Chapter 12

The Death of Eda Clawthorne.

Camilla was thinking about going back home. But she has a feeling that she better stay. Dominic climbed into the nest with his mother. He cuddled up next to her and said "Please don't leave me Mommy." Eda managed to work up some strength to talk once more.

"I'm...sorry...buddy...Mommy...doesn't have...the ... strength...to make...it...I...love...you..all...very...much." stated Eda weakly

The group stayed with Eda for the rest of the leaving to eat and to go to the bathroom. That night they either slept in the nest with Eda. Or made themselves comfortable on the floor. It's now the middle of the night. Everyone is fast asleep in Eda's room. Surrounded by the ones she loves and the ones she holds dear. Running out of strength Eda took her last breath and peacefully passed away. In the morning Lilith is the first to wake up. She looked over at Eda and she isn't breathing. Lilith got up and checked for a pulse. She started crying when she couldn't feel one.

"Rest in peace my dear sister."sniffled Lilith

Dominic heard his Aunt so he woke up. He looked over at his mother. Then he tried shaking her. Lilith put her hand on Dominic's shoulder and said "I'm sorry my dear she's gone." Dominic started crying which woke the rest of the group up.

"What's going on? What's wrong?" asked Luz

"I'm sorry everyone. Eda is gone she must have died over night." replied Lilith sadly

Luz and Amity hugged each other and started crying. Camilla wrapped her arms around Luz and Amity. Gus, Willow, King, and Hunter also started crying. Lilith wrote a note and had Owlbert take it to The collector. Five minutes later Owlbert and The Collector arrived.

"I got your note about the owl lady passing away. I'm sorry for your loss. I healed her bones and stopped the bleeding on the inside. It was up to her if she made it. I guess she was in to much pain." theorized The Collector

"We appreciate the help that you gave Eda. And thought you might want to know that she's gone." stated Lilith

The collector left the owl house and flew high above the Isles. He whipped tears from his eyes and announced "People of the Boiling Isles I have sad news. Eda the owl lady has passed away. She died due to injuries she sustained. In the fight she was in with Belos. Who took over the body of Raine Whispers. She leaves behind her son Dominic Clawthorne, adopted son King Clawthorne, sister Lilith Clawthorne, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Clawthorne. May Eda be remembered fondly." With that said The collector went back to the archives.

Gwendolyn and Dell heard what The collector said. So they got on their staffs and flew to the owl house. Thirty minutes later they arrives at the house and went in. They went upstairs and into Eda's room. There they saw a group of people around Eda's nest.

"We has to see if. What The collector said was true." fretted Gwendolyn

"It's true Mother Eda is gone." cried Lilith

Gwendolyn hugged her daughter tight. And she started to cry as well. The men and young men went outside to build a coffin, make a head stone, and dig a hole behind the house. While the women and young women. Brushed Eda's hair and put Eda in a different outfit. Once the men were done. They carried the coffin up to Eda's room. The met set the coffin on the floor. Then the women picked up Eda and carefully put her in the coffin. Dell then nailed the lid of the coffin to the coffin. Then the adults picked up the coffin. And carried it down stairs and went out the back door.

Once out back they used their magic. To carefully put the coffin in the hole. Then they filled the hole with dirt. Once by one everyone took turns talking about Eda. Later that day Camilla went back home. Luz plans on going back and forth between the mortal realm and the demon realm. She wants to graduate high school. Then she wants to live in the demon realm. Luz and Amity want to live not far from the owl house. Willow has talked her Dad's into taking in Hunter. Lilith, Dominic, and King are going to stay at the owl house. So far it seems like Owlbert is going to stay.

The next day The collector announced that Raine has passed away. Raine was laid to rest in the cemetery. Now they and Eda are together in the after life. King still plans on playing with The collector. And they will play were no one will get hurt. Luz, Lilith, and Gwendolyn plan on getting together to write about Eda's life. Seven years have passed and Dominic is 13 years old. Luz, Amity, Gus, and Willow are 22. And Hunter is 23 and King is years ago Luz and Amity got married. Hunter and Willow are engaged to be married. True to her word Lilith has been taking great care of her nephews.

Dominic is doing very well in school. And mainly practices wild magic just his mother. But his favorite magic is beast keeping and construction. And it looks like he is taking after both sides of his family. Lilith can tell that once Dominic is full grown. He's going to be a big strong man. King is also going to be big. Considering he is a Titan. King and The Collector still get together to play from time to time. It took a while but a book on Eda's life was written. Thanks to Owlbert there aren't any gaps in the story. Considering he knows all the trouble Eda got into.

All is well with the Boiling Isles and it's inhabitants. Everyone is doing well. Eda may be gone but she will never be forgotten.
