Chapter 18

Willow and Buffy were having lunch at very much conveniently Riley owned restaurant, as Will had been adamant about seeing her today, right now… completely excited that Buffy was back. She had not been too happy to hear from the paparazzi that Mrs. O'Donnell had been spotted arriving at the airport at the late hours of the night.

So after much apologizing and Buffy promising to meet for their friendly gossiping at least four times a week, she'd finally forgiven her.

They were mid conversation… catching up and all when Buffy's phone buzzed…

/

Angel had just slipped on his blazer heading out to his lunch meeting from the office, when at opening the door, saw Cordelia approaching…

"Good…" she hurried to him, "I was afraid I might not catch you. The business group has requested for the meeting to be pushed back and be held at your home…"

"What do you mean that the business group wants to change the time and location… why?" he answered more than bothered.

"You know as much as I do, that our families are constantly being watched by the public…"

"Meaning they heard my wife's back…" he sighed in frustration.

"Exactly… they would like to meet Mrs. O'Donnell in person, I think their hoping she hosts a dinner event tonight…"

"God Dammit!" Angel grumbled…

Cordelia pulled Angel back into his office, "Look… if you want my honest opinion, being that they are very family oriented… this might be thing to put the deal in the bag…"

Angel seemed to consider that for a moment… part of the negotiations had been held at the different houses of the business partners as the wives had been by their sides. Well… all things considered, this was the fine dining and wining of people who he was trying to convince from wanting to destroy a family park donated by his family to the community, to build some private school building. He'd been fighting them by offering the facilitation of other option properties for their plans but they just weren't budging.

"I guess it's worth a shot…" he said after a moment.

"Great!" She voiced excitedly, "Because I kind of told them it was a done deal…"

"Cordelia!" he scolded.

"Oh get over it… I think these just pretending to be good people will agree once they meet you're adoring wife…"

He quirked an eyebrow, "If things were that simple…" he paused, "what makes you think that after weeks of propositions, meeting MY wife will make a difference…"

"Because our family's business world holds a high place in society that was not technically complete when your wife went off to have a career…"

He gave her a look of disapproval about to argue, when she continued…

"THAT does not mean that she should follow our family's traditions or legacy but you know how this works and how it looked when you guys left… even O'Donnell stocks went down with your departure and have only risen half a percentage since your return…"

Angel couldn't argue with that… he knew that he could do whatever he wanted, but at the end of the day. Business partners, associates, and the public fully affected their wealth. His father hadn't spoken to him because of it, and his mother would avoid speaking of business to not bring up unpleasant conversations.

Everyone had made their position clear before the wedding and there was really nothing to it now if they would argue and end up in the same place.

Cordy approached her cousin, "I don't mean to be harsh, but I pride myself in telling you things how I see them…"

Angel nodded.

"I wish I could say that our social lives have nothing to do with business, but it all comes hand in hand. That is why I'm SO glad for whatever reason Buffy's back…" Cor grinned.

"So am I…" he smiled, "which reminds me, off topic… did you make that appointment?"

"Yes, I did… and…" Cordy narrowed her look, "wait a minute… that's why she'd back isn't she, Buffy's Preg…."

He clamped his hand over her mouth, "There is a possibility yes…" he grinned goofily as he whispered, "but we have to make sure and YOU can NOT tell anyone…"

Cordelia squealed, "Oh my god! I'm so excited for you…."

"Shhhhh…" he told her, "Not one word until we know for sure, I just… I don't want to jinx it…"

Cordy rolled her eyes, "Okay… I will lock it away…" she mimicked locking her mouth with a key and throwing it away.

Angel chuckled, "Now go away so I can call my wife… at what time are we expected to serve dinner…?" he said sarcastically.

"At seven, cocktails at six in the evening… I'll see you there then… OH! And the appointment for Buffy's at eight in the morning tomorrow with Dr. Rupert Giles…"

"Right, thanks Cor, and one more thing…" he began, "did you start scanning resumes for that personal assistant I'm looking for?"

"Sure did…" she grinned, "Cause I'm great like that…" she approached him looking through her file of notes and pulled out three pieces of paper. "I've narrowed it down to Faith Lawson, Tara Mclane, and Kendra Young… all with great recommendations; it's pretty much a matter of what you are looking for, for her…"

Angel took the resumes putting them into his briefcase to scan for at a later time… "Thanks Cor, now you can go…"

"Kay… see you at six…" and with that she was gone.

Angel began preparing the paper to take home for the business deal, if it all went through then maybe they could have them signed tonight. He then picked up his phone and dialed to his wife…

/

"I love you…" Buffy said, "And don't worry… I will impress the hell out of your associates for this deal…"

Angel chuckled, "I'm sure you will… see you in a bit, Love you…"

"What was that all about…?" Will asked.

"Ugh… business dinner tonight that I apparently have to host..." Buffy said nervous, putting away her phone.

"Where'd all the confidence transpiring into the phone to your sweetie go?" she giggled.

"Like I should let him know I feel incapable of…" she said rolling her eyes, "but I plan to call on my mother-in-law, I'm sure she'll have some helpful tips…"

"I'm sure she will…" Will smiled as they enjoyed the rest of their meal. Willow had asked about Dawn and Xander, which Buffy was happy to report that he seemed to have found himself a girlfriend. Dawn was still unaware of her sister's arrival, unless she watched the news, because she was waiting to not disturb her of her finals.

Biding her best friend her goodbye, Buffy knew she was going to have to hurry to get everything settled if everything was going to work out for tonight.

