Chapter 33: Lemongrab's Screaming

"That's awesome! But.. why do you smell so bad?" "Its a long story. Basically, where I came from, we're fighting a war and rarely have time to do anything other than eat, sleep, and fight. That's really it most days and sometimes we don't even get sleep." "No cleaning yourselves? Seriously?! Who is this we?" "I would tell more but I have come here to deal with a disruption in this world's timeline. Some others should be coming too to help." "Timeline disruption? What's that?" "*uses odor negation spray stored in ender pouch* Finn, a timeline disruption is when somebody or some thing or things or whatever cause events that wouldn't have happened without them that mess with the future and present, sometimes even the past of a universe or universes. In other words, time travel interference or something even more complicated. Now if only whoever is going to come could just show up already. *screams are heard in the distance* That must be the disruption beginning to really cause trouble. People are probably dying right now." "Why are you so calm about this?" "I've seen too many horrible things. I just lost one of my closest friends so I'm not exactly as I normally am mentally speaking." And that's when we hear some commotion behind us. "Yuma! What's with that goofy getup?! Answer me or I'll blast you!" "I thought you knew already! Astral and I become Zexal!" "Is that so? Well, you're spared this time!" "GOKU, YOU'RE TELLING ME THIS IS WHERE THE TIME DISRUPTION IS?!" "Bulma, why'd you even come again?" "Damn it! I knew I should have stayed on Druidia to foil another of Dark Helmet's plots!" "Y'all need to calm down." "I'm with Applejack. Calm down." "*bickering continues* THAT'S ENOUGH!" Tsunade hits the ground with a punch that creates a large hole. Goku laughs nervously: "Man, you're scary!" "GOKU, THIS ISN'T OVER!"
For reasons unknown, Bulma has become so furious that she's transformed into someone with an actually high power level. No one from Miitopia, huh? Guess things are as bad as they were yesterday back there. Oh well. I sweat drop: "Everyone, this is the worst way to start the stopping of a time disruption. There are screams in the distance somewhere. Yes, I'm calm for the moment because this is a serious distraction from what happened yesterday." Finn exclaims: "Hold on a minute! I think that came from Tree Trunks and Mr. P's house! We have to go there immediately!" Goku replies: "I can get all of us there instantly with Instant Transmission. I'll just have to lock onto an energy signature first. But I don't sense any particularly powerful ones in that direction." "Artist's Eye activate. Goku, there is an extremely powerful life form in that direction. Just broaden your senses, don't just sense Ki. Try to sense other energies as well. I haven't learned Instant Transmission so I can't just take all of us there unless it's by the device we all have one of. If you insist on using Instant Transmission to get us there, please do as I suggest." "Aww but I can't sense other energies!" I just ask everyone to hold their hands and make sure that they all are connected directly to me by touch or indirectly by touching someone who is touching me or someone who is touching someone who is touching me. And then, I just teleport us to that location which is in ruins. The house is gone and so is the farm and the apple trees. Not so little Sweet P is having a huge tantrum. Tree Trunks, a small green elephant and Mr. Pig, a anthropomorphic pink pig are trying to calm him down while looking haunted by something as if they had just screamed. He's at least 20 feet tall and is wearing a red and blue shirt that's a bit too small for him and yellow pants. He has light skin, green eyes, and a bald head with some pointy parts due to the horns underneath his skin. Finn has an animal shaped white hood over his golden hair, black eyes, a blue shirt, light skin, green pants, and a backpack on his back with the Finn Sword.
Jake is a yellow orange dog with black eyes, little limbs, and a stretchable body. Yuma and Astral have taken the form of Zexal l which is basically Yuma but much of his hair is golden and his outfit is cooler and in his school colors. That and his face has Astral's green markings and a bottom of helmet like feature on the chin. Earphone Jack is one of the others here as are Anna Kaboom, Lone Starr, and Applejack. Treetrunks sees us: "Finn, Jake! Thank goodness you're here! Ever since some strange lights fell from the sky, Sweet P has been acting very upset and we can't do anything to calm him down! ..Who are all these people you brought with you. Never mind, you can introduce them once Sweet P has calmed down! The little guy has never been so upset before!" "Don't worry, we got this! Jake, let's do our best to entertain Sweet P and get him to calm down!" "Yeah!" "I'd like to help too! After all, I have 2 sons and a granddaughter. I think I can help!" "Goku! You can't help! I'd be better for doing something like that!" "Damn it! I don't think anything any of us try would calm down Sweet P. His skeleton is that of the Lich who killed a hero named Billy and basically put himself in Billy's body. I have a bad feeling about this. Strange lights? That means numbers. I think numbers have entered Sweet P.. Poor guy just wants to be happy." "A Lich? That sounds awesome! I want to fight him!" "Of course you think this is awesome. Listen, the Lich was already powerful enough without numbers. Finn and Jake are only making Sweet P feel worse. Isn't that suspicious? With numbers, the Lich will be far more powerful than ever before. As if that weren't enough, every dimension in this multiverse has the arm of a version of the Lich. Someone should really clean up that mess. It's not our doing but we could after all of this." And then, Sweet P lets out a demonic growl. Finn and Jake smartly get back. And things only get worse. The ominous music used in the Yugioh Zexal English dub for the Xyz summoning of numbers that have taken control over people or are being summoned by villains starts playing in the background as the sky goes dark and the life out of the surviving vegetation where we are gets sucked away.
