Taylor's federal tax fraud did indeed lead to the meet-again-cute she wanted. It was this thought that kept her sane in her prison term in a minimum security, community-integrated federal prison camp.

Troy and Gabriella went on several dates, so as to have a chance to reassess their relationship; examining the reasons why they broke up in the first place, and if there still existed feelings of affection. They discovered new shared interests and points of commonality that served to reinforce their already existing foundation. They found that they both deeply loved National Public Radio (NPR), and believed in its mission to distribute news and cultural programming to the general public. In Troy and Gabriella's cars, to tune the radio away from the Washington D.C. NPR affiliate was grounds for immediately removal from the car; their respective homepages on their computers' browsers (Troy used Microsoft Edge; Gabriella used Mozilla Firefox), was NPR, and every Saturday evening, they eagerly awaited the release of their absolute favorite podcast, a weekly recap of top NPR news and gossip.

Troy and Gabriella thought that Zelda and Mr. B's relationship was likewise going swimmingly, but unfortunately this couldn't be further from the truth. Zelda and Mr. B got along like a cat and a dog which didn't like one another at all. They restrained themselves in the presence of their human masters, for the sake of their happiness, the matter which is paramount to all pets, but after Troy and Gabriella had moved into a shared apartment, when they were at work, all bets were off. Thankfully for the furniture and carpet, Zelda and Mr. B preferred more cerebral forms of warfare. Zelda's wins against Mr. B current stand at: Chess 13-9; Checkers 8-10; Uno 3-3; Settlers of Catan 27-28; and the ultimate challenge, Toss the Pig 113-113. Generally speaking, the two are evenly matched, with a slight edge to Zelda's spatial reasoning, while Mr. B has somewhat stronger linguistic intelligence (Mr. B is also very talented at tug-of-war, but unfortunately for him Zelda refuses to participate).

As time passed, Troy and Gabriella grew closer and closer, until they began to seriously consider getting married. Troy of course was in favor of this; he loved Gabriella, but he also understood the numerous tax benefits derived from marriage. Troy's points about the financial benefits binding two together forever in holy matrimony appealed to Gabriella's analytical side, and so they decided to get married.

The logistics of the matter were another thing, not so easily settled. Of course they wanted to include as many of their friends and family members as they could, as well as finding a place for Zelda and Mr. B in the ceremony. Thankfully Taylor had recently been released from federal prison, making her bank account available for covering it (Taylor happily and voluntarily did so; she found joy in her best friend and this random guy that happened to go to the same high school as her growing together and finding love). They planned to have Zelda and Mr. B be the ring-bearers, but sadly Mr. B was rather squirmy and barky, and so they were forced to rely entirely on Zelda.

Mr. B said "Bark, bark-bark. Bark." lil' cowboy understood this to translate, roughly, to the English sentence: "I am the sovereign lord of a mighty Highland clan, and I will not be reduced to a base fool by the indignity of being used as a beast of burden." lil' cowboy decided to not translate this for Troy, whom he knew held strong feelings towards the aristocracy.

They also wanted to include their friends in the wedding. Some of them might even have more than one role.

Chad Danforth was Troy's best friend in high school, and they continued to be close. Chad had always been fascinated by water; the feast-or-famine nature of New Mexico and its desert ecosystems combined with a monsoon season had shown Chad the importance of the life-giving power of water. He chose to study hydrography at le Université de recherche Paris Sciences et Lettres (Université PSL); although he appreciated its academic programs, he realized he just really loved water, and wanted to be around it at all times, so he became a freighter captain. Over his lifespan, he sailed nearly 2 million miles delivering trinkets and gadgets. Late in life, he became a pilot at the Panama Canal, and he was chosen to be the pilot to guide the final freighter through the canal before it had to be shut down due to sea level rise, which was threatening the canal's locks. He was also a Unitarian universalist, so they chose him to be the priest at their wedding.

Troy and Gabriella found a great location in Prince George's County in Maryland (MD) for their wedding. It was provided by Taylor's stepfather Christopher A Wray, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), who had originally planned on building the new FBI headquarters there, but decided that the happiness of his stepdaughter's best friend, and some guy they knew from high school, was paramount. Christopher was troubled by his decision, but he was comforted by his husband, Jeff Bezos who said, "Chris, we have to decide that the happiness of our step-daughter's best friend and some guy they knew from high school is paramount." Chris replied, "You always know what to say to calm my nerves Jeff. I love you so much." Compared to the massive star-like love that consumed Troy and Gabriella, which would burn brightly but briefly, dying in a massive explosion after a billion years, Jeff and Chris's love was more akin to a red dwarf, burning more of its own mass, but at a slower rate, allowing them to persist for trillions of years to come. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful thing.

Finally, it was time for the wedding…
