Dear Desmond,
I always love receiving your letters. I'm happy you like the picture, if anything, you should always have something to remember me when I'm not with you. So it feels like I'm with you on your expeditions.
Well, now I'm curious as to what is so important that you can't ask it in a letter. You really know how to keep me guessing with you. I never know what you are up to next. That's the exciting part of our relationship, living day to day. Promise me to return tome safely, alright?
I just want to understand you better, understand the work you do. It's not a fancy request, but that's really all I want, a book about archaeology. I know, I could probably ask for something more fancy, but the greatest gift I could get from you is just being with you.
I wouldn't say I am forgiving, I just don't bother with holding a grudge. It's just not very nice to do that. You don't need to like or forgive a person, but you should always treat them with civility.
How nice, you'll really play the piano for me? Really? This makes me happier than it should, but I guess just the thought of you playing the piano, just for me, makes me swoon. And here I thought I couldn't fall in love even more with you.
You never meant to fall in love? I must be pretty lucky to have convinced you otherwise then. Joking aside, feelings aren't controllable. It makes me happy that I sparked your interest out of so many other women you probably have met throughout your life. But now I am curious about Targent. You'll tell me about them, won't you? You don't have to if you don't want to, of course.
You don't have to build me a castle or a town for that matter. I'm happy to just live in a house with you, it doesn't even have to be big, a small little cottage in the British country side is enough. You already do so much for me my love, and it makes me happy.
To answer your questions:
I would like to see anywhere. Any place you would be able to show me would be great. I wanna see the world. But I'm fine at home too and you tell me about the places. It may not be the same as actually going to those places, but it would be fine too.
I don't really have hobbies, other than reading. I really enjoy a good book, and cooking maybe. I like cooking when I have a day off and my parents have to work.
Well, I can't really think of any questions. Maybe just this one:
Will you bring me something from your trip? It doesn't have to be much, but a small souvenir would be nice, if you don't mind.
Well, I don't want to keep you too long, so this might be a shorter letter. I love you, and remember, stay safe.
With adoration and love,
Scarlett
