I Can't love a Mudblood

"Maria!" I yelled. That Mudblood had written 'Ravenclaw Rocks' on my forehead while I was sleeping in History of Magic.

"Yes?"

"What is this?" I pointed at my forehead.

"Your forehead?"

"Ha ha. Don't you forget that I'm a Prefect."

"I can't. You remind me every day."

"I'll give you detention."

"Empty threat."

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah."

It was like we were having a staring contest. I was losing.

"Hey Maria I… what did you do?" Asked Ginny Weasley.

"She wrote 'Ravenclaw Rocks' on my forehead."

"Well it does," she replied with a smug smile.

"Just you wait. I'll get you back."

I stomped away to the Great Hall.

I plopped down next to Goyle who was stuffing his face with baked beans.

"Dracy-poo!"

I groaned. It was Pansy. She wouldn't leave me alone. I stood up and quickly exited.

I bumped into someone.

"Hey! Watch where you're going."

"You're the one who ran into me."

The girl looked down and I saw who it was. Maria. Merlin's pants, did she always look like that? Blond wavy hair and sparkling blue eyes.

"Um…" was all I could say.

"Ugh, boys are so weird."

She turned and walked away.

I got up and walked back into the Great Hall. I scanned the Ravenclaw table for Maria's group of friends. Then I remembered that she had a friend in Hufflepuff. I dashed over to the table and a girl immediately walked up to me.

"Ravenclaw Rocks, huh?"

"Are you Cali? Maria's friend?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I um… kind of like her."

"Oh, I happen to know she likes you too. Just don't tell her I said that. She'd kill me. I'll help you get a date if you'd like."

"Yes. Yes, please."

"Okay, be at the lake at eight."

She grabbed a sandwich and stuffed it in her mouth. She walked out of the hall, her cheeks sticking out a bit.

I looked at my watch. 7:55. Maria will be here soon.

"What are you talking about, Cali? I don't see any one."

"Well, I told him to be here at eight so he may not be here."

"You set me up on a blind date? I'm going to kill you after this."

"We'll see."

Cali gave Maria a slight push and she saw me.

Maria walked up to me.

"I see Ravenclaw still rocks," she said with a slight smile.

"Yeah, I guess so," I smiled back. "I really like you but I can't love a Mudblood."

"Oh, well," she said blushing, "I'm a Pure blood."

"Really," I gasped.

"Yeah."

We were quiet for a few seconds. I stepped forward and kissed her cheek. She blushed harder and kissed me back.

"I'll have to remember to thank Cali," she said.

"Yeah," I replied stupidly.

"Well… bye."

"Yeah bye."

She went back up to the castle with a small spring in her step. When she was out of ear shot I yelled, "YES!"

I could tell that this was the start of a good relationship. Maybe Raven claws and Hufflepuffs aren't so bad.