We all watch in horror as Sweet P's skin gets completely torn off in a completely gorey scene. Sweet P falls down, backfirst into the ground and dies. And then, the Lich rises out of the mess of blood and so on that is released due to what happened to the skin. I knew it. I draw my sword immediately. Goku powers up his Ki to make it surround him as an aura. Does he think that such a small portion of his strength will be enough to defeat the Lich? What is he thinking? The Lich laughs: "Finally! At last, I am free of that child holding me back! Finn and Jake, it is time for me to get my revenge on you for all the times you have gotten in my way. Sweet P is no more. There is only me, the Lich! And with you and whoever else chooses to get in my way destroyed, I will destroy the Land of Ooo and with that out of the way, I will destroy all life! New power flows inside of me and with it, there is no more point of waiting to enact my plans once again. Oppose me and you will be the first to die!" "We won't allow you to win, Lich! Jake, let's do this!" "I'm right with you, buddy!" Jake wraps his body around the Lich to trap him in place while Finn tries to cut him down. However, the Lich laughs and uses magic to easily knock them back a good distance from him: "You two! What did I tell you? I'm more powerful than ever before. There's no hope for you to be able to stop me this time." "KAAAAAAAMEEEEEEHAAAAAAMEEEED-HAAAAAAAA!" Goku fires that attack at the Lich and he gets hit by it because he didn't see it coming. Lone Starr gets out his Swartz stick, ready to fight as well. In response to that attack, he fires green flames at the Saiyan but Goku easily dodges. "Wow, you're really strong! This fight is going to be so much fun!" Bulma gets angrier and tries to kick the Lich but he dodged without even trying. "Damn it! How tough is this jerkface anyway?!" Finn and Jake get back into the battle only to get knocked right back by the Lich. And then, the Lich tries to mind control everyone who is still standing around, doing nothing regarding the fight. But not a single one of us is affected because of Zexal l. I'm not sure how that works.
I forgot to mention that Keough is here too. He jumps up and tries to hit the Lich with his sword. I sigh: "That's it! I'm joining in too! Great Infernal Tornado Slash! Take this! Haaaaaaaa!" My attack does no damage nor does Anna's rocket cannon or Tsunade's insane punches. Earphone Jack created sound vibrations to try to knock the Lich down but that doesn't work either. "We need to work as a team in order to beat this bastard! My attack did nothing! I can do a lot more than it but still, this is a very bad sign. We better smarten up a bit more or else, the Lich is just going to kill all of us. We need more help of course as well. Goku, stop holding back. Please." "Don't worry! I was about to stop holding back! Well, a little less at least!" Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan and fires Ki blasts before trying to punch the Lich. However, nothing works. Goku gets more serious and goes to Super Saiyan 3 only for the same thing to happen. Finn and Jake look on in shock as this all happens. The Lich is at present completely focused on Goku. The villain then knocks Goku back into a dead tree. Goku's hair turns red. He's gone Super Saiyan God now. He's still holding back but much less. I'll spare you the details of more failures. Eventually, he was forced to use Perfected Ultra Instinct. Before that happened, I sensed around for any more numbers. To my horror, there were other numbers possessing other individuals. "Damn it! The Lich isn't the only problem right now!" Jake replies: "What do you mean by him not being the only problem?!" "There's another enemy who has been greatly powered up causing trouble. I do not know who it is nor can we go to stop them with the Lich being as powerful as he has now become. I hope no one here is too affected by Sweet P's demise right now. We have far bigger problems at the moment." And that's when Barla, Mel, Dr. Bonesbane, Kamon Day, Future Trunks, Sonic, Sakura, Shikamaru, and some others showed up. Shikamaru groans: "This is a situation. All of you, we'll handle that Storm King who has come from Equestria to here. You beat the Lich and then this world should be okay again. Oh wait, there's more problem. That's annoying."
They then teleport away. So that's that I guess. Don't know what else to say. And when Goku went to Perfected Ultra Instinct, I had enough standing around again: "I'm going to resume fighting now! This is for the best! Haaaaaaa!" Everyone else also joins in on the fight but none of us are able to deal damage. The Lich is just toying with us. And then, he gets bored: "I'm tired of enjoying your hopeless attempts at defeating me. Time for all of you to die!" He unleashed a huge amount of green flames and releases them toward us. However, I jump in, equip my shield, and defend with all of my might: "I won't let you hurt any of them as long as I'm alive! Ultimate Proud Protector! Everyone, focus on attacking. I can defend all of us for a while. This is for the best. I have the best armor out of all of us here fighting this villain. Just trust me!" No one objects as I manage to withstand all of the flames since all of my gear can't be melted very easily at all. Due to this, I'm able to keep on getting in the way of the Lich attacking someone. When he tries to hurt somebody, I rush in and take the hit. Because I've become so skilled at defending others, I am able to pay full attention to the battle as it rages on. "Damn it! Let's get this jerkface to stay still in one area already! I can't even use my new fighting skills I got from Whis of all people to fight! I'm so angry that I can't do more about this Lich!" "That's a great idea!" "Finn, all of you. I'm going to inform all of our friends who can fight about the Lich. They should be able to help us stop him!" Jake uses his body to go far away very quickly. "You foolish mortals. You don't have any chance against me. Human who keeps taking all of my attacks, you won't last forever. I'll make sure of it!" "We'll see how far you get with that when the time comes! Haaaaaa! For now, I will block and take everything I possibly can. Even if you puncture my armor, I will keep defending the others. Without a wearer, armor just rusts away and has not much use. Without armor, a person is much more likely to die quickly and painfully. They often need each other!"
"I won't let this chance go to waste to high five the sky! Astral, are you ready?" "Like always, Yuma!" "Great! Let's go! Zexal Morph lll! *transforms into Zexal lll* Now, we can really deal some damage! Our monsters may not be here to help us today but with the power of Zexal that doesn't matter! I can generate the very card I need! Go, Shining Draw! Thanks to the Rush Duel format, I can do that again several times now that I've activated my duel disk! Let's flow! The birth of new monsters is at hand, welcome them to reality! Okay, I summon 3 monsters! Zexal Weapon Ancient Tiger Mage, Utopia Beast, and Zexal Weapon Cat Viper!" It goes on from there. Yuma basically equips himself with the 3 and gets strong enough to create a weapon for himself as a result which he uses to blast at the Lich with. "Magnuuuuuum Breeeeeak!!!" "Now, it's my turn to duel! My trains can't go anywhere on their own across dimensions so I must help them! I special summon Rocket Arrow Express! And there goes all the cards in my hand! But thanks to Duel Battle Emergency Mode, I can end my turn now and start another to draw more cards! And with that, I special summon Snow Plow Hustle Rustle!" She eventually Xyz summons Gustav Max. Tsunade carefully attacks, aiming for the Lich's weak points in his bone structure but also stopping to heal someone or herself every so often. The Lich just can't knock all of us away anymore since Goku's strength alone is enough to give him a hard time. Goku keeps the Lich's left arm in constant use as they fight each other endlessly. Earphone Jack uses her quirk to help foresee some attacks before they even come, allowing me to effectively counter them and reduce damage by a lot. She also uses it to attempt to destabilize some bones of the villain's. Bulma is calming down but is intent on trying to break one of the villain's leg bones.
