Hello everyone and welcome to the third chapter of Nanami's Cultivating Guide to Becoming a Land Goddess. With me again is my friend and Co-Writer, Darklord331.

Dark: Ah, greetings fellow students. (Dressed as a typical chinese wise man)

… Why are you wearing that…?

Dark: I have always been like this. I have gone to the taoist faction and gained lots of knowledge and wisdom about their teaching of dharma and karma, the beauty of cultivation itself.

… Right… Anyways, did you bring today's guest?

Dark: I have, please come in. (Nanami walked in, looking nervous but waves)

Nanami: "Uh… H-Hi~"

Dark: So nice of you to join us young cultivator.

Nanami: "I-it is a pleasure to be here… how did I even get here?"

Long story, just know you're in a pocket out of Space and Time.

Nanami: "What's that supposed to mean?"

Dark: Nothing important young cultivator, now tell us of your opinion of your new position as a new land goddess.

Nanami: (Gives Dark a flat look) "What do you think…?"

Dark: Unfortunately I do not know young lady, so please if you could please give us some of your kind insight if you could.

Now, now, let's not get into this, we still have to get to the chapter, you two.

Dark: Ah of course, would you like to have the honor of putting in the disclaimer young cultivator?

Nanami: "Uh… What am I supposed to do?"

Dark: Read the following that the system will give you.

Light/Xara nodded in augment)

Nanami: "Uh, okay. Both Light/Xara andDark do not own Kamisama Hajimemashita/Kiss or any other franchise that is used in this story. The only things they open are the changes and OC. Like that?"

Dark: Yes, now then onto to- (Dark stopped when he felt something on his leg, when he glanced down, he saw it was an energy construct, when he looked where it came from, it was just by the door near him) oh. (Then the energy tentacle started to pull him to the door) GAAAHHHHHH! HELP ME!

Gods dammit… Everyone, enjoy the story while we deal with this.

Chapter 3: Cultivating Tip 3: Creating Love Between Two Worlds

(Mikage Shrine)

Nanami was in the Cherry Blossom Trees of the shrine by doing both [White Talisman Proficiency], by trying to make the blossoms bloom, which a few are, and having a sparring match with Parvati to get [Swordsman Ship].

"Thank you again for helping me with thi, Parvati," Nanami thanked the forren Goddess. "I might be the Match Making Goddess in training, but I do need to protect myself?"

"Like what Beelzebub said, there will be a lot of bad people you will encounter later. We aren't always gonna be here for you, Nanami. As much as I hate it, it's for your safety. Do you remember how close you were to death when Kurama almost ate you alive?"

Nanami sweatdropped. "How could I forget… That's not to mention when we went to get Tomoe…" She shivered at the three Yokai that wanted to eat her then the hag that tried to trick her. She took a breath, and got into a fighting stance, mostly a Kendo stance. "Shall we start, Sensei?"

"Oh unfortunately I'm not going to be the one who's training you Nanami." Parvati informed the goddess in training, making her facevault, anime style.

"Then who will be?" Nanami asked, getting back up.

BAM!

"Waahh!" Nanami jumped all of a sudden when a sudden explosion happened near them, causing her to shift her attention to the place where she heard the explosion. When she did, she saw Beelzebub on the ground, covered with black marks, smoke rose from his figure.

He coughed up some smoke from his mouth, trying to look presentable. "Cough! Cough! Cough! Pardon me."

"What the hell happened to you Beelzebub?"

"I was dealing with an intruding demon who attempted to cross through the mortal realm. I managed to prevent his coming….. though I did catch it in a bad time."

BAM!

A soap hit him on the back of his head, Tomoe did not have any clothes, save for a towel that was tied around his waist.

"LEARN TO RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE'S PRIVACY YOU IDIOT BEFORE YOU BARGE INTO SOMEONE'S BATHROOM!"

Nanami looked at Parvati, a deadpan look on her face. She asked the goddess, hoping to change her mind, "... Is it too late to train with you still…? I don't feel safe training/fighting him… I feel like he doesn't know the meaning of 'restraint'."

"... In hindsight, this might have been a bad idea…" Parvati agreed.

"Weren't you the one who asked me to train Nanami in the first place?" Beelzebub asked Parvati.

"I was, but now I'm reminded why Nanami has the right to be worried," Parvati countered. "You do not know how to restrain yourself."

"I'm not that-" Beelzebub stated, but stopped when the two gave him unamused looks.

"May I remind you that you went overboard melanin ago, and fought Lucifer to take control of Hell," Parvati reminded him.

"And the cure sword that you wanted to give me," Nanami added, reminding him for the umpteenth time.

