A/N: The Super Mario Bros. Movie was AWESOME! I wouldn't know even where to start when it comes to reviewing it. Maybe Keldeo will give his thought at a later date, I don't know. But it did get me thinking on what other movies Nintendo and Illumination could make together, and one of the first things I've thought of was a movie adaptation of Rosalina's Storybook from Super Mario Galaxy. So, here is what I believe a teaser for a Rosalina movie made by Illuminaiton would look like. Enjoy!

(Please don't close the tab halfway, I'll explain everything in a second Author's Note at the bottom)

". . . Let us begin," a voice says.

A crashed mushroom shaped spaceship lies in a ravine, smoke from it spiraling into the starry night sky.

"Who are you?" the voice of a little girl asks, "What are you?"

"I'm Luma. I'm looking for my Mama. . ." replied a gentle toddler sounding voice.

"Why don't we go out and look for her?"

"You'll help me find her?"

"Pinky promise."

The girl links her right pinky finger with the tip of one of Lumas' stubby arms. Then the pair smile warmly at each other.

"No matter what. Nothing will keep us from finding her," Rosalina said with certainty.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Rosalina screamed as she stood on the edge of a plank above a black hole, while space pirate moles pointed lazer swords at her back.

Meanwhile, several other of the alien moles were throwing lazer daggers at Luma, who was being forced to float in front of a bullseye.

"All we wanted were some directions!" Luma cried out as he spun around to dodge the daggers.

As a tastefully edited version of "Over My Head (Better of Dead)" by Sum 41 starts to play, the Illumination logo appears and a Minion points at it and screams excitedly, "ILLUMINATION!"

Rosalina stepped off of the plank, but caught the end of it with her feet and sprung herself back up to backflip over the pirate moles.

One large mole charged at her with a laser axe, but then Luma zoomed in and butted him in the back of the head to knock him out.

"Run!" Rosalina shouted.

"Umm. . ." Luma said as he awkwardly looked down at himself.

"Float! Fly! Ugh, just come on!" Rosalina shouts as she grabs Luma and runs off.

Alarms flashed and sirens blared.

Penguins jumped up and down and applauded.

Bees looked upward in awe and amazement.

Gearmos screamed and flailed about wildly, their heads spinning around as they panicked.

Asteroids both big and small hurtled through space towards the mushroom shaped starship.

Rosalina gripped the controls tightly as she steered the ship.

"Use the brake! Use the boost to get thru! Do a barrel roll!" Luma shouted as he flailed about in a panic.

"No backseat driving!" Rosalina shouted back.

"Hey, it's my ship!" Luma insisted.

"You crashed it, remember?!" Rosalina countered.

A holographic wanted poster depicted a burly, scowling Shroob that was armed to the teeth. The poster was then destroyed by a shot from a blaster held by that very Shroob.

"That Luma is mine!" he shouted.

Rosalina and Luma swiftly rode atop of a four wheeled industrial dolly down. They zoomed down a metal hallway with flashing red lights and sirens. A big explosion went off right behind them and launched them both into the air, and everything went into slow motion as the music abruptly stopped.

Back in the present, in the Comet Observatory Library, Lumalee giggled and said, "Ooh, I like where this story is going!"

ROSALINA: GUARDIAN OF THE COSMOS

Rosalina and Luma landed right back into their starship through the hatch on top.

As Rosalina quickly hit some switches, Luma remarked, "Let's never do that again."

"Agreed," Rosalina said with a curt nod before hitting the switch to blast off.

A/N: Alright, we see in both Despicable Me and in the Super Mario Bros. Movie that Illumination can make a movie with heartfelt emotion. I'm sure that if they work with Nintendo, they would have no problem bringing to life all of the incredible emotion present in that storybook. There won't be a dry eye in the audience. However, the storybook needs to be expanded upon to fill up 90 to 100 minutes of screen time. Plus, this is still Illumination we're talking about. There would have to be jokes and action scenes put in there. . . and why not! The storybook was just a way to convey Rosalina's backstory, but I'm sure the "whole" story had a lot more stuff happening. It's a space adventure! If I wrote a Rosalina movie, I would make it a kid friendly version of Guardians of the Galaxy with hints of Wander Over Yonder mixed in. They made Peach an action girl, so why not Rosalina too? Why not have Rosalina and Luma visit a few of the races we see in the Super Mario Galaxy games? Why not have them get attacked by monsters or space pirates, forcing Rosalina to show how smart and resourceful she can be under pressure while also showing us how she'd quickly risk her own safety to keep her children safe? And why not have an antagonist that Rosalina has to fight at the end of the movie right after Luma turns into a comet, proving how strong and devoted she has become, and that Luma made the right decision in that moment?

A movie could show more of Rosalina's and Luma's personality, humor, and wit; as well as how they interacted with each other when put in tough and unfamiliar situations. The storybook was a sweet, heartwarming tear jerker; but a movie could be that and so much more! It could also answer questions like where she got her wand and magic, or where Polari came from. And let's not forget the killer soundtrack. I already showcased comedic irony of these two innocent characters being chased by space pirates while a hard rock song plays, but the soundtrack would also have more fitting tunes like the Kristen Wig cover of David Bowies' "Space Oddity", Jukebox the Ghosts' "Black Hole", and Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now". Like I said earlier, a kid version of Guardians of the Galaxy.

All Illumination would have to do is follow the storybook, while putting the appropriate jokes and action scenes in between the chapters. They have the framework. All they have to do is build.
