Red and Black and Green

By Zaru

Yamato scampered through the trees, panting frantically and fear gripping her very heart as she gripped her kanabo.

She can hear the blows in the heavens above, saw them plain as day. King had come. He had followed them, and Izuku was trying to fight him off.

The woman then yelled as she tripped, falling down a ledge as she can hear a crash in the ground. She got back up and-

There was a click of a gun. "Freeze." She turned, eyes wide as she was looking down the barrel of a pistol, a group of other pirates gathering forth.

He was tall, with broad with light grey hair as he held onto a pistol. A large and fat man was munching on a piece of meat while another far skinnier and slender man had a rifle against his back.

"Who are you and what are-"

"Help us!" Yamato pleaded, bowing. "please, my friend he-" There was another crash, and the slender man with blonde dreadlocks looked off.

"Your friend is in danger huh?"

"Yes! It's King! He's come for us! And-"

"King? Kaido's King?" Said a voice as the fat and giant man stepped aside, a man shrouded in shadow stepping forth, wearing only a black cape. Yamato's eyes was wet with tears.

Izuku... Izuku told her to hide while he tried to fend off King... He was willing to throw away his life for her! There's no way, even with all of Izuku's powers and experience that he can hope to match her father's Right Hand Man. A man who is able to contend with even the Admirals of the Marines.

"Yes...I..." Yamato uttered before the man swallowed his big hunk of meat.

"Hey Cap'n... she reminds you a bit of Kaido don't you think? The horns and the club... the height." The man uttered, and Yamato saw the black-caped man exit from the shadows of the forest.

"You're right Roux... So... you're the Oni Princess... and he's the infamous thief..." The red haired man smirked. "Is he someone you treasure?"

"Yes..I... more... than anything!" There was another crashing sound, and Yamato felt her heart sink. That had to have been King again!

"Captain, you sure you wanna reveal us? We just finished setting up this outpost." The pistol-bearer said.

"It's fine Beck." The black capped man turned, with a flurl of his cape. "Besides, knowing these two, they were just gonna rest for a day and move on. They mean no harm... that said... King is on my turf... I need to send that oversized pidgeon a message." and he vanished with a blur, the pistol bearer, Beck, and the rifleman vanishing, as if they teleported. But Yamato knew.

They were FAST.

The fat man reached into his cape and handed Yamato a candybar and grinned a big goofy smile. "Hungry?"

"There..." King uttered, holding Deku by the throat as the beach and nearby forest was on fire, craters everywhere as smoke littered the air. The green haired boy was beaten black and blue, blood dripping as his bloodied and red arms hung lifelessly. "I must admit, someone with your power set and abilities, you could have proven useful had you bent the knee to Lord Kaido." The winged man uttered as the boy choked out blood, it dripping from his mouth. "But consider yourself unlucky that I am under orders not to kill you here. Kaido made it clear he wanted you alive. And Yamato must be close by as well."

Deku said nothing, coughing out blood again as his breathing was ravaged. "Don't worry, you won't die at his hand at Onigashima. I know an island or two that are close we can rendezvous, and then you will feel the full brunt of an Emperor's rage. And Yamato will return to him, and all will return back to normal."

"Ne...ver..." Deku uttered, opening an eyelid that wasn't brusied and closed. "I... I cannot die here... not... until... I see you... and every last... thing under Kaido's control... fall..." He had it open, glaring defiantly at him. "Me and Yamato... will... defeat... Kai...do!"

"Foolish boy. On these seas... ambition can only guide you so far... and I can sense it in your blows? Only those with the power of the King, can ever hope to each him." King glared. "I will keep my hand around you... and I will find Lord Kaido's daughter, and you will know that all of your efforts, Deku... will have been for nothing."

"You're wrong." Said a voice, and King jumped, turning. And the confidence he once possessed, vanished like a snowflake in an inferno, fear gripping him.

No...

'You gotta be kidding me!'

"You caused quite a scene, Deku." Red Hair Shanks stepped forth, smiling as he had a hand on his sword pommel, and King could feel his heart beat in his chest, as if its trying to escape as he can feel the smaller man's eyes locked on him. "Still, I can tell you meant no harm... King was it?" He asked, the winged man dead silent and his flames shrinking out of sheer flight or fight instinct taking him. Does he run with Deku? No, Kaido will not tolerate just bringing Deku. He needs Yamato too! Does he fight an Emperor?

No.

That would mean certain death.

"Can you please leave my new island? I just claimed it." He smirked.

"Bullshit, I didn't see you flag." King uttered, eyes wide as his grip on Izuku's body tightened, the boy gasping in pain.

"Let him go." Said another voice and King turned, seeing Benn Beckman, the smartest pirate in the world they call him, glaring up at him with a gun levied.

"He's... he's a criminal who stole from Kaido... Red Hair... He's mine... as is... his compani-"

"you mean my friend?" Shanks replied. "I don't want to repeat myself King but... I already stated it clear... so let me say it again."

He took a deep breath, and Shanks glare went right at him, his eyes staring, boring into the Lunarian's soul.

"Leave my island. Now."

And the Conqueor's Haki erupted from the red haired man like a volcanic eruption, directed solely at the winged man as King dropped Deku, unaware that Beckman intercepted to grab him and King turned, and with his flames off, transformed and flied as far as he could, his instincts SCREAMING at him to flee. And the Wildfire broke the sound barrier, clouds parting as he continued to soar away.

Shanks took a deep breath, easing his Haki as he walked forth. "How is he?" He asked, Beckman looking back.

"Battered and beaten to hell... but with our doctors? He'll make it."

"Good, I would not want a woman crying on my end if I can help it." Shanks replied, taking a deep breath. "A woman in tears? Weakspot for me."

"Kaido won't like this. Once King returns, he'll want war." Beckman replied.

"I know..." Shanks smirked. "But, will he risk that, once I bring these two in my crew?" He had a big grin. "You've heard of their feats Beck. They saved Doyle, defeated evil marines and pirates all over. They seem like good people, and I don't mind having heroes in my crew."

"And here I thought you didn't want to be like a hero." Beckman replied, carrying the boy who breathed weakly in his arms.

"Doesn't mean I can't admire'em." Shanks replied, turning and walking with him back to the forest. "He gone Yasopp?"

"Oh yeah. He's leagues away and still going." Yassop replied, sitting from the trees gazing at his sniper scope. Shanks smirked.

The Thief of Onigashima, and Kaido's own daughter.

He can't wait to ask them to join his crew! Life's just so much more interesting these days...

"Hey Beck, mind sending a message to Mihawk? If Kaido does come knocking... I bet he'll be interested..."

"Oh he will I bet." Beckman mused. "He will.
