Chapter 22
So I go back to the barn and see it is all most done now that is not bad there must be at least 30 men working on it to be so far in the building for just one day. I had been back for three hours when we finished the barn. I noticed that I was starting to smell so I thought I would go back, wash up, and maybe change my clothes as well. But as I got to my room I found a bath waiting for me and the door to the other room closing so I started to undress when for some unknown reason I felt like I should not, so I asked, "Who is there, I know someone is here so who is it?" At this, a letter appeared and I read it. 'I'm Alice, and I came to ask you what you thought about my sister Isabella. Yes, I know you know her name and she does not know that you know it. So do not use it in front of her and I know that the song you finished is for her. It is lovely and I like it. Can you write one for me well once you free us that is for I heard how you need to know whom and how the person acts and likes to write the song. So hurry up and free us.' As I read this, I could not believe it I had found one of her siblings.
"So Alice why are you here and how did you know both of the things you know?" I asked hoping that I would get an answer, and a second letter appeared a few minutes later. 'Well it was not hard since I saw you walking and reading the names on the doors. I all so can hear how the song goes and I see how you feel when you play it for I can and saw you played it that night. You look like you were with her see I am with the two of you almost every time the two of you are together. And the look on your face when you are with her was on you face when you were playing that song, so it was not hard to put two and two together.' So I was right we were not alone when we were with each other. "Well Alice you are smart as seeing as she has not found out that the song is hers so keep quite please." I ask. A third letter now and I have to say she is fast at writing or had the letters written before she came here.
'I will not say anything but she is going to find out one day so hurry and let her know. I also know your family will come here to see you and she will hide most of the time but your sisters will like her. I will leave now so that you can have a bath because you need one. In addition, I did write these letters before I came and I wrote many different ones so that I would not have write a new one before replying to your questions. You have asked most of what I had guessed you would ask so I did not have to give all letters but if you wish I will leave all of them.' Wow so she somehow knew I would ask these questions. "Yes please leave them so I can read them." I say and three more letters appear on my table next to the door as it opens and closes. "Is there anyone else here?" I ask and no letters appeared so I got undressed without a breeze so my servants are not here. I noticed that a new outfit is on the bed I do not know who put it there but right now, I do not care.
When I finished I got dressed and left the room I reached the garden and found B. there, she was sitting by herself, and I do not know if she still wishes to be alone or not so I try to sneak by without being seen. "Josh I know your there," she says. "I did not wish to disturb you B." I tell her. "You did not disturb me I was waiting for you to finish your bath since you finished the barn and was starting to have an odor," she said. "How did you know I was starting to have an odor?" I ask. "I heard the servants in the hall talk about how you went straight to your room to have a bath," she said. "So the servants saw me on my way that is a very good way to find things out then to bad I cannot hear them because I could find out more about you if I could," I said. "You might not like what you find out if you could," she said.
How can she not see that the servants love her? And would not say anything bad about her even if there were something bad about her. I can see she has a temper from the few times I made her mad at something just to get a sense of her temper. I am amazed that she does not see she is good and will be loved by all if she would just show them the real her. "I think I should be the judge of that but you do not have to worry about that now do you," I tell her. "No I do not have to worry about it yet that is," she said. "Wait do you mean I will be able to hear them one day?" I ask. "It may happen as you are here some of the magic will rub off on you no you will not vanish but you will start to hear the servants and your eye sight will start to change and you will see this place in a different way. You will also start to be able to know where I am at all times so you would be able to find me without even leaving your room," she says.
"Wow that is something I do like to know that I might be able to hear the servants but I have to say being able to find you faster would be nice if I needed to find you for something," I tell her. "So the fact that you will start to change in the way you view things and hear things and you do not care?" she says. "No I do not. For if it can help me find a way to free everyone here and that includes you B. then no I do not care at all," I tell her. "Even if you never go back to the way you where before it happened?" she asked. "Nope I do not care let it happen is what I say for I need to find a way to free you. You know I just realized my birthday is coming up soon," I had not even thought of my birthday since I got here I will be 24 soon and that means I need to free her soon. For that means, she has been a beast for 47 years well almost. I cannot even start to think of anything when she said, "Yes you will be 24 soon won't you. That is why I sent the letter for you should see your family on you birthday and I warned them that the horses that your father and John where on will not enter the gates again so they will need new horses," she said.
"That is sweet of you to send them the letter to them saying they can come and visit me on my birthday. Now after that how can you see yourself as a monster? For you are not a monster you are a good person and you need to see that. No matter what you say I still see you as a good person," I tell her. "As long as there are a few that believe that then there might be hope for me. For I cannot see it at all and I do not know if your family will come just because I am here," she said. "I think they will come just to see if I am good and to see if you kept your word on my safety," I tell her. "Well at least you will see your family for a while even if they do not stay long," she says. "Well I can see why they would not for they have homes to go back to I was about to travel when this happened so I have no hurry to get home, say the animals and the garden but my family is tending to them so that is all taken care of," I say.
"Yes they do take care of the house and the animals as well as the apple grove and gardens," B. said. "I do wish I could see the house to see how it is doing and to make sure it is in good condition and just to see how the roses are doing and make sure my sisters have not over pruned them," I said. While thinking of the rose garden they tried to tend to and over pruned to almost beyond the point of being saved, I stepped in and stopped them. "Come I can show you how I see them for you will love how the house looks I think," she said as she walked back to the palace I just noticed that she no longer walked like a cat but like a human that needs a cane.
