This For now will be for introductions to how I write and how things interact. It just to make the scene make more sense as best I can. Also this where I drop all proper ownerships to.

Luz enters the beautiful town of Mesagoza, A city of an old port from old times transformed into the region's main attraction, Narajuvu Academy. The city is filled with shops and battle arenas for pokemon and people alike. She starts the ascent up the stairs. She has to be honest though, the stairs are the most annoying part of her day just to get to the Academy or anywhere really. "Honey, I'll be going ahead of you." Her mother yells over the crowd of people moving as she starts her own ascent of the city. "Don't be late honey!" She watches her mother now disappearing amongst the many bodies moving about. With a smile, she went up the first set of stairs. The route to the school should be simple, walk straight through town center and then climb the 2000 steps to the Academy. Why did they have that many stairs? She approaches the town center. Surrounded by shops and the mixtures of great smelling food from restaurants and stalls, the biggest attraction is the pokemon battle arena right smack in the middle of town. Man, coffee sounds like a good idea right about now but maybe not as she passes the shops. "HOLA PRIMA!" Luz's trance broke by someone yelling at her.

She looked around before finding who was yelling at her. At the second set of stairs a young and energetic tan lady, waving at Luz. She's as tall as Luz and about the same age. She wore the orange version of the school uniform, brown hair with a green highlight with one strand of her hair. She also had a bracer because of her bad throwing arm. She knows fully well who that was and fully prepared for her. With a hop and a skip down the stairs, she meets up with her and gives Luz a crushing bear hug. "Too.. tight Nemona ..." The poor lady barely spoke out as Nemona dropped her. "Lo sentito prima, got too excited to see you." Nemona gives a very toothy smile. 'Well, this is Nemona, my cousin who lives not too far from. A ray full of sunshine and currently the student council president of the battle committee. She's also a champion level … man what would I have to kill to have those skills. She is my second cousin, and her family is always busier than most of my other family living in Paldea. But she's a good friend, if she doesn't always think about battling.' "Ready for the new year cuz?" Nemona asks with a huge grin. "I guess so, I want to improve like every other year …but I don't FEEL ready this year." Luz downcast as she questioned herself. "You always wanted to challenge Unova's gyms, right?" The latina question. Luz gave her a nod. "You will be ready." Nemona reassures her. Luz finally cracks a smile and hugs her back when another pair of footsteps come to meet them.

"Ummm…" A young lad a bit smaller than Luz. A pale kid with a sunhat, the spring orange verison academy clothes, and the big goofy dress shoes that gave Luz a small chuckle. He is a bit shorter than her and his brown hair covers some of his face but his brown eyes peer through his hair. "Hello …" he's being shy. "Luz, I made a new friend." She comes around The young man and wraps her arms around him as he flinches. "He is a good trainer and he beat me in his first battle!" Nemona's toothy smile shines as the poor kid is being overwhelmed with feelings. "He came in from another region and join her sister here in Paldea and my new neighbor." "Hey slow down cuz, let the poor man speak." Luz tries to calm Nemona down. She realizes what she's been doing and let's go of the kid as he finally speaks. "Thank you." he calms his nerves. "My name is Florian. It's nice to meet you, Miss Luz." Luz absolutely knows what's coming next. "Likewise." As she and Florian handshake. "You two should have a battle. I want to see how strong he is with his new pokemon." "Wait, he's still new to battling! But I thought you said you lost to him as well, isn't this much for a first day for the new guy?!" Nemona didn't listen as she dragged both of them to the battle court. Luz and the kid look at each other. "I'm sorry she just loves watching or having to do anything about battle." "It's okay, I'm just curious and see how strong you are, Luz?" Florian got to his corner. "You're sure Florian, you can say I'm your senior and I won't hold anything back." Luz got to her corner, prepared for battle. A small crowd gathers. "I have two pokemon to my name, Luz." He shows two pokeballs as he pockets one of them. "Then I will match it with my own two." The pokeball she held while she was walking her as she presented it. On top of the rooftops of one of the buildings a pale green hair girl sits on the roof of the building observing the battle about to start.

