carrie needed to stay at least two steps ahead of all the time if he was to win against her.
Doing a little more digging into Chris's accounts, he suddenly found a link to a YouTube video and saw Carrie's name in the link. Curious, and now more than a little anxious, and with that familiar feeling of butterflies churning in the stomach starting to develop, Little Carrie clicked on the link.
"Plug it up! Plug it up! Plug it up! Plug it up! Plug it up!"
When the video started playing, Little Carrie stared in mute horror for a minute or so as she watched Carrie, wrapped up only in a towel which was just barely covering her, struggling on the floor of the school's female changing room shower stalls and pleading for help thinking that she was bleeding to death especially considering that there was some blood on the wet floor of the shower stall as well as some on the towel, when she was in fact just having her very first period. But the other girls in the changing room, who were behind the camera and thus couldn't be seen, all just chanted mockingly at her, and threw tampons and sanitary napkins at her all the while until the video suddenly ended as the image turned away from Carrie in a blur.
Little Carrie sat in complete and utter shock at what he'd just seen; he was utterly appalled how people could just do something like that to someone who needed help and all they got was to be bullied in return in such a heinous manner. She stood up and walked around for a few moments to calm down, but he couldn't help feeling a great deal of rage towards the bullies and a great deal of sympathy for Carrie.
"Those stupid fucking bitches! What the hell is wrong with them?! Why do they even do it in the first place?! To bully someone who's never done anything to them! And in such a disgraceful, cowardly manner like that!" Little Carrie replied, trying to let the rage out after what she'd seen.
After a few minutes, she went back to work; after making a copy of the video, she set about gathering up more evidence of the Snerds bullying, which was basically anything and everything that she could find out about them. The intention: to use everything he gathered as blackmail against the Snerds whenever the chance arrived.
By past half five, with plenty of evidence gathered on most of the Snerds and with it all securely stored away on her laptop, iPad and smartphone, as well as having answered and responded to any emails that she received from home.
Little Carrie watched "Chris and Billy prank at Carrie" and had 130,709 views, as Prom night commenced, everyone had the time of their lives, the students and teachers were all having the time of their lives, even her godmother Carrie & her father Tommy, who danced, and even won as King & Queen of the Prom… but after receiving a text from Chris, about her prank, her mother Sue quickly rushed to the school, in an attempt to warn Carrie & Tommy, and prevent the prank, only for Miss Desjardin, to push her mother Sue out of the hall, believing she was up to something…
As Carrie & Tommy were crowned on the stage, Chris & Billy pulled the bucket of cold pigs' blood, as the blood fell, and splattered all over Carrie…
"WHAT THE HELL?" Tommy yelled on video in 2013.
As Little Carrie was shocked.
After their sadistic success, Chris's best friend Tina Blake, replayed the video, causing the whole hall to laugh at Carrie… but those choices and actions, along with Chris and Billy accidently killing Tommy in the process of their prank, was the final nail on all their coffins…
"Why everyone laugh at Auntie Carrie. Stupid." Little Carrie replied.
Little Carrie ate from a bowl of popcorn while she watched Carrie on a laptop It was titled "Carrie White kill Everyone" and had 194,807 views.
Carrie unleashed her secret powers, through a shockwave or rage, blasting everyone across the hall, killing Chris & Sue's friend Heather Shyres, via smashing her into the fire escape doors, face first… the school principal Henry Morton tried to keep the peace amongst the students.
"DON'T PANIC!" Morton yelled on video in 2013.
Carrie then continued to pick off every single student and teacher who wronged her, one by one, even those who hadn't really done anything wrong to her, including Freddy Holt, who recorded Carrie, just before she fatally smashed a table into him, before setting off the fire sprinklers, almost flooding the hall floors… as several tried to escape to the fire exits, that Carrie had closed and locked with her powers, The Watson Twins Nicki & Lizzy, tried to get to the doors, only for Carrie to use her powers to push them over to the floor, allowing everyone else to trample the twins to death, in a desperate plea to escape…
After Carrie picked off more of her former tormentors, Carrie broke some of the stage lighting cables, causing sparks from the cables to trigger a fire, which quickly spread throughout the hall. Carrie then noticed Tina being rescued by Mr. Ullman, another teacher, who tormented her, under Tina's influence… in their attempt to escape.
