Well I'm glad I'm writing Chapter three already. It means I'm not slacking off lol. I'm sick right now though, so lets see how well this chapter turns out lol. Probably weird, if so you can blame the fever lol

Chapter three: Questions.
" I still can't believe he ditched us." Naruto muttered kicking a pebble across the street. Sasuke rolled her eyes.
" He didn't. You heard the Hyuuga. He was called on a mission, and just returned today." Sasuke explained for the fifth time. They had just come across Hinata Hyuuga on the way back from training, just to hear that Saku had come back from his mission, only to end up in the hospital because of some type of drug or something. He reassured them he was fine, and was on his way back from his house saying Saku wasn't there yet. Hinata apparently knew because Neji Hyuuga, his cousin, was on the same team as Saku and Hinata heard it all from her.
" I know, but don't you at least think it's crappy that Saku-kun gets to go on missions as ANBU and we don't?" Sasuke frowned at Naruto's question. It wasn't often Naruto wanted to have a real conversation like now, usually she just blabbed on and on about something or another pointlessly to Sasuke.
" No. I chose to work inside the village with my Mother, and you chose to be Hokage in training." Naruto pouted in return.
" Still...I know you like him too, so doesn't it bother you that he goes on long missions with no one but women? Neji-teme and your relatives?" Naruto asked kicking another pebble and accidentally hitting and old man with it in the leg. The old man cursed at her and they ran away from the furious old geezer who was shaking a Cane at them in anger. They got away unscratched and resumed their conversation as if nothing happened.
Naruto had a small point, which was unusual of course. Sasuke did like Saku, she just wasn't sure if she wanted to act on it or not. After all she hurt him when they were younger by saying no, and he had gotten over the rejection by turning their relationship into a brother sister one, which at the time she was relieved at. Had she known she would be attracted to him in the future she would never have said yes or not, just ignored him, in hopes he wouldn't give up liking her.
Now Saku was more focused in his work as a Medic, ANBU, and the village, then himself, let alone to pursue romance. Which was a blessing and a curse. A blessing because they still had a chance, a curse because it would be that much harder to get him to ever care about romantics.
Or maybe he had a lover already, or several. He sure was popular enough with the ladies. Not that he had to encourage his fan girls at all.
Of course everyone doubted, even her, that he had a lover. After all he spent so much time working if he had a lover, he didn't spend much time, if any with her. Or him whatever he preferred.
Of course Sasuke also knew that in ANBU you had certain missions where you had to become someone's lover, a stranger, a target, or even your teammates lover for a cover. That was why she mostly disliked he was in ANBU. That was no doubt the same thing Naruto was talking about here.
Was she worried Saku had those missions? No she knew he did. She wasn't worried about him being professional. Saku was pretty straight-laced. They'd never seen him show any romantic interest past Sasuke all those years ago.
Sasuke wasn't worried about him finding a lover on his team because Saku wouldn't risk it. If he got involved with a teammate outside of missions, he would be kicked out of that team, and Saku liked his team, it was the best team in ANBU.
Sasuke was however worried about him eventually finding a lover in the village. After all, it was only so long before he decided he wanted to settle down, or find himself a girl.
" I don't think Saku would risk being with any of his ANBU teammates, he wouldn't want to be kicked off Nii-san's team." Naruto rolled her eyes.
" Not everyone cares about the rules, and you can't help who you like. Besides your cousin doesn't seem to give a crap about those rules, she hits on Saku-kun all the time." Naruto pointed out.
" Saku can't stand to be around her for very long. He'd never willingly spend time with her outside of needed mission times." Sasuke commented with a frown. Naruto got that 'thinking intently' look in play.
" Then we should worry about your sister and Neji-teme. I mean Saku-kun can stand to be around both your sister, and Neji with out getting ticked off at them." Sasuke understood perhaps Neji Hyuuga...but...
" Why my Nee-san?" Sasuke asked puzzled. Naruto shrugged.
