Alright, think I got time for the author's notes! This chapter was fun to write, so hopefully it concludes the overall Tottori-arc well!

Other than that, please enjoy!

Faced against ghouls who possessed kagunes and weapons capable of piercing through ghouls with relative ease, needless to say that Haise had no intention of hiding behind the cover of the decaying structures around him. And when the elevator cart opened up when it finally reached the bottom floor, the firing squad of twenty two Dune Raiders were quick to fire off their weapons and kagune-bullets into the tight compartment; only realizing that it was empty by the time the ceiling above their heads crumbled down on them.

Slamming his kagune down hard enough to shake the foundation of the skyscraper itself, the stagger that Haise's surprise attack caused gave enough time to leap up into the air to take advantage of the confusion and disorientation felt by everyone in the lobby. Twirling his body around like a graceful dancer, Haise's shimmering-scaled tendrils tore through every raider in the large room; and like the blades of a blender pulverizing fruit, the one-eyed ghoul eviscerated his enemies up into gorey chunks of viscus that painted the walls red.

"… That's for getting in the way of my freedom, you steampunk wannabes," Haise said bitterly with his heart racing, as he did his best to brush aside the sheer amount of stress he was feeling as adrenaline coursed through his veins. 'I never wanted this… They made me do this… This is all their fault,' Haise reassured himself, coping with how many lives he had taken as he sprinted out through the blood-soaked lobby and out through the broken front of the hotel.

With his kagune flowing behind him, Haise zig-zagged while using his looted Asaki rifle to blow the tops of everyone's cranium who had tried rushing inside the skyscraper; blowing their gray matter out the other side of their shattered skulls. Once he was past the dried fountain, Haise narrowly avoided getting caught in the volley of bullets that broke the relic into shattered pieces; leaping at an angle, and over the heads of the twelve closely-grouped raiders who were sporting old automatic weapons.

Reloading his own firearm while in midair, Haise felt only a few rounds pierce through his lower abdomen before he was able to provide himself cover with his own kagune. With how fast he was falling, it was a miracle that Haise's shots were accurate enough to land critical hits on his opponents, much less land at all. Having blown the throat out of one ghoul, Haise finished the other eleven ghouls off by violently dismembering them with his kagune; his tendrils tearing their kagunes and flesh apart in chunky ribbons, before finally firing the last round of his magazine into the head of the ghoul who had been suffocating on their own blood.

Even as he felt his left shoulder getting shattered with a stray bullet, Haise was able to reload his last magazine into his Asaki rifle as he dropped low to the ground while turning toward where another cluster of raiders were approaching him from afar. 'If it hadn't been you Mado…' Haise thought to himself with his shaking hands becoming more still, as he thought about the all the times Mado herself trained him on how to become a marksman, all while sniping the group of raiders before they could all disperse behind the aged buildings of the villa that served as their arena.

With only one round left in his Asaki rifle, Haise tossed the old Type-4 semi-automatic rifle to the ground; choosing to opt out for bolt-action Type-99 rifle for the sake of its range. Keeping track of which enemy held what gun, and where their corpses ended up landing, Haise sprinted through the maze-like resort; using his bolt-action rifle to score perfect headshots on the Dune Raiders who had tried sniping him from the rooftop of a large beige-colored building that looked to be a commercial garage.

The bolt action rifle proved to have a smaller magazine than Haise had hoped for, as the firing mechanism of his gun clicked in lieu of there being no bullet in its chamber to fire; a mistake that cost Haise getting his forearm cut deeply, after he was forced to use his arm to block a large hook-shaped kagune from cleaving through his body. Caught off guard by a raider who had been waiting for him around the corner of the garage, Haise let out a yell of pain as he felt the ghoul's green-glowing kagune cut into his bone.

"Die! DIE, DIE, DIE, DI-Gwuah…?!" The raider grunted in surprise, after watching with confusion as Haise used his other arm to grapple the arm his kagune had been covering.

