I generally try NOT to leave people on cliff-hangers, but I just had to end it there for a good laugh, and ill be busy, so the next chapter might come late, so if you can't handle cliffhangers, maybe wait untill the next chapter is posted.
[You can skip this part-] As far as my health goes, I'm close to just passing out cold. I haven't slept, hardly at all this past week, and I was PLANNING on taking a nap today, but then I remebered why I hate sleeping so much, so… yeah. Anyhow.
He gently led me into the bathroom- oh no! I almost never hid the blades because Charlie never-
He froze for a second. "I think I'll take these then." He said softly, taking away the several blades with my blood dried on them. I swallowed past the lump in my throat. Was I okay with this? For the first time since I started, someone would see the damage I'd done to myself. But this was Edward and- my breath caught as he grabbed the edges of my sleeve.
I put my hand on his, and he stilled. I knew he could force me to do pretty much anything, but he didn't. He simply looked up at me, gently sliding his hand away. "B-before you do… promise me something?" I asked, trying to control the quivering in my voice and sound like I wasn't scared to death.
"Anything." He said. "Within reason, of course."
It took me a moment to recordinate myself- because his voice was so…. "Promise me you won't leave, no matter what?" My voice broke, tears flooding my eyes. I blinked them away.
"I promise." He said softly, caressing my cheek bone.
"O-okay." I said shakily. Honestly, I wasn't sure what sight would be revealed without blood dried on my arm. I usually wasn't looking when I cut, and made an effort not to look when showering. Edward grabbed a washcloth and some cleansing ointment, and slowly pulled up my sleeve. Gently. I wasn't used to it. Normally, I'd just rip it up- desperate for relief. He didn't say anything when my sleeve was pushed up, and wet the washcloth with lukewarm water. He gently wiped away the blood and I sucked in a harsh breath. Scars littered my arms. All in varying lengths and all varying amounts healed. "I'm sorry." I choked out, past sudden tears. It seemed I was crying a lot today.
He sighed heavily, applying the ointment and bandaging my arm. "It's not your fault. He murmured.
"It's not yours either." I said firmly. To that, he said nothing.
"I left you." He said, as if that was a good enough reason. It wasn't. It wasn't at all. He finished cleaning my arm and gently pulled down the sleeve. An odd expression crossed his face. "Are you… is the other arm…" he seemed awkward. If I was feeling less miserable, I'd laugh. Who would've guessed that Edward Cullen would ever become awkward?
"Nothing… recently." He raised an eyebrow. "Just scars." I amended.
"Alright. Let's go get lunch." I tried to hide my emotions. Lunch… I didn't eat much anymore, and I was sure Edward would be suspicious… but I had an idea.
"Edward, can I take a nap? I'm really tired…" it wasn't a lie, not really. I was tired… it just had the benefit of not having to eat lunch just yet.
He looked at me for a while, and, under further coaxing, agreed. I knew I wasn't going to sleep, but what Edward didn't know wouldn't hurt him.
I laied down, making sure my position was right in view of the clock. I'd sleep till 4:00 so it was dinnertime by then. I dragged Edward over next to me, and he complied, laying down and gently stroking my hair. I closed my eyes and waited.
—-
It was my nightmare again. Someone was screaming, and someone else was calling my name. Everything felt… distorted.
Slowly, I came to the realization that it was me screaming.
My eyes snapped open, "y-you?! Oh God, I must still be dreaming then."
His eyes were sad, "Bella, it is me. Think, I had told you that we would need to eat lunch, but you said you wanted to sleep first, remeber?"
I thought for a moment, and my memories flooded back. I ran into him, wrapping my arms around him and leaning my head jnto his chest. "I'm so glad it wasn't another hallucination, or just the voices." I whispered, mainly to myself.
Edward pulled me back to look me in the eyes. "What?!?"
I blushed bright red. "Oh, well… I…" he rasied an eyebrow. "Can we go back to your house? I wanna catch up with Alice."
He looked at me skeptically, and nodded, but said nothing.
—
Back at the house, (it certainly seems like we were doing a lot of back-and-forth lately.) Alice squealed to see me. "Bella!! It feels like it's been forever!! I mean- of course I know it's hardly been any…" she trailed off, captured by another vision. I felt my heart flutter in panic as her facial features became distorted with worry and horror
… and then panic.