Mr. Ullman soon ran up and took Tina's hand.
"TINA, COME ON!" Ullman yelled on video in 2013.
Carrie used her powers to throw the burning moon prop at them, separating them, before Carrie began whipping her Tina with the electric cables, until she stood in some burning furniture, as Tina caught fire, and burned to death, as Rita, Tommy's best friend: George Dawson, & his girlfriend: Erika Gogan, all watched in horror from the sight…
As Rita turned to Carrie, Carrie used her powers, grabbing her gym teacher by the throat in a vice-like grip, before lifting her up into the air… Rita was sure Carrie was going to kill her too, before Carrie threw the cables onto the flooded floor, electrocuting several students and teachers in the process, including Ullman… But just as Rita thought Carrie was going to drop her and let her be electrocuted as well, Carrie flung her onto the stage, next to Tommy's body, before Carrie levitated and floated out of the burning school, as Rita watched in disbelief…
As Carrie landed outside the school, as it was quickly engulfed by the fires she caused, Carrie then heard the rumble of a car she recognized.
"Oh my God. Auntie Carrie, you killed everyone. Chris and Billy. I got it." Little Carrie said.
Little Carrie watched "Carrie White killed Chris Hargensen and Billy Nolan" and had 143,705 views.
Carrie eyed them, unafraid of the two bullies for the first time in her life. Chris turned toward Billy, the look of hatred upon her face told her exactly what she wanted.
"Run her down." Chris ordered slowly on video in 2013. "Kill her. Kill her, Billy. Kill her, BILLY! KILL HER!"
"SHUT UP! I got this." Billy shouted on video in 2013.
They sneered evilly as Billy hit the gas up to 90 miles.
"COME ON!" Chris yelled on video in 2013.
As she saw Chris & Billy attempting to drive away and escape from what they had made Carrie do… As Chris & Billy managed to avoid the quickly rushing police cars, after arguing and agreeing to leave town and never look back, they began driving off, until Carrie used her powers again, as she caused the road to crack & collapse in front of them, as they nearly fell in… as they turned around back the way they came, they saw Carrie standing in the road before them… Chris influenced Billy to run Carrie over, which he complied, but before they were about to hit her, Carrie's powers blocked them, crashing straight into her powers, killing Billy in the process, banging his nose fatally on the steering wheel…
"Billy? Billy?" Chris spoke on video in 2013.
Chris pulled Billy from the wheel. His face was smashed, covered in blood, and his head flopped lifelessly to the side. There was no mistake in what had just happened.
"Billy? No." Chris sobbed on video in 2013.
After coming round, and finding Billy dead, as well as Carrie still alive, Chris attempted to escape, only for Carrie to lock her inside the car, before attempting to strangle her with the seat belt… Chris managed to get free, before trying to finish Carrie herself, attempting to run her over again, only for Carrie to lift the car off the road, and throw it into Teddy's Gas Station behind her, as Chris's head went face first into the windscreen, getting stuck in the process… As Carrie walked over to her, Chris tried to beg for help from Carrie, but was too injured, as her face was pierced from the glass of the windscreen, and bleeding to death, until she stopped functioning… But despite seeing her arch nemesis die before her, Carrie just walked away, before she caused a nearby power cable to break, and crash down on to the leaking car, before the car, and the gas station exploded into flames, as Carrie walked away…
"Oh, girl." Little Carrie replied.
Little Carrie ate from 7Up while she watched "Carrie kills her mother Margaret" and had 345,601 views.
"Mama, please." Carrie begged while crawling away in painon video in 2013. "No, Mama. Mama, please."
"This isn't your fault, Carrie. It's mine." Margaret said as she sauntered closer to her child on video in 2013.
"Mommy, this isn't right." Carrie shouted on video in 2013.
"You know the devil never dies. He keeps coming back. You've got to keep killing him. Over and over again." Margaret replied on video in 2013.
"No, Mama." Carrie replied on video in 2013.
"Over and over again..." Margaret concluded, raising the knife on video in 2013.
"Mama, please. MAMA!" Carrie called out on video in 2013.
