Nashi
This time, she wasn't confused when she woke up. Her eyes hurt a bit due to the sudden clarity, but she was ok. She looked around and saw Yume, Aiden and Lyra all fast asleep.
"You're awake," Wendy smiled, coming from her other side, "I'm glad. I've never seen anyone so injured before. Are you still in pain?"
Nashi shook her head negatively. She felt discomfort when she moved and she felt empty magically, but she was fine.
Her senses felt sharper, which meant that she was at least recovering inside.
"Can you stand?" Wendy asked her and she tried to stand up slowly. When she did, she took a few steps and slowly gained confidence.
"Thank you," she said to Wendy, knowing she had healed her, "you've done a lot."
Wendy smiled.
"We have breakfast downstairs, you should eat," she said, and Nashi agreed, following her down. She took in the guild and how perfect it looked. She hadn't seen that structure in a lifetime.
Mira was behind the bar pouring some beer to a guest when the girl arrived. The conversation practically died down and all eyes were on her.
"I'm assuming they're all in on the time travel thing," she spoke to Wendy, who seemed uncomfortable.
"Well, Erza-san told us last night, but she didn't know much," the girl admitted, "I saw your guild mark though, and it's real," she looked embarrassed to admit that she had checked the mark, but Nashi didn't care, "but you have another mark, too."
Nashi raised her arm slightly and revealed a mark in her ribs, under her left arm. It was a fiery creature, but they had a hard time identifying it.
"Phoenix Shadow," Nashi spoke, looking at the symbol, and there was clear pride in her voice, "we… all of my friends are from this guild, we joined it recently," she explained, and her voice grew colder.
"I thought one guild mark disappeared once you left," Erza spoke, frowning, and Nashi shook her head.
"We didn't leave," she said, "look, I just brought a bunch of people from the future, so you can assume it's not because it was all fun and games," she said roughly, "I didn't expect them to come to you guys for help, though I'm guessing that I wouldn't have survived otherwise," at that, everyone nodded, "things were… hard in my time. There weren't many of us alive, and the ones left were fighting everyday until we lost. We're here because I'm hoping to prevent what's coming."
"So the time god actually allowed you to go back and change time?" Makarov seemed surprised.
"If we don't, there won't be anything left," she shrugged, "even the gods died, so yes, we can change it. We have to."
"So everyone from our guild is dead? The people who come after us, I mean," Wendy asked, now a bit scared, and Nashi nodded.
She was about to say more when she caught a familiar scent and realized that she'd lowered her guard. Moving fast, she opened the guild doors just as a girl fell in her arms, and blood stained the ground.
"What the-" Laxus cursed, running towards them and looking beyond the door.
"There's no one else out there," Nashi told him, helping the girl.
"Kori?" Aiden's voice made a lot of Fairy Tail members turn to see him running downstairs, with Yume and Lyra right behind him. The trio glanced at Nashi, but focused on the injured girl;
"Aiden?"
"I'm here," he spoke, stepping forward and taking her from Nashi, smiling soothingly, "come on, let's get you help."
"N-No," Kori pushed him aside, "not help, not me," she coughed and a dark substance fell in her hands. Aiden got even more worried, and Yume approached them, "help them."
The words made Nashi tense.
"Who's them?" She asked, serious, looking at all of them, "who else made it here?"
"All of us," Yume answered, frowning, "everyone who gave you magic, everyone in that circle," she added, clarifying it and Nashi let out a frustrated groan.
"They went out on their own? On a different timeline? Please tell me you figured out we were in the past right away," she added, now exasperated.
"Who cares?!" Aiden shouted at her, "Kori's hurt! Screw what we should have done!"
"Nashi," Kori, despite the argument, seemed relieved to see the pink haired girl there, "please, help. You have to track them down! They're going to die!"
"I can't track people like that, that's a different sort of magic," Nashi said somberly, "I need more than that, Kori. Where did you guys go?"
"Where's my sister?" Aiden added, clearly more worried about one person in particular.
"She's with them," Kori leaned on him before she fell down, and he gave her support, "we were outmatched and… they'll die in twelve hours. I'm sorry, I-"
She fainted.
