Chapter 9

As the train came to a stop at Magnolia station Naruto stood up and stretched his back before leaning over the kids and gently shaking the pile of limbs. The kids slowly awoke and each took their time looking around trying to remember where they were.

"Come on, sleepy heads, your new family awaits." Naruto said softly as he smiled down at them. They all looked up at him, looked at eachother, then back out the window before they finally registered what he had said and were out of the seat and down the train's walkway before Naruto could blink. Naruto gave a soft smile and a shake of his head before taking off after the children.

They ran all the way back to the guild as Naruto jogged after them telling them where to turn and apologizing to any person they almost ran over. Once they had made it to the guild doors the kids leaned against the wall to catch their breath before they went inside. As they did that Naruto was staring up at the guild symbol. He could almost remember when he had helped Mavis come up with the symbol.

"I want the symbol to be a fairy." Mavis had yelled one morning while Precht, Warrod, and Yuri tried to convince her to go with something stronger.

"No one will believe that we can do anything if they see that we have a fairy as our symbol." Yuri had said. Naruto could see he had a point.

"But…"

"I don't care how much you like them Mavis, it isn't happening." Precht had said. He had a point as well.

"We need something strong, something that will let people believe in us." Warren spoke. They all had points, but

"Mavis never makes deciduous based on childish wishes; I thought you guys knew this by now?" Naruto spoke from where he was sharpening a kuni in the rafters. Mavis gave him one of her big smiles and the other three had the insight to look guilty. "So let's hear it Mavis, why do you want it to be a fairy and called Fairy Tail?" Naruto asked as he stopped sharpening the kuni and turned to face her.

Seeing that she had everyone's attention she began to speak once more, "I want it to be called Fairy Tail because no one knows if fairies have tails or not. It's an endless adventure that our family will be able to go on as long as the guild still stands. It will be a place for everyone and anyone as long as they will take care of the rest of the family and do what they feel is right at the time."

"Fairy Tail sounds like a fairy tale." Naruto started, "No matter how broken, abused, tired, hungry, or sad; there will always be a place for you here, you will always be loved, you will always have a home and when it comes time for your story to end it will be remembered for generations to come and live by. They will be remembered in infamy. Everyone will know their name and what they accomplished, what they went through to get there. Just like in fairy tales; they will always win, because they have something to protect." Naruto looked back down at his crowd to see all of their eyes were on them. Yuri had tears in his eyes, Mavis was giving him her signature smile again, and the other two had their eyes closed, but he could see they were still listening. "Besides, even if it was based on her childish dreams, fairies gave Mavis something to believe in even when she couldn't see them, hear them, or touch them, simply because she believed they would watch over her and protect her. That doesn't sound like a bad reputation to have to me."

Naruto snapped back into reality as the kids stood up from their rest and made their way back to him. 'Not bad at all.'

Sorry this ones so short. The idea come to me and I didn't have much time to write it. I will try to update more often from now on.
