I do not own SpyxFamily okay? I don't think the chapters for this story will be very long and this will be a short fic, but hey. Anyway, enough of this A/N, on with the fic!
"You want me to what?" Franky said. "How soon?"
"Get me tickets to the Berlint Symphony on Valentine's Day and get me a reservation to Le Repas D'or" Loid said simply as he picked up a newspaper. "And I will need you to babysit Anya as well."
"Have you thought what the Handler will say about this? She nearly gutted me when she saw your expenses for when you rewarded Anya for getting into Eden. And why can't you just go in and forge the reservations yourself?" Franky said. "And why am I delegated to babysitter on Valentine's Day!" He started to cry.
"I'm sure you'll find someone eventually." Loid said, feeling rather awkward at the breakdown.
"Oh yeah, sure, you're handsome and charming and debonair and all that. LOOK AT ME!" Franky grabbed him.
"Oh, I am sure you'll find someone, women like smart men." Loid said, feeling more and more awkward, and hoping that the compliment to his intelligence would get him to calm down. He could feel the onlookers staring.
"Easy for you to say, you are smart and handsome!" Franky cried.
Loid rolled his eyes and smacked him. "It's for the mission."
"Sure, it is." Franky sassed. "You're really getting into the husband role well. You know how many men I have heard today say they couldn't get what you were asking for. Honestly you may need to just get into Le Repas D'or's reservation books themselves. Like you did with your daughter's grades." Loid looked at Franky darkly. "Not that Anya isn't a good kid and I'd be so happy to babysit her!"
"Good. I don't need Yor's brother snooping around the place….." Loid said.
Meanwhile, at the Blackwell estate, the head chef had obtained all the ingredients to help Anya make the chocolates. As he was setting out the bowls and molds for the candies, Becky walked in, pulling Anya by the wrist. "Hey chef! We're here to learn how to make valentine's day chocolates so that Anya can finally win Damian's heart!"
"Yes!" Anya said determined. If it was to help Loid to achieve world peace, then she was going to be interested in Damian. It would be like in Berlint in Love, Damian would fall in love with her, and would want her to be around him all the time and then would take her to meet his father, and she could bring Loid with her, and he would succeed in his mission. As much as she didn't like to admit, she couldn't study well enough to become an Imperial Scholar and she was still mad that she couldn't tell the truth about when she helped to stop the terrorists. I would have gotten sooooooo many stars for that! And in her mind and image of Professor Henderson seeing a smug Anya came into her mind. 'My word! You saved the world and brought world peace! You get a Stella Star! No wait! You're an imperial scholar now! You are all that is elegant and wonderful with Eden College my dear Anya!' Professor Henderson said in her mind in a voice that sounded a lot like hers when she was mocking his way of speaking.
"Hello, Anya! Earth to Anya! Hello!" Becky said waving her hand in front of Anya's face.
"Oh. Sorry I was daydreaming." Anya smiled.
"About Damian I know. Look I am trying to help you get your guy, even if I don't think he's worth your time. You can do so much better." Becky sighed.
"Let's get onto making these chocolates." The chef said.
"Okay." Anya smiled. The chef pulled out two small chef hats and Becky and Anya put them on as the head chef.
"So, the first thing we need to do is melt the coconut oil." He said as he pulled out a pan and poured in some oil and heated it up on the stove. Anya and Becky looked on confused. "And now we stir in the coco powder."
"But that says unsweetened?" Anya asked.
"We will add in honey and other ingredients." The chef said. "And we will put things like nuts and fruit in them. What would your little boyfriend like in his chocolate?"
Anya paused. She never thought to think of what kind of chocolates were his favorites. All she knew that he didn't like were earthworms, peppers and for some weird reason to her, the national language. "Uhhhhh he doesn't like peppers."
"Why would we put peppers in chocolate?" Becky sighed.
"I know he likes Stella Stars and making his dad happy and football and cartoons, despite acting like he's better than being willing to watch Spy Wars with me." Anya said.
"Well, I have some molds in the shape of stars and footballs. He would like that you made them in shapes he likes." The chef suggested. "And we can do a variety of things to put in. He can find the one he likes the best." At this Anya smiled. "And Miss Blackbell, you should try some chocolate with a little bit of chili powder in it. It can actually be much better than it sounds."