" She's always getting him for their 'training' though you said she trains alone. She always uses him on her team, and he actually likes your sister though everyone else is rightly scared shitless of her." Naruto said with a wave of hand as they finally reached Ichiraku. To their surprise. Hinata, Tenten and Ino Yamanaka were all eating there already.
" Oh hey! Hina-kun! What are you guys doing here?" Naruto asked bouncing over to the stool next to the blushing Hyuuga who choked on his food at her call. He smiled at her in that way that everyone knew was the Hyuuga's puppy dog eyes, the ones that Naruto clearly couldn't read for what they were. The love sick Hyuuga adored Naruto, and everyone except Naruto herself, knew it.
" Eh our usual place is closed and so we agreed to come here as we had little choice." Ino said quicker then Hinata could, which the Hyuuga didn't seem to mind. He was happy just looking at Naruto and being seen by her. Sasuke sat beside Naruto taking the last stool at the bar. Beside Hina sat Tenten and then Ino on the other end.
" Did Saku-kun ditch you guys too then?" Naruto asked after they ordered their food. Ino glanced down the bar at the two woman.
" You mean before his mission with the sexy and elusive ANBU captain? Or after he came back?" Ino asked with a grin. Naruto made a face.
" Did he make plans since he came back?" She asked in turn. Ino shrugged.
" Honestly haven't seen him. He's been elusive since he's gotten back. But I heard from Hina that he was in the hospital briefly, something about being drugged or something. But Hina went to see him and he wasn't at home. We tried to find him but he's about as elusive as Itachi Uchiha about now." Ino commented. Hina nodded.
" He could be at ANBU H.Q." Sasuke commented. After all none of them sitting here was ANBU. Tenten was going to be ANBU shortly, but not yet. Since ANBU H.Q was only available and the location only known to ANBU, none of them thus could see if he was indeed there.
" Neji-Nee-chan said that Itachi-san a..asked him to rest, which means g...go home. But he's not there. He wouldn't be a..at the ANBU H.Q after that order. He h..has to be somewhere else." Hinata said softly, almost too softly for any of them to hear.
" Yeah Hina-kun's right. But...where would he be after getting an order to go home and rest? He wouldn't be working, and he has no where else to be." Naruto pointed out as confused at the rest of them. Of course Ino chose that moment to pipe in right when Sasuke and Naruto's ramen came.
" You never know maybe Saku got himself a lover when we weren't looking and she heard about him being in the hospital and got all worried, and he's comforting her." Ino said with a hip rock in his chair to show what his idea of 'comforting' meant. Sasuke and Naruto grimaced.
" Now that you bring that up...,however wrong that may have been, do you think he would ever get a girlfriend or anything? I mean he's been single ..like a really long time. Do you guys know if he's ever hit on anyone at all? I mean as his guy friends." Naruto commented with a frown. The men shared a silent question with each other, as if asking each other if they had ever.
" I think Saku would rather work himself to death then nab a babe. We all know he could have an orgy and have any woman the man wanted. It's a shame he's such a damn goody goody and a workaholic." Ino said tisking, deciding to speak in their silence.
" I..I think if..Sak..Saku-kun l..liked someone..he he would have her already. Or...or maybe he's...t..taking his...ti..time." Hinata mumbled shyly, blushing at Naruto's eyes on him.
" Do you guys think Teme's sister could hit it off with Saku-kun? Teme and I were wondering that on the way here." The guys shared another silent puzzling look that neither girl understood. Finally Ino shrugged as the one to answer obviously.
" You know now that you mention it...Saku does get along with Itachi-san well. She's pretty tight laced herself. So who knows. Maybe they'll unwind together?" Tenten commented quickly thinking it over and nodding. Ino smirked.
" Or Saku will unwrap those bindings and get to taste the tight assess golden skin." Ino said with a lecherous grin. Sasuke grimaced in repulsion at that thought, and Naruto gulped and made a face at the same time.
