"Oh my, you weren't lying- she's so cute!"

Amaterasu hummed pleasantly as she got manhandled a bit by Kore.

The pink girl was hugging the foxy child tenderly, while Hecate spared the sight an amused grin. John looked a bit weary, but overall the Goddess of Magic saw no issue with what was going on with him. Maybe she was overreacting, but she felt something was slightly off with him. Not mentally or physically- but something in his overall appearance was off.

Still, she beamed when he admitted that he was pleased with her surprise visit. It took her some whining with Hades as she had gotten out of job a bit too recently, but it wasn't like she was planning to stay for long- and she had a reason to be there beyong mere chit-chatting.

"So, how are you dealing the task of being a twice-babysitter?" Hecate asked with just a tiny hint of concern and extreme amusement.

"Tiring, but nonetheless delightful. She is well-behaving and eats her veggies."

"I am glad to hear that," The blue woman remarked, thinking back to the brief summary John gave her on the 'Shinto Pantheon'.

She had learned from him that the world was bigger, but for him to suddenly end up with the care of a little Goddess that was the 'Japanese' equivalent of Helios sure felt as amusing as perplexing. How come the child was here in Olympus to begin with?

Sure, Zeus had long opened some limited interactions with the Norse and Celtic Pantheon, but never once he mentioned going as far as to entertain that far of a relation. Not without reason, obviously, as John was clearly unaware that there was a 'wall' of numerous minor pantheons that made a full diplomatic effort nigh-impossible without several deities and large staff groups to take care of this sort of affair.

It was a very confusing matter to someone like the Goddess, with Hecate's own awareness of the situation confirming one thing that she was sure Hera had already known about but had decided against telling John: there was a chance this was an attempt to smuggle little Amaterasu to safety.

Since this practice was common through many noble heirs that had to be disappeared, the notion was not truly surprising, but for the extent the deity that fathered this young one was indeed nothing to scoff at. And since pursuers had tracked Amaterasu in Olympus, it meant that things could potentially get awkward very soon.

Still, with Hera alerted this should be tempered to an extent. And it wasn't even what really worried Hecate the most.

"Ouch," John mumbled weakly, causing her lips to twitch at how silly he was but... well, a needle was a needle.

The blood she was drawing from his arm looked a natural red, which was expected, yet she felt a strange pull to it. Familiarity, not thirst. It was like she recognized something in it was unique, peculiar- and Hecate knew that a proper analysis had to be done ASAP.

"So... how's work?"

"Hades has been keeping an eye on Kore. I think you will be glad to know he is such a moron around her."

John looked pleased, but not in a derisive fashion. It was no secret to her that the mortal had a deep worry for Hades proving to be too much for the 'little flower'. Hades was, in truth, hopelessly in love with her and, at the same time, Kore was quite clumsy around him.

Up to recent times, Hecate would have been keen to think this sort of romance was long dead. Then Kore met Hades and... it was perfect. Then she also started to hook up with John, making that second-hand experience quite first-hand to her too.

Speaking of which...

"Before I forget, I convinced Hades that we could have a 'double date'. I will have a special pass available that should allow you to enter the Underworld safely for the night. You and Amaterasu."

Surprise flashed John. "Double Date?"

"I had to sell it in that manner because Hades was... well, I think he is a bit 'afraid' of you."

...

"Hades, the God of Death, is afraid of 'me'. You know, me, the puny human-"

"That is quite close to Kore and which opinion can either make or break a relationship."

Cogs started to move inside John's mind from his thoughtful look. "So, I get to meet him to make a 'first impression'."

"You and Amaterasu. I doubt you want to leave her alone for the time being."

"I do not, but would it be really fine with Amaterasu around?"

Hecate snorted. "Hades is a sucker for kids so, lil' Amaterasu will be just... fine- oh?"

Due to how many times she repeated the child's name, Hecate ended up gaining the attention of the foxy girl, to the point that Kore mirthfully allowed the tiny girl to bolt for the blue lady and happily hug her leg for some attention. The effect was immediate as Hecate stared down to see the child giving her a pair of giddy eyes.

"Okaachan~!" The foxy girl proclaimed earnestly, tightly holding her tiny hands on Hecate's leg while jumping in an effort to get lifted up.

"Oh? John, what did this little one just say?" The Goddess of Magic inquired, slowly picking up the child in her hands while questioning what she said.

It was clearly something pleasant as she could perceive it in her voice but... John looked deeply amused so it had to be quite entertaining.

"She... she called you 'mom'."

And this is why Amaterasu, Shinto Goddess of the Sun, ended up gaining a strong blessing from Hecate, Hellenic Goddess of Magic. Accounts of Hecate dying of cuteness that day have long been ruled out as 'foolish rumors' by Hecate herself.