Wendy quickly hurried to try and help, and Lyra, now rested, started singing. Still, her wounds seemed too deep and she clearly hadn't recovered from giving Nashi magic yet, so it wasn't enough to get her fully healed. When Wendy stopped, she and Lyra seemed close to their limit.
"My, that girl is really hurt," Makarov spoke, "what kind of enemies are you lot meddling with in a time that you don't even belong to?"
Nashi shrugged.
"I have no idea of what they were up to, but right now, Aiden's right, that's irrelevant," she said, stepping away from them, "where did you guys part ways?" that she asked Aiden.
"Hargeon," he said, "you were nearly dying, so Yume, Lyra and I stayed, the others left together. We can show you the direction they went," he added, and she nodded.
"We don't know how long we have," Yume whispered, "we don't know how long it took her to get here."
"Is she going to be okay?" Lyra asked Wendy, who was still checking on Kori. The bluenette nodded.
"She should be fine, but it might take her a few hours to wake up. She needs rest… wait!"
"Aiden!"
He had shocked Kori awake the second that he heard that Kori would be fine, earning shouts and enraged yells at him to get out and treat people with kindness. Ignoring everyone, he made Kori look at him.
"Focus," he said, looking into her eyes, and she struggled to sit up, "what happened? Where's my sister?"
At that question, everyone stopped talking, but they still looked displeased.
"A… Eretria," Kori said weakly, "she wanted to wipe them out sooner," she explained, and Aiden looked proud, while Nashi facepalmed, clearly displeased. "We… we made it there, but the knights," she covered her eyes, but he knew she was crying, "there were too many and they were so strong. Maine… well, Mauri came out, tried to escape, but because we all gave our magic to Nashi she was too weak. So she set me free - I was near the ocean, so I jumped in. It was all we could do to get someone to escape… get me to escape and…"
Aiden closed his hands and sparkles came out of them, preventing Wendy from coming closer.
Nashi grabbed his wrist, grounding him and calming him down. He looked at her and they both nodded.
"You realize we're not at full strength, right?" she asked him, and he nodded.
"I know, and you owe us an explanation because of that," he said, "but we can worry about that later. I'm going," he added, and Yume stepped forward.
"Wait, you can't just up and go-" Erza spoke, but Nashi raised a hand.
"I brought them here, I never told them what I was doing," she said, "and they didn't know what to do or not, so they're my responsibility," she was fierce when she spoke, and Erza seemed impressed, "thank you for your help, we owe you."
"At least let us help," Mira offered, "if you're from our guild in the future…"
Aiden and Yume turned towards Nashi, both shocked.
"We're from 100 years in the future, it's not like you guys owe us anything," Nashi shrugged, "if you could look after Kori and Lyra, I'd appreciate it, but that's all we need really-"
"No!" Lyra shouted, "I'm not staying behind!"
Nashi knelt in order to look the little girl in the eye.
"Look, usually you're not someone I leave behind when going to battle, but this time you're out of magic, kid," she said and it was the first time she sounded kind, "besides, if something happens, one of us has to stay here and tell them everything they need to know."
Lyra bit her lip, visibly holding back her tears, but she nodded before hugging Nashi.
"Come back," she spoke, almost begging the dragon slayer, "I don't care how you do it, but do it, ok? Promise me you'll come back."
Nashi nodded and let go of the kid, stepping away and leaving with Aiden and Yume. Aiden threw one last look behind his shoulder, and couldn't shake the feeling that he was leaving a dream behind.
Except that right as they stepped away from the guild, something fell down and he and Nashi got thrown apart.
"What the-" Nashi cursed, and dodged as something dark came at her, "crap! Aiden, go! Rescue them, don't fight, got it?"
As she said that, she joined both hands and golden dust surrounded the dark shadows - four of them - giving Aiden room to run. Nashi raised one hand and called for the stars, and four golden spears destroyed the shadows.
"What the hell?" Fairy Tail ran outside and saw the shadows turning to dust. Yume approached Nashi.
"Someone's close," she said to the Dreamer, "they're level 2. We need to fill them in," at that she turned to Erza, who looked intrigued.
