In Klaus' study Klaus had given Genevieve the pages of Esther's grimoire that contained the moonlight ring spell. She examined it as Klaus looked on.

"Your mother's spell is as complicated as it is elegant. She was clearly a very gifted witch."

After a pause she continued,

"Like I said, it's complicated. She bound protection magic to black kyanite stones. A werewolf with the stones is free from turning on a full moon. "It should make a nice gift. I'm sure Hayley will be thrilled."

"Not just Hayley. You'll be making quite a few of these. Lets call it an even hundred."

Genevieve frowned "That's not the deal we made."

"Now I am offering considerably more."

"Since when I'm your beck and call?

"Since I promise I will protect you from those who might do you harm. Because I needyou, however, I'm prepared to offer something more valuable than my protection."

"Which is what?"

"My mother's grimoire, from which I took these spells. You see, I will grant it to you as a gift. If you pledge your loyalty to me, beginning with those rings."

"This has been your plan all along! You want to build a werewolf army, and you're using me to do it!"

Klaus placed his hands on her as he said, "Hey, I'm not the enemy. Nor the wolves. Your abusive coven expects you to sacrifice yourself for the last of the Harvest girls. Do this one favour for me, and you need never fear anyone ever again."

Genevieve seemed bothered as she felt cornered like that but she nodded her head in agreement.

Klaus was scaling the rooftops of various buildings in the French Quarter when Elijah called him from the compound, while Hayley and Caroline impatiently stood next to him.

"Yes, brother, what is it?" Klaus asked impatiently.

"It appears our wolves have gone astray, Niklaus" Elijah told Klaus.

"They should have been back hours ago." Hayley said to them.

"We need to find them." Elijah interrupter her.

"Well, that might be a bit tricky. You see, we've located their car on a back road in the middle of nowhere. I suspect they've been shanghai'd."

"And you didn't feel the need to share this information?"

"It was my intention to present you with a problem only after I had found an appropriate solution."

"Do enlighten us."

"The only person who would be bold enough to snatch my wolf allies is the one who has the most to lose."

"I don't-"

Caroline who had been quiet until then was starting to get Klaus' riddle.

"It can't be…" She muttered to herself.

"Think about it, Elijah, who in the French Quarter banished wolves from the City because he was too afraid of them."

"Marcel Gerard." Elijah finally understood as Caroline was already asking the next question.

"Who let him out?" Caroline raised her voice so Klaus would hear it.

"That's tomorrow's problem, love." Klaus said to her on the phone. "Right now, I know that Marcel has a cloaking spell on him. The only witch who would aid Marcel with that is Davina. I'm about to pay her a little visit, but first I need leverage."

From the rooftop, Klaus looked down below and watched as Davina's good friend Josh carried a duffle bag to his car that was parked on the street.

Hayley was pacing around the compound, worrying about their current problems. Caroline came into the room to try and calm her down.

"Elijah or Klaus should have called by now."

"Worrying isn't going to help. You should sit down, try to keep calm."

"When did you get a medical degree?" Hayley asked, attempting to make a joke.

Caroline smiled as she answered, "I'm not a doctor, but even I know high blood pressure is bad for you and your baby. Especially now, since you're so close to term."

"I hate this. I feel completely useless."

"Don't you get it? You're the point of all this. Klaus and Elijah running all over town? It's all for you."

"Great. Lucky me."

"Is there anything I can get you?" Caroline offered.

"How about a moonlight ring?"

Caroline chuckled, "Elijah told me that the spell can't be performed until the full moon reaches its apex. And, of course, that witch, Genevieve needs the stones, which will be here soon enough. Have a little faith!"

"Yeah, Genevieve! Something about that witch just rubs me the wrong way. Don't you feel the same vibes from her?"

Caroline reluctantly had to agree, "Yeah, I do. But she does the spell and she's out of your life for good."

"Out of our lives, Caroline." Hayley turned to look Caroline straight in eye. "What is it, what aren't you telling me?"

"Well, she isn't part of my life and she won't be either as I'm returning to Mystic Falls soon."