Applejack isn't able to do much in this fight given she's here without her friends. That being said, she's trying to cause the Lich to fall down with a lasso. That counts for something, doesn't it? Lone Starr uses the Swartz to try to crush the Lich's skull but it isn't working out too well. For a while, no changes of note happen in what's going on besides Bulma deciding to help Applejack to no avail. And then, Jake comes back to seeing us all attacking or defending or whatever. Finn during this whole fight has just been trying to pierce the Lich's eye. The whole battle is chaotic. That's the best way to put it. Marceline, Bubblegum, the Gumball Guardians, and Lemongrab all appear. "Woah, this is one battle we can't miss out on! Come on, Bonnibel!" "Marceline! This is no time for that! The Lich is a serious threat!" The Gumball Guardians say at the same time: "Lich detected. Must defend against Lich." The Lich laughs again: "This is a surprise but it doesn't matter. My plans are nearly at hand. Soon, all of you are going to die no matter how many there are of you. In fact, I'm going to start killing all of you one by one. Most of you mortals aren't from this dimension so it's time to finally show you what I can really do." The Lich breathes a black energy air thing. Finn screams: "Everyone, get away! If you breathe that in, you're going to die!" Some of us don't get away in time. However, Marceline transforms into a bat and flies in to intercept the air, letting herself breathe it in. She has long black hair, pale skin, black eyes, and a black outfit. Bubblegum has long pink hair, light pink skin, black eyes, a crown with a blue jewel in the center, and of course, a dress to match her colors. Both are very thin. "There you go. I took on the attack myself!" "You dare meddle in my plans, daughter of a demon? I'll make sure to destroy you last since killing a vampire like you is the most complicated to do. But first, I will set fire to that unsightly treehouse!" Using his flames, he aims an attack straight at Finn and Jake's new treehouse despite its distance from where we all are.
Lemongrab screams: "This cannot be allowed to happen! Lich, you're UNACCEPTABLE! UNACCEPTABLE!" "Don't worry. I won't allow it to happen. Haaaaaaa!" I jump into the air just before the Lich launches his attack. I block with my sword and shield as before just as Goku actually gets knocked back by the Lich, showing that our enemy has been holding back this entire time. But because of the force of gravity, I'm only able to block a small amount: "Damn it! I didn't plan on that at all!" "Our treehouse! It's so done for!" But then, Goku flies into the air and takes on all of the flames. "Curse you, mortal! I think it's about time I start taking the will to fight out of all of you. I sense despair in you, mortal who failed to intercept more of my power. I will use that to destroy you. Fall." I end up falling to the ground only to get back up in another dimension of pure darkness. "With my new power, I can fight other mortals in Ooo and torment you here at the same time. Here, you will experience your worst memories all over again and when I have crushed your will, I will take control of you. Having you as my pawn will benefit my plans greatly. Revenge is going to finally be mine at last. With Sweet P no longer around to keep me locked away, there is no hope for the Land of Ooo or anyone in it." I see so many bad memories. Bray's death, the death camp, my mom's death, my week long sickness last summer, moments where I broke down and felt lonely or stressed or useless, my biggest mistakes, and more. I was horrified and trembled. I don't mention this but though myself and many others jump in on fighting, we aren't free of fear. It grips at us every single day. In my world, I'm afraid of the present and future. Things are hell but most people don't see that, they think everything's mostly fine. I was overwhelmed by so much fear, anger, and sadness all at once. The Lich laughed in delight at my suffering. He laughed and he laughed seemingly endlessly. It was like it was none stop. His laughter, my pain.
But all these feelings are rarely enough to make me lose my will. I refuse to give up on life and put an end to my own misery myself by latching onto the only true liberation at this point: death. I refuse to be driven to so much despair by those in power that it is they who essentially end up kill me. "You make me relive my pain but even as I feel and sound broken.. I refuse to let you control my will. I refuse!" "What?! That's impossible! So be it, I'll just have to try harder to take control of you. You possess much hatred, I can use that!" He uses his magic to try to take control of me by focusing on the hatred I possess. However, as useless as I feel in my world in many regards, I am well balanced. "I hate a lot of things. I do. Nazis, capitalism, fascism, corporations, the mass media, and more. However, I am not someone who blindly hates. I have a lot of things I love as well as things that I hate. And what I hate are bastards like you who want to control what everyone does and kill anyone you dislike. In your case, you hate all life forms. I don't let my hatred control me, I keep a grip on it. I'll admit this too. I am quite selfish. I compulsively eat sweet treats sometimes and don't do enough about the problems of the crappy society I live in. Even so, I'm not worthless because I do some things at the very least and keep myself from eating sweets most days. It's harder to control someone who accepts their flaws and can vibe peacefully so long as they don't spend all their time destroying their own sanity by thinking about so many human caused problems that hurt them and/or those they care about. That and they aren't in immediate noticeable danger. I am a knight and I'm not perfect, I'm a little bit broken. I feel. I hurt. I want. I need. I love. I eat. I sleep. I drink. I shower. I swing swords. And so much more. I refuse to let you control me." I activate Artist's Eye to counter the magic. A couple minutes pass and I had long since stopped using Artist's Eye. Despite that fact, the Lich is forced to return me to Ooo. In one moment, I'm back there and everyone's getting beaten by magic.