He just grumbled at the reminders. "But I will give you the chance to prove you can hold back and not kill the girl," Parvati tol him. She handed him a bamboo train sword. "If you can train her without hurting her severely, I'll let you train her more."

"I wasn't planning on killing her, I'm just gonna teach her the basics, understand part of Kendo and when she's finished, she'll manage to grasp some bits of swordsmanship."

"..."

"... Welp. You heard what the system said, Nanami." Beelzebub said to the girl who had a deathly aura surrounding him.

Nanami sweats in fear while sweat goes down from her forehead. "A-Ah come on! D-Don't you know the meaning of restraint?"

"Don't blame me, I'm just doing my part as the system orders me and I have no reason to refuse." Beelzebub raised his bamboo sword up in the air while building up his energy.

"YOU'RE JUST USING THAT AS AN EXCUSE!" Nanami shouted back at him.

He gave a cheshire grin. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Now, prepare yourself!"

BAM!

"WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Nanami shrieked in fear while a huge dust cloud covered her entire figure, flying away from Beelzebub's attack.

"THIS IS NOT RESTRAINED, BEELZEBUB!" Parvati shouted at him. She got a message as a blue screen appeared in her face.

[Survive whatever Beelzebub has to give in his training, no restriction required.]

Parvati's eye twitches. "I thought you were protecting her, Gaia!?" she shouted in anger.

[Tough love.]

"DO NOT THINK YOU CAN HIDE OR RUN AWAY FROM ME NANAMI! IF YOU WANT TO GET STRONG! THEN FACE ME!"

"LIKE HELL I WILL YOU PHYCOTIC FLY! I'M NOT WILLING TO DIE BY YOU! YOU'RE CRAZY!"

Parvati sighs. "... I now know why Nanami doesn't want to be around Beelzebub now…" she groaned out, massaging her temples.

Nanami was trying to dodge more of Beelzebub's attacks, but knew she would tire out eventually if this kept up. She then saw a way to make an opening. She put her back to one of the trees around them, and Beelzebub lunged at her. She ducked under it and made him get his sword stuck in the tree. She then brought her blade to his neck, huffing from the 'training'. "Point." she stated, smiling that her plan worked. "Use my opponent's power against them."

BAM!

-10 HP

Unfortunately she was hit on the head hard, enough to cause her to descend to the ground with a big red bump on her forehead when Beelzebub plainly looked at her. "Point, for letting your guard down."

She glared at him. "I did not! How did you move that fast!? I didn't even see you move!" She went to cut between his legs in anger, he might not lose them, but it would be cathartic for her.

"First rule about combat, all opponents will always have their specialty when in combat or at the battlefield, as for how. I'm just very fast."

BAM!

"OW!" Nanami shouted in pain while rubbing her bottom before looking angrily at Beelzebub who isn't there anymore.

BAM!

She then saw that a mace was planted in his face, courtesy of Parvaty, who was not pleased in the slightest at what Beelzebub did.

"THAT WAS GOING TO FAR!" She roared at the fly. "YOU DO NOT TOUCH A WOMAN'S BEHIND!"

BAM!

"GAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhh!"

Beelzebub uppercut Parvati while she was slowly leaving their sight before she was no longer in their view. "I'm an advocate of gender equality. I'm afraid to use these hands to hit a woman, I won't even hesitate to dropkick a woman." He said while flexing his hand.

He was then chokehold by an angered Parvati who appeared in a flash. "That I do not mind, but there are parts of a woman that are off limits. Like her chest and ass!"

"Why don't you just take a nice deep-" Beelzebub grabbed Parvati from behind him before he jumped, spinning in a circle.

BAM!

Before slamming her head on a rock that was conveniently there. "Sleep."

{Ding! Ding! Knockout!}

Dark looked curious. "Huh? Where the hell did that come from?"

"The heck if I know? I have a hard enough time with Fourth Wall Breaking worlds like this." Light/Xara stated, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Don't look at me, I got nothing to do with this. Just continue the story while I try to solve this issue alright?"

"... I feel like you'll make things worse…" the Angle/Nobody stated flatly.

"Oh shut up!"

Parvati was knocked out cold by Beelzebub, literally. He then felt a chill down his spine, like he angered someone.

"... I don't think her husband will not like what you did…" Nanmi stated.

"He is welcome to try. I'm not afraid of him."

Nanami just sighs. "You honestly do take things too far…" Just then a Java Sparrow that had a ceremonial hat on its head flew right up to Nanami.

"Excuse me, Goddess," the sparrow apologized. "I come to you with a message, a message very dear to Princess Himemiko. Later this evening, Himemiko of the Swamp will visit Mikage Shrine to pay her respects to you, the new Lady Goddess of the Land."

"Oh, that's today?" Nanami asked, surprised.