" I..I'm n..not so...su..sure the U..Uchiha clan..we..welcomes him." Hinata commented softly again as if afraid to bring attention to himself by his comments. Everyone however looked at him at that. Sasuke even frowned in confusion.
" That's not true Hina-kun. Teme's parents love Saku-kun! And Teme's sister and cousin always hang out with him when they can!" Naruto said wondering if the Hyuuga had been absent for their conversation just now about how much time the two of them spent together.
Ino frowned however and something itched at the back of his mind.
" No...Hina gots a point. I remember going to the hospital not a while ago for Lunch with Saku and seeing him get the third degree by a random Uchiha. He was just taking it head lowered. I never saw Sakura just take that many insults, from anyone." They all looked to the blond in surprise.
" What did the Uchiha say?" Tenten commented curiously. Ino's brows furrowed.
" I wasn't close enough to hear a lot of it, but a lot of cursing. Too much for him to have done anything wrong. It seemed more like this Uchiha hated him, then Sakura messed up doing something. I think the old Uchiha said something about Saku's parents...or maybe just his dad. I didn't get the feeling that whatever happened was a good thing." Ino said seriously thinking back on that random moment. He had been concerned. Saku would never take anyone talking bad about people he cared about, let alone his parents, but he had. He just stood and took it all.
Everyone was giving the same confused expression trying to rationalize that moment.
" Just last week I did notice a lot of Uchiha avoid him. Mostly the older ones. I thought it was weird since older people love Saku." Tenten commented. Ino nodded.
" That Uchiha at the hospital was an older guy too." Sasuke's brows knitted together. He hadn't noticed anything like that. Besides Saku was loved by his clan, as much as he saw Saku with his family and the like. After all Saku was their clan medic after all. He didn't see why any of them would hate him.
" That's just insane! Teme's family loves Saku-kun! He's their clan doctor!" Naruto said face red in argument. Sasuke ignored them all and thought on furiously. However now that they brought it up..his family hadn't seemed to like him as much as everyone else in the village. It wasn't that noticeable, but it just seemed almost like...they didn't...trust him. Sasuke blinked. But Saku was the most trustworthy Shinobi in the village. Why wouldn't they trust him?
" No they have a point dobe. I've noticed that as well. I just overlooked it. My family isn't...very social when it comes to outsiders. I just pushed it off as that, but I have noticed that my family, especially the older ones, don't seem to trust him. They give him looks like he's done them a wrong." Sasuke said stopping Naruto from ranting on again. Naruto turned to her in surprise at that. Her blond brows wrinkled in surprise and confusion.
" Why do you think that is?" Tenten asked with a frown himself.
" The Uchiha's being Uchiha?" Ino said with a shrug. Sasuke ignored that insult for the moment. His clan wasn't exactly the favorites of the village after all.
" Maybe because they are a clan and don't like outsiders. That sort of stuff does happen. I mean I get looked down on, no offense Hina, by the Hyuuga clan because of that. They don't like me hanging out with Neji." Tenten commented to cover Ino's rude statement.
" No." Hina said. Everyone turned to him in surprise at his one word reply. He blushed at the suddenness of that.
" I..I mean they like Saku-kun. Mo..mother wants him to marry into out ..c..clan. They always welcome him. They don't like you Tenten because Mother wants Saku-kun to marry Neji-Nee-chan." Hina said shyly. Tenten nodded understanding now. Naruto scoffed however.
" No offense Hina-kun but I find it difficult to believe that your mom would like anyone not a Hyuuga." Hina smiled slightly at her.
" That's just scary. Naruto finding anything hard to believe." Ino said with a grin at the fellow blond. Naruto ignored him with only a brief glare his way.
" Mother seems very intent on having Saku-kun in the family, but Saku-kun seems VERY intent to stay out of our clan. He rarely comes over any more. I know it isn't because of my clan, I think maybe so..somethings wrong." Hina said shyly but with worry. Especially since it concerned his best friend.