"Wait, What? When?" Hayley asked shocked.

"As soon as this baby is born. I'm going to let you and Klaus live your life, raise the baby together."

Hayley just shook her head, "Why are trying to be a martyr in all of this? What about Klaus?"

"Excuse me? What 'about' Klaus? My relationship with him is over. We had a great time together but now it's over and it's time for us to move on?"

"How can you be so rational about the two of you."

"What do you mean?"

"Oh, come on, Caroline, I know how he looks at you. And you are in love with him. I know you are."

"I'm not. And I'm not discussing it any further. With anyone." Caroline warned Hayley to drop it and walked off.

Klaus and Elijah found Jackson with explosives tied to him.

"Where is Marcel? And the stones?"

"I don't know."

Elijah phone rang and it was Hayley calling.

"Impeccable timing," Elijah muttered to himself.

Hayley on the other end of the line, "What's going on?"

Jackson is fine. He's...a little tied up right now. Can we call you back?"

Klaus laughed at his joke as he discovered more bombs, with a note, "I'm back. For good. M" Klaus frowned just as the red blinking light on the bombs turned green.

Klaus and Elijah realized they have been set up so Elijah quickly grabbed Jackson as he and Klaus flashed away as quickly as they could.

At the compound Hayley had been reunited with Jackson as they discussed the missing stones.

"By now, the stones are probably scattered around the Mississippi, I'd imagine." Elijah said to everyone.

"Those stones will be hard to replace. Fortunately, I always have a backup plan." Klaus smiled his evil smile. Only for it to drop as soon as he saw Caroline enter the room.

"And what would that be, Klaus?"

"Francesca Correa. She's on our side."

"I trust you're ready?"

"The last ingredient is personal. As the spell is designed to control transformation, I need the blood of a werewolf who doesn't turn on a full moon. My first thought was Hayley, because of the pregnancy—"

"Out of the question. I'd just as soon limit the mother of my unborn child to the side-effects of your witchery. I am half-wolf, I control my form- use my blood."

Klaus held his hand out to her, but when she grabbed a knife to use for cutting his palm, he grabbed her roughly by the arm.

"If you fail to hold up your end of the deal, the consequences for you will be apocalyptic."

Genevieve took his hand and used her knife to cut his palm. She dripped the blood over the stones and it hissed as she began the spell.

Klaus waited in his study as Hayley, who had been searching for him, entered.

"Klaus, I need to talk to you."

"Sure, let' talk. What worries your pretty little head?"

"Her." Hayley put her hands on her belly. "I want to talk about her."

"Now, I'm sure there is a lot to talk about but I have other-"

"Klaus, I just wanted to tell you, thank you for everything that you have done for me, for my pack, for her future."

Klaus smiled a little at her, "It wasn't just me, but thank you, Hayley. It was time for someone in this household to notice that I'm not doing everything to just benefit myself."

"I know. We know."

She turned to leave, but stopped at the door and turned to Klaus one more time. "Klaus, I want to name her 'Hope'. It's signifies my hopes for us all, but especially for her."

"Whatever you want, love. Hope is as good a name as any."

They smiled at each other warmly when Caroline came in, "Oops, my bad, but Klaus, Genevieve said she's almost ready."

And they all went to join Genevieve, Francesca, and Elijah in the other room.

Francesca got off the phone, "My people say Marcel is on the move, and he's bringing friends."

Klaus turned to Elijah before rushing away, "Get Hayley and Caroline to safety."

Elijah gestured for them to go with him.

"Take just Hayley. Someone needs to stay back and watch her." Caroline gestures to Genevieve.

"If you are staying, then I'm staying too," Hayley told Caroline.

Francesca told Elijah, "We don't have time to debate this. You should help Klaus. My brothers and their security detail won't be much against a vampire army. I'll stay with them.

Caroline nodded to Elijah, "Go, Elijah."

She walked over to him and said, "And don't hold back."

Elijah reluctantly agreed to the plan and left to help Klaus.

"Materi lunare tua virtuse. Materi lunare tua virtuse."

Genevieve was done with the spell and picked up a stone to examine it.

