The Two
Trigger Warning: Murder, Blood, Violence, Character forced to assist another in crimes,
"Raps."
"Wake up!"
Rapunzel rolled over, smacking her lips.
"Raps!" Cassandra aggressively whispered.
Rapunzel blinked her eyes open. "What Cass? It's late..."
Cassandra looked concerned, "I think I know who Jack the Ripper is."
Rapunzel rubbed her eyes... "Who? What?"
"You'll just have to trust me. Com'on." Cassandra pulled on her nightgown.
Rapunzel sighed, sat up and yawned. "Okay, let me...get dressed..."
The two had found themselves walking around in an alleyway. Rapunzel stumbling due to her tiredness. "I don't understand why you can't just...yaaaaawn. Tell me." Rapunzel said quietly. Cassandra then beckoned Rapunzel to get low behind a few barrels that had tarps over them.
Rapunzel, confused, indeed got low, but quietly questioned it.
The silhouette of a man with a hat and a knife walked across the area, the shadow lingering on the cobblestone. "There's our Jack." Cassandra said, whispering. The man turned to the moonlight, and...It was Anthony.
"No- No-" Rapunzel stuttered, whispering too.
Petunia was there too, but she didn't look happy about it. "Anthony, when we made this agreement, you said stealing only, and here you are with three or four murders on your list. You're in the newspapers for crying out loud!" Petunia whisper-shouted to him, pulling along an unconcious woman. "I know what I said, but I meant for you! Not for me!" Anthony said, smirking. Petunia bit her lip, looking down with glassy eyes.
"Tell me the truth, why the hell are you doing this anyway?" She asked.
"Got a job, gotta do it. He won't let me hear the end of it if I don't meet my quota." Anthony ran a rag over the knife briefly. "Him? Ugh, you're kidding me." Petunia sighed, releasing her grasp from the woman's shirt. "Hey, this lady's betrayed him and I'm gonna make sure she pays for it. I wanna be on his good side!" Anthony lowly said, a dark expression on his face.
Rapunzel's eyes watered, scared. Cassandra gently pulled out her sword and was ready to try and interfere with Anthony's crime, but it was too late.
The knife struck down and was pulled out, splatters of red across the grey cobblestone and the knife coated in carmine. Rapunzel's eyes widened and tears rolled down them, her whole body shook. She had never seen something like this in her life, and she hated she did.
Petunia looked down at the blood that slowly crawled its' way towards her shoes and she took a step back, a sad look on her face. She clearly didn't want to do this, and wanted Anthony to have this same feeling. Cassandra flinched, nearly dropping the sword.
She hadn't seen something like that either...She didn't want to.
But this was no time for weaknesses, she had to do something, even if it was too late.
Cassandra suddenly jumped out, Rapunzel gasping out her name; "Cass no!"
