A/N - We haven't gotten a Cal update recently so here's a small conversation with him before the rest of the chapter. He'll be a bigger part as the story goes on (just haven't figured out where to place him in the current chapters).

"Good news! Your family finally found your cousin."

Cal was no longer restrained, but in a Kryptonite-lined cell. The Kryptonite that Lex injected into him had weakened him enough to give a mild flu, but the human part of him was able to fight it off. He was thankful that the experiment was on him and not his mother, as he knew it would have killed her like Lex had said. The Hellgrammite's Blood had weakened him slightly, though in conjunction with the Kryptonite it had seemed to cancel each other out.

"So what's your grand plan with me? You haven't killed me yet which tells me you're not going to. You already stuck Kryptonite and this Hellgrammite's Blood into my veins which got me sick, big surprise there. What else do you plan on doing?"

"So much. You'll find out when the time is right. Like I said, Calvin, world domination. And I keep my promises, and that's that I'm going to make you better than you are now. Soon I'll be your favorite family member, past and present."

"Never in a million years."

In the med bay, Alex was able to stabilize Evan with no major issues. The blood transfusions had seemed to aid in the recovery process more, healing almost all of his wounds until they were virtually gone. Alex and Lena had also taken a sample of his blood to the lab for processing to try and determine what Lex did, while J'onn scanned for any psychic activity in his brain. Thankfully, he had quickly cleared him of any sort of brainwashing, but couldn't promise what his mental state would be like when he woke up.

With no new information and Evan's stats responding well to the blood transfusions, there had been nothing else for anyone to do at the moment but wait for Evan to wake up, and the blood results from the lab. Alex had already made the decision to stop transfusions as he hadn't seemed to need it after his wounds were healed. Kara was in the conference room briefing Lena, Winn and J'onn what she saw, giving Maggie and Alex time alone with their son. Lena had asked to talk to Alex alone at some point, but if it was what she thought it was, both of them knew that now wasn't the time to do so.

Maggie had been sitting in the room watching Evan when Alex walked in and sat on the opposite side of his bed.

"Lab samples are processing, but I don't know what they'll come up with, if anything," Alex said, keeping her eyes glued to the monitor.

"It has to come up with something, right? I mean how is he healing so quickly? He barely even has a scratch on him now."

"I don't know. We're going to have to figure that out as we go along."

Maggie nodded, not knowing what else to say. The two sat in silence for a few minutes before Maggie spoke up again. The slow beat of the monitor and Evan's steady breathing were the only other noises in the room.

"Are you okay?" Maggie asked.

Alex looked taken back by the question, trying to read Maggie's expression. "Am I okay? Are you okay?"

"I'm just worried about him."

"Maggie, are you sure? I saw your expression in the lab-"

"I'm fine, Danvers," Maggie quickly interjected, trying to move past the topic. "It's just a lot. For both of us, I'm sure."

Alex and Maggie both thought back to the first night they found themselves in the lab under the bar. Both of them had thought it was the last time they would see each other alive, even more scared of the ramifications of Lillian brainwashing Maggie. Alex had remembered how broken she was after, and couldn't imagine going through the same thing again with Evan.

"I don't know how that lab is still there though. Didn't J'onn have the agents board it up?"

"Boarding it up doesn't mean they couldn't have gotten it back up and running again. It's been 25 years since Cadmus, Alex, and 15 since we've last seen Lex. None of us would have thought that under the bar was even a possibility to look again. Who knows how long Evan's been down there."

"Or if Lex tried to lure us in there for a reason."

"I can't even think of that now." Maggie looked down at Evan, redirecting both hers and Alex's attention back to him. "Us, Kara, Lena. We've all tried so hard to move past everything that happened. We tried to protect the kids from it, and now look where that's gotten Evan and Cal."

"Yeah. Lex is out of prison and the first thing he wants to do is go after Kara and our families again." Alex let out a deep sigh. "I'm sure he's been through hell, but he's a Sawyer. He's alive, Maggie." Alex said, offering Maggie a small smile.

"Al and Jamie were right when they said Cal was trying to tell us that Evan was really okay. Now we just need to find him."

"And we will find Cal. I'm just glad Ev's not…" Alex's words trailed off.

"Not like you were when Kara and I found you?"

Alex nodded. "Or like when I found you with Lillian and my dad. Right before she pulled that damn switch and turned you both against us." There was a quake in her voice, and Maggie grabbed her hand.

"Hey, he's stable right now. And that's all that matters."

Jamie ran into the room. "How is he?"

"He's stable." Alex looked over at the monitor, the steady beeping keeping her from losing it. "Now all we can do is wait for him to wake up. We won't know what kind of things he was put through until then."

"But he is going to wake up, right?"

"We hope so, J." Maggie turned to look at Jamie, and the latter could tell the exhaustion in both hers and Alex's eyes. "I'm guessing you had no luck finding any sign of Cal down there?"

"No. That door was a fake. It led to a solid wall. It's like they-"

"Transmat tech," Alex muttered.

"What?"

"They used transmat tech to get out of there the last time."

"Last time? You mean you've seen that place under the bar before?"

Alex nodded. "That time that your mother was brainwashed. That's where I found her. Lillian had her and your grandfather, and they vanished into thin air. They used transmat technology the Daxamites had during their invasion. I thought we had lost her there."

Jamie didn't know what to say. As she had learned more about Cadmus and what Lillian had done, she realized the extent of the pain her family had gone through years ago.

