Chapter 6
It has been two years, the house is in great shape, and we are adding on to it, Maria has fallen for one of Marks friends that came with him to help on the new room, that will be for the girls to work on quilts and other sewing project that they wish to take on. Twilight Queen is a fine five year old horse and Mr. Blake has even came to visit with a young colt that had lost its mother telling me that I was the only one that he knew had the patience to help the young colt grow and survive. He had to give the thing a chance to live so he put up with bottle-feeding until he got here with it. He stayed just a few days then went back. Father went a year later since one of his old ships had come in and he needed to see which one it was. When he came back, he had John with him, it was John's ship that had come in, and Father wanted to surprise Amy with the news just in case John was not on it any more.
With Johns help, the new room was done in no time. We then started to work on another new room for John and Amy to have for after they were married and where trying to start a family of their own. Father said they could stay here until John had enough money to buy their own house. Mr. Beast had given me his father's old piano since no one at his home could play it. He had me play for him to see if I was any good first. I was able to play the piece I composed for Alanna on her 16th birthday as I had for Amy and Maria. John had been here a year when he and Amy where married.
By that time I had a few girls in town flirting with me few the fact that I had two fine horses and after three years of hard work my skin had cleared and I had gained muscle and I did not like having to hide if I saw any young woman walking my way at my own sister's wedding. Maria, Amy, Mark, Father, Alanna, John, Mr. Beast, Mr. Green Ms. Mary, Ginny, and Freddy all found this funny that I had to doge all most every girl in the town. I am starting to wish I had not started to work as a blacksmith and carpenter at Mr. Beast's store. The day after the wedding, I had to break in the colt named Storm Cloud. He was two years old and I needed to get him to where he could be rode, Storm Cloud follows Alanna like a puppy since she helped take care of him and he seems to like her more than me. I have built a coral to break him in and for him and Twilight Queen to roam around in out in the back yard.
I have had to get the sheriff of Blue Lake to come and get Jane, or "Frost" as she liked to be called, Mrs. Cross's oldest daughter to leave my horses and me alone. Jane had come out here and I did not know and found her trying to get Twilight Queen and Storm Cloud out of their stalls, and would not leave them alone even after Father and I asked her to. She has since been shipped to a town on the other side of the woods since Mrs. Cross had been warned that if she cased any more trouble she would have to either move or but put in jail. Mrs. Cross is not happy with my family and Lucas will not speak with us since he is her nephew.
We have been here for three years now and I love it here beside the fact that I have to hide from the girls of the town that are not kin or friends of mine, Ginny does not flirt with me because she does not think she could put up with me all the time if we were to marry. I am glad to because of her I do not have to worry about her and some of her friends since she tells them how I act at home and what I like. Most of her friends leave me alone because of her, they help me stay out of site of the ones that still flirt with me and the girls that flirt with me that are not her friends to. Father and Ms. Mary seem to becoming close and might marry so Ginny is trying to get her friends to leave me alone since I might become her brother one day. Amy and John have been married for five months now and they are expecting a child. Freddy is talking to Father about marring Maria within a year or so he is working on a new room on his house that I am helping him as is John and Mark. Then a new family that we had known when we had lived in the city moved to town two months later. They have a son that is a year older than Alanna named Gorge they had liked each other when we had lived in the city.
They seem to get right back together and Ginny is keeping all of the town girls away from him for Alanna. I think Alanna may marry before I marry since Gorge is trying to save money for a house he works with me at Mr. Beast's store and is now helping on Freddy's new room. Amy is now nine months pregnant and will have the child any day now. Two weeks after Maria and Freddy's engagement Amy gave birth to twins boys, Harry in honor of Freddy's father, and Henry in honor of our Father.
It has been a year Freddy's new room and a huge new canopied king size bed has been made for it with a wardrobe for the both of them has been made and they are planning the wedding now. Gorge is talking to Father about marring Alanna sometime in the summer. Around her 19th birthday and my 22nd birthday, so that means I have four years before I am older than Mr. Beast's aunt is. I will find a way to free her she sounds like a good person so she should not have to be a beast. I wish to be older so that if she is the one for me then I can marry her if she wishes to marry me. My sisters do not believe that she became a beast and thinks that she just ran off and married a stable boy or one of the servants at the palace.
They refuse to believe that a curse is real and that Mr. Beast's family is under one. I believe and so does Ginny and most of town. If she is a beast then I have to find out how to free her before she can marry anyone any way. The time of Maria and Freddy's wedding, I did the same thing as at Amy and John's, I hide from girls and tried to not ruin their day. I did not even know when Gorge and Alanna were going to let everyone know that they are engaged as well they might not let the town know until Maria and Freddy have been married for a few months. Father is now 57 years old and is ready to just stay home and sit by the fire and do small little carpentry work. He wants me to find someone soon so that he can say he was at all four of his children's weddings, but he still talks with Ms. Mary and I think that within a year or so they may be married. I am working with Mr. Beast and his sons on a new house for a family that has more people than their current house can fit in it and with no room to add a new room to it. So we are building them a new one that can hold all of ten of them with room to spare.