"Adam! You're awake! I have an idea of what happened but don't worry, we're okay right now!" "Goku, this is not the time for that. It's only now that I realize that of course my sword isn't doing anything to the Lich. He's made of bones. Swords aren't that good against bones without the kind of intense force I generated using my special attacks. But enough strategizing. I'm just ready to bring him down already even if I have to use my fists instead of my sword to help us do that. Problem is the Lich's defensive power is completely off the charts. He's even outmatching you despite your transformation. There's only a few minor bone fractures visible on the Lich's body." Bubblegum is currently spraying some kind of soda at the Lich with Finn, Jake, and the others covering for her. However, it's not doing much and the Lich is clearly too strong for us. But this was only the prelude to something worse. The Gumball Guardians despite being so big do nothing to the Lich themselves. Instead, they're on the ground, defeated. Marceline snaps: "That's it! I'll use my demon powers!" "Marceline! Don't!" "Finn, it'll be fine. This time, I won't lose myself because of my dad in the Nightosphere." And then she does it, becoming a full on soul sucking demon but without the wild roars of one. Transformed, she takes a hit from the Lich's magic without taking damage. Instead, she begins to try to suck the Lich's soul right out of his body. The villain laughs: "Foolish half demon. I am eternal, I have been here since the beginning. You can defeat me but you can never destroy me. My soul can't be removed from my vessel like this. I'll kill all of you now that I have made that clear to all. These strange objects called numbers have given me new abilities and power. I will merge completely with them to become even more powerful." "Damn it! No one's done that in months! Not since Leonard McLeish got possessed by 3 or so numbers. If this succeeds, he will become indestructible to everything except other numbers." "Hahahahaha! I've kept all of you alive long enough for you to try to destroy me and fight back but now, this is where it ends for all of you."
The Lich opens an Overlay Network in the sky with the power of the numbers inside of him. But before he enters it much to Zexal's horror, he changes to become more than a skeletal reincarnation of a Catalyst Comet. It begins with him returning to his original form which then fuses with the numbers to form a horrifying being of flesh that reminds me of the Gedo Statue: the husk of Ten Tails. Nagato once summoned that beast the day Yahiko died. The being of flesh is basically kind of like a thin, wrinkled with dry skin version of Sweet P but with the horns protruding and eyes sunken. And then, he enters the Overlay Network to evolve into a Chaos Number. Let's just say that the form he now takes on is far more powerful than his base form. The Lich grins: "Now all of you are going to die. I will destroy all life and gain more power to do so. All there will be is darkness." "Hey y'all, we don't stand a chance against him. What in tarnation are we supposed to do now?" "I got it! Fusion!" "Goku, I know what you're getting at but without a number to help us, we don't stand a chance at defeating the Lich. Currently, he's gloating over how strong he is so basically, he's a little bit distracted. The only way for us to beat him without a number is to somehow tear through him and destroy his bones or at least one bone. We can't break all his bones and because he can't be destroyed without a number, he'll just stay injured and if we break him enough, we'd defeat him that way. However, that wouldn't stop him. Although having a way to negate his powers completely would be very helpful right now." Tron comes in laughing like a child as usual due to what happened to his body thanks to Dr. Faker: "I knew that someone would have to come to help all of you! I Xyz summon! Come forth! Number 8: Heraldic Beast Genome-Heritage! Next, I activate Overlay Boost to give Genome-Heritage another Overlay Unit! And finally, I will use all 3 of Genome-Heritage's abilities! You can't stop this, Lich! You have bound yourself to the rules of Duel Monsters!" Currently, most everyone is keeping the Lich busy by dodging his attacks and keeping his attention on them.
But then, Genome-Heritage's effects activate. The number steals the identity of the transformed Lich, drains away his strength, and absorbs his abilities. "Now, Genome-Heritage! Attack with the very abilities the Lich had! Everyone here, feel free to join in on the attack!" I put away my sword and bawl my hands into fists. With the Lich weakened temporarily, this is our chance to defeat him. He doesn't even have his magic anymore but Number 8 does. The biggest downsides to Number 8 is that the abilities won't last long and they only work on up to 3 at once but that's the least effective way to do things. I put so much strength into my punches as do several others. Jake even wraps himself around the Lich to keep the villain from fleeing. And soon, it's all over. Goku uses Kamehameha, Tsunade punches with all her might, Lone Starr uses the Swartz to tear through and crush the Lich's neck, Keough uses Magnum Break, Anna fires missiles, Earphone Jack uses her quirk to rip through the bottom of our foe, Bulma punches a lot, Zexal performs a "Shining Punch", Tron uses a laser cannon, and Applejack helps Jake restrain the Lich. Let's not forget Bubblegum using her candy powers, Marceline striking over and over, and Finn swinging his sword. Seconds later, the Lich's physical form is completely destroyed. All of us got away in time from the destruction. The numbers are now on the ground but the Lich isn't done yet. He's now a spirit again: "You may have destroyed my body but I continue to live on as a spirit!" But Lemongrab, a literal lemon person has had it once again: "Unacceptable! Unacceptable! I won't let you do anymore harm!" Genome-Heritage's effects wear off. The number returns to normal. The Lich uses the chance to try to take control of Finn again. However, Lemongrab screams and jumps as high as he can to stop him: "This is unacceptable! I won't let you possess anyone! You're unacceptable, UNACCEPTABLE!" Lemongrab gets his mouth to open wide and eats the spirit of the Lich. "Lemongrab! No! Don't do that! Lemongrab! I know you don't understand me and are lonely but please don't do this!"