Digging his fingertips into the man's arm, Haise ripped his opponent's arm clean off with the kagune-still attached to it while hanging by disintegrating nerve endings. "... You first," Haise shot back with a slightly crazed look on his own eye, before raising the severed arm up and the hook-shaped kagune that was still connected to it over his shoulders; chopping it down and straight through the Dune Raider's head like firewood. Not stopping until his makeshift weapon had cleaved through the violently trembling ghoul's groin, by the time Haise had tossed the man's severed arm away the kagune wrapped around it had been dissolved.

Hearing footsteps coming his way from multiple directions through the blood-covered tiled-streets of the Desert Rose, Haise raised two tendrils up to grapple onto the tops of two nearby buildings before flinging himself through the air like an arrow. Hearing a flurry of gunshots behind him, Haise's left hand was the only part of him to get shot while he was airborne. Landing into a somersault, Haise cursed seethingly in pain as he looked down for a second to evaluate the damage.

'… Goddamnit,' Haise thought worryingly to himself, after noticing that his left pinky and ring-finger were gone; having been shot off his bloody hand. '… S-Screw it: if the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kicked ass with only two fingers and an opposable thumb, then why can't I?' Haise thought comedically to himself; the stress of fighting an entire army of gun-wielding ghouls finally caused him to become manic, but at least the strange-thought was at least enough to help him regulate the panic he was being burdened with.

Sprinting at speeds faster than what even the eye of a ghoul could keep up with, Haise made his way over to the cache of weapons that were scattered amongst the bodies of the twelve ghouls he had killed not too long ago. Wanting to heal as fast as he could, Haise quickly knelt down beside one of the Dune Raiders before ripping a chunk of the corpse's bicep clean off of its arm; shoving the large chunk of flesh into his mouth. Chewing as fast as he could, while wiping his hands clean on the defiled body's desert-uniform, Haise picked up the largest gun he could find amongst the other bodies: a Nambu Type-99 light-submachine gun.

Even in the heat of battle, Haise, as an ex-investigator and and law enforcer himself, found the top-fed magazine mechanic of the firing mechanism to be odd, since the way the upside-down magazine was positioned next to the gunner sight seemed as though it would have been distracting to whoever would have used the gun. Nevertheless, Haise did a quick weapon-inspection on the LMG, before immediately turning around to gun down the thirty ghouls who had finally caught up to him.

Being hit with a few q-bullets from the group who he had managed to mow down into piles of ground hamburger meat, Haise quickly repeated the process of cannibalizing another corpse before picking up another weapon off the ground. Had the resort been equipped with sirens, then Haise surely would have heard them as every Dune Raider seemed to be crowding the streets around him, in an attempt to put him down. Using their poor positioning to his advantage, Haise was leaping through cluster-after-cluster of Dune Raiders; using his kagune to splatter them on the brown-tiled streets, while simultaneously picking up firearm-after-firearm, each time he had ran out of bullets.

Through the amount of damage he had sustained, and the amount of RC-cells he had absorbed each time he was forced to devour more ghoul-flesh to heal himself, Haise had lost track of his senses as his mind began to slip from the sheer amount of stress he was getting out through. Not even remembering when his half-kakuja had formed, Haise's centipede form was what truly turned the tides of the battle. With less than a thousand ghouls left around him, most of them were beginning to retreat after seeing Haise's twenty-meter centipede tendrils tearing through their comrades with lightning-fast swings.

Amongst the chaos of the ghouls around him trying to flee, Haise, in his crazed madness brought onto his mental state by his half-kakuja form, didn't realize that he wasn't the only danger that the Dune Raiders were trying to escape from. Aside from there being a crazed one-eyed ghoul slaughtering them, no matter how many times they tried attacking him, the influx of "Crawlers"— the same feral humanoids created over half a century ago by GFG—coming out of the compromised sewer system were over powering the Dune Raiders with their numbers alone.

Screeching at them while flashing their pitch-black eyes at their prey, the crawlers were far slower and easier to hit than Haise, but that alone wasn't enough for the ghouls to prevent them from being dog-piled by the fearless monsters. Punching, stomping, and kicking, the crawlers would group upon downed individuals before proceeding to beat them into a bloody pulp. Without any teeth or digestive tract, the hordes of crawlers were only interested in enacting on their primal instincts to shed as much blood as they could before they themselves were killed.

