"Have you ever wanted to be something you know you're not, child?" Asked a masked woman who wore purple robes and wore a large cat mask. She also had a backpack that had a large collection of animal masks and she was followed around by a large collection of cats both small and large but most of the large ones only reached about halfway of the mask seller. This was one of the weirdest people Luz has ever seen but not as weird as the mask she was offered. It was an black cat mask but had some weird things hanging from the sides. Luz was not sure if the woman was a demon or a witch or maybe a cat demon because she could have sworn she saw a tail. Luz was an young Hispanic girl who didn't have the best of life in the human realm or at least that what Eda thought when she first met her luz was eye missing and her arms having scars that looked like they were done an cult but every time she asked Luz about it she just broke down crying and so Eda stopped asking after the kids third day.
Luz was about to say something as she was looking at the black mask she saw but then Eda came and said "she is not buying what you are selling, Maskseller."
Luz wondered what was going on as some of the cats looked fearful while others hissed at Eda. But all the seller did was look up in the sky and watched as the clouds started to form and spoke with very little emotion "come on Children we need to go home before the rain comes." Like that the mask seller ran on all four off with all the cats following her.
"Eda, who was that?" Luz asked as she looked at her mentor.
"I don't know and I know all my competition and whoever they are there is no one I have ever met and if I don't know them then they are trouble for everyone." Eda said as she watched the mask seller run off with all her cats coming with her.
West side of Bonebough
"Come on hurry up Children before the boiling rain comes." the Maskseller said as opened the door to an abandoned building that had trees growing out and with most of the windows boarded up. The city never destroyed it because all the people who tried ended up disappearing so everyone left it to rot. This is where the mask seller made her home.
"Fuck I had her I had another child maybe another seller." The seller yelled as she started to hit the tree in anger but she quickly stopped when the hot water hit her head. Just then she stopped as she felt the burning on her head which caused her to remove her hood as she turned to get away from the tree as the hot water started to land on her.
"Hello Shadow." Said a teenage girl with blond hair and wore an white dress in the mirror.
"Get out." Is All that shadow said as she removed the mask to reveal a large Displacer but instead of all black fur she had bits of red purple on her face and most of her body with yellow eyes and six legs. She then noticed a witch came in. She had green hair and glasses. She was young, filled with potential, maybe 13 or 14 years. They looked like they were having a bad day. Just then Shadow heard whispers "make another merchant make them a predator or a lioness."
"Sorry for trespassing, I thought I had more time to get home before the rain." Said the girl but unknown to her shadow was quick to pounce on the girl pinning her to the floor.
"Don't worry family never are considered trespassers." Shadow said as she pulled out a mask of a weird black cat like creature and was about to put it on her she felt vines grabbing her but all she did was laugh. "You're strong in magic, this is going to be interesting seeing what you become." Shadow Said as she placed the mask on the teen face, the vine having very little effect on her. At first it was quiet then everyone heard the screams of Willow then her screams turned into roars of a feral beast.
20 years earlier
"Come Miyo you need to eat." said a pale girl with brown hair as she looked down at the small black cat. This was not Miyo but her step mom's cat Kinako. Both were tricked by the cat seller.
'What is the point? I'm not going to be human.' Miyo thought as she layed in the sun looking at the tree or her kitten paw trying to forget her failed adventure and losing her body. Both the girls were going through some things and Miyo more so at the fact of the mask seller dying and her love interest.
"Why are you a sad child?" Asked a male black cat if it's a mark on his right paw."You are now a cat mask seller and you gained a human body and life, Kinako."
Kinako looked at the cat and yelled angrily at it "at what cost I've taken the years of some who I came to care for and the person who has taken care of me since I was little now she doesn't even know who I'm." Kinako said was shedding tears but stopped when she saw the cat's mark.
"What are you?" Miyo asked as she looked at the cat, more specifically his mark on its front right paw.
"I've been called many things but just call me Crane the Outsider and you my dear girl have gained my interest." Crane said as Miyo felt her paw burn as the same symbol appeared on her front right paw.
"What did you do to her?" Kinako asked, sounding furious as the black cat. She was about to throw something at him but it walked behind a tree and Kinako expected to see him on the other side of the tree but saw nothing.
