Redemption

Being a hero is one thing, but claiming it without much proof is another! Not that I have ever tried to do such, as that would be insulting to actual heros. But I am getting ahead of myself.

So it all began in the classroom, Lila faking an injury (sprained wrist) to get her way. While saving Max's eye from getting gouged out by tissue using said "injured" wrist - never mind that the boy was wearing glasses - though thanks to the boy having the IQ of a superhuman he quickly surmised that, no his eye couldn't be poked out by a tissue paper and that Lila's injury was indeed fake.

Chloe rolled her eyes, she thanked the lord that Lila wasn't getting her way and that her classmates - bless them - were not as slow on the uptake as she thought. Sabrina was talking with Rose about crafting, while Alya was tinkering with her phone. She saw Adrien and Mari going over a book that looked like it came from an ancient library of sorts. She spotted Nathaniel sketching something, likely a character for his comic. Lila seemed to be conversing with Kim, Myelin and Ivan who looked rather skeptical with the things she was saying.

"Do you think she is up to something?" Someone asked from behind her.

Chloe turned to see Nathaniel his eyes sharply looking at the Italian girl, while sketching something on his drawing pad.

Chloe nodded in confirmation, "I think so, I am just glad no one is buying into her little game. I'm just worried that she's targeting Mari."

"It wouldn't surprise me if Lila was, but I am sure Mari will handle her." Says the red head smiling.

Chloe smiled in return, "Half of the things Lila says are unbelievable, while the other half is just hogwash! I mean half truths are one thing but out right laing is just horrid."

Mm, half truths? Nathaniel thought, what could Chloe have meant by that?

It seemed like she knew something that she was purposely omitting from this conversation, but he wasn't going to pry, perhaps it wasn't her secret to tell. But those words made him think of one particular person, he knew Mari wasn't the type to make lies or half baked promises but her behavior these last few weeks were odd. Sometimes late or going off somewhere before class was dismissed, making the oddest excuses when she missed an outing. But the most glaring point was that she did those things whenever the akuma alarm would ring...

Hold that thought!

Could it be that... Nah, it must be a coincidence that whenever Mari wasn't available or unseen during Akuma attacks Ladybug would be there fighting the person possessed by the evilized insect. Nathaniel shook his head clearing it of all those thoughts before he got to shakey territory. Chloe for her part looked rather nervous, but relaxed as soon as she saw Nathaniel relax his expression.

Suddenly Mylene burst out, "Really Lila! I am pretty sure Jagged never had a kitten."

Once again Chloe rolled her eyes, her whole class knew the facts and Lila once again ruled out the possibility that they had all met the rockstar, and that Mari had personally commissioned two - now three or four - designs for him. She really laying it on thick here, ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous!

"Excuse me!" Alya said a little too loudly then adjusted her tone, "From what I've read Jagged never had a kitten, it is sure fact that he was allergic to animal fur since he was a child."

Ivan nodded in agreement, "He's had his Crocodile Fang since he was sixteen and never had a pet before that, last I checked."

"That Crock scares me a little." Rose admits faintly.

Mari giggles, "Now Rose, Fang might be a little bit intimidating but he is actually pretty sweet."

"Oh yeah! You've seen Fang, Mari." Says Adrien grinning.

Chloe grinned, "Wasn't that during that photo taking Akuma attack? I was closely aquatinted with that Crock! It creeped the hell out of me back then."

Adrien snickered remembering her reaction, "Hehe, boy did I have to stop myself from laughing. I couldn't keep the grin off of my face after you screamed."

"Now, now, Monsieur Agreste it isn't nice to make fun of others." Chloe said huffing with playful indignation.

Mari giggles, "Maybe I shouldn't give you anymore pastries for making fun of Chloe."

Alya smirked, "Mm, Adrien would probably protest greatly to that Mari.

"Parish the thought! I take it back, I didn't find it funny at all." Adrien said gasping dramatically, eyes wide with false fear.

The whole class laughed at their banter, Nino being the loudest since he knew how much Adrien loved the TS Bakery pastries. Lila fummed as she watched them smile and laugh some more. Madame Bustier studied the situation in front of her, part of her was on alert with Lila's stunt while the other part was relieved that most of the class stepped up and called the Italian transfer out on her fibs.

Said little devil looked at them with enraged eyes. Her aura going completely going dark, alerting a certain Kuami of destruction to her evil intentions. Plagg needed to speak to Adrian about this, and let Chat relay their concerns to Ladybug. It looks ike a reveal would be needed soon rather then later, they knew it would happen someday but two years we long for these young heroes to hide their secret from each other. Plagg knew that Marinette was ready for the reveal and so was Adrian it would bring them closer then ever. Maybe even have some of their close friends around as well.

We need a team. This one is gonna be big trouble for sure...

And done! Wow! It took me this long to finish this chapter. Been struggling to find the right ending and all. I owe you guys another update which I will be working on soon, after a finish the next chapter of my Pokemon fanfic. An Akumatized Lila is coming our way! Yes I am sicking to cannon for her first Akuma, sly little fox.