*Academy Student, Luz would like to battle*

Luz holds out the pokeball and with a twirl and Nemona gasp how Luz looks so glamorous, tosses the ball onto the field. A purple small hyperactive bat comes out. "Let's go Viper, let's do this buddy!" The kid tosses his pokeball out and a famous small rat comes out the ball on his side of the field. "Let go, Pichu!" With a little roar coming from the small rat it prepares to fight. "Looking good as usual Luz!" Luz rubs back on her neck being flattered "What's that pokemon," As Florien pulls out a phone with a face on it and it start to float in the air and scan the bat, taking dex info of his opponent. "Noibat, The Soundwave Pokemon, This Pokémon emits ultrasonic waves from its large ears to search for fruit to eat. It mistakes Applin for its food." The little phone read out loud. He put it back into his pocket and prepared for his first moves. "Alright then if it flies let's bring it down, Pichu use thundershock!" "Double team buddy!" With both trainers' responses, the rat shoots out a jolt of electricity at the flying bat but suddenly phases through the jolt as multiple of the bat spreads around the rat. "Gust Now!" Luz bark her command. In sync the bats wip a wind out of the wings as it blasts the poor rat up in the air and lands right on its back."Grrr, c'mon Pichu! Use Thundershock one more time!" Florian's Pichu gets back up and shoots a jolt at the bat one more time but all in vain as it phases right through the bat images again. "Tackle attack now Viper!" The image dissipates as the real bat was on the poor rat flanks with one swoop it smashes into the tiny rat with its body. It flies back to a safe distance but- "OKAY BUDDY, LET'S SURPRISE HER; VOLT TACKLE!" In that instant when Florian commands, the small rat gets up and starts to produce so much electricity around itself it starts to glow yellow. The rat starts to slowly charge at the retreating bat gaining momentum at a rapid pace. The crowd and Luz was a gasp in command. "What! Viper dodge the incoming attack!" The bat noticed the incoming attack and tried to strafe to the side to dodge the attack, but Pichu was fast, to the point where it caught up to the Noibat mid strafe and smashed right into the bat dead center to the body. A huge electrical explosion erupts on the field. Both pokemon come out the smoke, both laying on Luz's side of the field; knockout. Nemona, who was judging, looked at both pokemon. "Both pokemon are unable to continue, draw for these two." she declared "Nemona you didn't tell me he was this good!" Luz complained. "That was the same move he did to me and Pamwi." Nemona smiles at the memory "The tiny little Pichu doesn't naturally learn VOLT TACKLE!?" "I guess he was lucky to catch one." Nemona rubs her head as she sticks her tongue out. Luz just sighs as she recalls back Viper as Florian does the same for Pichu. The crowd quietly whispers and clapping at the spectacle. Amongst the crowd a girl with glasses with dark navy green hair with her friend, A dark skin young man; witnessing the battle. In another corner of the crowd the foreigner witnessed the battle as well. "Not bad Senorita." He comments to himself. Luz puts back her pokeball and pulls out of her bookbag her second and final pokemon she will use in this battle.

"Ok let's close this out! Go Azura!" With another twirl and the pokemon being tossed out the ball but nothing comes until she poses and the ghost-like figure of a lady right next to luz gives the audience a stargirl pose with a wink to add to it. Then the ghost gets into position. Pneumonia screaming like a fan girl as few in the crowd gave a few good whistles. "That lass has more flourishes than me." The gentleman gave a good chuckle. "Rotom, may you please." The little phone came out of Florian's pocket. With that it scans and dex the new pokemon. "Misdreavus, The Screech Pokemon, This Pokémon startles people in the middle of the night. It gathers fear as its energy. It loves to bite and yank people's hair from behind without warning, just to see their shocked reactions." The talking phone goes right back into his pocket. "Okay little ghost pokemon, nothing Fuecoco and I can't handle anything now! Go Fuecoco!" He tosses his pokeball and a little red crocodile comes out of the ball. The crocodile tilts its head and looks around. Then when it sees the ghost, its expression gets serious ready for battle. "Miss Luz, I hope you're ready for this!" Luz looks at him with a confused look. He pull out of his pocket a crystallized pokeball and Luz and the crowd know immediately what he's going to do. "Teresallize!" Energy comes from the ground looking like small, crystallized stars into the crystal ball and then tosses on top of Fuecoco. It transforms into a crystallized version of itself with a candlestick crown adorn on its head. He smiles looking at the new ability he's gotten and filled with confidence that he can take on anyone. "Nemona, did you just give this man an Orb? Were you supposed to reward this if they are able to pass a test?!" Nemona whistled, completely ignoring her cousin's question. "Man, cuz you really love to push me huh. Alright then if he can do it, then I can do the same!" Luz pulls out her own crystallized ball. "With the power of this ball, transforming into a star, to your true self! Terestallized!" The same energy goes into that ball, and she throws it at Misdreavus. "Azura, it is time to defeat evil, Hero time!" When terestallization was done, the little ghost had a crown adorn with a heart and wing. With both transformed, both are ready to start battling.