Years of dreaming of a life in which he had been able to finally achieve a peaceful life with Touka, the only woman who he loved, had made Haise someone who was prepared to reject reality for the sake of keeping the illusion alive; the world around him at that point seemed unreal, and nothing short of a nightmare that he would wake up from at any moments. But in madness, and as all the Dune Raiders lied dead in the bloodied streets of what was once a shining jewel in the Tottori desert, the reality of what the world truly had become showed itself to Haise as he looked around him to see the vast sea of feral monsters who had set their sights on him.

"T-Take! T-T-TAKE!!! Take, or b-be taken frommmm…!" Haise growled out with a wide-smile across his face, as he crawled through the pools of gore around him like a crouched tiger, as the hordes of screaming crawlers trampled over one another to get their chance at attacking him.

"Steallllll… Or b-be stolen from…" Haise slurred out with drool pouring down from the corners of his curled lips, as his massive-black centipede tendrils whipped around his body faster the blades of a helicopter motor; their jagged-armored fury transforming the horde around him into clouds of red mist and bone-shrapnel, as the thousands of men and women who the GFG had experimented on decades ago charged at the one-eyed ghoul.

"Kill… K-KILL!!! KILL, OR B-BE KILLED!!!" Haise screamed out like a demon himself, as he continued to slaughter every single crawler that came out of the underground facility beneath the entire desert; from all the way to the bunker beneath the burned down cabin, to the bowels of the Desert Rose itself.

As instructed, Taiko had remained on the executive floor of the resort's tallest structure, after having told Haise everything he needed to know about where her group had been keeping the hostages, and about the army of Dune Raiders who would be wanting to kill him; revealing to him that Nakajima had instructed them to target him the moment they heard gunfire coming from his office.

Being in the same office space as those who had backed her decision to execute the man who would have thrown their lives away for a cause that was too big for him to handle, the young ghoul couldn't help but to wonder if she had made the right choice trying to protect the man who she watched kill almost all of her comrades, while the remainder were murdered by the crawlers. Kneeling down with her palms pressed against the glass panel of the window, Taiko looked down at the bloodbath with tears running down her slightly-tanned cheeks, while Haise was close to annihilating the last remaining crawlers.

'I... I don't know what I was expecting… Sasaki only killed them out of self-defense, and I would have tried to do the same if I were in his shoes, and yet… And yet I want to blame him so badly for this mess! But… But I can't,' Taiko thought to herself, as she pressed her forehead against the warm surface of the window; her eyelids closing shut, as she let out a cry of anguish. 'This… This was entirely our own fault. We brought him here, and even if we didn't, those terrible fucking monsters would have just escaped anyways, wouldn't they have?! Were we truly damned from the beginning?!'

Filled with dread, fear, and despair, Taiko felt angered and betrayed that her own group of fellow Tottori natives had essentially sabotaged themselves in two ways, the young ghoul couldn't help but to feel like fate had favored the British over her own people. Having been the one who told Haise about the Desert Rose's history, Taiko couldn't help but to wonder whether or not the dunes had been cursed not by Nakajima, or even by fate itself, but by the sins committed at the shadowy retreat for those who thought themselves above the consequences; people who weren't that much different from the Dune Raiders themselves.

Thinking back to how she compared the Desert Rose to that of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, Taiko couldn't help but to think back to when her mother read to her from the Holy Bible about the fates of those two cities. 'Smithed by forces we invoked with our own foolish hands… Guess there is a god after all,' Taiko thought cynically to herself, as she slowly picked herself up off the floor. Wiping her eyes clean of tears with the sleeve of her uniform, the young ghoul adjusted the dark-brown cloak she had on over her petite shoulders before making her way down the flight of emergency stairs.

Covered from head-to-toe in the crimson liquid of his enemies, Haise had fallen to his knees and was heaving to catch his breath after having killed the last of the thousands of crawlers who had poured out from the tunnel systems underneath the blood-soaked streets of the ruined resort. With his heart rate slowly lowering as every muscle in his body was on the verge of giving out at any second, Haise's shaky arms buckled underneath his weight until he was unable to support himself.