Before Naruto went off again on whatever she looked to be about to complain or argue on, Sasuke spoke.
" I think I'll look further into my clan's dislike of Saku." Sasuke commented.
" Well then we'll see what Saku will tell us about it." Ino said with a grin to Hina. Hinata frowned. No doubt knowing it would be him gathering info not all of them. Him being closest to Saku after all as his best friend.
" I guess I'll go to lazy ass for info then." Naruto said wanting something to do. Ino perked at that.
" Why Shika?" He commented. Naruto came Ino a 'WTF' look in turn for that question.
" Where you been for like..the past four years? Shika's in ANBU, she and Saku have been close since they joined ANBU together. They're always together, even when Saku-kun says he's too busy for us, he gots time to hang with lazy ass Shika and watch the clouds." Naruto said with a firm scowl. At that Sasuke was off after paying and Naruto followed after a wave to follow.
Ino turned to his fellow guy friends with a look of confusion. When had Saku and Shika became friends and he hadn't noticed. Wouldn't he have noticed had his best friend and his old teammate had been spending all their free time together? He'd never even saw them say four words to each other, yet it was common knowledge they were close?
" Years? When did that happen? I never noticed it." Man he felt like Naruto now. Not noticing something that was obvious. Hina and Tenten shared a look.
" I don't know Ino, I mean they do have a lot in common. I see them and Neji hanging out a few times a week just to play Shogi." Tenten said with a shrug. Hina nodded too.
" They cloud watch together too. At least when Saku isn't busy with work." Hina added. He had noticed them hang out a lot lately. He had wondered if they were together as lovers, and he still didn't know, but it was better to not bring that up. More since Ino was so obviously distressed with not knowing his best friend and old teammate were close at all. Besides maybe Saku was with Shika, then it was better Hina not tell anyone anyway.
Ino left at that wanting more information from the source while Tenten and Hina finished their food, to caught up in chatting to finish before.

Sasuke couldn't approach her mother about the subject, but maybe she could her father. Maybe Mikoto had noticed the same things they all had about their clan and Saku. Mikoto was very observant after all.
Mikoto Uchiha was preparing Dinner in the kitchen with apron on and his long hair tied up in a long tail. Fugaku Uchiha was in the study filling out paperwork before dinner, and Itachi was no doubt with Shisui who knew where, or doing the same as their mother, paperwork. Which left Sasuke some alone time to ask her father.
Sasuke sat at the table enjoying the tea her father poured for her and mentally trying to word her question.
" Dad." She commented finally deciding to get it over with or risk not being able to. Mikoto pulled off his apron and sat at the table as if knowing already she wanted to talk and was waiting for her to bring it up. He looked excited and happy to have her come to him. She hesitated.
" Hav..have you noticed...no...um.. What do you think about Saku?" Sasuke said instead. Apparently not what Mikoto had thought this was going to be able, he looked caught off guard.
" Well Saku-kun is a good man. He's responsible and hardworking. Maybe too hard working sometimes. He's kind, and reliable, and goodhearted. He's skilled and protective of you and Naru-chan. What isn't to like sweetie?" Mikoto asked with a happy, if not puzzled smile with the subject. Sasuke frowned.
" D..does mother feel the same then?" The smile wavered slightly. If Sasuke hadn't been watching for a reaction of the sort, she wouldn't have noticed it.
" Well your mother likes that Saku-kun's hardworking. She's glad he's in ANBU and strong and a medic, though he isn't much happy that he prefers being a medic." Mikoto said truthfully with a smile as if not bothered by the subject, but Sasuke could see the small tenseness in his shoulders that the subject's direction caused. Which alerted her that something was indeed wrong between Saku and her clan.
" Have you noticed ...that the clan doesn't seemed to like him? I mean the older ones at least." Sasuke was surprised at the sudden shutting down of her father's face. He was hiding something, but then he smiled to hide it. It was where Itachi got it from. Not the smiling, but the blankness.