With this, the chef handed Anya a bowl of coco powder, measured out, honey and some nuts. She stirred it around until it was all mixed well together. They did the same with some of the other items to mix in and then filled the molds. Anya looked on carefully as she poured them in, eying the candy for herself. No no, this is for Sy-boy, it is for Papa's mission. She thought as she poured the chocolate. "All full!" She said.
"Good." The chef smiled. "Now what do we do next?" Becky and Anya shrugged. "We put them in the freezer to cool." He said as he opened up the large freezer and placed all the chocolates in to cool. "And in about 30 minutes they will be solid, and we can try a few to see how they came out." He added with a wink.
"I can try some?" Anya said.
"Of course. You want to make sure they are worthy to give to your little boyfriend." The chef said with a ruffle of Anya's hair.
Meanwhile, Yor had come home from the latest assignment the shopkeeper had sent her on. It was quick and easy and gave her plenty of time to come home and make like she was not working as an assassin on the side. Loid had been out all day and while Anya was at Becky's, she figured she could get some work done. Looking at her dress, she sighed. I have gotten more blood and tears on this than I usually do. I will have to take this to the cleaners, luckily they don't ask too many questions, she sighed as she wiped a scuff off the boot. At this, she heard the door open. "Yor! I'm home." Loid said.
"Oh Loid!" Yor smiled. "How was work today? Must have been a tough patient to keep you out most the day."
"Oh, it was," Loid smiled. While he was not actually seeing a patient, he was on a mission sent to him by the handler that needed to be done today. "But coming home to you makes it all better. Take it Anya is still at Becky's?"
"Yes." Yor nodded. "She said Becky's driver would be bringing her back later tonight. They were making chocolates, but she wouldn't tell me why." Yor smiled at Loid's expression. "Maybe our little Anya has a crush on somebody. Maybe that Damian boy in her class?"
"Damian…." Loid paused and thought. Anya is really working on the friendship plan. I have to commend her for that. "He was the one she punched on orientation day, was it not?"
"Yes, but you know how childhood crushes like that can manifest." Yor said as Loid nodded.
"Speaking of love, I got it." Loid said.
"Got what?" Yor asked.
"Reservations for Valentine's Day. I also have Franky lined up to babysit that day as well. You will have nothing to worry about except enjoying yourself to a night of gourmet food and beautiful music. It will be just you and me and no one else." Loid smiled, saying a little louder than he normally would, knowing how nosey some of the neighbors were when it came to the supposed marriage between Loid and Yor and their gossiping about why he works so long and just how he's not a loving husband and father.
"How wonderful." Yor said. "I don't believe it."
"Believe it. The dinner reservations are at 5 and then at 9 is the orchestra show." Loid smiled.
"That's so lovely." Yor blushed.
"Well, the best wife in the world deserves such a good day. Anya loves you and you have made things so much easier for the both of us." Loid added. "It's the least I could do."
With this, Yor blushed and headed back to the couch where she was reading a book. She smiled and sipped the tea she had sitting out when the phone rang a few times, hung up and then called back. "I have it Loid! Don't worry!" she said as she picked up the phone.
"Hello Shopkeeper…." Yor asked. "I have taken care of the delivery like you asked." She said in code to report her successful assassination when others were around.
"Good to hear that." The Shopkeeper said. "But I have another job for you. 9:30 pm and it is on the 14th at the Berlint Symphony hall. Your manager will meet you there with the dossier for your target."
"But…." Yor began.
"Thorn Princess, you're the best we have and need your skills on this job. I will not take no for an answer." The Shopkeeper said as he hung up.
"Oh god….." Yor sighed as she hung up the phone. "Just how am I supposed to handle this assignment? I cannot tell Loid I am just going to go kill someone!" She whispered in a panic. It's Valentine's Day after all and he went to so much trouble to get us these reservations and the tickets! Yor thought as she started pacing the room, trying to come up with ideas other than saying she had to go to the bathroom. Might not be the best excuse but it's the most believable. In out, kill and get back. Just hope I don't get too messy on this job…. She thought as she sat down and tried to read the book while Loid took a shower. I can do this. No problem. I am good at this after all. Shopkeeper is counting on me….. She thought.
So how was that? Good? Bad? Short? Long? Let me know in a review. I don't know how fast I will get to update this, but I promise I will.