"The stones are finished. I've done my part. Now, it's up to you."

Caroline, smiling, went to pick up the stones and told Hayley, "You stay put, I'll get them to the Bayou."

Francesca rushed over to Genevieve and held out her hand, "Actually, she was talking to me."

Caroline, "What the hell is this?"

Genevieve placed the stones in Francesca's hand.

"Call it a side deal, Caroline. The point is, I'm taking the stones."

Caroline was shocked, "Are you out of your mind? You think the humans can go up against Klaus?"

"No, I don't. But, I'm not human. She pulled out a knife and used it to slit the throat of their bodyguard. When the bodyguard died, she doubled over in pain. She looked back up at Hayley with gold eyes and fangs, revealing that she had just triggered her werewolf curse. I'm like Hayley. And now, I'm gonna take back my town!"

Hayley lunged for Francesca, "Like hell you are!"

Before she could do anything, Genevieve used a spell to knock Hayley out and she fell on the floor.

Caroline wanted to rush to Hayley, she was panicking, she didn't know what to do as she was against a werewolf who could bite her and a witch who could drop her too.

"Genevieve, don't do this. Don't give her the stones."

"Oh, Caroline, Caroline, why are you still in this city?" Genevieve asked her, "Was sex with Klaus so good, it was worth your life?"

Caroline looked at the Genevieve and then Francesca, "You want to kill me?"

"I do, Very much so, as you have been one annoying little thing in Klaus' life," Genevieve said, clearly with jealousy.

Before Caroline could do anything, Francesca lunged for her which resulted in her getting bitten by her and then everything went black.

Klaus wandered into the restaurant and stumbled into a custodian mopping the floor.

"I'm sorry, mate, but I'm a bit famished."

Klaus bit into his neck and fed on the man. He held out his hand, which was still bleeding. Genevieve came in and laughed at the sight.

"You look awful."

"Why aren't I healing? What have you done to me?"

Genevieve approached him, "Well, you're the one who wanted me to cast the spell. So, I made your stones... by linking their power to your blood. And now, each full moon, whenever a werewolf uses their power to keep from turning, they'll be drawing from your strength! And causing you pain.

Klaus in pain, "After all I offered you, you betray me?"

Genevieve knelt in front of him "Look me in the eyes, Klaus. Were you ever planning to give me your mother's grimoire?"

Klaus glared at her, "I suppose you'll never know."

Genevieve stood and started to leave, "Francesca kept her end of the deal. There is, after all, honor among thieves, even if they are werewolves. And as for you? The great irony is, in wanting to take the city, you lost EVERYTHING. " Klaus pulled himself to his feet."Your sister Rebekah, your adopted son Marcel, and now, even your child and her mother will suffer, not to mention Caroline, she won't live to see the morning either. All because of your greed."

Klaus lunged at her, but he collapsed before reaching her.

"I WILL kill you."

"As weak as you are? Doubtful."

She used her hand to put a pain infliction spell on him until he passed out.

A group of witches including the Harvest girls (except Davina), accompanied by Genevieve, were dragging a struggling Hayley by her arms into St Ann's church toward the sacristy. Hayley screamed in fright in hopes that someone will hear her.

"We should take her to the City of the Dead." Monique said to Genevieve.

"We won't make it, the baby is coming now."

"No! It's too soon! Ahhhhhh!"

"Apparently not." Genevieve told her.

"AHHH! LET ME GO!" Hayley screamed.

"You need to be calm, Hayley."

"Why are you doing this to me?"

"To be reborn, you must sacrifice." Monique told Hayley.

"What does that mean, you psychotic little bitch?

"The ancestors demand an offering in exchange for power." Genevieve explained things further to Hayley.

"You and your child will be a fine offering." Monique added.

"No! NO! You will not take my baby, I will kill ALL OF YOU!"

"I'm sorry, Hayley, but this is the way it had to be." Genevieve told Hayley.

Hayley continued to scream from the top of her lungs, hoping that someone would hear her, but nobody came to her aid as the witches pinned her down on the floor in preparation for her labor.