"Simple I gave her power to change her fate and all she needed to do is to travel the world and become a noble or criminal mask seller or she could find a world where she could find a family." Crane said as he appeared on their roof and looked down at Miyo .
"Can I become human?" Miyo asked as she looked up at the cat.
"No but I can give you a wish you can forget if you want." Crane offered as his paw glowed with power and before Kinako could say anything Miyo said yes. This caused Crane to throw his magic at Miyo causing Kinako to try and shield her but some of the magic made it to her and caused Miyo deepest desires to form and take hold. This took the form of Shadow, someone who would do anything to make Miyo happy but with Miyo trapped in her own body.
Present
"Come now Rose, you need to tell me about that human girl." Shadow said as she looked at a black cat with six legs who was in a cage hissing at the large seller. Rose or Willow was an species of cat similar to shadow but younger. This was Willow Who was not happy about her current situation and tried to kill the mask seller but was thrown into the cage.
"My name is Willow and let me out of here." Willow yelled as she shook the cage she was in.
Shadow sighed and then said " I will let you out just tell me what the Owl Lady's girl's name is."
Willow looked at her not sure what to do but what could the harm be in giving her a name. "Luz Noceda."
Shadow smiled and opened the cage and grabbed Rose. Shadow then used her free hand to grab something from Willow's head and started to pull Willow started to feel some of her memories fade or change from her as a witch to a cat. Eventually all the memories left would make her form the perfect daughter loyal to Miyo and Shadow.
"Luz Noceda. I think you would like a Raiju cat mask." Shadow Said to herself as she looked at Rose who was now sleeping. "Aww little Rose is tired, maybe I can find you a nice little friend to join you."
Night
"Hey Luz are you ok?" Eda asked as she saw her student who was looking at an old doll that she was holding she found years before she ment Luz.
"I'm fine, thank you. I'm just worried about this. What is this?" Luz asked as she was staring at the doll that looked like her.
"Oh that it from a merchant she was around your age if not older she said it can see the things that most can't but it never really does anything except move around I thought that King took to be one of his minions." Eda said as she remembered the blue haired merchant that was selling dolls. She was weird with her cat ears, odd choice of clothes and the fact that she had long blue hair.
"Why did you buy it?" Luz asked as she was still a little weirded out by the doll. Eda was about to answer but then they heard an angry cat roar. When Eda looked outside she thought she saw a large creature covered in rags with a large mask on. But in a flash of light the creature was gone.
"Hey kid, you know those spell circle things we learned when we were with your girlfriend and her siblings?" Eda asked as she looked at Luz who was scared as she saw Eda who was dead serious. Luz pulled out an ice glyph and a plant glyph.
"Eda what is wrong?" Luz asked as she was getting a little scared as Eda would not stop looking at the windows.
"I think that creepy mask seller is out there, go to your room and come out when you hear from me and if you don't hear from me tell owlbert to take you to my sister." Eda said she grabbed her staff and handed it to Luz. She had a look of fear and saw Eda had feathers growling on her arms. Luz was quick to run up the stairs as she heard the growls of what sounded like a tiger. Luz was doing her best trying not to panic as she was activating all the plant glyphs she had a hard time trying her best not to panic. She didn't do well under pressure; her missing an eye is proof of that. Luz did her best to defend herself but then she heard the owl beast's roar and the cat roars and a lot of smashing until she heard the owl roar of pain or at least she thought it was as she heard it but it sounded like a cat.
"Luz Nocada are you here I just worried so much I have an little friend of yours she been wanting to meet you for awhile now she say she been wanting a sibling."
Luz as this point was scared as the creature sounded like the merchant and she was trying to find a way and saw the window but saw the rain and she was quick to jump and try to jump out. Luz was stopped by a pair of vines that was coming from an small smooth black cat with 6 legs and some weird tentacles on its sides.
"Good job Rose. Now let mother look at her new seller." Shadow said as she was looking down at the child who had a look of fear on her face. Luz was freaking as she tried to escape but stopped when she felt a paw on her. When Luz looked up and saw the cat mask seller.
"Don't worry child, soon this will all be a bad memory." Shadow said asbrought a cat mask she had earlier and placed it on Luz's head. She felt nothing but then she started to feel burning where she placed the mask on Luz's face then she started to something growing on her back tentacles and fur black started to grow with blue stripes. Then Luz started to scream as she felt her bones shifting and breaking and then fusing back together to make her body more feline like and oddly Luz felt something growing near her stomach it was another pair of legs. Luz was screaming cause Rose to look at her mother with concern about her new sibling who was still in pain.
