Chapter 16
"You do not see your self clearly if you think you are only decent or just good looking you are far better looking than most of the men I have seen over the years that is what I could say handsome or very good looking but not just plain old gook looking or just decent. Do you look in mirrors often or do you ever check your reflection before going somewhere or what," said B. she seems shocked at this. "Well when we lived in the city I was not a good looking guy I was scrawny no muscle what so ever, my face had broken out in red spots so I was nowhere good looking. When we moved out of the city, only one mirror come with us and it was my sisters and it stayed in the rooms that they used to get ready. I just got up, got dressed, and went to work. There was no reason for me to look in a mirror just to go to work at a blacksmith and carpenter store. so no i do not look in mirrors and since I have been here I have not seen one so no not in five years have I seen what I look like and I do not care," I tell her. "Nor will you find one for I do not like them never have in fact but I really cannot stand them now. I cannot see how you did not notice any change," she tells me.
"I guess I did not notice it since I was so use to the girls in the city trying to get me to marry them just because of Twilight Queen. So I was use to it somewhat but that did not make me fond of it," I say. "How can a guy not like having girls all over him? I do not think I can name one that does not like it that is not married by the age of 20 years. So how is it you are not married?" she asks. "I guess I just did not find anyone that caught me in her web as Father calls it. See once he met my Mother he could not get her out of his mind, same thing for John, Freddy, Gorge, and Billy. Since he is going to ask for Ginny's hand soon. I wish I could have been at her wedding but I have no clue when it will be so I might just miss it. Is there a way for me to get a letter out to her for when the wedding happens I can send her a gift. See she wants me to write a song for her wedding and I have it all most done and would like to get it to her if I can," I let her know. "There is a way and I can send it to them, who knows how to play so I can send it to them with a note saying what it is so that they can play it for her at the wedding," she lets me know.
"That would be Gorge he can play just not all that well. I have been helping him though so he might be able to play the song I will finish it soon and let you hear it to get someone's opinion on it as I do for every song I write. Normally it is my Father or eldest sister Amy that I ask but since they are not here do you mind?" I ask. "I do not mind for you are good and we have not had many new songs that we play here. See there is songs that we do not know written by people we have never heard of so we do not play them," she tells me. "So you have not heard any of the new ones since you became the way you are then. That is not fun for it means that you had the same songs for over 40 years. It is a good thing then that I play the piano then," I tell her. "Yes it is good that you play see there is a young girl here that wants to learn how to play the piano maybe with you here she might learn something at least she might learn how to play the songs you play," she tells me. "I wish there was a way for me to talk to her so I could help her learn and she could ask questions I might be able to answer as well," I say.
"You would help a little girl learn even though you do not know her? You are strange you seem to want to help everyone you meet is that why people want to have you as a friend or worker or as the girls back in your home as their husbands or son-in-law for their parents. I can see why you were the first one to speak up when you're Father and John told the story to come and stay here with me, even though you did not know me or even knew how long you would be here," she says. "Well from what I understand there is a way to free you I just do not know how to free you but I know I will find it so Mr. Beast can meet you and you can find someone you want to marry. I all so think I will be here until you are freed since I do not plane to leave you here any longer than you have to be since you have been here over 40 years already. It seems to me from what I have learned about you from Mr. Beast you are a good person and from what I have seen I can agree," I tell her. After that, we went to room full different size pianos. I played songs that I wrote and some that I was working on that were not finished yet. B. helped me with them by telling me what she thought about them and that was what I needed to finish them in all I finished three of the songs I was working on. One of which was Ginny's song for her wedding. I asked B. to send it with a letter to my Father as to what it was and who it was for and that I would try to get more sent for everyone else back home.