" They're just wary of someone new coming into the compound. The older ones tend to be silly sometimes. Maybe it's his hair." Mikoto said with a smile of teasing, but Sasuke knew better now. Mikoto was hiding something. She intended to find out what.
" You mean someone who isn't an Uchiha coming into the clan so much, since Saku's been out medic for years now." Mikoto smiled, but Sasuke realized it was just a cover. Her father was actually very uncomfortable with the subject, but he also looked surprised with what Sasuke had said.
" No..not that. They're just unsure about him, now drink your tea before it gets cold." Mikoto said with a bright smile then stood dismissing the conversation entirety, getting back to cooking. It was all too bizarre, and her father never brushed her off like that, and the subject had actually made him uncomfortable. Something was definitely going on here, and she would find out what.

Ino watched a dissatisfied Naruto leave the brown haired lazy cloud watching Nara. Her long brown hair was pulled up and now flowed in waves to her shoulder blades. Smoke wafted into the air from her cigarette in her lips. She stayed relaxed in her reclined position in the grass on the hill even after Ino came into the clearing making himself visible. He plopped down at her side reclining as well.
" This must be bother-Shikamaru-while-she's-cloud-watching-day." She commented blowing a puff of smoke out at the same time. She was clearly annoyed to be sought out so much in her cloud watching time.
" This about Saku too?" Shika asked tilting her head to lock brown eyes with Ino's blue. Ino's blond brows furrowed in confusion.
" When did you and Sakura get close? I mean I never saw that coming." Ino said with a frown. Shika sighed and looked back to the sky.
" Does it really matter when. Am I not allowed to have friends outside our old team?" Shika asked with a raised brow. Ino scowled and sat up. Shika sighed.
" Not Sakura Haruno." Ino said with a rumbling growl. Shika sat up as well a rubbed a hand over her face tiredly. This wasn't how she envisioned her relaxing do nothing day.
" I know you guys have this hate-hate relationship going an all-" Shika began but Ino cut her off.
" It's not that. I don't want you to get hurt. Sakura's charming and all, if your into that crap, but he's got as much interest for women as a gay man." Shika snorted.
" You assume I spend time with him because...what? I want to have sex with him?" She asked incredulously. As if that could be the only reason a man and woman spend time together. Ino gave her a look instead of answering like she expected. His looked clearly asked ' Don't you want to?' She looked to the sky to hide the uncomfortableness the subject brought up.
" Your bothersome Ino, but I like spending time with Saku. He's pretty decent at Shogi." Shika commented ignoring the silent question. She didn't want to even think about the answer, even to herself. Frankly because she did like Saku, she found him attractive, and they were close. Saku was charming, but not in a flirtatious way. Saku Haruno was naturally charming and didn't even know he was, maybe that was why he was charming to start. He never tried, but he was.
Ino's brows furrowed. He didn't fail to notice she didn't answer the question. Maybe because he knew she liked him, or was at least attracted to him. After all Saku swept many women off their feet with out even knowing it.
" I just don't want to see you hurt Shika, more so because of that jackass." Ino said touching her shoulder seriously. Shika smiled slightly in turn.
" It's not like that. So thanks for the concern, but it's unwarranted." Ino shook his head. Knowing differently. Ino could always tell when a woman liked a man, and who it was. A skill until now, Shika hadn't minded.
" Regardless, he hurts you...I'll kick his pink haired ass to Suna." Ino said with a grin. Shika rolled her brownish black eyes, not even bothering to mention that he wouldn't be able to kick Saku's ass anywhere since Saku would no doubt win if Ino started a fight.

Sasuke snuck out before dinner, after her conversation with her father, to find Naruto at the usual meeting spot for team seven at the bridge where she agreed to meet her after she found anything out from her parents. Maybe Naruto got something out of Shikamaru.
Sasuke was surprised to see Hinata Hyuuga was there aswell when she came to the bridge. She was just expecting Naruto here, but maybe the Hyuuga wanted to come along, or maybe he found Saku and wanted to report his findings as well, or maybe report this conversation to the guys for information sake.