"Don't worry Rose, she will survive." Shadow said but unknown to them Luz was determined to live. She got up unfamiliar with her new body but she was quick to run grabbing Owlberd and jumped through the window not caring if she was getting burned or the rowers for the mask seller Luz just ran and ran until reached cover and looked to Owl we Who was looking at Luz with Concern on it's as he saw that she looked very different then when he saw her earlier today but he recognized her eyes. One was scared, the other normal.
"Owlbert take me to Lilith." Luz said
One hour later
"What did you do to me?" Eda asked as the curse went dormant or at least she thought as she saw feathers and fur. Her body was large as a tiger but she felt wings on her back and her hind legs felt different then her front. She was currently in a cage made from vines in an old abandoned building. Eda didn't know what she looked like but she doubted Luz or anyone she knew would recognize her.
"What did you tell my new merchant?" Shadow asked her voice was low sounding very pissed and she wanted to kill her or do something worse to Eda
Eda said "fuck you"
Shadow growled as walked around roaring and then she turned to the owlcat and said "if I didn't need your memories intact I would just take your memories and make you bring her to me."
Eda looked at her not really afraid of her threat as long as she had information she was fine. In her 30 years of avoiding the law Eda learned many things when she worked with criminals. She learned a lot from a former emperor's coven head candidate who was before Lilith but he got wise. He was a shapeshifter, maybe even basilisk but she had not heard from him in years. But she remembered one thing the guy told her was 'no witch demon or another person will kill you or destroy your mind as long as you have a reason not to.'
"Fine you will break. Because everyone has their weakness." Shadow said as she tapped her head and walked out of the room as Rose Who was staring at her.
"Who were you?" Eda asked as she watched Rose watch her like a hawk not saying an world the whole time.
Lilith's house a week later
"So this is how much a coven head makes." Luz said to herself as she saw a large house that looked like they were from early American architecture. Luz had spent the last day trying to avoid all the large cats that were walking around the city. Luz was on edge but she remembered the last thing Eda told to find Lilith. Owlbert was quick to knock on the door, worried for his master's young charge as she was acting like a corner animal.
"Hello Who is it? Owlbert." Lilith questioned but she saw Luz and responded by freaking out. "What the hell is that?"
Luz could feel her ears droop. " It's me, Eda's student, Luz Nocade ."
In most worlds Lilith was a member of the emperor's coven but in this world she became the potion coven head even though she was reluctant to undo an mistake she made as an teen. She wore a rag over her mouth and trench coat that had been stained from her potion and her getting ingredients all over the isles, she had just gotten back from her journey.
"Luz how are you a cat, wait a minute, where is my sister?" Lilith asked in horror as she saw Owlbert on her back and Eda was nowhere to be found then she saw Luz starting to shed some tears. Lilith was quick to hug the young girl. Unknown to them they were being watched by a girl with green skin and scars of glyphs on her arms. This was the undeadth, a member of the void watchers.
"Luz Noceda. Your past matches mine but you lost dad in a car crash and mom was taken from you from a cult. I think you have gained my interest but your mark can wait for now to bring out the Interfector Inmortui Custos." Luz the undeath told a watcher who was a female dark elf who was wearing a bear coat with armor underneath and a bear skull with the mark of the Outsider on her head. The watcher nodded as she walked to a group of people who were wearing samurai armor mixed with an exo suit all wearing bear skulls with red markings on them. Each one was armed with kusarigamas and SAW or heavy machine guns on their backs.
"Ok undead fucker we have an Outsider that is mark for capture. She is the cat maskseller and she already pissed off more gods than we care to remember. So the watcher are tasked by the original with her capture." The elf explained and as soon as she finished they all started to run into the city of Bonesbough.
"Will they work? Initiate." The undeath asked the elf.
"Yes they will and I have a name."
"No you're a watcher Initiate so you are known as initiate."
west side of Bonesbough
Shadow hiss at Eda who had part of her claw in her mouth. Eda was not like the other members joined her family she was more strong willed then most even with her current form. Eda was almost skin and bones with some fur on her paws missing from burns along with her right eye swollen shut.