Feeling the air in his lungs vacating through his parted lips the moment his chest collided with the bloodied street, Haise laid on his stomach with his cheek pressed against the thick pool of crimson liquid that was still pouring through the storm drains along the gutters of the brown-tiled roads. The wave of clarity that Haise felt after the manic-inducing dopamine rush he got from his half-kakuja was enough to make the young man vomit. Breathing in-and-out in rapid-shallow breaths, Haise rolled away from where he had spewed the bloodied contents of his stomach, before laying down on his back.

Disoriented from the trauma and stress he had put himself through in order to survive going up against two armies by himself, Haise had a hard time remembering what happened next when he saw Taiko standing over him with a defeated look on her olive-green eyes; it wasn't until he was back in the of the police station, standing underneath the lukewarm cascading water of the shower head did he slowly start to feel like himself again.

Wincing as the memories of him slaughtering everyone in the Desert Rose mixed in with his previous memories of what he did to Dr. Kanou's experimented creations and the patrons of the Ghoul Restaurant, Haise let out an elongated sigh while finishing his shower. Surrounded by white-tiled walls, Haise thought solemnly to himself about how often Death followed him as he shut the water off using the sleek-metal knob mounted on the steel pipe connected to the shower head.

Seeking only to retire to Tokyo to at least try to find peace within the life he left behind years ago, Haise cautiously wandered out of the shower room where he found two white towels folded neatly beside some clothes that were placed out for him, presumably. "… That's a good sign, I hope," Haise muttered to himself, while being unable to recall most of what happened once Taiko helped him with freeing the surviving members of the police department. Using both towels to thoroughly dry his toned body, as well as his white-and-black hair, Haise placed the used towels back on the steel bench before putting on the clothes that were left out for him.

Similar to his old outfit he used to wear while working as an investigator, the red hip-length jacket, with its brown-fur lined collar, paired well with the black dress shirt that the police had purchased for him; the black single stripe down his sleeves to his folded cuffs paired well with the white undershirt that was visible from the way the top buttons of his collared black shirt were undone. Looking rather fashionable with his top outfit, the dark-gray denim jeans and designer leather-boots that had been gifted to him along with a fresh pair of socks and underwear made Haise feel better about all the horrors he went through.

'It's just clothes, but… Self-care does go a long way,' Haise thought to himself with a small smile across his lips, as he inspected himself in the full-body mirror that was mounted on the wall of the locker room. While staring at his own reflection, Haise was fixing his hair when he noticed none other than the chief of the police department standing behind him; still donning a sharp uniform that matched his authoritative aura.

"… Survivors from the dragon war say not even the rain could wash away the blood streaming through the streets of Tokyo; some even said that the only reason why there was so much rain during that time was because God himself was crying from the amount of death and destruction that were brought to Japan… But I've yet to see a problem that a good ol' bottle of Dove couldn't wash away," Gallagher quipped with a slightly amused look across his lips, as he stared at Haise using the reflection of the mirror.

Finding the joke to be inappropriate, Haise rolled his eyes at the chief while muttering "Too soon" underneath his breath; earning himself a raised brow from the older man.

"… People die in war, Mr. Sasaki; it's been like that ever since the dawn of man. You'll find that humor to be your most reliable companion throughout the aftermath of battles you've survived. To loom over what could have been done, what could have changed, and to question your past mistakes for the sake of wallowing in your own misery will only destroy you, Mr. Sasaki… You would be clever to live by that, in this brave new world you and I live in," Gallagher patronized, and remained silent while both he and Haise shared a tense glare before breaking it with a quiet chuckle.

"… But you're not interested in hearing any philosophy of this sort; you're expecting me to deliver my end of the bargain, and by God I will," Gallagher announced, as he stepped forward to place a firm hand on top of Haise's shoulder. "Walk with me, Mr. Sasaki; I must speak to you about what's to come next," the chief said, while beginning to escort Haise out of the police locker room, and through the cozy back offices.

"Other than some future therapy and time spent in the medical bay, all the forensics team and investigators they had been accompanying were brought back alive, Mr. Sasaki; including Lieutenant Victoria herself! Kudos, man; jolly good work out on the field!" Gallagher congratulated, as he patted Haise on the back as they made their way into the cafeteria.

