Amerikhan786: she will regain her former strength. Her sons were optimists in their views and despite their power and ocular prowess, they did not see that their gift would be weaponized. Tenji was a key factor in what Kaguya did and Hagaromo and Hamura might not have had a good father figure to learn from if he was alive to learn from.

Codywhite162: I thought she was an interesting character but the issue I had with her in Shippuden was that there was no build-up to her. She just came out of nowhere when Madara was the one that everyone saw as the end goal. The thing about the Otsusuki clan was that their plan reminded me of Dragon Ball z Tree of Might but Tree of Might seemed more interesting to me. And from what I gathered when looking up details on Kaguya, it was Tenji's betrayal and attempt at killing her that drove her to eat the fruit. She was cornered and did what she did.

Sniperbro1998: I don't really like the idea of an apathetic Naruto, so sorry, I won't be going that way. Kaguya will be apathetic enough for both of them but Naruto and her relationship will be a factor along with the apathy she has.

Ryu wolf: glad you like it and I don't see a reason for Kaguya to revive Kushina and I don't know if she has the ability to do so. I know Pain had such an ability but Kaguya is different.

Chapter 2: Settling in

Kaguya was sitting in the new home that was given to her by this Hiruzen Sarutobi. She was sitting on her knees with Naruto sleeping peacefully in her arms. This home was one of the few that was still standing after the Kyuubi attack.

It was a simple single-floor house that was quite spacious. It had three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a large backyard that had two training posts, and a decent size kitchen. Most of the areas were open concept which made it easier to move around.

Kaguya thought that the format of the house was odd since it was much different from what she was used to during the time she spent with Tenju. She hadn't explored it as she had just entered the house and sat down on the carpet that took the living room floor. What she did see in the room were a few items that didn't exist the last time she was awake. She looked down and watched as Naruto slept like nothing else was important to him as her mind went over what she had learned when she was manipulating the memories of Hiruzen.

~flashback~

Kaguya looked down at the unconscious people and was tempted to just take their chakra in order to replenish her diminished reserves, but she chose to hold off on such a thing for now. Lifting her hand, she brought the one in red and white robes up to float in front of her. She opened her Rinne-sharingan eye, forcing the old man to open his own eyes before they gained a purple Rinnegan appearance. She lowered her arm, bringing the old man to stand in front of her before she began her inquiry. "Tell me, who is this babe's mother and father?"

Hiruzen, in a drone-like voice, answered her. "His parents are Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, and Kushina Uzumaki, a survivor of the Uzumaki clan's destruction."

Kaguya didn't know what a "hokage" was but she could learn about it later. She continued with her task. "Where can I find them?"

Hiruzen slowly shook his head. "They are no longer among us. They were killed hours ago defending their son from the Kyuubi. Though they would have died regardless as no jinchuriki can survive the removal of their bijuu, and with how the Kyuubi was out, it means that it had broken out of Kushina, which would lead to her death. While Minato would have died as he had used the Reaper death seal to put the Kyuubi into his son."

Kaguya looked down at the boy and wondered what that would mean. She, with her Rinne-Sharingan eye open, could feel the hint of the ten-tail chakra coming from the boy, but it was altered. So much so that it was barely recognizable. She thought about what she just heard and made the connection that if she were to try and remove it from him, he would die. And with how she wanted to stay with Naruto, she would not do that.

Choosing to move things along, she asked another question. "Where am I, who is the current leader, and what would be the best way to find residence?"

"You are in Konoha, the village hidden in the leaves, and due to the death of our Fourth Hokage. I have been reinstated into the role. The best way to gain residence here is to file a request and await approval but due to the attack we just suffered, it could take a while before anything is processed. That could take months due to others most certainly going to do the same"

Kaguya did not have the patience to wait for things and she did not know how things were done, so she chose to just force in a suggestion into his mind to allow her to stay somewhere. This was the only other thing that needed to be done as she did not have to worry about Naruto's parents since they were dead. Channeling chakra into her third eye, she began to implant herself into memories and put in the command that he would give her a place to stay without going through all of the hassles he had just suggested. Once she was finished with him, she focused her chakra into the minds of those still lying on the ground to do the same thing. With this old man being the leader, she would not have to worry about problems that could stall her.

Hiruzen blinked and saw Kaguya standing in front of him with Naruto in her arms. As he saw the baby sleeping peacefully in her arms, he felt that he had just found the solution that he had been hoping for. His mind went to how he had just discussed Naruto's raising with her and how she had gracefully accepted the task."I can see that Naruto has already grown attached to you. That is wonderful as I was worried about who would be best to take him in. With you being gracious enough to raise him, I do not have to worry about his upbringing."

Kaguya nodded as her eyes focused on the old man. She hadn't been able to fully control his mind but she was able to implant suggestions of her being trustworthy and a perfect fit for Naruto. She had also erased their first encounter here from their minds, which caused her to tire.

