At long last, tomorrow was the school festival.
"Gotta close up the gym, so let's do a final run!" Said Iida. We were training, going through our final run-through of the show.
"One two three, one two three! BAM!" I told them. "And then Aoyama exits center stage via Midoriya!"
"Roger!" Said Aoyama.
"Midoriya! Still looking sloppy. Go! Go! Feel it!" I told him off.
The stage crew was sitting down nearby, Eiji chatting with Sero. Sero was saying, "In the beginning, we were nervous since we're all amateurs. The band and the dance squad are looking like real pros up there. Coach Ashido sure knows how to whip em into shape!"
I smiled at that, feeling super flattered. Eiji called out "Of course she'd give her all for something she loves!" And I felt my face going red a bit with embarrassment. "We ain't gonna let the band be the only one killing it with this performance!" he added.
"Well, now I'm simply nervous," said Yaomomo..
"No weird ebb-libbing tomorrow, ok?" Jirou told Bakugou, who growled "Huh?"
"We don't want anyone thrown off."
"You're so harsh!" Said Kaminari.
"She doesn't just mean you, Kaminari," said Tokoyami.
"Then Midoriya leaves the stage and scampers up to the ceiling to get Aoyama into position. He'll rise up on those ropes."
"IT'S ALREADY GRR 9PM!" Hound Dog slammed the door opened. "STUDENTS GOTTA LEAVE BY NINE, GRR!"
"Yikes, we're leaving!"
Now all that was left before the festival began at 9am the next day was to go to bed and get up.
But for most of us, we stayed up.
"I can't sleep!" Yelled Kaminari.
"Keep it down, people are sleeping upstairs!" I yelled at the from the couch, where Eiji and I had been talking for hours.
"Everyone's sure in high spirits," said Iida.
"It's best not to think about it for now," said Jirou. "If we start feeling nervous or shy, it'll hurt the performance. Once we're onstage we just gotta role with it and have fun."
"Ehh? I seem to remember someone getting all red in the face!" Kaminari teased her.
"That's completely different!" She told him, brushing him away. And totally blushing. Bet there's something between them!
"What Jiro's saying applies to a lot of situations really," said Midoriya.
"Oui!" Said Aoyama. "People can do great things when it's for someone else's sake," Midoriya continued.
"The rope's all frayed."
"Wow, it must be because we practiced so very long and hard," said Aoyama. "It is proof of our strong friendship, yes!" He smiled at Midoriya.
"Sure, but it could be dangerous," said Midoriya. "Sorry. I didn't notice until now."
"Can't Yaoyorozu create some more? She would be most helpful!" Said Kaminari, imitating her.
"But Yaomomo's already asleep!" I told them off. "And she ain't your personal tool factory!"
"Well everyone treats me like their personal generator!" Kaminari whined.
"I'll buy some more first thing tomorrow, since I'm the one who should have noticed," said Midoriya. "I've got my personal training, plus some other shopping to do anyway."
"Wait, we're on at 10AM, and most stores don't open until nine," said Kaminari.
"There's a hardware store about 15 minutes from here. I'm pretty sure they open at eight, actually."
"That's still cutting it close, man."
"We'd better catch some Z's for real!" I stood up, stretched, and smiled.
"Great! We'll pick it up tomorrow. But listen up, fellow nite owls!" Said Eiji. "We're gonna pull this off!"We all threw our hands into the air with a big smile. Go, team, go!