"Okie Azura let's start with a growl, intimidate him!" The little ghost started to give a menacing growl, which made the red croc tremble a bit. "Fuecoco! Use Ember! The young man commanded his partner. The crown shines as the little croc sucks in as much air as possible and spit out a huge cone of flame coming right to the ghost. "Azura protect yourself, Confusion!" Luz gave her command and the ghost eyes glowed and with the cone of flame stopped in mid-air and threw right back at the crocodile, roasting it a little. The small little crocodile looked around for his prey since the embers blocked its view of the battlefield. "Where did that ghost go?' Florian looked around as well. "Astonish now!" Luz commands what seems to be nothing. Right behind the croc the tiny little ghost scared out the living soul of Fuecoco. The poor croc backs up as Misdrevus giggles at its pain. "Bite now!" In the instant its owner gives its command the croc leaps in the air and gives a hard munch on the ghost. The ghost winches in pain but is able to keep conscious. "Wait? That was supposed to be super effective to a ghost-type? What gives?" The young boy is confused about the turn of events. Luz chuckles. "This is why you gotta take classes on how teresallize work. But I'll give you the answer to that. When the pokemon is teresallized, depending on what type of form it has attune to, it changes exactly to that type." Luz explains. The boy listens to Luz's lesson. "So instead of a ghost type… its…" "A fairy type now." Luz answered, finishing his thought. "That crown on our pokemon head tells you what type it is." Florian nods. "Now then, Azura, get him off you! Confusion now!" The ghost's eyes glowed again as the red crocodile lost its death grip on the ghost and flung away from the ghost face. The small red reptile rolls and as he slides to keep itself up straight. "It's not over yet Luz! Fuecoco, use Ember one more time!" With that command the croc did the same thing from the last time as a cone of fire about to engulf the ghost. "As much as I want to see you win, I'm still your senior, and I don't want to lose here." Luz gives a dramatic point to him. "Eat this sucker! Azura uses Tera Blast!" The Midsrevus has its mouth open as its crackling of crystals around its body and the mini dust of crystal energy starts to form in the mouth of the tiny specter. The ball of energy builds in its mouth as it grows to a mass as big as its body. The cone of fire comes in close. The ghost fires its energy ball and clears it with the fire cone. "Oh no! Buddy dodge it!" The croc giving the command starts to dodge but the ball of energy hits its mark as a huge explosion erupts right nearby Luz's part of the field. Luz covered herself from the attack to not catch smoke or any debris. Once the dust settles the poor little croc comes rolling over on the ground flat on his face. Luz sees from her side that the poor reptile is knocked out. "And with that, Fuecoco is unable to continue! Winner is Misdrevus and the winner is Luz!" Nemona gives her final call.

The crowd cheers and starts to clear out. "Not bad…" The girl with green from the roof starts to stand up and starts heading off the rooftops. "Not bad, lass." The foreigner starts to head in the way of the Academy. The ghost floats back next to Luz as it transforms back to its normal self as she hugs her little partner. "Hehe good job Azura! You seriously did a good job." The sly ghost cuddles in a good victory. Florian approaches her. "Man you seriously are strong, I hope I get that strong one day." Luz and Nemona smile at his genuine determination. "You will get there." Luz grabs her bag and starts to jog to the stairs. "Now c'mon, we don't want to miss orientation." Nemona expressions change. "Oh gosh we got to go! Rapido Florian!" Nemona starts to power climb up the stairs as the boy follows behind, leaving Luz behind. "Yeah … you will get there one day… " She lets go of her ghost and downcast. A memory of an old time past her. "Luz stop it you said it yourself, Different year, a new different you!" Luz starts to climb the stairs as her ghost follows. 'But I've been here for years … I feel like I'm progressing but I … just …' She stops mid-steps as people and students pass by her on the steps. Azura comes next to her and comforts her master. Luz gives her ghost a smile. "Okay no more brooding, let's go Azura, nothing will stop us this time!"

*BGM: Naranjan Academy theme play*

Luz starts to rapidly ascend with Azura the stairs a quarter way to the top. The school finally comes into view at the top of the stairs is the grand Narajuva Academy. A massive school with five stories high of academic learning about pokemon. The entrance leads to many paths of the school with one grand door open for people to come in and out from. Luz makes it to the top and decides to recall the ghost back into her ball. She starts moving again, passing people as a few students follow suit with her, passing inside the grand doors as she makes way to the courtyard. After a few minutes making her way to the many classrooms and halls, she reaches her destination, a huge gathering of students and fellow teachers and figure heads stand on the podium for more people to join. She catches her breath and starts to walk to the crowd of students and blends in the back of the pack of students, ready to hear open orientation. She scans around to see if she can see her mother and she does with the few other nurses and the head nurse that she's all too familiar with. One of the figure heads, the director of the school, comes up to the mic preparing for his speech.