Naruto as usual started talking as if she had never stopped from when they split up.
" Shika noticed it too, but she looked like she didn't want to talk about it." Naruto said with a frown and shrug. Sasuke rose a black brow.
" Because she's lazy?" She asked. Naruto shrugged.
" More like she knew what was going on from the start and wasn't going to say." Hina nodded. He had wondered as much. Sasuke caught his nod though and made a motion for him to say what he thought. The Hyuuga hesitated then sighed and spoke looking down at the ground.
" Well perhaps she knows, but promised not to tell anyone." Hina said with a shrug. Naruto shrugged.
" You thought something else?" Sasuke asked knowing there was more then he was saying. Hinata looked a tad uncomfortable.
" I was thinking about Shika-chan and Saku-kun. I was wondering if they...were lovers." Hinata said with a small flush. Sasuke blinked and even Naruto seemed to be thinking it over as possible.
" I don't know if Saku-kun would go for lazy ass, but she is the only girl he hangs around besides his teammates." Naruto pointed out. They both had a point.
" Doubtful, but possible." Sasuke commented. Not too happy with the thought itself, but knowing it could be true. It would make some sense. More then they had on the subject at least.
" It's probably sure to say that Lazy ass won't talk then regardless." Naruto said bummed out. She then brightened remembering Sasuke had something to report as well.
" What about you teme? You find anything?" Sasuke frowned then shrugged a tad.
" I spoke with my father. He honestly likes Saku, but I noticed he was acting like he was hiding something about the subject." Hinata frowned.
" Like he was upset with it, or that he was uncomfortable speaking about it?" Hinata questioned. Sasuke nodded.
" Both actually. He shut down when I asked about why our clan's older ones wouldn't like Saku. He tried to joke it off but I saw his surprise, like I asked and shouldn't have even wondered or saw it at all." Sasuke said with a deep frown.
" He was oddly vague about the whole thing. He brushed me off after a while." Sasuke said with a shrug.
" That is weird, you dad loves when you come to talk to him." Sasuke nodded, that was the weird thing. Hinata seemed lost in though.
" Did he say it was because he was not an Uchiha?" Hina asked suddenly. They were both surprised at how concerned Hinata was about this subject. He was shy still, but he seemed oddly focused on the subject. They hadn't known the Hyuuga had a brain past his shyness. They at least never saw much of it over his stammering.
" That's the strange part, father made sure it was very clear that WASN'T the reason." Hina rose his violet brows in surprise. Naruto looked surprised as well.
" This is turning into a mystery." Hina commented with a puzzled frown.
" Perhaps you can ask him more when you run across him, in the mean time I'll keep searching around the clan looking for answers." Sasuke commented and left with a nod to them both before he could hear what Naruto was going to do in the meantime.

The first thing Saku did after being set free from the hospital was go to the Uchiha district. He wanted to beat Itachi and Shisui back. He had to report after all.
Saku wanted to get this over with and rest more, maybe go back to his plans on that trip to the onsen, and get his house repaired and cleaned up like he had planned before a mission called him away again.
Saku wondered when he would ever have a stress free anything, let alone a entire day. He hurried to the Uchiha family home where both his teammates, old and current, lived with their shared parents. Saku managed to avoid running into anyone he knew, even Itachi, Sasuke, and Shisui.
Mikoto welcomed him with a friendly if not tight smile at the door. Saku nodded in return for that. Mikoto was one of the few outside the Uchiha clan elders, Fugaku, and some of the older of the Uchiha clan who remembered his parents, who knew Saku's biggest secret.
Mikoto laid a heavy hand on Saku's shoulder before he got to walk to the study where he was being awaited by the Uchiha clan head, Fugaku Uchiha. Saku tensed under Mikoto's hand. Mikoto was trying his best to reassure him maybe, Saku nodded and Mikoto left him to his fate, while Saku walked into the office.