"You know you could be healed and stop all this if only you tell me where Luz is." Shadow said in a low voice her claws in Eda's face. Eda just stared at her and spat in her face. Shadow just hissed and punched Eda.
After Eda was knocked out Shadow roared in frustration she really wanted Luz due to how she pitied the young girl Shadow may not remember most of her human life nor did she care to. But maybe it was Miyo, the annoying human side of her saying how she pitied the girl when they first saw her. It was when she was in America during Halloween time in some small town that had a big thing for witches. She was looking for anyone she thought would trade their human life for the life of a cat or cat that would trade their cat life for a human. She had found no one who would take her offer or thought she was serious until she saw an Hispanic girl who was walking with an older woman, probably the mother. They were both injured. The girl had bandages on her face along with scars that looked like parasites like they had escaped someone crazy. Shadow just watched as the mother collapsed and the child screamed. Shadow has been watching her ever since she saw her.
"Maybe I should just take your memories now." Shadow said as she started to pull a memory from Eda's head but stopped when she heard a click and saw a man in a bear skull arm with a heavy machine gun. Shadow was quick to pounce on the man and she removed his skull mask to find a decaying human face. Shadow's response was to smash his skull in causing blood to cover her and Eda who was still out cold.
"Rose, we have uninvited guests kill them." Shadow said as she watched the window only to see a watcher staring at her. Shadow had spent 20 years traveling around the multiverse. She pissed off a few groups of gods and then that caused them to try to kill her but she was an outsider so they did the next best thing to complain to the original which led him to send the Watchers. Normally they just watched but recently they started to get more hands on if certain outsiders were pissing off gods.
"The Cat Maskseller you've been causing me trouble you stole a mask of untold power, kidnapped hundreds of champion of the gods, and now set your eye on someone who gained my interest. So what's your move now?" The undeath asked as appeared on the tree in the main hall on of the branches close to Eda's cell.
"Kill your assassins." Shadow said with a smirk on her face. The Undeath just looked at, laughed and laughed causing all of Shadow's family who she could see to hiss and run away form the watcher.
"What the same assassins who captured your family and sent them to a place of healing of all places." Luz the Undeath said as she throw a rock which opened a portal to a large fortress that had vines growing all over it and Shadow saw her children, masked sellers, and some of her warriors looking at peace in the fortress that was taken over by a forest. Shadow was not happy how dare she take her family, how dare she take her babies.
"I'm going to kill you and then rescue my kids."
"Is that what you call it rescuing, taking their memories, locking you true self away, and harming the loved ones before they join your 'family'."
"I kept her safe, I took away their pain, and I gave them a life to where they could not fear." Shadow said as she and Miyo began growing her to surrender.
"You took my memories?" Rose asked as she entered the room covered in black blood with tears in her eyes then it went to anger. Rose roared as she summoned vines to restrain Shadow. Shadow was struggling against the vines.
Rose may have been her daughter or at least thought she was but at the sight of this betrayal not even her 'family' was safe. Rose was about to jump at Shadow and she was grabbed by the green Outsider. The Outsider looked familiar to her but with her anger she was still trying to kill Shadow.
"Willow, you need to find Luz. Shadow will pay, trust me." Undeath said as set down the kit. Rose no Willow was confused with her fuzzy memories but she felt she could trust her for some reason. When willow left the undeath turned to Shadow who was restrained by vines.
"You ruined everything I just wanted a family someone to care for." Shadow said as the Undeath walked to the cat maskseller.
"You destroyed five timelines, stole Majora's mask, kidnapped 400 hero's before their quest was over. We would kill you but we can't so I'm sending you to an world where you can't cause too much trouble and more importantly you can't escape." The Undeath Said as she opened a portal and called the remaining Interfector Inmortui Custos. When they entered the room there were only three left. They all looked like they had been through hell dealing with Rose and the remaining family.
"Get her down and throw her in there." Interfector Inmortui Custos complied and threw her into the portal, broken and defeated. The Undeath then looked to Eda. She sighed at the state of a version of her mentor. Fur was missing from her body along with some feathers and her eye was swollen shut.