BAM!

"OW!"

"Focus, do not let any distraction distract you. Your opponent will use that last second of distraction as its advantage."

"Hey! This was important! I just got my first meeting to do my first task as a Land Goddess!"

"I didn't hear the system say stop, so until then, you must practice until it deems that you have completed the quest."

"Oh come on, that's just not fair!"

"Don't look at me. Tell that to your [Gamer] system."

"Well I think we've done enough! The last thing I need is you killing me because you couldn't control your power! I think I lost a few years off my lifespan…"

"Can't control my power?" Beelzebub raised a single eyebrow at Nanami in a bit of exaggeration before he lowered his kendo and walked to a nearby tree as he stopped in front of it for a moment, staring at the wood for a second before he spoke to Nanami. "This is me controlling my power," he said to her.

BAM!

CCCRRRAAAANNNK!

THUD!

In a single instant, a tree was cut off. Nananmi could not see it due to Beelzebub doing it so fast it was like it was already being cut down in an instant.

Beelzebub then raised his kendo up in the air. "Now this is me without any restraint over my powers."

BAM!

WHOOSH!

When he swiped his kendo stick down, a massive shockwave appeared, around where Beelzebub was as it continues to emit breezing shockwaves, causing Nanami's hair to flutter and making the sparrow flew away from the massive shockwave as it screams out in distress. When the smoke cleared down, Nanami became so shocked and a bit terrified at the sight of what just happened.

Nearly about 23% of the forest has been destroyed by a single wave Beelzebub puts into his power.

He was then hit in the back of the head by a geta sandal, due to Tomoe who looked livid at the mess Beelzebub made. "You damn burt! What are you trying to do, destroy the whole temple and grounds!?"

"I was just showing her what I can do," he said, looking nonchalant.

Tomoe's eye started to twitch in irritation. "And you couldn't have done it another way…?"

"There was no other way."

"You could have shown her in a different location, you moron!"

BAM!

Tomoe was buried underground with his lower body sticking out of the dirt while his sounds of groaning can be heard inside the dirt as his feets twitch.

He got himself out of the ground, even more pissed off. "Will you stop that!? You are a guest here and you need to show respect!"

"I am showing my respect."

"How?"

"Like this." Beelzebub lifted his finger before fli-(BEEP): Warning! Foul language detected and inappropriate gesture! Excuse this sudden intrusion. We will return to the show now, thank you for your patience.

"Oh you did not just flip the bird on me you mother-(BEEP)!" Tomoe jumped at the fly, anger on his face.

Parvati started to wake up from all the yelling, groaning in pain. When she did, she saw a dustball brawl between Beelzebub and Tomoe as it lasted for a second before Beelzebub was standing above him while having his cane at his head, preventing any movement. Tomoe used a leaf to transform his cane into a he clenched onto the snake, as it hisses in pain before turning it back to a cane. But Tomoe was able to move out of the way while it was a snake.

"You know, you're really starting to get on everyone's nerves thinking you can do whatever the hell you want, because you're a damn cardenal demon," Tomoe stated, irritation in his voice, and tapping Beelzebub on the chest with his finger in anger. "I'm surprised your daughter turned out as well as she did with your attitude."

Beelzebu was not fazed by that comment. "Was that supposed to be an insult? I find it rather pleasant however."

"No, I'm saying you're a narcissistic ingrate that doesn't care for the safety of the goddess he's training or her land she rules over," Tomoe stated, getting irritated at his blasé attitude.

"Is that the best you come up with Fox? And just to be certain Parvati asked me for training, to help Nanami grow and the system itself created a quest for her that allows me to not hold back."

Tomoe was starting to get frustrated. "You're an idiot. Did you forget how weak she is and how powerful you are? Your 'weakest' strike would still kill Lady Nanami, I heard her skull break and fix itself when you hit her. And she only recovered thanks to her broken skill."

"I am only doing what Gaia asked me to. Take a look."

SNAP!

In front of Tomoe was a blue screen, he read the following quest in which Beelzebub spoke the truth. He read a certain part about no restraint, making the demon lord's word come true about Gaia asking him to train Nanami.

"And the trophy for worst mother of the year goes to Gaia," Tomoe stated, after reading the box

KABOOM

Unfortainly, he was hit by a bolt of lightning. Tomoe's eye twitched. "If you can't take criticism, Gaia, you are more of a sore goddess then I thought."

KABOOM

Lightning struck him again, this time with more intention that caused Tomoe to lie on the ground, scorched almost completely black while bolts of lightning danced around him while his leg twitches.

Beelzebub squats down at him while poking him with a stick. "You think he's dead?" Beelzebub asked Nanami.