"Ahem…" The old director adjusted his voice, queuing the audience to go quiet. "Hello and welcome, old and new, students to the new semesters to our wonderful academy of Naranjuvu. To the new students coming in, we humbly welcome you to this great family of ours. For the many who come far and wide, we welcome you to the Paldea region. This will be a great year for our doors to open to the masses of many regions outside of our Paldea. Here within our great doors are many facilities ready to teach the old and young about pokemon." The Director starts to move around the podium. "I, Director Clavell, with the many teachers as well as students are ready to guide you in learning our beautiful region and pokemon." He steps aside and presents the teachers and staff. "Our goals are sames as yours, to learns these wonderful creatures of pokemon." Clavell holds out a pokeball and tosses it and a pokemon pops out being a Pawmi. "And to bring your dreams and aspirations to shine bright like a crystal." He returns the pokemon into its pokeball. "Your story, your journey, to the many; starts here.' he gives a brief pause. "To our older students, what you need to succeed in your next line of your evolving tale is right here in Paldea and specifically here, in our great halls. But don't neglect our newer students, guide them, they may have something you finally seek." Luz listens in closing her eyes burning determination. 'I want so many things, this year is definitely different; I can feel it!' "Ten years as director of this school, Narajuvu welcomes you!" The crowd cheers as faculty and staff clap in the closing of open orientation. Up in the sky a small owl is seen flying around, looking down below of the many student bodies. It flies away.

A giant boat, far off from the approaching land, not too far off from the distance. A man who controls the boat holds a mic to their ear. "Sir, we are approaching Paldea, ready to drop off the last remaining resource we got from the mother base." On land where a lonely mansion sits near a cliffside, overlooking the sea, A person sitting in the dark. Only the light of his desk can be seen. On a lavish chair the figure picks up the mic and sticks it into its ear. "Good, once we get everything set up; Our revolutionary change will begin. This world will know what true beasts are …" The figure sets the mic down. "Soon this region will know these beasts are not to be trusted, then the world will be in my image." The figure reveals itself into the light, a person robe with white and gold, donning a mask of a god. "Kikimora…" A small figure lady donning the same different trim of green and white robe comes in. This small figure wears the mask of a bird-like creature. "Yes sir?" The little asked. "Prepare to start our operation. Immediately..." "Yes M'lord." As she came into the room she came out. The mask man sat back down on his chair. "This time it won't be like Orre or Remnant. No one will oppose us!" The figure clutches his hands tight.

So ends chapter 1 of our journey of Paldea. Stated Sooooo many times from Luz that's something really bothering her. Form what we don't know. For those in the know-how of S&V, you know what part of the story your character is in when we finally meet technically your character. This region male protag goes by Florian (kind of a niche name over the girl protag name) Also, Nemona, The sunshine battle-lust girl is cousins to Luz (Le gasp). What did you think of Luz introductory pokemon? Does it make sense that she will catch these pokemon. If not tell me. Lots of characters came up on this scene, especially my favorite other than Luz of course. For Pokémon technicality, yeah, a pichu can learn volt tackle but in game only by breeding. Let's be real though, if two pikachus mated in the wild, one them bound to have a light orb on them. There a new mechanic in S&V called terasallized and I hope I made it clear how it works. This is also my practice of how I'm going to break down fights and battles. On the final note, we meet our (not so favorite) villain. Maybe favorite villain for others but not me (as much). What you think is his end goal this time around? We're not in ToH world that's for sure.

For my first every chapter I feel ... kind of meh of how this kind of turn out, I feel the battle can be longer. For a solid week of writing this whole chapter while having covid was a godsend. I don't feel like I made too many mistakes and gave decent amount of effort to bring this out. This also marks the start of the bi-weekly updates. Every Friday I will try to upload least 2 to 3 chapters per bi-week. Also, the chapters will be also cleverly named for ones who want to see the battles and the other for school life. I for one would love if you read both. Use the BGM stuff to visualize the battle, kind of helps to see and feel how the scene is set up. If there any mistakes or many, please send me a pm or a review so I can fix it now or be conscious of my mistakes for later chapters. Your guy's input will keep fueling me as a writer.
