Author's Corner
Yahallo! Didn't expect to see an update so soon didn't cha? Neither do i. Tho the chapter is a bit short, since it's still the opening for the act, but it is what it is.
Yep i've read all of the reviews from the last chapter but i don't know how writers acknowledge it if they saw it or not, but uhh i'll respond to some of them here.
jorgerielle32 : whew, I don't know any Spanish but thank the lords for this app having a translate feature of its own so it does help. Yeah i was actually planning to implement Tobi's personality somewhere in the future chapters, but i can't quite tell you when.
Limbo999 : Uhm... thank you! i do hope that i won't disappoint you with this chapter
ItsPoet : Yeah... I'm still kinda experimenting on how i should write my stories, but by far this one is the easiest to approach for me, given that i don't have any writing experience at all. Also good luck with your fanfic as well, i've read it and i liked how it goes so far. Keep up le good work my fellow author :fire:
Oh yeah... i think i've kept y'all here for too long. Anyways i'll be seeing you again at the end of the story

Summer's POV
.
It's been about a month since the incident happened. The doctor said that, if a person with a fatal injury like the one Obito had suffered, the chance of their survival was supposed to be next to none, and yet there he was, still breathing.
But by some miracle, a recovery that should take years, was covered in the span of only 30 days. His slightly disoriented face was now smooth, the hole that was present on his chest was now fully closed with flesh, the missing pulse and lack of heartbeat is slowly returning. The doctor had originally assumed that this kind of recovery could only be made possible through his semblance. But the problem was, that Obito lacked an aura, which in order for one to have a semblance, one must have already unlocked their aura. While it does raise some questions, but I couldn't care less.
I still feel heavily indebted to Obito for saving my life. Of course i'll return the favor if he ever asks, as long as it's still within my ability then i'll try my best to fulfill it. But for now, all i need to do is wait for him to wake up.
._._.
There he was. The person who had saved my life despite his own condition. I could feel a frown forming on my face, being able to shrug off an injury like that just to help others is noble by itself, but what concerns me was, how he looked like an injury of that calibre is something that happens often. I mean, with a recovery ability like that, i wouldn't be too surprised if it did happen often...
Thinking about it makes me feel really-...
Dreaded thoughts were quickly washed away as i saw the man who saved me is finally awake after quite a long time. I felt happy to finally see him... Now he was conscious, sitting in his hospital bed seemingly... Confused
Was there something wrong?
He took a moment to look around the room, he took his time to look at each and every corner of the room, then he inspected his own body, seemingly surprised with the lack of injury, until... He stopped to look at me.
"You... Where am i?" Genuine confusion dominated his features.
Before i could satisfy him with an answer, i was cut off by his pointing arm towards me, signaling me to not say a single word.
"No... Don't tell me" Out of nowhere, he pulled out what looked like a stick made from some sort of black metal. I couldn't see what happened. It all happened in a flash. My eyes widened in horror as the sound of metal piercing flesh was heard. The white hospital blanket is now tainted with blood.
I can't do anything but freeze in place, why did he even do that? What made him hurt himself instantly after just recovering from a life threatening injury?
His confusion turned into horror, now he looked like someone who just came up with a disturbing conclusion.
"Hey Obito... Is everything alright?"
HE LITERALLY JUST STABBED HIMSELF AFTER WAKING UP FROM A SHORT COMATOSE AND THAT'S WHAT YOU ASKED?!
gosh summer you're such an idiot.
the look on his face changed, not that different from before, still horrified but a little at ease.
"Yes, Everything should be fine" He tried to reassure me, with that unconvincing face. I can feel my mouth curling downwards turning it into a frown.
He looked down, eyes focused to where he stupidly stabbed himself.
SHANK*
I winced a bit as he ripped the metal stick out off his thigh carelessly, and made it disappear into nothing but thin air, just how does he do it? He doesn't have aura nor a semblance. So how?
RIP*
And yet another uncomfortable sound grazed my ear as he ripped all of the equipment that kept him stable so far without a care in the world.
Too baffled to say anything i just sat here silently.
Obito's sudden request broke me from my silence.
"Would you mind helping me stand up? I find it difficult to do so with my current situation." Yeah i wonder why it's so difficult for you to stand up.
"I don't think that's a good idea, You're condition isn't stable yet, and with the stunt you just pulled earlier, i think you might have made your condition worse." i tried turning down his request, giving him a reason why it's a bad idea to move excessively with his current condition.
"Please." he pleaded earnestly.
I rolled my eyes, finally complying with his request, helping him to stand up.
"Here we go, now that you're up and standing. What do you want to do anyways?" i asked.