Margaret lunged for her, but the knife impaled into the floor.
"No! No, Mama." Carrie shouted on video in 2013.
Carrie didn't understand why her mother was acting this way. She knew Margaret was crazily religious but she would never harm her in that way. She dodged the knife as mother and daughter started fighting. Fighting for survival. Knife-slashing, Margaret and Carrie screaming as they fought for dominance until Margaret got on top. The knife blade got closer to Carrie's neck.
"MAMA, STOP IT!" Carrie cried out and pushed her mother up on video in 2013.
Margaret sliced her daughter's arm and Carrie screamed at the large slash. Both green eyes met, and Carrie knew one thing for sure. Her mother tried to kill her and she needed to get out. The knife rose up and a light gleamed at the blade. As the knife quickly dove, Carrie stopped the blade with her power. The blade stopped close to her face. Margaret, using her strength, tried to lower her knife down.
Then, suddenly, Carrie's telekinesis lifted Margaret up and off her body. Knives and needles flew out of their resting place and aimed at Margaret. Her green eyes widened in shock and gasped.
"Carrie." Margaret told her in a whisper, trying to calm her child down on video in 2013.
"I'm sorry." Carrie apologised, as she started to cry on video in 2013.
"CARRIE!" Margaret yelled on video in 2013.
Then, Carrie screamed and Margaret flew to the wall near the prayer closet. Sharp objects flew towards the pinned mother and the blades penetrated her body: hands, chest and stomach. Carrie lifted herself up from the ground and slowly walked to her mother. The blood was draining out of Margaret and she gasped, raising her head. Carrie pulled out all the sharp objects, knives and needles, out from her mother's hands and chest. She held her mother in her arms and gently placed Margaret on the floor. Carrie rubbed her mother's auburn hair as she shushed her dying mother.
"Okay. It's okay. It's okay." Carrie began speaking to her mother on video in 2013. "No one's going to hurt you. No one's going to hurt you."
Margaret stared blankly at her child. Her heart slowly beat and her eyelids closed, hiding her green eyes. Carrie let the tears out from her eyes and hugged the lifeless body tightly. Her mother was dead. Nothing was left for her.
"Auntie Carrie killed her mother. Poor Mrs. White." Little Carrie replied.
Little Carrie watched "Carrie White died" and had 247,905 views.
The door creaked open and a young woman entered the White house. Her blonde hair was damp and her blue eyes were watered. She was wearing her casual clothes: navy blue jacket, skinny jeans, a yellow top and a pair of blue tied shoes. She saw the mourning woman cradling her dead mother. Her heart ached for the daughter.
"Carrie?" asked a familiar female voice on video in 2013.
Carrie responded to the voice by turning her head and saw the woman. It was Sue, one of her tormentors at school and was spotted at Prom. Carrie's muscles tensed as her eyes dried.
"Let me help you, Carrie." Sue offered on video in 2013.
"Why couldn't you leave me alone?" Carrie asked while crying & angrily on video in 2013.
"I'm sorry." Sue apologized, crying on video in 2013.
Carrie looked at Sue and her right hand aimed at her. Sue's throat tightened and started to gag while gasping for air. Carrie didn't feel this sadness anymore. The only emotion she felt was anger.
"Look what you turned me into." Carrie whispered, cradling her mother's body and using her power to choke her bully on video in 2013.
"Don't hurt me, Carrie." Sue begged, managing to say through the choke on video in 2013.
"Why not? I've been hurt my whole life." Carrie replied on video in 2013.
Carrie then lets go of Sue and picks up Margaret's body in a bridal style. The house began to creak and rumbled. She continued to cry through her words, speaking to Sue on video in 2013. "I killed my mom. I want her back. I'm scared."
A large stone fell through the roof. The house rumbled as the raining stones continued to fall upon it. Carrie fell on her knees to the floor, still holding on to the body, as bricks and hailstones fell. The house was falling apart.
"We've gotta get out of here!" Sue yelled and ran towards Carrie, avoiding the falling stones as if she was in a video game. She stretched forth her hand on video in 2013. "Give me your hand. Come on!"
Carrie looked up and sensed that something was odd about Sue. There was something moving inside her body. She led her hand to Sue's stomach and heard a rapid heartbeat. It wasn't threatening, but new.