While standing in line with a plastic tray in their hand, Haise was silent while getting served hearty portions of ghoul cuisine, as Gallagher proceeded to continue his debriefing with him. During his time in line, to the time he spent eating an artificial English breakfast with a much-needed cup of hot coffee to soothe his mind, Haise was told about how excited the British government was to begin working on reconstructing the abandoned ruins of what was left of Tottori's major trade port.

Praised for having wiped out the last of the Tottori rebellion, Gallagher was excited as he talked about how much easier things were going to be for the department, now that there was no one left to oppose the English laws that the governed was going to begin putting into place; starting with a small tax that would increase, once the British government was able to fully transform the prefecture of Tottori to its former glory, which Gallagher estimated to be within two years with the amount of oversea contractors that were coming over.

Once Haise had finished his meal, he couldn't help but to think back lament over his choices, or rather the choices that he was forced to make given the dire situations that he had been stumbling into since awakening on the beach. When Haise asked about what became of the young ghoul who defected from the Dune Raiders, Gallagher explained to him about how Taiko was able to be pardoned of any crimes she might have committed against the United Kingdom; the only downside being that she would have to be exiled from Tottori.

It was also then as Haise was escorted to the same holding room where he himself had been did Gallagher decide to inform him that he was going to be taking a "plus one" with him to Tokyo; a choice that Taiko made as a reward for helping the police department find the stockpiled amount of ammunition, weapons, and fuel that the GFG had been storing within the facility that the Dune Raiders had cracked open.

"… The ambassador himself is allowing you to make use of his own private helicopter… His pilot will be waiting for you up on the roof; it would be best not to keep him waiting, Mr. Sasaki," Gallagher said with a disappointed look in his eyes, as he watched the look of anxious excitement spread across Haise's face. "It's damn-bloody shame that you can't stay here, Mr. Sasaki. You've already been a God-send; Lord knows what else you would have been able to do if you planted your roots here…"

After having been silent for the most part throughout the chief's debrief, it felt liberating for Haise when he once again declined any notions of him enlisting in the Tottori Police Department. And with that being made clear, Haise shook Gallagher's hand before entering inside the holding cell, where he saw Seras sitting down across from where Taiko was seated; both female ghouls looking over to lock eyes with him.

Standing up from her seat, Seras wasted no time running over to Haise while dressed in her tight-fitting police uniform; her breast practically suffocating Haise, as she wrapped her muscular arms around his head. While face deep in her chest, Haise couldn't help but to find himself aroused by how soft her melon-sized breasts were, and the smell of her boob sweat he caught through her uniform made his newly-gifted pants feel tight at the crotch.

Hearing the blond officer letting out a quiet gasp, Haise immediately froze up as his face remained buried in her breast; it was only then that he realized that his erection had been rubbing against her round-muscular thigh that was exposed underneath her black skirt and above her white stocking. "Oh… I see you're glad to see me too, hehe!" Seras mused jokingly, as she stood there with one muscular arm wrapped behind Haise's head.

Silently, Seras exchanged looks with Taiko before begrudgingly letting out a sigh. "Uhh… I had this whole spiel about telling you about what an amazing person you are, and how I wish you nothing but the best of luck while you're in Tokyo, but uh… I mean… You've got a helicopter to catch, and I don't think there's enough time for… You know… That," the blond officer explained, while feeling disappointed as well over the fact that she and Haise couldn't celebrate in the way that he clearly needed to celebrate.

With Haise's face being completely buried against the top of her covered breasts, he couldn't really protest or speak up while Seras stood there contemplating on how to give her own reward to her savior. "… We're on camera, so can't do anything provocative… So just enjoy my tits while you've got them, Haise; because they aren't going to come with you to Tokyo, unfortunately," Seras quipped jokingly with her cheeks turning pink, as she felt embarrassed with the fact that she knew Taiko was watching her as she let Haise press his face deeper against the blue-fabric covering her cleavage.