Losing count of how many stressful hours later… Buffy was slipping into her evening gown for the night. It was to be elegant and demure, but intentionally a little sexy for her man. After all, she'd been home only one night and she wasn't done having him…

He'd rushed home after making some stops at the clubs that he owned just in time to jump in the shower, slip into his suit and make it downstairs for the arrival of their guests. She should have been mad at him for not allowing enough time to squeeze in a quickie, but she planned on making him pay after the guests left.

Isa had given her, her whole book of contacts that she'd acquired over time since she had had to be in Buffy's position once. Isa rarely needed to be the host of such events anymore, since they were more of a 'for fun nature.'

The New Food Caterers had arrived, set up, and were already dressed to begin their services as soon as the guests arrived. Buffy asked Henry to stay and take cars offering a big bonus for his help, though he tried to deny, but she'd insisted.

Soon… Angel was down stairs and by her side when the first couple arrived… lucky for Buffy it had just been Cordelia and Lindsey that appeared…

"So are you guys like a thing or just…" Buffy let the question hang.

Linds laughed, "It had been kind of just friends with benefits…" Cor smacked him, "hey… you didn't let me finish, but…" he turned to Buffy, "I found myself falling for her bubbly, talkative self… and I mean that with a lot of affection…" he added at the sight of Cordelia wanting to beat him again.

"He is though my best lawyer now…" Angel whispered to Buffy hugging her from behind, "It just happens to work now since I need them both here for the company…"

They all laughed at that as Cordelia and Lindsey took in the inside of the house.

"Wow…" Cor said, "The house is really amazing…"

"Looks oddly tidy…" Linds thought out loud, "like unlived in…"

Buffy giggled, "It's because it is… I have been here about a day and it was my understanding my husband hadn't been staying here…"

"It was just too big without you…" Angel smiled at Buffy.

"It's still too big just for the two of us…" she returned.

"Ah… but I plan to fill it with tons of children…" Angel grinned knowingly.

"Pffft… and who's having said children, huh?" Buffy raised an eyebrow playfully.

"Oh I don't know… some cute… petite… blonde…" he strutted her way a seductive tone on his voice.

"Hey, hey, hey… we are standing right here you know…" Cordelia reminded, and just when she was about to make a joke… the door bell rang.

"Here we go…" Buffy said to herself heading for the door.

The next half hour had been passed in greeting the guest, inviting them into their new home, while being the pleasant hostess to all the arrivals. Every single one of them had come of firm and serious, calling her Mrs. O'Donnell, but before the announcing of dinner they seemed to have relaxed and were actually enjoying their time there.

Dinner had been spent in witty banter and hardly any business conversation, which was something that rarely ever happened at all, but the more time that passed the more everyone seemed to take a liking to Buffy. Which was what seemed to be the main goal of all the business associates this evening…

Angel had actually caught himself jealous of all the men's wanting to want to speak to his wife, but he pushed it back knowing it was all for their social standing. It was as if this was Buffy's coming out party as the wife of a very powerful man in the business world, and they wanted to know her worth.

Then after a moment… the head of the Wood Associates said as he stood, "Well… thank you for the lovely evening Mrs. Buffy, but dare I say your husband and I have some business to discuss… gentlemen…" he gestured for them to follow his lead, "ladies… we shall rejoin you soon…"

Angel stood buttoning the buttons of his suit while placing a delicate kiss on Buffy's cheek. She smiled warmly at him with hope in her eyes as she heard him call for…

"Lindsey…" he gestured in a serious face to come with him, as he led all the men to the study of his house. It seemed everything had gone well, but he didn't want to cry victory just yet.

As the men left… Buffy then turned to the table filled every other chair with older women and she said, "Would any of you like to have their coffee refilled while joining me by the garden?" she paused, "I would really like to try out the fountains we acquired…"

They all quickly nodded their yeses and headed for the back patio… Cordy gave her a smile of congrats; she was dam sure that this deal had just been conquered.

/

A passionate late night later, a perfectly new dress now destroyed from Angel's im-patientness and literally tearing it off her body. They lay naked entangled in the sheets of their bed…

"You never even told me how it went or what they thought of me…?" Buffy whispered giving him a smile.

Angel chuckled, "You're kidding right? All they did when we went into the study was rave about you. They kept on saying that that's why I hadn't forced you to stay in the States, because who would want to lose a woman like that by imposing my will…"

Buffy's eyes sparkled… "I'm glad; I just didn't want to ruin this somehow for you…"

"Impossible…" Angel pressed his lips to hers… slowly gliding over hers as he slipped his tongue in to explore and play with hers…

She hummed happily…

"So just to be sure… you signed the deal…?" she questioned hopeful.

"We closed the deal…" Angel confirmed, "Lindsey has all the contracts, and construction for the Private School they want will break at an uptown location, and why… the hell… am I talking about work… when I can be… doing… this…"

He began nipping at her neck… kissing at her collar bone, as he placed delicious open mouthed kisses down the valley of her chest, circling her sensitive swells while lapping at the buds enticingly…

Buffy had wanted to scold him for him not allowing her to want to know about his job, but the way he was caressing her skin, with the wonders that he was doing with his mouth, had her lost unable to make coherent thoughts. All she was aware of now was the gliding of his tongue down her belly… as he swirled into her belly button while moving even more further down, to that sensitive part of her body that was already throbbing with need…

His manhood was vibrating with desire awareness at her reaction to his touch as her pants got shallower and needy… everything was already so much better. He was thinking that Baby O'Donnell couldn't have come at a better time… he was happier than ever, Buffy was back, and her presence had been all that took to close the deal.

With new found energy and determination… after teasing her thighs with kisses and nibbles as she writhed in yearn under him…he gave her what they both desperately wanted. He let his tongue lap at the sweet juices of her awaiting core… as they both shivered…

Tomorrow… Dr. Giles would confirm the first of many blessings to come…