"It's a girl." Carrie gasped as she told her happily on video in 2013.
"What?" Sue enquired bewilderedly on video in 2013.
"You don't know?" Carrie asked in concern on video in 2013.
"Oh, my God." Sue gasped on video in 2013.
Sue's blue eyes watered. There was new life inside of her. Carrie, with telekinesis, lifted her up from the ground carefully.
"Get out!" Carrie cried in command on video in 2013. "GET OUT!"
Sue walked in Little Carrie's bedroom and she pushed the screen down.
"You're awake?" Sue asked in concern.
"Yeah." Little Carrie replied, as she nodded.
Sue thought that was lame.
"You popcorn and 7Up." Sue replied.
Sue sat down by her on the bed and took some popcorn.
"What kind of school, Daddy and Auntie Carrie?" Little Carrie asked in concern.
"That kind that repelled love me to Daddy. I was putting the finishing touches on the book." Sue replied.
Sue gave Little Carrie, she looked at the read, "My Name Is Susan Snell". It regarded her entire life up until the infamous prom massacre.
"That's your book?" Little Carrie asked in concern.
"Yes, I actually did write a book." Sue replied.
Little Carrie looked up at her mother.
"How's the book?" Little Carrie asked in concern.
"Oh, it'll be out later this month. I was nervous that Auntie Carrie wouldn't approve since it's basically about her life. But she took it pretty well. Daddy's even learning to walk." Sue replied.
"Yeah. So, Daddy and Auntie Carrie are dead." Little Carrie replied.
"Yeah." Sue replied, as she sighed. "I was one of Chris Hargensen's best friends who joined in bullying Carrie White, especially during the shower incident. I later felt guilty about her part in the bullying and asked your father to take Auntie Carrie to the Prom in her place."
"Auntie Carrie kills her mother, Chris, Billy, and everyone." Little Carrie replied.
"I know." Sue replied.
"Carrie White hates bullies." Little Carrie replied.
"I wasn't feeling it as all I could think about was how horrible me and all my friends were toward Carrie White. I was wrong. I hate Chris and her friends." Sue replied.
"Hmm, they really do grow up fast." Little Carrie replied.
As Sue smiles.
"Okay. time to go to bed." Sue replied.
"Okay." Little Carrie replied.
Sue took some popcorn and walked out.
"Good night, Mommy." Little Carrie replied.
"Good night, my little angel." Sue replied, as she chuckled at the callback after she left.
Little Carrie opened up the laptop and Carrie pushed Sue out of her broken home. Carrie turned her head, looking down, and brushed the thin piece of auburn hair away from her face. She kissed her mother's forehead.
"It's okay." Carrie said to herself quietly as the house started to collapse on her on video in 2013.
Carrie was waiting for death to come to her, taking her away from this hellish world. Everybody in Chamberlain hated her for all her life. She despised Chamberlain. But then, a glowing orangish red emerged on the ground. As Carrie watched curiously, it grew bigger and bigger. She fell down the mysterious portal and she embraced her fate.
Sue rubbed her stomach gently as she watched the house fall.
"Poor Auntie Carrie." Little Carrie replied.
(Meanwhile, night…)
Date: Saturday 26th October 2030
Time: 12:28am
At night, there was music playing on the radio.
It's almost 12:28am. Camera Pans to pick up Little Carrie lying asleep on the bed in full pajamas. Little Carrie's walls are covered with posters of rock stars and cars, particularly Toyota 4X4's and Jordan's picture.
Suddenly, there was a telephone ringing.
Now, Little Carrie took the lamp light on and her iPhone beeps. Carrie stirs and answers to the unknown.
"Hello." Little Carrie replied.
"Carrie, you didn't fall asleep, did you?" Annie V.O. iPhone replied.
"Annie." Little Carrie replied, as she looked at her smartwatch and turned the digital clock to 12:28. "No. No, don't be silly."
"Listen, this is very important. I forgot my video camera." Annie V.O. iPhone asked in concern.
"Yeah. I changed my clothes. I'm on my way." Little Carrie replied, as she hung up, took her pajamas & changed her clothes.