Hiruzen was able to see that Kaguya was tired and looked over his shoulder to the Anbu behind him, who were just standing idle. "One of you, go see if there are any spare homes that can be used for Kaguya to live in with Naruto. Her original home was destroyed during the attack so she needs a new one."

One of the Anbu nodded before disappearing from sight to complete the task.

Hiruzen smiled before he gestured for her to take a seat in order to wait. "When the Anbu completes his task, he will come here and escort you to your new home. Unfortunately, I will not be able to as I must look over the reports of the damages before I begin going over what must be done." He stepped forward and gently ran his hand over Naruto's head. "Kushina and Minato asked me to watch over the boy but with you taking up the role, I have no doubt that Nartuo will grow to be happy and strong." Giving Kaguya one more meaningful look, he excused himself from the room. Once he was in the hall, there was a feeling in his gut telling him that something was wrong, but it quickly faded away before he continued his walk back to his old office.

~flashback end~

She had been escorted to this new residence by the Anbu and as she walked, she saw the destruction that had taken over the village. Not only that, she saw the differences in clothing and architecture. Sure there are some similarities but more differences. She also noticed that she garnered a lot of attention from everyone she walked past but it was only a passing glance or look of astonishment before they went back to fixing up whatever it was they were doing.

She chose to move past those thoughts as she looked back down at the baby. She reopened her Rinne-sharingan as she focused on the concentration of odd chakra.

She blinked as she suddenly found herself standing in a large room that was void of anything other than a set of bars that seemed to go on into a dark void that took up both her left and right. She looked back and forth but could not see any form of walls. It was then she realized that her arms were at her sides, empty, which meant that Naruto was no longer in her arms. She activated her Byakugan in order to find him but she paused when her eyes caught sight of a large amount of chakra directly in front of her. It was the same chakra she had seen Naruto have condensed in his belly. Despite her worry for Naruto, she focused on the mass of chakra in front of her. This was a chance for her to regain a large amount of her chakra back and potentially reawaken the ten-tails. She walked closer to the bars and reached out in order to call the chakra to her.

However, the chakra would not go past the bars. It was as if the bars were a barrier that kept it within. She grew frustrated as the chakra would not obey her command and began to walk closer to the bars.

"HOW THE HELL ARE YOU HERE?!"

Kaguya looked up as a pair of red eyes opened up and peered down at her.

Out of the darkness came the nine-tailed fox, bearing its fangs at the woman that stood on the other side of the bars.

Kurama could not believe that he was staring at the very woman none of the bijuu wanted to ever see again. And one that they thought would be impossible to be released as they were all told of their origins and what could happen if their chakra was ever returned to the Juubi's husk that lay dormant on the moon. He let out an angry hiss at her as he was ready to fight to maintain his independence and not allow this woman to destroy what his father had tried to protect.

Kaguya was not intimidated by the show of aggression as she was sure that even as she was at the moment, she could deal with it. Especially since as far as she could see was constructed of chakra much like her Juubi so she could absorb it if it attacked. But her mind was focused on something she did not expect from the beast. "You are able to speak."

Kurama was still growling but had heard the statement. It did catch him off guard but he did not stop his show of intimidation. "Is it so shocking that I am able to think enough to deny you or your desires?!" He had felt the small tug on his chakra, it was what woke him up from his slumber, but he was surprised to see that she hadn't taken his chakra already.

Kaguya looked up at him as she thought about this. "I was not expecting you to have enough awareness in order to speak to me." She had stopped attempting to absorb his chakra as she had not been able to do so. She would find out how to do it later but she grew intrigued at how he could speak. Wanting some more answers, she asked. "Tell me, what are you and why do you feel like a part of my Juubi?"

Kurama was now fully surprised by the questions as he was expecting her to attack him in order to reabsorb him. Yet here she was, confused about his very existence. He tensed his limbs to move in case she did anything. "How do you not know what I am? With how I was created, I would have assumed that you would know of my existence." Despite her stoic blank look, he could tell she was curious, which just got on his nerves. He was tempted to charge up Bijuu-dama and blast her to oblivion, but he had experience being sealed so he was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to gather enough chakra unless the seal was removed or loosened. For a minute, neither of them did anything other than stare at each other till Kurama chose to answer. "I am the Kyuubi." He wasn't going to give his name to her or any more information for obvious reasons. His eyes analyzed her for any action that she might take but so far she just stood there.

Kaguya knew that based on the name, and the feeling that came from him, it was clear that he was truly related to her demon tree. She just had no idea how. Something she would have to find out gradually. Another question came to her. "Where are we?"

