Paimon had felt it. The rage of the world stirred within her. It fought to break free from her. It desired retribution. It desired judgment. This wasn't right. The little fair knew. After everything that had happened for she to come out now. It would be disastrous.
Yet even Paimon had felt some of her own anger and fury mixing with the Destroyer's, fueling their emergence. Paimon could feel her body slowly turning on her. Despite how it may appear, Paimon slowly lost her connection to the physical world, remaining only as an apparition. She had already lost control.
"Foolish serpent!" A voice called within the world of Apep. Aether's eyes widened as he saw the Destroyer suddenly appear behind them, behind Paimon. He instinctively tried to reach and grab her, but the Destroyer had swatted him away as she walked forward, not even bothering with Paimon or Buer.
"That voice…wait is it you?" Apep questioned from above. Nahida, Aether, and Paimon all looked at the Destroyer who now stood within the center of the area. Her lips curled into a scowl as immense energy began to emit from her body. The Destroyer wasn't happy, not in the slightest.
"So, you remember me." The Destroyer spat. "That's good, it means your punishment will be far more severe." She chuckled. As she began to flex her fingers and prepare herself.
"Punishment…hand on…what are you?" Buer tried to question, however, Aether stopped her. No, not just Aether, Nahida could feel it inside her as well. A distinct pleading from the power of Dendro and Irmunsul itself, telling her to stay back.
"You seek to exalt yourself as a wise and ancient being. One who was a victim of the Heavenly Principles among other Dragons." The Sustainer growled. "What claims did you make again? That the Dendro Archon was not worthy of being the Sovereign of this land. That she was shackled by the ones from above. That she has existed for only a fraction of time." The Destroyer recalled.
Apep didn't answer much to the rest of the room's occupants. She merely stayed silent as her claims were recounted. The hubris and might she had was now nothing before the Destroyer. She knew she had made her mistake and would pay dearly now.
"In her 500 years of existence, the current Dendro Archon's incarnation has purged the world of a great deal of Forbidden Knowledge." The Destroyer explained. "Forbidden Knowledge that you and many others had sought after in hopes of reclaiming what you presumed was your 'right'. The power needed to fight against Celestia. The same Forbidden Knowledge that poisoned many of the inhabitants of Teyvat, as well as Teyvat itself. Is that correct?" The Destroyer asked.
Apep didn't answer. Unfortunately, that was not the correct response to give the Destroyer at the time.
"ANSWER ME YOU ARROGANT WORM! DID YOU NOT CHOOSE TO SACRIFICE AND POISON THE VERY WORLD THAT CARED AND SHELTERED YOU FOR THE CHANCE TO RECLAIM YOUR RIGHT!" The Destroyer's voice echoed with the sound of a thousand souls, scaring all the others at once.
"Ye-yes." Apep answered weekly. The Ancient Dragon felt itself trembling uncontrollably as it was judged.
"I see." The Destroyer mused now. Her voice calmer and colder. "Then you understand very well that whatever punishment you received now. It is all because of your own doing. Correct? Teyvat is owned by no one but itself and that includes its lands"
"Teyvat…. please forgive me." Apep cried.
"Do not lie to yourself or me." The Destroyer retorted. "You aren't repented because you are truly seeking forgiveness. You're repented because you know your end is here. You were certain before that you might outlive Nahida. When she died you claimed you would mock her. You are an ungrateful being who bites those hands that feed you, Teyvat and Nahida's. You thought nothing of those that dwelled within you, not for their sacrifices to undo the corruption you brought on yourself. You weren't even concerned about them when they lived within your body and you foolishly tainted yourself. Tell me, why should I let such a selfish being exist any longer."
"If you destroy Apep, the Dendro energy she accumulated will erupt into the land. It could spell the destruction for all of Sumeru." Nahida quickly tried to reason.
"A rational and just claim," The Destroy chuckled as she glanced at the Dendro Archon. Nahida and Rukkha had undone the corruption of Irmunsul and for that, she was worthy of acknowledging... but she was still naïve. "Unfortunately, that is not as valid as you think, Nahida." The Destroyer answered.
The Destroyer snapped her fingers. "Disappear." A light erupted from her fingertips, one that grew rapidly soon engulfing everything. Apep screamed out in pain as its body was torn apart. The process was transient but for the dragon, it could have been an eternity. As the light soon erupted outwards the desert and surrounding area of Apep's dwelling were consumed as well. The light grew and grew to form a dome that kept going outwards. The dome turned a grassy green as the immense dendro energy mixed and assimilated into it.
Before long the dome had eventually reached the walls of Sumeru, having finally engulfed the entire desert and all within, yet before it could move any further, several pillars of light shot out of it. Each pillar traveled a great distance before finally striking a target, all in other nations.
In Mondstadt, the mountain of Dragonspine where Durin rested was struck at the top as the Dendro-infused energy quickly scurried down enveloping in it. Within Liyue, the Guili Plains once destroyed by numerous disasters were soon bathed in their own dome of dendro as well. The infertile lands of Watasumi Island and those nearby where the people of Sangonmiya roamed were also caressed by the immense release of Dendro power.
Once all the excess energy had been burnt out, the light faded everywhere. In its wake were now numerous areas of rich and lush vegetation. Nature had sprung forth reclaiming much of the land it was denied.
The traveler and Buer could only stare in awe from the top of the wall where they had been transported. All of Sumeru's desert, once sandy, was now a rainforest just like the rest of the nation. Eons of damage done by the users of Forbidden Knowledge were now erased and life could thrive anew.
Paimon turned to face the Destroyer only to find her gone and her body returned to her.
A.N. Yeah I played the question and I just had to type this and get it off my chest. Apep while cool looking really annoyed me.