It was a dirty reward, one that Haise wasn't proud of receiving; but it was one that gave him the endorphins needed to lift his spirits up, and to get the blood pumping through his body. Restraining himself before he got handsy with how excited the aroma of her G-cup sized love mounds were making him, Haise took in one last breath of Seras' chest before finally pulling himself away from her. Awkwardly thanking her for being a "cool girl", Haise needed a moment to compose himself before being dignified enough to receive a parting kiss on the cheek from her.

Receiving looks of approval and words of praise, Haise was escorted by the blond officer up the flight of stairs leading up to the rooftop helicopter pad where he and his flat-chested companion would take off. Like ships sailing by one another in the great sea of life, Haise waved down at Seras as the helicopter he and Taiko were in ascended up over the city of Tottori until she was but an unseeable speck amongst the buildings beneath him.

Smiling from ear-to-ear, Haise let out a deep sigh of relief as he pressed his back up against the seat; raising his head up to the ceiling of the helicopter's passenger compartment, being careful to not allow for the headset over his ears to slide off while doing so. 'Finally… It's happening; it's finally happening…!' Haise thought to himself, as he couldn't help but bounce with excitement at the thought of being reunited with his friends and loved ones; especially with the waitress who he remembered falling in love with while dreaming endlessly for nearly seven years straight in cryostasis.

Sitting across from him, the ghoul with dusty-pink hair that had straight-cut bangs and messy jaw-length back-hair stared at Haise with her olive-green eyes. "… Still thinking about stuffing your face between that one officer's big boobs, eh Haise?" Taiko asked with an unimpressed look on her face, to which snapped the one-eyed ghoul out of the trance-like fantasy he was having of what it would be like to finally step into Touka's newest coffee shop.

"What? No! No, I wasn't thinking about that at all!" Haise replied back with a shocked tone in his voice, to which didn't do well to convince Taiko otherwise. "I was thinking about what I'm going to do when I get back home!"

"... Which probably involves shoving your face in some other girl's boobs, right?" Taiko quipped back half-jokingly. Sighing while shrugging her hips, the young ghoul adjusted the microphone attached to her own headset, just so her words could be better heard by Haise over the sound of the helicopter's rotor blades swirling through the wind. "I'm not trying to shaming you for getting excited for getting some tits shoved in your face; I'm just… I don't know… Confused about you, and who you are as a person is all," Taiko admitted, as she crossed her arms behind her head to help get comfortable during the duration of time it would take them to land at Tokyo's still functioning airport.

Lowering his chin down so that his attention was solely on the flat chested girl instead of the ceiling above, Haise frowned as he said "With all due respect, it's unfair to judge me considering that you've only seen me when I was being held captive by your gang, or fighting for my life."

Nodding her head slowly only for a few times, Taiko once again shrugged her petite shoulders as she crossed her pant-covered legs over one another; the heel of her beige combat boot digging into the metal floor of the helicopter compartment. "Eh, I guess that's true… It's just that, like… I don't know; you seem like a genuinely good guy in comparison to the horny bastards I used to have to put up with while going from gang-to-gang… And then you mess that up by letting that British cop get frisky with you."

"… Listen, Kozumi… It's been like three days or something since I've been thawed out of some seven-year coma, alright? That's a lot of time to remain in suspended-animation," Haise said, his frown turning into a slightly cynical smirk, as he narrowed his eyelids in a way that made Taiko shiver under her skin with how intense his soul-piercing gaze was. "And then when I woke up, I was shot several times in the body, and once in the back of the head while the facility I was at was being invaded by an army of dragon orphans…"

"Not only did I narrowly avoid dying of blood loss after being smacked by a steroid-pumped dragon orphan, but I almost died several hundred kilometers away from where I used to live… I fought some giant monster straight from some Lovecraftian horror book, got blown up by a makeshift land mine, and solo'd an army of the undead AFTER single-handily wiping out a gang of degenerates who wanted me dead…!" Haise vented with his voice deep and menacing, as she watched Taiko squirm nervously under the intense glare he was giving her.

Leaning in closer with his arms resting on top of his knees, Haise remained silent for an uncomfortable amount of time to really express just how done he was with trying to apologize for his own actions. "… If I wanted to stuff my face in the consenting woman's breasts, then I'm going to stuff my face between a consenting woman's breasts. End of story," Haise stated, before slowly pulling away from his leaning position to go back to pressing his back against his seat.

