The next few minutes were the weirdest Abi had ever experienced. Discord was so appalled at his looks that he backed away and shrunk in size with each step. It got so bad that he had shrunk to the size of a teddy bear and had hid under the bed, with Abi's computer dragging along behind him. She had deduced that Discord couldn't be too far away from the "portal" she had brought him in and that due to the rules of Earth's reality he couldn't totlally alter the things around him. He had demonstrated that clearly wehn he turned her room into something straight out of a Dr. Suess book. Abigail was still very impressed with everything that had happened, but seeing the mighty "Lord of Chaos" cower and flee at his own reflection… Was a bit pathetic. Abi was sure she would have laughed if she didn't feel so bad for him.
"Discord please come out," Abi kneeled down next to her bed and tried to peek under her mattress to see him. "GO AWAY! I LOOK HIDEOUS!" She sighed and tried to cox him out once more, "Come on it's really not that bad, it'll just take some getting used to-" A bit was interrupted by a toy being flung at her from beyond the dark depths, "MY BEAUTIFUL FACE HAS BEEN HORRIBLY DEFORMED BY YOUR REALITY! AND YOU EXPECT ME TO BE ALRIGHT! I'D RATHER KISS QUEEN CHRYSALIS AND BE HER LOVE SLAVE THAN HAVE TO LOOK INTO A REFLECTIVE SURFACE EVER AGAIN!"
Abi sat for a moment in silence. On the one hand she thought that Discord was being extremely childish. He looked different than the cartoon version that she saw on her computer, so what? He could still manipulate matter to be fantastical and wild like it was no big deal. Plus he could grant objects life, if only temporarily. To her, Discord seemed to be capable of performing wondrous feats that she could only dream about in her wildest imaginations! And yet… she understood. She knew what it was like to be brutally removed from one's reality and have your whole world change for the worse. To have high expectations for someone only to have them come crashing and burning to the ground. To feel like you're all alone and that there is no possible way of going back to the way things were.
So while she wanted to nag him and complain that he was acting immature, she instead laid on the floor and looked towards the ceiling, "I get it Discord… you're scared and hurt. You're in a new world that is vastly different from your old one… I don't blame you for being upset… I would be too…" The room was silent for a bit as Abi was waiting to see Discord's response. Eventually he walked out with a very annoyed expression and pointed a clawed talon/finger at her, "You do NOT know what I feel! You do NOT know what it feels like to have your powers twisted into ways you don't want it to!" Abigail turned her head to him and gave him a gentle smile, "No… but I can understand when a friend is hurting,"
Discord made a disgusted face and turned away from her, the end of his tail fur tickling her nose, "We are NOT friends! And I am NOT hurting! I am just… Disgusted by the rudimentary reality of your world!" Abi giggled as her nose got tickled and sat up, "Whatever you say Mini Lord of Chaos…" Discord looked at her with the worst stink eye he could muster while being a wannabe Build-A-Bear reject to which so Abi just smiled. Suddenly stern knocking on the door interrupted her thoughts, "ABIGAIL YOU BETTER BE CLEANING YOUR ROOM IN THERE!" Abi panicked and pushed Discord under the bed and scrambled to start picking up books, "Y-yeah mom… I'm cleaning…"
She wasn't at all surprised when her mother barged in and smacked her upside the head, "I leave you alone for an hour and you make your room a disaster! First school now this! I should take your door **and** your books, since you're so careless with them!" Abi silently winced in pain and grumbled quitely, "No mom… I'm sorry…" Her mother looked at her incredulously, "Are you talking back to me?" Abigail shook her head no and walked away to put her books back on the shelf, which somehow made her mother more upset. The next 5 minutes Abi got an earful about just about everything: how her room was a mess, how Abi dressed so poorly that sometimes she looked like a boy, how her grades weren't good enough despite her passing all of them, and worst of all being a shut in like her father.
Abi was silently fuming by the end of being lectured but she knew that if she didn't hold her tongue she would get grounded, or worse… and she wasn't in the mood to deal with her mom in an even grumpier mood. Thankfully, nothing got taken but she had just about gotten 2 strikes in one day, which wasn't exactly hard to do. Her mother slammed the door as she left, saying she needed to go to work and left shortly after. Abi watched as her mother drove away while standing at the window then slumped down to the floor in an exhausted heap. Her tears were starting to prickle with tears when Discord, who she forgot was there, placed a small paw on her cheek, "Are… you, um… well? I haven't ever seen anything like that before and if I'm being honest, which is a rarity…" he chuckled to himself then cleared his throat realizing how inappropriate it was to be making jokes at a time like this, "Anyway… what was that?"
Abi sniffed and looked at Discord. Despite trying to look as if he was above her and her problems, his eyes gave him away. He was worried. His red pupils glanced from her to her head where she was hit and back down to her face. She closed her eyes and got up, "I'm… I'm okay, Discord… this happens often enough… I'll live…" He stepped back in shock, eyes widening as he looked aghast, "It does!? What in Celestia's name was that? She hit you! She also yelled at you quite a bit, most of it I couldn't catch from her screeching but what I did hear sounded quite foolish…" Abi laughed and wiped away some tears, "It's nothing… she's just… well she likes to yell… ever since her and dad split things have never been alright with her…" Discord just stood there horrified at the situation and disgusted at the actions of Abigail's mother, "I consider myself to be evil sometimes, but even I know this was too much. That woman could give Chrysalis a run for her money…"
He shook his head and mumbled to himself, "I can't wait to get back to Equestria… I'll risk getting turned to stone again rather than get caught by that witch…" Abi perked up and bent down towards him, Equestria? Where's that? Is that your home world?" Discord scrunched his face and tilted his head, "Not exactly. My home is another land from Equestria but it no longer exists. Equestria is the nation of the ponies, a rather uniform land that runs on Harmony. Blech!" He shook his head as if the concept of harmony made him sick. Abi however was fascinated by this bit of knowledge, "You live in a world of ponies? It must be lovely there… I wish I could go…" Discord paused and looked at her for a moment, then as if he made up his mind he pointed to her, "Help me find a way to get me back to my world and I will bring you with me. I give you my word,"
Abi blinked and looked at him incredulously, "You mean it Discord? I can go to Equestria?" Discord shrugged and turned away, "Might as well. I'm the Lord of Chaos not the Lord of watching others get hurt. My chaos causes annoyance rather than pain. Besides, bringing you will bring more chaos to the ponies anyway…" Ani sat in shock for a moment, then without thinking she picked Discord off the floor and held him close to her face, "Thank you Discord! Thank you thank you thank you!" Discord sputtered and struggled to get out of her grasp, "Do not make me change my mind! I'm not a toy for you to hold! I got powers you wouldn't believe! Unhand me!" Abi laughed and set him back down on the floor, "Sorry, sorry Discord. I got a bit excited, but I promise I will do my best to keep my promise! We will get you home, then I can come visit your world with you!"
Discord wiped himself off as if he were ridding his fur of the disgusting and sickening feeling of joy that oozed off of her. In one day he had managed to coerce this girl into not only letting him out of the between dimensions space, but had also managed to trick her into finding a way back to Equestria for him. Either she was extremely gullible or he was just that good. Both were entirely possible but he was sure it was the latter. If the girl, Abigail, was able to get him back to Equestria he didn't see why he wouldn't hold up his end of the deal. It was more chaos to spread in both worlds, and that was his purpose in life. To spread as much chaos as possible, after all, he wasn't called the Lord of Chaos for no reason. He had earned that role and he was devoted to proving it to anyone and everyone that new him. Dksclrd had to spread chaos, it was etched into his soul at thsi point.
