Why the hell did it take me so long to post this?! Its not even a new chapter
Glynda and Ozpin were both on edge as they were walking towards Ozpin's office. It hadn't even been a hour and they were already going to a secluded place to talk with one of the 2 gods. And the god terrified them. Even if the woman in front of them was skipping towards the office
"Should we trust her?" Glynda whispered to Ozpin at which Ozpin could only glance from the skipping god and back to Glynda. He already had a answer
"I don't think we have a choice, if she is just a Grimm she is a powerful one. But if she truly is the god…. We need to hope she isn't here to end us prematurely" Ozpin replied in a whisper. He wasn't worried that he would die. He would just reincarnate into someone else. However he was worried for Glynda, Peter, Bartholomew, the students and the rest of remnant. If he pisses of a god that could just spell the end of of the world
It didn't take long for the trio to get to Ozpin's office. He quickly locked it behind him before walking to his desk and moving one chair to sit next to his so Glynda could sit next to him instead of the god. He looked for a moment at the gods expression and only saw a wide, toothy smile
"Oh it's so good to be back! It's good to see you Ozma. Or do you go by Ozpin now. I heard some of the huntsmen I got my Rook to kill call out that name. Mostly in them cursing your name before dying" She said laughing to herself like she saw or heard something really funny. Glynda and Ozpin just sat there silently letting the god laugh at the misery her "Rook" caused
"But that's not why I'm here. I am here because I want to play some games. Indulge in things humans like to indulge in and maybe I'll answer some of your questions" She said suddenly going from laughing to serious. To say it unnerved Ozpin and Glynda was to say it lightly
"Well what kind of game do you propose?" Glynda said, brave enough to talk to the seemingly insane god in front of her. She didn't want anything to do with them and she as hell wasn't prepared for them. Legends and what Ozpin told the 2 gods should be gone, but here they were. Sitting across from presumably one
"Hmm I was thinking of chess but that might be too long as a beginner. But I heard of a game called uno. Seems popular so let's play" She said before shaking her hand. The skin on her hand turning into a black ball of a strange black mass before turning into a box of uno cards. Ozpin only got one small glimpse at the gods hand before it regenerated. It was a charred and skeletal hand. Like it had been cremated but it refused to turn into dust
"That's a strange choice of game. Chess is something I would expect more" Glynda couldn't help but blurt it out. How could she not when an all powerful entity just said they would be playing a game of uno. The god turned to Glynda and smiled again
"A game is a game. Or should we play another game? I've heard of a very fun game called hangman?" The god kept grinning as she grabbed the box of uno cards and made it turn into a noose right in her hands. It quickly managed to shut Glynda up before the noose turned back into the box and taking the cards out and shuffling them, giving each player 5 cards
"Whoever wins gets to ask the other 4 question" the god said and started playing
And they lost. Pretty badly. Them having 7 cards in hand while Ozpin had 0 and Glynda had 2. However they seemed to be taking it in stride. Smiling and complementing Ozpin and Glynda with their victory and their chance to asked a higher being questions
"Well I have a question for you. What are you?" Glynda said to Ozpin's surprise. Glynda wasn't a person who he would expect to rush into interrogation. He found it strangely out of character. But he also found it out of character that a god would just break their vow of staying away from remnant and taking a physical form in such a strange way
"I'm a god….. actually let's say deity. God implies I have a gender. Me and my sibling don't really conform by that but I guess you could say I'm a female since I took up this body and I must say I'm taking a great liking to this body. I'm keeping it" the god said happily making Glynda kinda annoyed. She expected a grand answer, not one that was basically the deity talking about gender or how much she liked the body she had. However when the deity finished something changed in the atmosphere. The air in the office grew colder, like stepping out from the warmth of a house into the cold of a winter night and with it the demeanour of the deity changed too
"I am a deity. A thing people worship. I am like my sibling. Powerful, esoteric, grand. I am also the opposite of my sibling. I'm not radiant like them, I'm not as caring as them, unlike them I'm destructive, sadistic and masochistic. However I am the mother too all Grimm. The creator of the creature YOU HUMANS KILL ON THE DAILY" The deity said with a straight face until the last line, spitting the last words out with a lot of anger and a slight hint of sadness. It was obvious they still cared a bit about the creatures she had left behind so long ago
Ozpin sat there in silent awe. Not letting his emotions show as he just stared. Surprised at how….. human the deity they were speaking to seemed but he couldn't stop the questioning now since he had some of his own. "That's an…. Interesting answer. Let's go on with question 2. Why are you here? If I remember correctly you and your sibling left remnant?"