Radio silence followed suit, as the only noise occupying the dead space between the two adults was the sound of the helicopter's motor twirling its blades just outside of its thin chassis. Digesting everything that Haise had vented to her about, Taiko pursed her lips together before letting out an uneasy chuckle. "Heh… S-Sounds like you've had a, uh… Had a rough week so far."

Without even thinking about it, Haise let out a chuckle as he quipped into the microphone "Mondays, am I right?" Once he realized that he had just made a reference to a certain orange cartoon cat, Haise's eyelids opened up as his face softened up. "… I haven't thought about Garfield in like… What does it make now, uh…? Seven, plus four… Eleven. Eleven years. I haven't thought about Garfield for eleven years."

Completely bewildered after hearing Haise having an existential moment from talking about Garfield, any fear that Taiko felt from the powerful one-eyed ghoul vanished as she stared at him with a deadpan look on her cute rosy-cheek face. "… What the hell are you even talking about, Haise?" The tomboy loli asked, to which made Haise chuckle humorously as he slumped in his seat.

"Listen… This past week's been "dragon" me down, alright? I'm so goddamn mentally exhausted, that I'm pretty sure I'm just being delirious right now; so don't pay any mind to me being a weirdo over here." Haise said to excuse his wandering mind, while finding it tiresome to even begin to imagine what other misadventures were awaiting for him in what was left of his home turf. "Hehe… G-Get it? "dragon", as in "draggi"-?"

"-Yeah man, I get it. That… That was a good one, I guess," Taiko said with a sheepish smile, as she watched Haise's frown curl into a soft grin after he had a moment to reveal in the pun that he was able to throw into his ramblings. '… He's pretty peaceful and cool when he's not brutally slaughtering everyone. I like him; he's cute,' Taiko thought to herself with an earnest look on her face, as she continued to stare at Haise, even as he fell asleep in his seat.

And there we have it! Haise got some "booba" as the hip-kids are calling it nowadays, and got to fresh up and get his hands on some drip before being flown back to Tokyo on a British helicopter; something that's definitely get him noticed when he gets back home.

Haise got a chance to remind himself why he was chosen to carry on Arima and Eto's legacy, when he took out an entire base full of raiders and abominations out on his own. He was exhausted as fuck by the end of it, and was still feeling it after it was all over, so he definitely deserved his rest on the helicopter.

Anyways, the next chapter will have him in Tokyo, meeting with Tsukiyama, who had been told about Haise's arrival due to his family's connections within Europe's political groups. I think for now, Tsukiyama would allow Haise to move in with him. That way, Haise has a spacious area to call home, while he reconnects with his loved ones. This is temporary, as eventually Eto would ask for him to move in with her, once they become serious.

After all, Haise's got to have some space to himself if he's going to get some romance from Karren, Matsumae, and anyone else who he might bond with. All relationships will build up to a lemon, it won't just be spontaneous as it was in the old Root H.

Anyways, onto to the reviews lol.

The amnesia aspect of this story was concluded in like, seven chapters, so for the most part Haise will do fine with the memories he has and makes from here on out. And considering that Haise and Eto are definitely going to end up having unprotected sex in this story, I wouldn't mind having her get pregnant later on. Their child would definitely be a powerhouse.

I don't think Haise has to worry about the Dune Raiders anymore. And I'll be posting this story on my AO3 account soon. Been meaning to getting around to do that. And yeah, Haise in this story is just Kaneki with a sense of humor. If anything, he's more like Kaneki in this fanfic than he was in the old Root H.

Haise this story really is just a Fallout protagonist lol. Weird-bizarre things happen to him, which usually are always out of his control. I didn't want this to be a super serious dark-edgy story, but not a crack-fic either. Taiko definitely did Ryouko some justice by shooting Nakajima in the chest. Luckily, Gallagher held up his end of the bargain, so Haise ended up getting a sweet ride back to Tokyo. Most of Haise's friends would believe him if he told him that he's been through, while those who weren't close to him would probably be skeptical.