"There." he pointed out to the window across the room. "Can you help me get over there? I want to see what's outside." He asked rather softly, i let out a little sigh and complied with his request again, there's no way that i could possibly turn it down now.
After we arrived at our short destination, he went ahead to have a look at what was outside the window.
After what felt like a minute, i went and took a look at his face.
There were... Tears threatening to fall at any moments notice. It wasn't the tears of sadness or anguish. It was the tears of joy. The tears of a man who had seemingly just received a second chance to correct his mistakes. Slowly, i can see his face changing from a weak smile to the looks of a determination. His head slowly turns to meet mine.
"Thank you." he said while looking at me with a wide grin, a grin so bright that it can even match the sun itself. How one man is able to change his expression in such a short period of time is beyond me... But who cares, the one that's currently present is the most important one.
"You're always welcome." i responded to him with a small smile.

Obito's POV
.
it felt... Soft.
I'm laying above something soft. A futon perhaps, or maybe a bed? No. No. Aren't the dead supposed to not feel anything? So how come that I can still feel this soft sensation underneath my body.
Ah my eyes, i feel like i can open them again.
Preparing myself to meet the endless darkness that is the afterlife, i opened my eyes to see an unfamiliar sight once again... Instead of a never ending darkness, i was instead greeted with a white ceiling.
Confused. I sat up from my original position. I looked around the room, but all i can see is a lot of foreign objects that i have no idea of its individual purpose. Inspecting my body for it maybe changed it's state... I was right, my chest... It doesn't have the hole anymore. I don't know if that's a good sign or the opposite.
Looking at the other side of the room, then i saw her again, The woman that i saved last time. Summer Rose is what her name is, if i wasn't mistaken. She looked rather happy to see me.
Maybe i could get something off from her.
"You... Where am i?" Wait no. I don't need to know that just yet.
I figured the woman was about to say something, but i quickly stretched out my arm to stop her from saying anything.
Another dream perhaps?
"No... Don't tell me." I need to find out, i need to confirm this. With that thought i pulled out one black receiver. As soon as the hard metal surface touched my skin, and then i swiftly jabbed it through my left thigh.
It hurts
It hurts really bad
Then... Is this not a dream?
"Hey Obito... Is everything alright?" Ms.Rose's voice snapped me back to reality.
"Yes, everything should be fine." Everything is more than just 'fine', if this isn't truly a dream then...
I looked back at the black receiver that has been impaled through my thigh.
SHANK*
I pulled it out, quickly removing it. And there's also this... This, some kind of cable attached to my body.
RIP*
Removing the cable from my body. I found no use for it.
Yes, this would do... Though to be completely honest, i find it hard for me to stand up, maybe jabbing that receiver the first thing after i had woken up was not the brightest of ideas.
Well, since she's here. I might as well request her for help, it shouldn't be a problem right?
"Would you mind helping me stand up? I find it difficult to do so with my current situation." She doesn't look pleased after i made the request.
"I don't think that's a good idea, You're condition isn't stable yet, and with the stunt you just pulled earlier, i think you might have made your condition worse." Ah. So that's why, but that doesn't matter. I need to see what's outside.
"Please." I pleaded
I can see her rolling her eyes for a moment, was my request too much for her?
Short moments of contemplating was quickly broken. As Summer put my arms around her shoulder, and helped me to stand up.
"Here we go, now that you're up and standing. What do you want to do anyways?"
"There." I pointed out to the window across the room. "Can you help me get over there? I want to see what's outside." She gave me a small nod as a response.
After a short walk, i now found myself staring outside the window.
By the gods...
Beyond the window was a city, a big and prosperous city. Filled with unfamiliar buildings that go as far as the eyes could see, some screen that manages to project out an image of a person, and the people seemed to be... happy and at ease, they don't look like their tense and up in their guard, prepared to face the looming war that could happen at any moment notice.
Very different from the elemental nation that i remembered. Maybe this was a time of peace?
._._.
Someone like me doesn't deserve the chance of redemption.
_._._.
Have i truly been given a second chance, perhaps?
I found tears threatening to fall from my eyes. The thought of really having a second chance was enough to make me think irrationally.
But if it is then...
I steeled myself, finding myself a new purpose for my existence. Newfound determination now runs through every part of my blood. I shall protect the world's peace from whatever that could have threatened it.
I slowly looked at the woman who had helped me see what the outside world is like. And thanked her
"Thank you." I can feel myself grinning widely as i uttered those words
"You're always welcome." She replied with a small warm smile.
SLIDE*
I slowly turned around to see a bald headed man in a white coat, standing there from the recently opened door.
He seemed... Shocked?