Lemongrab doesn't listen and starts screaming loudly while fighting for control over his own body. He ends up winning in the end. So Sweet P is dead and Lemongrab has trapped the Lich inside of him despite not being that stable in the mind.. Oh and the numbers are on the ground, ready for extraction. I go to pick them up. Tree Trunks grieves: "Our poor little Sweet P. He was just an innocent child who wanted to play and have fun. But now, he's gone.. That Lich is a serious threat.. I'll miss you, little Sweet P!" I bend down to grab the numbers. The vibe around is somber and full of concern for Lemongrab. I was completely distracted from you know what again but that didn't save us from what was going to happen next. Just as I try to pick up those numbers, they fly out of my reach and stick themselves into Lemongrab before vanishing right inside of him. "This has never happened before! Crap! We better get ready. I have a very bad feeling about this plot twist." Bubblegum shouts: "Get away, everyone!" Lemongrab gets surrounded by the infamous number aura as 3 number symbols appear on his body. "Bubblegum! Pleeeeeasssseeee listen to meeeeeeeee! I want to understand you! Understand you! The things you do are.. unacceptable! UNACCEPTABLE! AAAAAAAAAAA! I WILL UNDERSTAND YOU! FROM A SOCIOLOGICAL POINT OF VIEW, I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU, PRINCESS! EVERYTHING! THE THINGS YOU DO AREN'T BASED ON THE DRIVE TO SURVIVE! YOU CREATED ME AND MESS WITH NATURE! UNACCEPTABLE! UNACCEPTABLE! I MUST ELIMINATE YOU ALL! ELIMINATE YOU ALL! THERES NO LOGIC IN HAVING ANY OF YOU AROUND! UNACCEPTABLE! UNACCEPTABLE!" "Calm down, Lemongrab! Everything's okay. It's okay to be different and to act against what we consider as logical as long as you think it's the right thing to do." "NO! THATS NOT ACCEPTABLE! ITS UNACCEPTABLE! YOU MADE ME THIS WAY! "Bubblegum, he's far too gone now. We must defeat him and extract those numbers. Oh and seal away the Lich if Lemongrab can't keep him locked up." "Who are you?" "You ask that now? Let's deal with that later. Right now, we have to restore what sanity Lemongrab does actually have. So it looks like this is more along the lines of a classic number possession. A desire gets intensified into something problematic through a corresponding personality change based on his core personality. But with the Lich inside of him, I hope that the Lich doesn't take hold of him as well." Since Lemongrab has no powers of his own, he's right now just trying to punch all of us to death with kinda strong hits. Not nearly enough to get what his personality change has altered his desire to be. As a result, he just gets more and more frustrated. The Ooo residents are reluctant to harm Lemongrab in his current state but the rest of us aren't for pretty obvious reasons. But still, even Tsunade can't damage him with her monstrous strength. It's like the numbers have toughened his skin which is only nature considering what he is. "CANT HURT, CANT HURT YOUUUUUUUUUU! UNACCEPTABLE! SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE! IMPOSSIBLE! I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS RESULT! I WILL NOT ACCEPT IT!" The Lich is visibly trying to take over Lemongrab but Lemongrab's infamous instability is too powerful for even him to control now that the numbers have escalated it into going beyond what it has ever been like up to now. Thus, Lemongrab is now transforming before our very eyes only to transform again right after finishing transforming. In the end, he turns into a mutant lemon monster with angry red eyes and.. a lab coat? "I WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR LACK OF LOGIC! UNACCEPTABLE!" He starts firing lemon juice at all of us. I did my best to avoid it knowing how high of a PH lemon juice normally has. However, some still gets on me and manages to cause the chemical breakdown of small areas of my armor. "Damn it! This lemon juice is more dangerous than stomach acid! Look out! There's no way my sword could hold up against Lemongrab but I need something sharp to pierce his skin with. Would my daggers work?"
"Man, this lemon guy is strong! I'm getting so excited!" "Do I even belong here? Aaaaaaa! Where's Whis where you need him?! I've never seen such dangerous lemon juice in my entire life!" "Not even my quirk can get through his skin. This is bad. I wish the others of Class 1A could have come here to help!" "I can just imagine Yufa fearing for my life right now.." "Why the hell is the Swartz not working here?" "Damn it! If we can't do any damage for longer than this, we must fall back and come up with a plan! I'm using a lot of chakra but even that is not enough to deal any damage." "Darn it! Why isn't this working?! I'm so not feeling the flow right now.." "Don't give up, Yuma! Let us show everyone the true power of Zexal!" "Just go down, already! I just want to blast you away, Lemongrab! Go, Dreadnought and Gustav Max! Run him over already!" "Everyone, don't forget he can only be destroyed by a number! That's it! I've had it! It's time to link into the VRAINS!" My virtual avatar which now has an Akatsuki robe but with a hood as well overlays over my physical body in seconds. The duel board appears right away. I jump onto it and activate my duel disk: "It's time to put on one hell of an art show that may or may not be the difference between life and death! To begin the creation of my composition that must go underway for a devastating exhibition to be successful, I will start by setting the Pendulum scale and activating the action field Crossover! This will give Lemongrab a harder time moving." And in less than a minute, Regnes is on the field on his most powerful chaos form with my other best Artist friends of different summoning methods. "Now then, I activate Polymerization to fuse myself with all 6 artists on the field along with everyone else fighting you, Lemongrab! Now, we will stand a chance at winning against you to restore you back to who you really are. Fusion summon!" The resulting fusion goes by the name Lord of Ooo. The Lord of Ooo easily tanks being sprayed by Lemongrab's lemon juice.
"WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THE OTHERS?! THIS IS BEYOND SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION! AAAAAAAAAAAAA!" "I am the Lord of Ooo. I was created by the power of fusion." "FUSION?! BUT THATS.. JUST.. SCIENCE FICTION! SCIENCE FICTION!" "No, it is not. Not in all worlds that is." "HOW?! I WILL DESTROY YOU! YOUR EXISTENCE DOESN'T COMPUTE! UNACCEPTABLE!" The two engage in a fierce fight. The fusion literally has a sword for an arm that looks like a fusion of the Finn Sword, my sword, and Keough's sword. If I ever lose an arm, I'm getting a sword as a replacement. Okay, maybe not. As a result of the fusion, Crossover ends up disappearing. But that didn't really matter in the end. The Lord of Ooo and Lemongrab clash in a legendary showdown. Things move so fast that all Lemongrab can let out of his vocal chords are screams. Lemongrab sprays relentlessly and uses eye lasers to try to fry his foe. This is responded to by simply deflecting the lasers with the sword for an arm and landing a few punches that cause tiny breaks in the lemon's skin. Now, Lemongrab is just constantly screaming and blabbering nonsense while attacking relentlessly. He punches back only for the punches to get completely blocked by counterpunches that send Lemongrab back several hundred feet. Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig had ran far away by this point. While the lemon recovers, the Lord of Ooo transforms using Ultra Instinct, Marceline's demon powers, my Artist's Eye and Insane Mode, Jake's stretchy powers, and so on. This makes them look frightening and incredibly full of energy. Damn it. The fusion is going to get undone very soon at this rate. They better have something good planned or else this just isn't going to end up working out at all. And personally, I'm not sure what we can effectively do ourselves against Lemongrab when they defuse back into us. The Lord of Ooo extends their arm sword right to where Lemongrab is holding his forehead while continuing to scream.
With the sword that close up, they charge a lot of Ki, chakra, and magic into it. The kind also used in Kamehameha, Tsunade's Earth shattering punches, Darkeye Slash(for most users of it including me now again), and other attacks. And then, they swing their arm sword in a way that is meant to slice Lemongrab right in half. That does do some damage but it doesn't split the lemon person in half. Instead, it nearly exhausts all of the energy required to maintain the Lord of Ooo's presence. "My time here is now very short unfortunately. But before I leave, I'm going to use what's left of the energy needed to keep me together to attack one more time." They concentrate all of that energy into one point and then punch Lemongrab with their left hand after they stretch out their left arm so the punch could be delivered to the lemon. And then, poof. We're all back and on the ground, sort of exhausted. "Crap. That fusion did not last long. You'd think they would have considering the boosts to Polymerization that have been made. But as we can all see, that wasn't good enough. Lemongrab's skin is far too tough for things to be that easy. He's slowly leaking out juice but I'm afraid that that's not enough for us to be able to defeat him right here, right now." The next 5 minutes were painful. I nearly drained all of my newfound mana reserves just trying to keep all gear and armor in good shape and undo skin damage from Lemongrab's dangerous lemon juice that might be lethal in high enough amounts at once. But then, we all get teleported somewhere. A bright room with a video screen of sorts displaying the battle with Lemongrab, including his visible confusion when we vanished out of thin air from that area. So this is Prismo's place up close and personal. Never thought I'd ever be here. Prismo is pink entity who only appears on things like a pink shadow. He greets Finn and Jake: "Sup guys. You called, Jake. I see you brought some friends, old friends and ones from other dimensions as well. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Prismo. I can sort of grant one wish to anyone no matter what it is."
Goku grins: "Oh sweet, you're like the eternal dragon, Shenron! I'm Goku! It's nice to meet you!" The screen clearly shows Lemongrab now stomping around while screaming as he looks around for us. He's already reached the Ice Thingdom apparently. The local penguins are terrorized by the sight of Lemongrab as he is now. "Nice to meet you, Goku. But let's spare the pleasantries. Jake, did you call to help deal with that going on?" "Umm, yes." "Wise choice. There are enough individuals here excluding you two that there are a sufficient amount of wishes I can grant to resolve every villain problem in Ooo right now and then some. You and Finn have already used your wishes. There's no taking those back. As for the rest of you, like I said. I can grant any wish you could think of, how matter how impossible it is. Finn wished for the Lich to never exist. Jake wished to change the Lich's wish to destroy all life to sending Finn and Jake back home. But be careful. You only get one wish so don't wish for something like the greatest sandwich to ever exist. You can just find someone in the multiverse to do that for you instead." "The Dragon Balls have similar limits. Are there any others we should know about?" "Hehe, Piccolo is going to be angry when he hears what you're going to wish for." "Goku! Don't spoil the fun!" "Well, there is one but it's a little complicated. Let me try to explain. When Finn wished the Lich never existed, all I could do was create a timeline where the Lich was never set free during the Mushroom War. I couldn't get rid of him. That is beyond my power. I can't erase what can't be erased and have to obey the rules of timeline creation and destruction. I personally have little interest in interfering with the affairs of any dimension unless that's someone's wish." "Okay then! I wish for-" "Save your wish for something else! Bulma, I don't care. We can get you access to the best cosmetic surgeries possible for no cost. You don't need to wish for it ever again if that's what you really want in your life."
"Fine! Then somebody else go and make a damn wish already! I'm getting bored!" "I suggest that no one else spend their wish on something trivial just as Prismo advised. I'll just make the wish already because I now remember how wishing works if it is Prismo who grants it. I wish for the severe weakening of Lemongrab to the point that we can take him on and finish him off without any problem. Wishing for his defeat wouldn't work out the way we'd want since numbers are immune to alterations in space-time and you can't even get their cards wet or soaked. Luckily, any wish we ask for shouldn't result in another timeline so long as numbers remain in the universe we were just in." "So that's your wish? I can do that. It will only take a second. *the screen shows Lemongrab suddenly weaken greatly with a lot of energy leaving him outright at once* Its done. If you don't have anymore wishes amongst all of you, I can send all of you back there to finish the obsessive Lemongrab off and restore him to normal." "Damn it, no! I now know a useful wish I want! Can you make us all immune to possession by those number cards?" "I can't grant that wish. Their powers are beyond my power to supersede. I only just realized that as I weakened Lemongrab. You can pick something else to wish for, Bulma of Dragon Ball 7, History 76,434,925,761, Age 783." "Damn it! I have nothing! Can we just go back and defeat that oversized lemon already?" None of us object. "Well, I guess that's it for now. Thank you all for entertaining me. The wish has been granted. Go forth, reduce the disruptions to the timeline. See you all later, bye. I'll just be here chilling out as usual. If you need me, have Jake call me again at any time. You're all welcome back whenever you want to hang out or something." He sends us back. I smirk: "Well, looks like it's time to beat Lemongrab and finally retrieve those numbers." The others nod and Goku takes all of us to him using Instant Transmission. Just in time too. Lemongrab is stomping through the Candy Kingdom and lemon juice is still leaking out of him, causing some destruction and hurting some candy people in the process. "AAAAAA SOMEONE HELP US!!"