Instead of bumping into Eto by chance, Haise would be approached by her in the streets when he's mostly isolated; only revealing to him that she had been watching him from afar the moment she first heard of someone fitting his description on the radio she listens to while writing her books. Hunting him down through her network of old associates, using her own deductive skills would be more fitting of Eto's character than having her caught off guard. Although, I do like the idea of her having at least one pet owl back home in her apartment.

And I'm glad this story brightens up your day! That makes me feel happy knowing that.

I was thinking of having Seras following Haise, but went against it since she already has a life in Tottori, and isn't going to stay there forever. Eventually, she'll go back home to London. I was going to have Taiko stay behind too, but figured she could be with Ayato, or at least have him have eyes for her while Hinami remain single for Haise.

As far as body types go, each woman will have their own distinct body. Eto will be voltupous and curvy, because like you said, she's well off. Hinami is petite, just because she's always been a light eater and is used to scarce meals. Touka is super athletic by nature, so her body is slim and her breasts are mid sized, but she has a toned ass that's smaller than Eto's.

Karren would be toned, flat chested with more muscle on her body than Touka. She would be hairy for certain. Matsumae would have a curvy MILF body, with considerably large breasts, wide hips. Chie Hori obviously would be a legal loli. That's it, lol.

Saiko is a short-stacked BBW, Mutsuki has small breasts, dark skin and a slender figure that's pretty muscular; similar to Touka. Ching-Li Hiaso is a straight up muscle-mommy with big tits, a fat ass; too bad she wouldn't be into Haise, considering she's giving off lesbian vibes.

Ihei would have a toned body with large breasts that are smaller than Eto's and Matsumae, and her ass would be toned like Touka's. Kiyoko would be in her late fifties, early sixties, so definitely a thick GILF. Kaya is tall, slender with medium sized ass and tits. Akira would be like thirty one in this story, so she's still young but definitely would have wide hips and a thick ass that's all muscle, while her tits would be medium sized. Rize is busty, and she would have gotten thicker after the dragon war; would definitely "Ara Ara" Haise.

Itori would be in her early forties, so even though she never had children she would definitely be a cougar with big breasts, and thick butt. Kurona would be like twenty-nine, so she more or less is just Touka with big tits and a small ass.

Ayumu was fifteen when Mutuski was twenty, so she would be like twenty two; same as Haise's age. If Touka didn't hook up with Yusa, then I could see her and Yusa being a thing. She would be less muscular than Touka, and be petite like Hinami with her most noticeable asset being a big butt.

Yoriko would just be petite like how she is in the anime, but taller than Hinami and with small breasts instead of being flat-chested. Misato Gori would be a muscle mommy with breasts slightly smaller than Eto's, and would be mostly ripped while still being taller than Haise. I'm gonna use her manga depiction instead of the anime, because the anime straight up made her a guy lmao.

Oh, and Haise got his memories back while being frozen for five years, not because he got bitch slapped by a tank. Probably not going to go Left 4 Dead in this story, but I'm always down to take inspiration from it and other games when writing new dragon orphans and dragons.

I think when Mutsuki sees Haise in person, she's going to think she's hallucinating first, and have a panic attack. But once she comes to teen that he's alive and is younger than her, I think that's when her yandre self will make a come back. I could see Saiko still referring to Haise as Maman, even though she would be like... Twenty seven years old now.

I think Urie would have matured since Shirazu's death. Oh, speaking of which, Hairu Shirazu would definitely be living with the Qunix-Squad. She would be like... Fifteen, yeah?

Eto was never one to be helpless or let the world drag her down more than it already did, she would be fine for the most part, but definitely wouldn't get out much since she has no one she considers to be worthy of her companionship left in her life. Maybe just Hinami, and that's it, and Hinami would occasionally swing by the hang out, but that's it.

Ayato would probably be one of those people who would be an emo punk who goes out to parties, get hook ups and then be angry about the girls he sleeps with leaving him, after not committing himself to them. Definitely has issues, since like... I just realized Ayato has no fucking life outside of Aogiri Tree and GOAT.

Well, that about does it. Have a good day!