The three remained in silence, the monitor and Evan's breathing being the only noises between them for a few minutes. Jamie stared at her brother, silently pleading for him to wake up.

J'onn walked into the room. "Alex, Maggie, have a moment?"

The two women looked down at Evan before Jamie walked over and put her hands on each of their shoulders. "You two go. I won't leave his side."

Alex and Maggie nodded before giving Evan's hands one last squeeze. Each of them kissed Jamie's head before walking out with J'onn.

J'onn led Alex and Maggie into the conference room, where Lena, Kara and Winn were sitting. On the big screen, Evan's vitals were pulled up as Lena took notes on them.

"How is Evan?" Kara asked.

"Well, he's stable." Maggie sighed. "Jamie's sitting with him now. We won't know more until those lab results come back, or until he wakes up."

"Where's Alex?"

"He went to get my laptop from the office. We may have to recheck each old L-Corp and Cadmus location that we've already cleared."

"You were okay with sending him alone?" Alex asked.

Kara nodded and Alex, Maggie and J'onn all sat down. "It's around the corner from here, and he has his comms and tracker activated. Besides, he should be here-"

The group turned their heads as the younger Alex flew in from the balcony and walked into the conference room.

"-now," Kara finished.

"As requested." The younger Alex handed the laptop to Lena.

"Thank you."

Alex smiled at his mother before standing at the doorway, unsure whether to stay or go.

"So run it through one more time what happened," Lena directed towards her son, inviting him to sit down with everyone.

"Jamie and I were about to leave the bar when all of a sudden an alarm started going off. Everyone in the bar was trying to figure out where the sound was coming from, because it wasn't anywhere on the surface. We saw the flashing through the floorboards and J used her powers to go through the floor. She saw him, and then I pulled the floorboards up and we got to him."

"So when I got down there, that's where he was? You didn't pull him out of the restraints?" Kara asked.

"No. He was laying face down near where the switch to the alarm was."

"Those restraints were Tameranean technology. I don't know if I've heard of any humans getting out of those," J'onn observed looking through the photos agents took.

"So you're saying my kid's turning into a metahuman?" Alex asked.

"His wounds did heal at incredible rates once he started getting blood transfusions," Lena noted. "And we won't know how he got out of the restraints until he wakes up."

"And he barely had a scratch on him when we found him in the lab," Kara commented.

"Okay so you're saying Lex turned him into a vampire?" Maggie raised an eyebrow.

"Pfft, no, I doubt he's a vampire," Winn chimed in. "I mean maybe he needed more blood than others, and the wound healed faster than normal humans. But humans need blood too when they lose a lot. And Kara, for example, heals so quickly and she just needs yellow sun. Even if he was a vampire, that's cool-"

"Agent Schott, you're rambling," J'onn interrupted.

Winn nodded, his face turning red.

"I just wouldn't rule anything out until the lab gets everything processed," the older Alex said, staring at Evan's vitals again before nudging Maggie. "Aside from the vampire thing. I think we can take that out."

The room broke out into small smiles. It was enough to lighten the mood slightly, even though their world was still dark. As stable as he was, every one of them had the possibility that Evan wouldn't wake up in the back of their minds. They also had no leads on where Lex had Cal, which made them grow more worried each day.

J'onn was the one to break the silence. "So what are our next steps?"

"I think maybe it's best for Lena, Al and I to focus on trying to search for Cal and Lex, and maybe helping with drills, while Alex, Maggie and Jamie focus on Evan," Kara suggested. "I don't know what the recovery time is going to look like for him, but you should be there for him."

"Maybe it's best Jamie be with you guys for the search and training. We don't know how long it will be until he wakes up." Maggie rubbed her arm in anxiety, afraid of the possibility that he might never wake up. "As long as Jamie's okay with it, of course."

"I agree. Maybe J'onn can lead the Science Police and Jamie can lead the DEO while we take care of Ev," Alex added. "What about you guys, how do you think you'll approach this?"

"Well, I'll look into the L-Corp files and see if I can find anything else on Cadmus or other projects that were abandoned. It could lead to something. Winn, maybe you can help?"

Winn smiled at Lena. "Of course. We're going to bring them home." The two had more in common than they realized, coming from families with notorious criminals. Though Lena had more of a target on her back, Winn knew what it was like to prove that they were nothing like their villain counterparts.

The younger Alex stared blankly towards the center of the table. He thought carefully, debating whether to say what was on his mind. The voice of Lena had pulled him out of his thoughts.

"Alex, are you okay?"

"I just thought of something, but it's nothing."

"What is it?" Kara asked. "At this point, we need to look at all of our options."

Alex tried to dismiss it, not wanting to bring up more memories in front of his Aunts or mothers. "Mom I don't know if I should-"

"Alex, just say it!"

"The bunker. The ship bunker."

The older Alex winced, and she could feel everyone's eyes on her. Though everyone had looked uncomfortable at the idea, they also knew it may be their best bet.

"I-" she started to speak before there was a large crash that startled the room.

A/N - Hm, what do you think Lena wants to talk to Alex about? Also, I realize a lot of the story is still building up, and it will most likely wind up being longer than the original due to all of the character dynamics. There will be more with Sanvers/Supercorp soon, and I have a pretty good idea of the direction/plot I want to go for as well. Thanks again for reading, and any feedback/comments/kudos is much appreciated!
