Chapter 3

After the discussion the rest of Izuku's family went to bed, but he decided to go on a jog. Now that the plan was laid out his brain was racking with the things that still needed to be done. Toshi would need to be trained with his quirk and physically, Toga would need some acting lessons, Tomura would need to get used to being "evil", and his dad would also need a way to stay hidden. He wanted everything they did to be secret until trust was gained and non one ever got trust from his family unless they picked them first. Izuku passed through a park and rested against a tree. There was so much to do and so little time to do it, but that was the plan. Everyone would be punching themselves these next few months and Izuku wasn't going to hold back either.

Izuku looked around the clearing and noticed he was close to where his mother and him "lived". This was the park that Bakugo and he used to hang out and play. It was where he took his first step, where he first saw Bakugo's quirk, where he first got hit by said quirk, and now this is where he was going to swear to change the world. He took the knife out from his back pocket and carved something into the tree behind him. He got up and continued on his way and the carving in the tree said, "This place is the beginning of the end."

As his run continued he started to feel a little hungry. He hadn't eaten much for dinner, he was too focused on Toshi, and now his body was reminding him of just that. He stopped at a 24 hour convenience store to grab himself a snack before going over to the alley next to it to eat his snack. As he was eating he heard a crash from further down the alley. Izuku paused while eating and pulled out his knife as he crept slowly towards the area the noise came from. Another crash occurred and he peaked around the corner connection to another alley before jumping from behind the wall with his knife ready. A pair of green eyes stared back at him. A pair of green eyes that were connected to a small fluffy body. A pair of green eyes that belonged to a cat. A cat.

Izuku chuckled to himself and put away his knife while leaning down to pet the furry fella. He reached out only to notice a flash of something white on the black cat's neck. The poor thing had gotten itself tangled up in a plastic bag that seemed to have picked up some cans along the cat's journey. "Here, little guy, let me get that thing off of ya." He reached down and grabbed the beg with his hand before getting his knife out once more to cut it off the cat's neck. As soon as it was free the cat bolted and hid underneath a trash can as Izuku watched it disappear into the night.

"That was kind of you." A voice said from behind him. Izuku faked a jump as the man spoke. He knew he was behind him. He knew who was behind him. He had run into Earerhead in less than flavorful salutations and had been a target of the man ever since. "Not many people would have cared to free that cat. Now do you mind telling me why someone your age is out at this time of night on a school night?" The hero questioned.

"I was getting a snack. Sometimes I have to take a run because my brain won't stop thinking and I got hungry." He answered. He could run or attack the pro, but this meeting would work out in his favor. He knew that Eraserhead taught the 1-A class at UA and that if he met Izuku as a cat-saving, hungry, poor child that he wouldn't give him a second glance when a tractor was discovered at UA.

"Do you not have food at home?" Eraserhead asked as he look Izuku up and down. So the hero did care.

"I do, but my house is a good bit away," half lie. His fake house was, but his real home was nearby, not that Eraser needed to know that, "I had money so I just bought a snack."

Eraser stared at him for a little longer before giving in. Either he believed him or he had decided it wasn't worth the headache. Either one was okay with Izuku. "Do you want me to walk you home or can you find your own way?" Izuku smiled, it was time to mess with him.

"What just because I'm quirkless I can't take care of myself or find my home following the same route I have taken for years?" Eraser seemed startled by his hostility, good. "Along with that I have run this same path for years, at the same time, and you are just now noticing me. I think you came down here just for the cat, well goodbye Eraser." With that he jogged off barely keeping himself from laughing. He really was a crazy little shit. But that wasn't the only thing that night was going to throw at him. A few blocks down, the opposite way that Eraser had come, he heard a little girl's scream. He quickly ran down the alleyway and without stopping sent a flying kick into a man's head. He went down quickly and quietly as he turned to the little girl curls up in the corner.

She had one horn on her head and stark white hair that stood out in the dark alleyway. He knelt down in front of the scared child and started to talk to her, "Hello there, you are safe now." Izuku cringed at how close he sounded to the "heros" that roamed the streets.

"Hello." She said in a small shaky response, "Who are you?" She had started to unfurl herself from her curled position to take a better look at Izuku.

"No one important, but you can call me Midori." Izuku answered before realizing what he had just said. How could he say something like that? It would be way too easy to identify him by "Midori", but the damage was done and now the child was reaching for his head. He leaned down and let her grab his hair and look at it.

"Your hair's weird." She said as her face scrunched up in confusion. Izuku couldn't help but laugh at that.

"Yes it is. Curly and green isn't a combination you see a lot." He spoke as he gently pried the girl's hands out of his hair, "So what is your name?"

The girls shrunk a little into herself and Izuku was worried he had done something wrong until a worried voice came from the main street. "Eri! Eri, where are you?"

"Papa!" Eri yelled as she raced to the voice. Izuku followed to make sure it wasn't a voice quirk. Considering someone had just tried to kidnap her he couldn't be too safe.

"Eri there you are." Came the relieved voice of a man with a plain white doctor's mask on his face and brown hair. He was also wearing gloves and long sleeved shirts and pants.