"What are your orders?" An Interfector Inmortui Custos asked as he and his group entered the room to reinforce the others in the building and the Undeath turned from Eda and said "find whatever remains of Shadow's 'family' and send them to the Doctor, and then find the Illusionist and tell him his runes worked well."
When the Interfector Inmortui Custos left the room the Undeath pulled out a knife and started to cut her restraints. Unknown to the Undeath Eda was starting to wake up. When the Undeath was on the last one she saw Eda's eyes open; she looked confused and then saw the undeath's knife and growled her eyes turning black. Eda pounced causing the last of the restraints to snap and roar into to the Undeath's face.
"Eda your fine, Luz is Fine, the cat maskseller is going to pay. Trust Eda she is going to pay." The Undeath Said as Eda was staring into her eyes and Eda got off her and looked at her confused.
"What happened to you kid?" Eda asked as she stared at the Undeath.
"I'm sorry Eda I'm not your Luz."
"What are you talking about Luz?"
"I'm an Outsider. Well technically an Watcher, it is a type of Outsider, we watch the other Outsider and watch and take action if need be. I think your Luz is with Lilith. Come on, I will take you to her." The Undeath said as she guided Eda who was a little shocked but noticed that this Luz smelled like death. The Undeath was quick to grab a bear skull mask, put it on and grabbed some rags to wrap around her arms and legs.
"Why did you do that kid?" Eda asked as she saw the green girl was covered in rags and the Undeath looked like a homeless person with a skull mask.
"Not many people like seeing themselves dead, well undead. Come on, I'm sure your sister would love to see you." The Undeath explained as cut down a large curtain she brought a cloak and covered her with it.
"Hey where did you send her."
"Oh, a place where a galaxy is in a civil war where both sides controlled evil space wizards."

"Where am I?" Shadow asked as she looked around and saw a metal alleyway. The A͏lle͏y͏ was filled with trash and Graffiti that was written in an unknown language. It wasn't long before she exited the alley to see an large sifi city there was hundreds of skyscrapers and flying cars. Shadow was shocked by where she was sent and tried to open an portal to the void only for her to break done in pain and chains appeared on her fur and wrapped around her.
"Can't leave but maybe this place can work to my advantage." Shadow said as she walked into the new city and did what any outsider would do, survive and cause chaos. This would come back to haunt Luz the Undeath but that would take time. Mayo on the other hand was locked in Shadow's mind never to escape until Shadow would let her out. Shadow would be annoyed by her screaming
Lilith house days later
"So you were rescued by an Outsider?" Lilith asked as she was looking at her sister who was healing slowly but she was her cat owl hybrid. Eda was slowly adjusting to her new body along with Luz. But Willow had it the worst with most of her memories gone and replaced with false memories she was quick to anger and was very protective of Luz an person she viewed as her sister.
"Yes she named Luz the Undeath." Eda said as Lilith remembered when she first saw the Outsider she reeked of death and decay but she had a kind nature and was very helpful with getting Eda to her house. The last they saw of her she gave their Luz a mark of the Outsider which she started to talk to the dead and even raise the dead.
"So what are you going to do now dear sister?" Lilith asked as she looked at her sister then outside her window to see Willow and Luz staring out at the sunset. But unknown to the sisters the moment they looked at each other the girls walked through an portal.
"Head back to the house, take Luz and Willow with me and keep to ourselves."
"What of Belos?" Lilith asked her sister who just growled at the name.
"I will protect them from anyone who comes for them."
"Good sister if you need anything else?"
"Just warn us if the emperor coven starts to make a move and can you keep an eye on the youngest Blight." Lilith nodded as she hugged her sister.

"The king and his men stole the queen from her bed and bound her in her and by my power where I roam they will rise." Luz sung as her and Rose walked through a graveyard in the human with the ground slowly rising as skeletons and rotting corpse awakened from their permanent sleep and followed after Luz. They all stopped when she stopped at the grave of her mother.
"Hey Mamá it's me Luz I know you are probably with dad but I need you. I have a mentor now but I need you but don't worry I found a way for you to live again." Luza Said as Willow brought a mask that Luz carved and Luz dug out her mother's grave and opened her coffee and placed the mask on her mother's face. They waited until they heard a roar coming from the graveyard of a lioness.
That is how Shadow the Cat Maskseller gave rise to Luz the Lich lady.