The Banana Guards are flailing their arms around, not knowing what to do about the situation. Bubblegum gasps: "No! Not again! The Candy Kingdom is in danger! Something must be done! BANANA GUARDS!" Goku goes ahead to fight Lemongrab but is unable to do much damage alone despite his insane power level. Most Banana Guards come up to Bubblegum: "*unison* Yes, princess?" "Banana Guards! Evacuate all candy people and get the injured to the infirmary! Hurry! Lemongrab is huge and very unstable right now!" "Okay, princess!" And so, they head off to help the candy people. That's a relief. With that out of the way, we all join Goku in attacking Lemongrab who is almost on a collusion course with the castle. I'm still moving around on the duel board. I thought it was for the best and it really was. I get my daggers out and start cutting at Lemongrab as soon as I could. Because of the highly dangerous substance they're coated in, some lemon juice is unable to damage them. Instead, I just keep cutting into Lemongrab as Goku fires Ki blasts and punches, Tsunade makes a hole in the ground for Lemongrab to fall into, Lone Starr uses the Swartz to slow down Lemongrab's movements, Anna blasts him, Zexal hits him from behind with Keough and Bulma, Finn kicks, Marceline transforms into a tough animal to ram into Lemongrab from behind him, Bubblegum uses candy from behind to help him fall in the hole, and Earphone Jack tries to make him lose his balance. Soon enough, all of our efforts finally pay off. As a result, Lemongrab falls down into the hole while leaking so much damn lemon juice that I had to throw a Sphere Field into the air to contain Lemongrab and enough space to trap him successfully into the hole. So we were protected from more juice getting sprayed onto us. The Sphere Fields have been modified to only react to someone whose energy signature is linked with it. This field only responses to what I want for it. When Lemongrab is down on the hole, I have the Sphere Field retract all the way back into a palm sized cube containing it inside. Once that's done, Lemongrab returns to normal and the damage he took was undone. He's now laying in a puddle of lemon juice with the numbers surrounding him on the ground.
The Lich's spirit escapes him just as he wakes back up: "Lich escape me? UNACCEPTABLE! UNACCEPTABLE!" Lemongrab gets up and jumps into the air, trapping the Lich inside of him all over again. A Banana Guard comes up to Bubblegum: "Princess, what should we go with him?" "Bring him to the guest bedchambers and have him rest there. I'll talk to him once everything has calmed down and everyone is safe." What we didn't notice was the Lich escaped Lemongrab again before quietly entering Finn's body, choosing to act like a dormant and hidden enemy as a result. "Okay." "Finn and Jake, please go help get Lemongrab where he needs to go now that he's out of it. I wish there was more we could do for him." They nod and help the guard pick up the mostly out of it Lemongrab. Meanwhile, I go to retrieve the numbers for real this time. However, they've vanished. "Damn it! Where are those numbers now? I can't believe how tricky they are! It's not worth trying to look for them conventionally because they are clearly in somebody around here somewhere." Bubblegum replies: "Until we can track them down better, we should all head to the castle. There, all of you can finally tell us who you are and what you're doing here in the Candy Kingdom." None of us choose to object. If the trend continues for possession, someone important will be possessed if they aren't yet. Probably one of us. That's a safe bet to suggest considering everything that has happened so far today alone. But even after those 2 victories, I don't actually feel happy. When my heart isn't pounding while fueled by adrenaline or I'm serious, I just feel emptiness. I feel nothing. It's a grim state of mind that's just not good. Not good at all. And with all that said, we're off to the castle where we quickly get situated enough to begin explaining everything in the throne room. However, something strange was happening to Finn. He was spaced out with each side of his face showing a different emotion.
As if he's fighting someone in his mind that is attempting to take complete control over him. "Finn? Dude, are you okay?" A few seconds pass. Finn snaps out of it: "Yeah, I'm good. I'm fine. I'm well. Why?" "Dude, you were totally spaced out and looked like there were 2 sides if you fighting for control." "Oh, that? It's no big deal. Nothing is wrong here." The number possession aura is surrounding him. "Finn! You're getting possessed!" "It's okay, man. Nothing to worry about. I'm fighting it off right now in an active and exciting adventure in my life. But thanks for worrying. It's okay, really. Just let me take care of this and things will finally be alright again." "If you say so, buddy.." But the aura only grows bigger and Finn transforms out of nowhere. His skin vanishes and his body gets surrounded in the energy of his original form, the Blue Catalyst Comet. Number symbols appear on his now exposed skull even though they aren't merged with him. "Woah, man! What is happening to you?!" "Everything is happening to me, Jake. I feel so powerful now." "Finn! What are you doing?!" "What Bonnibel said! Why are you letting these numbers take control of you?" "Everyone, that's not Finn anymore. That's someone else. Someone new and terrifying I bet. *draws sword* I don't know what's happening besides the number possession but it feels like there's no more holding back of the power Finn has as an incarnation of the Blue Catalyst Comet. This isn't good." "Bonnibel, I sense pure evil coming from Finn." "But that's impossible! Lemongrab has proven himself to be able to confine the Lich within himself!" Finn grins: "Oh, him? He's nothing but fuel for me now. Jake, you're my best friend and I want you by my side. BB, Marceline, same with you. Together, we can protect everyone!" "Dude, you're scaring me." "We can protect everyone! Protect! Protect them by confining them somewhere safe where GOLB could never touch them! It is our duty as the ones people look up to the most to do so! We'll protect them and ban anything that gets them to rise up! We must control them so that we can protect them! Ahahahahahaha!"