"Glad you found her." Izuku spoke up before he could think better of it. The man's head snapped to him and Izuku suddenly found himself being charged by another man that was behind him. Izuku dodged to his left and had to duck under a punch from another man. He stepped back a few feet and took in his surroundings. There were three unknown men, including the father, so that meant three threats. He couldn't go after the dad because he had Eri in his hands and he knew he wouldn't come after him for the same reason, but the other two men were obviously bodyguards of some kind or just extra protection. So either someone rich, someone powerful, or both. He looked over the father once again. He would guess both by the way he held himself and the way his guards held themselves as well. They were trained and smart. Both of them were waiting for him to make his next move while closing off any easy exits. He had enough information to attack so he did so with half of his speed and might. He dodged, punched, kicked, and threw the men around until Eri's voice reached his ears.

"No! Don't hurt Midori." The boss, father, raised his hand and the fight stopped. Izuku popped his shoulder back into the palace after it was dislocated from being slammed into the wall by one of the men charging. Eri got down from her father's arms and ran to him while his father called her name. She ran right up to him and hugged him tight around his midsection. "Thank you for saving me Midori." She said in the sweetest voice Izuku had ever heard and he nearly melted. He slowly bent down to hug Eri and she latched onto his neck as he stood up. Now he had an armful of a child.

"Eri, I don't think that your dad likes that I'm holding you very much." He told the girl as he took in the fury in the man's eyes. He looked at the other two guards and saw that they had some bruises and cuts from their scuffle. By the fact that one of his blades were in his hands Izuku could guess that that one had a teleportation quirk of some kind. Whether it only worked on weapons or not was a different question. The other man had spawned some kind of barrier that knocked Izuku back during their fight, that is what led to his dislocated shoulder, so he had a barrier quirk. The only unknown was the main boss himself; and he was currently glaring at him like he had personally offended him.

Eri had looked up at his accusation and once she caught the eyes of her father proudly proclaimed, "I want to play with Midori!" That made everyone, including Izuku, reel back a little.

"Why would you want to play with someone dirty and deceased?" The father asked and Izuku took offense. He wasn't that dirty and he wasn't sick. He voiced his opinion on the matter.

"I just went on a run and I'm not sick. What are you talking about?"

"Quirks are diseases that are killing mankind as we know it. They are disgusting and used as an excuse for inexcusable actions much too often. I hate them and anyone that abuses them, like you." The man finished his powerful awe inspiring speech only to get laughter in response. Izuku couldn't help it; it was too ironic.

"How can I abuse something I don't have?" He answered their silent question with one of his own and the looks on their faces were priceless. "That's right I'm quirkless." He stated proudly as he stared at the boss in the eyes. He looked unbelieving, like that was the last response he expected to hear, but did. The boss took a few steps forward before stopping.

"Truly you are quirkless?" He asked once again and Izuku had to refrain from rolling his eyes.

"No, I just go around telling people to get pity." He said with a bit too much sarcasm in his voice. The boss just smiled and nodded his head.

"Do you want or need a job?" He asked suddenly and Izuku was taken aback. He didn't need one per say, but if he was going to be going to high school from a barely making it family it would be weird for him to have as much money as his father gave him in allowance.

"What are you getting at?" He asked instead. He wanted to know exactly what this man wanted before he answered.

"If you wouldn't mind I would like for you to watch after Eri for me. She is very important to me and she's stubborn to a boot. She doesn;t like listening to very many people, nor does she trust very easily and yet she's asleep in your arms." Izuku had to look down to see that she was in fact asleep in his arms. "I would like you to watch her if you could."

Izuku thought about it. He knew nothing of these people except that they were powerful and smart, the little girl that was asleep in his arms was the main boss's daughter, and the boss didn't like quirks. He needed to know more.

"What exactly do you do for a living? I can tell that you don't do anything legal, but how illegal are your activities?" His question once again caught them off guard. He was on a roll.

"We are Yakuza. We do loans and such, but nothing like human trafficking, drugs, or anything with lasting effects." To a normal person it would seem as if he had told Izuku nothing, but it was the opposite. They killed and did hitmen runs, but no addicting people, experiments, or kidnapping. Sounded good to him.

"I'm in, but you must understand I'm not exactly in the completely legal business myself, but I can see we have about the same moral code." Three for supriding the Yakuza. "As long as you don't try and figure out who I am in my "normal" life or underground we will have no problems, do we have a deal?"

The boss stared at him for a while before nodding his head, "That seems fair, but what if we stumble upon you by accident?"

"As long as you don't try and stop me or anyone with me, or spread rumors then we should be good." He paused for a second, "Be warned, what my group and I are doing is going to seem against our morals from an outside view and that is what we want, so if you do find out who I am, don't jump to any conclusions."

The boss nodded his head once again before gently grabbing Eri from him and stepping back to his guards. "Will meeting back up here in a week's time to hammer things out work with your schedule?"

"Yes, same time and place." With that Izuku disappeared into the darkness of the alleyway while marking the spot on his phone. He had gotten a better look at the boss and he was happy to report that he had found a powerful ally. "It was nice to meet you Kai Chisaki, or shall I say Overhaul?" The Shie Hassaikai will be a great allie to have in the future." With that Izuku finished his run and returned home for a shower and bed. Just in time to have his alarm go off, damn insomnia.