This question only seemed to put her more on edge and bring up more emotions but she took a deep inhale and smiled. Having a pretty obvious answer "you humans call me the god of darkness and expect me to be truthful, kind and understanding? If you give something a title expect it to live up to it. In truth I never was gonna keep my vow to stay away from you. You humans are too fun to mess with and truly leave alone"
The answer disturbed Ozpin very much but he should've seen this coming. God of darkness was a title humans gave the dark god since they never bothered asking her about her name or actual title. But still her just having fun toying with humans did put him off and more on edge
"I think that answer should be satisfactory for me at least. Question 3. How….. How powerful are the relics? I know they are very powerful but I just don't know to what extent their power lies" Ozpin asked. Veering of the questions that would horrify him or just make the deity a bit emotional
"Before I begin I would like to say I'm very unimpressed that you humans think that only my sibling created the relics, why would they create something of immense destruction? Sometimes you even baffle me but back to the topic. The relics all represent something me or my sibling left to you humans as gifts. Sad that you felt the need to lock them up. Knowledge represents all my knowledge, Choice represents every choice my sibling made to create things, Creation represent how my sibling created you and your world and Destruction represents how easy I can undo his work" She said without showing much emotion except a sly smile but she wasn't done
"However every relic has a part of our power, but a huge part is locked behind a sort of…. Mental wall. What I'm trying to say is with the right criteria they can have powers akin to mine or my sibling. Let's just hope that doesn't happen for your sake." the last words were dripping with insincerity, she wanted someone to unlock them and wreak havoc upon the world.
The answer was most strange to Ozpin and even stranger to Glynda. Ozpin hadn't told her about the true power of the relics, being the spirits inside of them. The one in choice was a silent one which didn't speak a word before seemingly going dormant permanently. The one in creation was called Ambrosius, a mountain of a man who loved nothing more than to create and see good craftsmanship. In knowledge there was Jinn another very tall spirit but this time a woman just smaller than Ambrosius, she was wise and humble yet too blunt and focused on knowledge for Ozpin's liking. And then there was destruction. Like choice it never told it's name and it was far smaller than Jinn and Ambrosius but still fairly tall, standing at about 8'0 ft. They loved to play pranks that would result in pretty big damages or inconveniences
Ozpin looked at Glynda who just looked back and nodded. Glynda knew 2 questions Ozpin could ask and she was okay with both. One was about the Rook and what it actually was. Was it just a Grimm puppet to the deity or was it more and the other was….. were Ruby and Summer Rose alive? Unlike the earlier questions Glynda didn't know why he would ask about it but it just seemed like he would since he did seem to blame himself for their loss
"I just want to know. As my final question. Are Summer and Ruby Rose alive. Lately some hunters have found some evidence that they might be. But I must be certain. I can't give the family false hope and say they are. But even if they are dead. Can you at least tell me which story I should believe about the death of Ruby?" Ozpin's voice was unusually filled with guilt and regret. The supposed death of Ruby Rose could've all been avoided if he just got a experience Hunter or just a teacher to oversee their outside training. He could've stopped it from happening with just a simple call
At this question the deity got up from their seat and walked to the door. Ozpin's face sunk as he saw it as a gesture that they wouldn't say anything about their deaths but he couldn't exactly force someone with the power to wipe them all out to answer his question
"I would listen to the next call you get and that you have so little trust in your next maiden is pretty fun to see. It has been…. A pleasure talking to you 2. Ozma and Glynda. Goodbye" and with those words she walked out the doors towards the cliffs to let the rook leave again. She was content with all the basic questions the 2 inferior humans asked her and found it a good place to leave
Ozpin did know what to feel. He felt relieved about Pyrrha being right in the end but that would mean…. Team JNR and WBY lied to him and tried to kill Ruby. Ozpin held his head in his hands. How could he be such a idiot and doubted the girl he was putting so much faith in. Glynda could only pat his back as she saw the man closest to her break down a bit
But this tender moment crumbled when a noise came from Ozpin's scroll signalling he was being called. Ozpin quickly got upright with Glynda following his example before he accepted the call and looked from who it came from. It came from Leonardo Lionheart. Strangely enough it was only a voice call
"Ozpin. I have to keep this brief because I have something to tend to but you need to hear this. I've told them about Ruby Rose and they went searching until one came back. I was very surprised when they told me their story. They had found a small island with an illegal huntsman academy. That already made me raise an eyebrow but what they said then made me nearly fall out of my chair with surprise. They saw a girl who looked nearly identical to Ruby. The biggest change of appearance was that she was missing 1 arm. I'll be checking this illegal academy out in no later than 2 days and I swear I'll pay you back for giving me this opportunity, old friend"
And with that Lionheart hung up. Leaving a happy Glynda and Ozpin to sit there in awe. Ruby was found