Jake contacts Prismo right away and he then takes all of us except for Finn to his place again. However, we could still hear Finn yell: "You're not going anywhere without me! We must dispel the strangers! They are a threat to keeping everyone safe because I said so!" He then shows up on his own to Prismo's place. "Prismo, give me the power to keep everyone safe for sure." "Finn, you know you used your wish already, right?" "Prismo, give it to me." "The Lich has used his already too. Remember?" "Give me the power! Use your wish!" "I can't do that and besides, I would never grant such a wish when you aren't even yourself." "I am myself! Finn the Human! Finn Martens!" "That's not good enough." "Then, I insist that that person name Bulma make the wish for me instead!" "No way! I saw you fight. You can protect others pretty well by yourself! Stop acting like Vegeta and be yourself instead of someone like him!" "But I am myself! If you won't do it, I'll just destroy you because you refuse to help me protect people! Die, Bulma!" Finn gathers energy in his now skeletal right hand before firing it right at Bulma. But Goku takes the hit in Perfected Ultra Instinct. And I draw my sword again to place it right by his neck. "I may be grieving and inadequate but at least I'm not turning into a wannabe dictator. Fight the numbers and the Lich, Finn. They are controlling him and now you're doing what they tell you. Fight the influence, damn it." "Im me! I'm not possessed! I just want to protect everyone by confining them and making sure they don't question my protection and the protection of Jake, Marceline, and Bubblegum too!" "Unlike the Lich, you still have a spinal chord." I behead Finn. Jake exclaims: "Why'd you do that?! You killer!" "One of us can just wish him back to life once those damn numbers and the Lich at least leave his body and go somewhere else." The Lich leaves Finn's body and enters Jake's as do the numbers. He gets a headache as he tries to fight off the corrupting influences.
In the meanwhile, Bulma sighs: "Guess I'm going to grant a wish for Finn after all! I was for Finn to be brought back to life as he was before he got possessed!" "I am not going to comment on this situation. It's making even my head spin. The wish is granted." Finn doesn't remember anything during his possession. He just looks confused. And then, Jake loses control over himself, causing his personality to change based on a twisted version of one of his desires: to adventure with Finn for the rest of their days. Its almost like the numbers are rejecting the Lich's attempts at taking control now that they've been used by him. That might be why Finn and Jake didn't become fully possessed by him. Jake starts grinning in the same exact way Pitohui is known for in GGO: "Finn, let's spend the rest of our lives adventuring. If Prismo could grant more than one wish, I'd-" "You don't have to wish for it. I can just send you somewhere to start a lifetime for adv-" "Bad idea. He's possessed by numbers now. Don't listen to his wants, they're now twisted and harmful versions of them. Now you should better understand what's going on." "No it's not! Don't listen to him!" "I'll say this in my usual way because I don't like putting much energy into this kind of thing. I'm simply not a he or a she. I'm a they. Not a dude, not a dudette. But more importantly, I don't trust your intentions of wanting to go on lifelong adventures with Finn considering the ominous aura surrounding you and the number symbols that have appeared on you." "Hey! I wasn't done explaining! It'll be so much fun! I'll miss you, Bubblegum and Marceline! We'll go on so many dangerous adventures that that's how we're going to die! And I'm going to enjoy struggling to live through all of our dangerous adventures! I don't care about the actual adventures! I just want to put myself through so much agony that I'll just have to die sooner rather than later!"
"Jake, have you gone crazy?! No way, man! I'm not going on adventures with you if all you're trying to do is die while we go on them! Jake, let's just go to our new treehouse now that GOLB is gone and the Candy Kingdom and Gumbaldia aren't going to destroy each other!" "Then you leave me no choice, buddy! Killing everyone here is going to be my dangerous adventure! I await my suffering and ultimate death today! I hope it's worse than Sweet P's death!" "Don't bring Sweet P into this! He was innocent!" "That's the fun part about his death! He was innocent!" "What in the Swartz did you just say to him?" "That's completely uncalled for." "If you're going to fight, please take it out of this Time Room. I spend enough time cleaning up after hanging out as it is." Prismo sends all of us to a grassy field near Finn and Jake's new treehouse. Earlier, Finn had grabbed the Finn Sword from the top of it before we dealt with the Lich for the first time today. Like earlier, the Ooo residents don't want to hurt a friend, this time Jake. But then, Jake transforms into a undead and corrupted version of himself. His eyes have even gone completely black and his skin is just dried up and rotting now apparently. That's after he transformed once and then entered an Overlay Network he summoned. Pmurt Nedib isn't involved in this and that's for the best. Could you imagine if he possessed Finn when Finn was already possessed? Or even worse, possessed the overpowered Lich? Those are not pleasant thoughts. Not at all. "Now it's time for the most fun adventure I've ever been on! Now kill me! If you can't, you'll all die instead! I don't care anymore, I just want to die on a dangerous adventure!" To be continued.
Outro: Thank you so much for reading this chapter. I had some roadblocks in making this so finishing it got delayed. But it's done now and that's what matters. I can't wait to end off writing for the month with the next chapter of my Walmart story. As you can see, I returned to a format of number possession and stuff like what is seen in the first 3 chapters of this story mixed with the original formula for what happens to someone who gets possessed by a number card in Yugioh Zexal. I even wrote down cases of number possession. The character name, number, behavior, personality change, desire, and what happened after possession ended were included for each case. I might slap it into a future chapter of this story if I can make it fit well into this. But there's only about 10 chapters of this story left to write so we'll see. In this chapter, I wanted to input number possessions of characters who actually have good hearts or are at least not villains. It gets a little stale when it's villain gets number card(s), powers up, and then gets possessed by Pmurt Nedib every single damn time. I hope you liked the more interesting ways used to free Finn and Lemongrab from possession. This chapter really feels like something that has the spirit of Adventure Time flowing through it and I'm happy about that. Okay, that's all. See ya.
