It had been over a week since the encounters with Fuu, The Sand Trio and finding out about the Chunin exams. Lincoln had begun his training with Yamato and to say he excelled in his wood release was an understatement, Yamato had said that his wood is even more potent and stronger than his, he even said it might be just as strong as Hashirama Senju's. So they trained and Lincoln formed a bond with Yamato a master student bond. Over the week as well he talked to Fuu and hung out with her more.

They got to know each other a little better starting with their likes and dislikes, she dislikes pervs and anything sour and she likes nature, sweets and her favourite dish was Chin-jou rosu which is similar to ramen a slightly modified version of a traditional Chinese Dish. Lincoln noticed how she would get every time she mentioned her village. He wondered what could get her sad that she hates her own village so much? But he didn't want to pry into her life like that but knew something was wrong. Kakashi also made an announcement to them that they are allowed to participate in the exams, something that overjoyed all of them.

So they were ready for the exam as they arrived at the hall where the exams took place. They went inside and saw a bunch of people crowded around the door. Lincoln thinks 'the exams will start soon what is keeping up so long?' He sees a girl with two buns in her hair arguing with two guys that look awfully familiar. That's when he realised that these were Izumo and Kotetsu who used the transformation jutsu and placed a genjutsu on the door.

He would tell his teammates as they walked up undid the genjutsu and walked in. They were making their way to the first spot in the exam. When they were stopped by a bow wearing a green clad suit, he had a bowl cut and his eyebrows were bushy. He then introduces himself as Rock Lee and challenges Lincoln to a fight. Lincoln would see Lee looked strong but recognise that his Sensei is Might Guy the greatest Taijutsu user in the Leaf. He would decline saying "while my taijutsu is great yours is unmatched due to your Sensei as you look like a carbon copy of him." Lee would try to keep pushing him to fight but the conditions were not fair as they were only allowed to fight with Taijutsu.

Sasuke would then say he will fight him as well as Naruto but when Naruto tried Lee literally turned him into a turtle putting him on his back like one. Sasuke would then begin to fight Lee but he was outmatched and couldn't even observe him with the Sharingan. Lee was about to use a technique called the Primary Lotas when a turtle appeared and began to scold Lee until a Man who looked just like Lee appeared and said "He what's shaking everyone buddy doing okay" everyone except Lee was like 'What a weirdo' He then punched Lee scolding him but Lee took it as they both started crying and then everything turned into a sunset beach...yeah Team 7 just walked away slowly after that.

Lincoln has seen Rock Lee fight and despite his...weirdness the boy was strong he would like to fight him if he got the chance. They arrived at the examination room and once they entered all eyes turned and everyone in the room looked at them with a cold expression. Lincoln then chuckled at their attempts to scare them as someone asked "What's so funny kid" Lincoln would say "Oh nothing just your pathetic attempt of releasing Killer Intent. I'll show how it's done" As he released so much malice it filled the room and everyone was suffocating in it. He only stopped when a familiar green haired girl wrapped her arms around his neck from behind with a big smile on her face greeting him.

He would blush but then greet her asking where her Teammates are as she pointed to two guys shaking on the floor... maybe he went a little too overboard. Just then all of his former classmates would appear with Into jumping to Sasuke immediately. While they all interacted, a man with silver hair and glasses says "Hey you know you're all not being very discreet unlike your white haired friend here." They would ask who he is and he introduces himself as Kabuto Yukishi. He says these exams are no joke and this is his fifth try, He says he's got data on everybody here on these ninja info cards something Lincoln found suspicious as no ninja should have this kind of data.

He then tells them how many people are from different villages stating that there are only three people from The Hidden Sound which is a new village which is said to be brought up by The rogue Legendary Sannin Orochimaru he says they probably won't make it far. Just then the three sound nin shinobi would hear this and be pissed as one of them rolls up his sleeve to reveal a strange gauntlet that blasts wind pressure at Kabuto he dodges but since it was pressurised wind it made him puke due to the force. Just then a man with a black coat would appear and state his name is Ibiki Morino and he is the instructor for the first test so sit down and shut up.

They all sit down and he hands out the papers, he says if any of them are caught cheating they and their Team are disqualified and forbidden to take the chunin exams again. Lincoln hears this and thinks 'He said if we're caught cheating but he never said we couldn't cheat so that means the aim of the exam is to just cheat!' so he looks around and sees all that happening so he t

reads his paper and begins to answer the questions and when he doesn't know the answer he activates his Sharingan and copies of Sakura who is sitting not too far from as she answers all the questions without needing to cheat.

He sees Naruto having trouble and throws something small at him which makes him turn around and look Lincoln in his eyes which he uses a genjutsu to show him the answers. He releases him from it as Naruto smiles at him but shakes his head saying he doesn't want to cheat as he wants to do this himself. Lincoln understands what that means nods, Just then he sees Fuu who was next to him struggle so he pushes his paper a little bit so she could see. She thanked him and wrote down the answers. A while later Ibiki would say that it is time to answer the tenth and final question and if they don't answer it they will be disqualified. They all look at the question and get confused the question asks what is the purpose of shinobi.

They don't know the answer and little by little people start to drop out and Ibiki says if you want to drop out that it is fine. But then Naruto and Lincoln raised their hands but slam them on the table stating they will pass this test and continue the chunin exams even if they have to do it over and over. Ibiki would look on and smirk as more people would keep trying just then he said that they all passed as their purpose of the tenth question was to pick out the ones who are truly ready to become Chunin.

Just then smoke would emit and a, woman with purple hair, wearing a large brown overcoat, and nothing but a brown skirt and chain mesh would appear to interrupt Ibiki saying her name is Anko Mitarashi and she is the second proctor for the chunin exams so come with her. They all leave as Ibiki goes over to pick up the papers he sees Naruto's is, blank he says "The kid passed on pure gutsiness I want to see how far he will go." They all arrive at the site of a large forest which is called the Forest of Death she explains the rules which is basically like capture the flags Teams are given a Heaven scroll or Earth scroll and to complete the task they must have both scrolls and make it to the center building of the forest.

Naruto and his friends are given an Earth scroll and everyone heads in but before they must sign a waiver in stating they are not responsible for them if they are badly injured or even die. Everyone signs it and they notice some kids watching they know being Konohamaru, Lily, Udon and Moegi who have to watch the Chunin exams as a field trip. Once everything was ready they all headed in but what they didn't account for was that people from the hidden grass had infiltrated the exams.