He closed the door and knelt avoiding Fugaku Uchiha's eyes as he did. He knelt in front of the desk where she sat. He was on one knee head bent.
" Was your mission a success?" Fugaku asked with little of anything in her voice.
" Yes Uchiha-sama." Saku said eyes kept on the wooden floor at his knee.
" Don't show those eyes to me boy." Fugaku said harshly in disgust. Saku winced and activated willingly the secret he kept from everyone, including his friends. The blood limit he shared with at least three of his teammates. He had gotten it from his mother. The blood red eyes peered hard at the hardwood floor still, however this time in place of his jade green eyes. Burning flooded his eyes. He didn't activate the Sharingan willingly often. He tried his hardest not to accidentally as well.
" I heard you were drugged on your mission, yet you say it was a success? Do you lie to me?" Fugaku asked tone hard, and unkind as always, but a little harder in irritation.
" No Uchiha-sama. I was drugged, but I made sure my team was safe and the mission was well on way before I fell unconscious. The mission was complete despite my weakness." Fugaku nodded.
" It is good you know your place then. Your mother went against our clan and married your filthy civilian father. You pay for her mistakes with your service to our clan." Saku nodded.
" Your families disgrace to the Uchiha clan is a secret you know that you are not allowed to show your gift to anyone. That gift was given unwillingly to someone not of our clan. You pay for that stolen gift with your service, yet you dare be weak? You should remembered who you are, and know you are nothing to us. You would prefer to be locked away from the village? Or killed?" Fugaku asked with a sneer in distaste.
" No Uchiha-sama. I will do better. I will never fail you again." Saku said clearly. Fugaku was silent a moment, but he felt her pleasure at that sentence. She always liked having him kneel like she was a queen and he was just a filthy dog not worth her attention. A stray begging for scraps, and licking her boots.
His eyes burned brighter and his Sharingan spun dangerously in his anger, he did well to keep his eyes down and from revealing that anger less he be punished for it.
He was nothing to the Uchiha clan. He was less then nothing in their eyes. Fugaku and the elder ones of the clan, who remembered his mothers betrayal. And Saku who looked apparently exactly like his father with the strange colored hair and the exactly colored eyes, was seen as just as bad as his father himself, despite both his parents being long dead.
" Tell me boy who you are." Fugaku said with a smug sneer. Saku's eyes burned hotter in anger but he bowed his head further. In a clear, monotone voice he spoke what he did every time she asked him it.
" I am a disgrace to the Uchiha clan Uchiha-sama. I know I am not a part of the clan. I will not reveal my stolen gift. I will never speak against the clan. I am not worth attention. I am unworthy of my gift. I am a stray."
He was a mixed blood. Unwillingly gifted with his mother blood limit. His parents had died before they even knew what they had cursed him with.
A knock interrupted their conversation and he flickered off his 'stolen' gift just before Itachi walked in. She paused seeing him, she stared a hole in his back obviously wondering what the hell he was doing in his mothers study kneeling as he was.
" Forgive me mother, for interrupting." Itachi said curiously wondering what on earth she had interrupted to start. She would not get an answer from either party, Saku was sure.
" What is it Itachi?" Fugaku asked with a much lighter tone, saying how much more Itachi was favored, or maybe how much Saku was very much despised. Itachi frowned.
" Perhaps we can speak alone?" Itachi asked wondering why Saku was there in the first place no doubt. It was unusual that Saku would at least stand and show his ANBU captain respect, yet he hadn't even moved at all. As if waiting to be dismissed. And with a start, Itachi realized he was waiting for that very thing, but not from her, from her mother.
" Your dismissed Haruno. Remember what we spoke about." Fugaku said. Itachi saw the verbal slap hit Saku like an actual blow. His spine tensed and then instead of walking out and passing her, he disappeared out of the room with a poof of smoke, only the lingering smoke ever giving any indication he'd ever been there from the start and certainly not answering the why of the matter.
