I just needed to publish some poetry...meep. Some of this is pretty old work, but I like most of it. For the "Fan" in Fanfiction, I'm a fan of poetry, particularly that which conveys much emotion and meaning, as well as imagery. Poe. Dickenson. Etc. That counts, right? RIGHT? *meep*
Just...ignore me and read the poem.
I was initially going to publish this first (thus the crazy author's note), but what better way to follow up a poem on cutting with a poem on hope?
Tears fall upon a broken ground,
Darkness encases the girl,
Not yet woman, but still a child,
Lost, and wanting to be found.
She cries out in sorrow,
For the loss she has seen,
For the terror she has felt,
Waiting for the dawn of tomorrow.
As she loses faith in life,
She turns to the heavens,
And lo, a light shines forth,
Melting all heartache and strife.
She stands, staring at the light,
A hope she has not seen
Shining brightly before her,
Shattering the night.
A smile sweeps across her face,
And she beings to run,
Sprinting with all her might,
To the light full of hope and grace.
She has left the night behind,
Streaming forth toward glorious day,
Her soul bursts with joy at the broken chains
She can almost fly, no longer confined.
Toward Heaven she flies,
All sorrows forgotten,
Leaving all in the past,
Letting only hope arise.