"M-Mr.Uchiha, i-i see that you're awake." He stammered a little, seemingly still shocked.
More importantly, he knows who i am...
"You... Know who i am?"
The man in white took a deep breath and recomposed himself.
"Of course! Ms.Rose here has told me a bit about yourself, and your unique circumstances."
I looked back at Ms.Rose to confirm his words. She gave me a small nod of affirmation in return.
"i must say, recovering from such an injury in such a short amount of time is... Impossible to say the least. Though i'm glad that you have woken up now, but you shouldn't be walking around untill you have made a full recovery."
The man's eyes are now focused on the bed that i occupied before and sighed.
"Mr.Uchiha you know you shouldn't have taken those off." He pointed his finger towards the cable "that was supposed to help you recover fully."
Oh... So that's what it's for.
He now focused his eyes to me again, seemingly scanning my whole body with his eyes. Untill he stopped and narrowed his eyes on my thigh
"By the gods... What happened to your leg?" He asked sounding very concerned.
"It's nothing to concern yourself wit-"
"Mr.Uchiha, i am a doctor. It's my duty to check after my patients well being, and right now... You have a visible hole on your left thigh." He interjected before i could finish my piece.
"I assure you doctor, it's fine" i tried reassuring the man who is apparently a doctor.
The doctor just sighed at my response.
"Ms.Rose, was he this stubborn when he first woken up?" The doctor now shifted his focus towards the other person in the room.
With a sigh she responded. "Unfortunately... Yes."
Now i took a great offence on that. But i decided to just shrug it off
"So doctor... When can i leave this place?" I asked.
"Well... You aren't scheduled to leave this institution for about another month. But if you truly feel adequate to leave, then i could get the administration papers regarding your early discharge ready."
"If you could provide me with the administration papers, i would be most grateful." The sooner i leave this place, the better. There is something about closed bright rooms just makes me feel uneasy.
"Alright then, i'll get the papers ready." With that, the doctor left the room.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
And now there's only awkward silence...
"So... Where are you headed to? You know... after leaving this place" Ms.Rose asked, breaking the awkward silence that ensued.
"I honestly have no idea, i haven't been to this city before."
"Ooooh... Then how about you come to Patch with me? I think my family would love to meet you! Besides, you haven't eaten anything solid for a month, maybe i could cook something up for you." She offered eagerly.
"That sounds grand, Ms.Rose." Taking her offer is probably the best bet i could take, considering that i am indeed a stranger around these parts. Besides, you can't go wrong with free food.
"Oh right, i almost forgot" She was about to sprint off, but then she realized, i was still hanging on her shoulder. "Oh- right, sorry... Do you want me to put you down on your bed or-"
I let go of my arms around her shoulder and stood straight. "No. It's alright, i can stand on my own just fine. You can go ahead and do what you were going to do."
With a nod she went sprinting off the room.
._._.
It hasn't even been that long since Ms.Rose left, but there she was again. Returned, with purple clothing (which i assume was mine) folded in her hands.
"I went ahead and fixed your robe, hope you don't mind that." She went forward and handed me my clothes
I unfolded it. Surprised to see how well the condition of it now. The missing sleeve is now present, and the hole on it's torso was also fixed. Without hesitation i quickly wore it above my current set of clothing, overriding the light blue robe with a purple one.
"Thank you, Ms.Rose." i genuinely thanked her.
"Psht, don't mention it" was the response that i received. "Oh yeah, the doctor said that your administration paper is already prepared, come on, i'll show you where you're supposed to go"
She said while gesturing that i should follow her.
I nodded and followed her behind slowly.
._._.
With the paperwork done, i can now go to Patch with Ms.Rose. According to her, we're going there via riding a 'bullhead'. Now i don't know how someone could be transported to one point to another with just a bull's head. Perhaps it's some kind of a teleportation ritual?
"Right. We're here."
We came to a stop in front of what it seemed like a giant metal bento box. Is this what Ms.Rose refers to as a bullhead?
"Come on in." She gestured for me to also get inside. I trust Ms.Rose's judgement of it's safety, and followed her inside silently.
Not long until we got in, the surface now began to shake for a short amount of time, then it came to a stop, somehow now my body feels a lot lighter, and my head feels a little dizzy.
Apparently i'm making some sort of unusual face, because right now Ms.Rose now looked at me with sympathy.
"Not used to flying aren't you?" she asked with a soft smile.
Wait what? 'flying?' i sprinted towards the closest window and looked outside.
Holy shit we really are flying right now.
It took me all the willpower that i could muster to not pass out on the spot. Oh i can only hope that i don't need to endure this for long.