Kurama narrowed his eyes on her. 'How does she not know where she is? I only saw the baby for a second and I know that this must be inside him. She got in here on her own and she doesn't even realize it.' He realized that this was a very bad situation for him since if she already had the human baby, she had quick access to him anytime she wanted. But her not knowing made the idea that she came here specifically for him not plausible. His eyes shifted to the bars, which he could tell were keeping his chakra contained, and came up with a few ideas. The one that made more sense was that the seal was keeping her from taking his chakra. He just couldn't think of any other reason.

"Answer me."

He was brought out of his thoughts by the command and sneered at her as he despised this woman, and her sense of superiority was pissing him off. He had an idea that he wasn't sure would work but he had done this to his previous containers, and this was an intruder, someone that had less hold on this mindscape than the owner. Standing at his full height, he channeled his full power before he sent out a shockwave at Kaguya. He felt some satisfaction when he saw the woman struggle to stay on her feet. 'Whatever weakened her should happen again so I can kill her if I ever get out of here.' He channeled more of his power and felt glee as Kaguya was blown off her feet and toward the wall.

Kaguya could not believe that her power was so weak that she was blown off her feet so easily. She couldn't think of this more as she slammed her back into the wall.

Kaguya's eyes shot open and she saw she was back in the very room she had been in previously. She looked down to see Naruto still in her arms. Her eyes scanned the room for anything that could tell her what had just happened but so far, it was just a room. 'Was I sent into another dimension without me knowing? No, that can not be it as I felt no chakra focused on me.' Her mind kept thinking about what that meeting could have been before she felt something shaking in her arms. She looked down to see Naruto shivering and trying to get more warmth from her body. She brought her long sleeve up and wrapped him up to keep him warm.

She held him closer as she thought about how she was doing something very different from how she treated her previous sons.

Before, during their upbringing, she had left Hagoromo and Homura with Wet-nurses and caretakers. She would oversee some of the things they would do and make sure that they knew that their mother was there. However, for Naruto, she felt that she should be more integrated into his life. And with her no longer ruling over the land, she had the chance to do so. But she also had to gain some current information as she was certain that things had become much different since the time she had been awake.

Before, the soldiers would use bows and swords. Yet the fighters she had seen with the Hokage, fought and moved differently.

She had some research to do and she will regain her power. And once that happens…..she will discover what she can do.

She got up from the ground and moved deeper into the house to find a bed to use. Once she found the largest bed in the house, She moved toward it and pushed the blankets to the side before laying herself onto the soft comfortable bed, with Naruto sleeping on top of her breasts, still bundled in her sleeve. Her eyes went to his stomach area and wondered what it was that happened to allow her to speak to the Kyuubi but if it was actually inside Naruto, she would always know where it is for later use. It seemed very different from when she absorbed the Juubi as there was no communication between her and it but things have obviously changed. Choosing to let this go for the moment, she held Naruto closer and closed her eyes so she could retire for the night.

~elsewhere~

In a dimly lit room sat an old man that had a good majority of his body bandaged up, including the right side of his face.

This was Danzo Shimura, one of the elders of Konoha and the leader of Root.

Root was an organization that had shinobi trained to be emotionless and would obey orders regardless of the severity of them. And they were simple shinobi as they were trained to Anbu levels, with the weak being discarded and the strong cutting off their heads. They were also shinobi with Kekkei Genkais or special clan techniques, and each one that possessed them was kidnapped from their clan either in infancy or as children when they had some of the clan techniques taught to them. They were trained so that If they were asked to kill themselves, or even kill a baby, they would do so without hesitation. However, the shinobi were trained to be more loyal to Danzo than to the village, which in turn makes them an army of shinobi under Danzo's control.

Appearing in front of the desk the man sat at was one of his Root agents. A nondescript agent that could blend in with the other agents of Root. They even wear Anbu masks that have no real distinguishing features.

Danzo looked up from the paper in his hand. "Report."

The Root agent began. "Sir, we have confirmed that the jinchuriki is no longer in the possession of Hiruzen. Just under two hours ago, it was given to an unknown woman who has taken up residence in one of the districts located in one of the eastern centers."

Danzo's face scrunched up a bit as this was not something he expected to happen. He was hoping that he would be able to acquire the weapon by speaking with Hiruzen to allow it to be under his care. He was going to use the fact that the Kyuubi was released as a sign that Kushina was unable to control the beast and it got out due to her emotions running rampant due to her pregnancy. He would tell his old teammate that under his care, the weapon would be emotionless and fully under control. Yet now the thing was under the care of a woman. Now that it was being cared for, he wouldn't be able to kill the woman and get it because he would be the first suspect. "Is there any information about the woman that we can use? Anything that can aid us in having her give us the child?"

The agent shook his head. "No, we searched through records and found nothing about the woman. We believe that she might be a rogue Hyuga since her eyes are that of the clan but we are unable to go through clan records due to their security."

Danzo thought about this. "If it was a Hyuga then he would have problems since she could still fall under clan matters, which would bring her under their scrutiny. If she was under the watch of the Hyugas, he would have less of a chance to get her cooperation. "Describe this woman to me."

The agent gave a description of her features and Danzo could not help but wonder why a woman with such recognizable features is unknown.

"Horns. Perhaps that is why the woman was banished from the Huyga clan but we must not assume anything. She might be a Hyuga born outside of the clan. With the robes and clothing you describe, she might have been raised with such a high ranking. But why would Hiruzen give the weapon to her?" He thought about this new development and still felt like he was missing pieces. He had to play this carefully till he would be able to enact his plan for the Uchiha. This whole event has made things easier for him to manipulate in his favor but he still had to get things to work his way till he made his move. "Observe the woman. I want to know anything you find out about her and you are to report it to me. I will discuss this matter with Hiruzen, though that will have to wait a few days since he has once again taken what I required to raise Konoha to its rightful place in the world. Use discretion, if she truly is a Hyuga, she will have the capability to spot you as we do not know the range of it. Basic surveillance for now."

The Root agent nodded before vanishing from his spot.

Danzo leaned back in his chair and thought about this woman. "What game are you playing, Hiruzen?" He knew he was missing something, and he needed to know if he wanted to win this new game Hiruzen Was playing. But once he got his new additions, things should get easier.

~Back with Kaguya~

She was sitting against the headrest of the bed as she slowly stroked Naruto's head as he had woken up due to hunger. She watched as he slowly suckled on her breast with peace on his face. Flashes of the angered face from her sons appeared in her mind, a complete contrast to what she saw now. She thought back to the time she had seen the expression Naruto had on her sons' faces, yet they were far and in between. She wished to see more of the peaceful expression Naruto had, so she was going to put her focus on him. She still had plans for peace but she felt that she should try Hagaromo's way. But she would not be able to do it herself as she did not know what it was Hagaromo saw. So she would put in her hopes that her nursery would gain peace onto the shoulders of the babe in her arms. She would still take action when needed but Naruto could potentially succeed where she failed. She continued to stroke his head as it was calming to her, and she channeled chakra into her hand before she brushed her hands from his closed eyes to the top of his head. She continued to stroke in that manner for a few more minutes till she felt her chakra drain.

What she did took an immense amount of chakra and she wasn't sure if she had done it enough, but it would be a gift to her new son. One not of her blood but could share in her dream of peace. Potentially one that everyone could enjoy.

She jumped a bit as she felt a bit more force in his suckling and she looked down to see the face of discomfort he had. She continued to stroke his head till he regained a peaceful expression. She noticed that he had also fallen asleep while feeding and continued to suck in his sleep. She gently removed his mouth from her breast and covered up as she readjusted him in her arms. She sat there with the moonlight bathing them in its pure glow as she wondered what their future in this new unknown world would be like. She would just have to wait and see what this… Konoha would have to offer.

Kind of short and not much happened here but it set some things up.

And the fic needs a better title. The one it has now just doesn't roll off the tongue

Ok, just to clear some things up (just in case). This is before the Uchiha massacre, so Danzo does not have his Sharingan arm or Shisui's eye.

As for Kaguya being in the dark about some of the things around her. I rewatched the series and did some research on her abilities, and I was right in my assumption that she does not know any jutsu. She uses abilities that require chakra but they are just abilities like the Susanoo, a powerful ability but not really a jutsu, like the Chidori or fireball jutsu. There is also the fact that she would not know of sealing, she has been sealed but sealing tags and sealing jutsus are more advanced. In her time, they used bows, arrows, and swords. Now she is in the world of kunai, shuriken, and jutsu. She has much to learn.

The reason she could not absorb Kurama's chakra is because of the seal that keeps him trapped inside Naruto. Sealing techniques are something she doesn't know so it is a hindrance to her attempt to regain her power. Also, I like Kurama and don't want to get rid of him. She WILL regain her power, don't worry about that.

Now for Naruto. I will have him act the way he normally would, but he won't be an idiot like in canon. It's hard to write a character that is dumb in almost everything he does. He will also be far more powerful than canon but that should be a given, especially with the foreshadowing I did

A lot of you are saying that I should pair Kaguya up with Naruto. That is kind of a thing I didn't think of, especially since I am setting it up in a certain way. It is technically possible but again, I was setting up their relationship to be more familial.

Now for the next few chapters, would you readers like for me to make chapters that take place during the events or should I get to canon time, and have the events happen through flashbacks? Let me know in a review.

Now, I must inform you that my updates are going to be slowing down. Not really cause I want to but I have started to practice animating. So far I can only do simple animations but I have plans on animating specific scenes in some of my fics. And with the number of fics I have to update as well, along with life getting in the way, yeah, things are slowing down.