Tomoe groaned. "Gaia…" he groaned. "Is a sore goddess…" He then fainted.

(With Gaia, Mikaga and Sun)

"He does have a point," Sun said. "You made it look like the beginning character is facing the final boss at the start. I thought you cared for the girl?"

"Oh I care for my daughter, Monkey Boy. But it's called tough love for Nanami. She needs to be strong in the near future because you and I know that in this world, any beings can wipe her out with just a single snap of their fingers, and I'm not talking about chief gods. I'm talking about primordial beings."

"While that might be true, you shouldn't rush her,": Mikage stated. "Remember your last champion that wanted to speed run getting stronger? I think their pieces are still being recovered. You know as much as I do, each [Gamer] is different and grows in different ways. Let Nanami find her own way to grow~"

"Do I need to remind you the last time I tried to do that, one of my children basically got manipulated and turned my daughter into nothing but a mindless soldier."

"That was one world, most of the worlds you give your power to seem to do fine working on their strengths." Sun stated, hanging upside down on a branch. "And before you say anything, your first chosen user became powerful by doing his own thing. … Or are you so attracted to Nanami that you're becoming a helicopter mom to her~?" He added that last part as a tease, making Gaia blush red in embarrassment. A tricky monkey he maybe, he is able to be sharp when he wants to be.

BONK!

"OW!" Sun Wukong shouted/cried in pain when Gaia hit him on the head with her fist, causing a red bump above his head.

"Shut your damn mouth Monkey or else I'm gonna tear your tail off from your body and make it into a new a-(BEEP)!"

Dark shivered at what Gaia was saying. "Goddamnit this isn't supposed to have so much profanity! It's supposed to be rated teen, not M for Mature."

"I swear it's your influence, this is supposed to be a Romantic Comedy Univers…" Light/Xara stated. "As Tulio once said; 'I blame you'…"

Dark gave him a flat look. "Don't look at me! I have nothing to do with this!"

"You're literally the Writer of Darkness, Darklord…"

"Just because my name is Darklord doesn't mean I'm literally the embodiment of darkness, I'm the embodiment of the abyss itself."

Light/Xara gave him a deadpan. "You do know the saying about looking into the abyss and it causing madness and whatnot, right…?"

Sun took a step back from Gaia. "Geez Gaia, you don't have to throw a hissy fit just because you're going Overprotective Mother Mode for one of your champions."

"I AM NOT GOING OVERPROTECTIVE MOTHER MODE!" she roared back.

Mikage sweats in fear while putting his hands up in surrendering motion, stepping back at Gaia and avoiding her wrath.

"Gaia look! Nanamik is about to be impaled from behind!" Sun shouted in worry, pointing behind her.

"What!?" Gaia shouted, turning around in worry to see if Nanami was hurt… and realized she had been had, seeing her Nanami was just fine.

Sun had a wide smile. "So…~? What were you saying about not being an overprotective mother~?" he asked her. "Because that reaction says you are~"

BAM!

"OH AH!" Sun Wukong shrieked out like a monkey, avoiding a powerful blast that came from Gaia as if he was hit by the energy blast, it would've turned him into smithereens. Even though he would regenerate from it, it was something he rather not like to experience. "HEY! WILL YOU STOP ATTACKING ME WHEN YOU GET EMBARRASSED OR ANGRY!? YOU'RE ACTING LIKE STARTING SAKURA FROM NARUTO!"

Sun Wukong was eventually pulled back by Mikage, helping him avoid a terrifying blast that almost hit him if the marriage ("Matchmaking.") god hadn't pulled him back in time. Mikage pulled Sun Wukong close while having a nervous expression. "Dude chill man! If you continue to make Gaia mad, who knows what would happen to you if she caught her hands on you. Trust me, I've known and seen what women can do if you continue to make them mad." Mikage said, shivering at the thought while remembering the many traumatizing events he had seen before when he used to be a marriage ("Matchmaking, please get it right…") god. "You do not want to mess with a woman, especially Gaia."

Sun huffed, crossing his arms. "Not my fault she can't take criti-"

SLAP!

Mikage slapped his hand on Sun Wukong while pointing at the fiery green aura Gaia was surrounded with. "Zip it dude! You're gonna get us killed before you say anything that we both regret!"

Sun grumbled, hating that he has to comply. "Fine… I don't have to like it though…" he thought to himself. 'Those two don't know how to have fun or take a joke…'

Gaia groaned. "How does Budha handle you…?" Gaia groaned, feeling a migraine coming on.

"Well he did trap me in a mountain for 500 years," Sun stated. He then pouted and muttered, "Can't believe I got played like that… I'm the one who plays people…"

"And weren't you the one who ate the whole of the eternal peach orchard…?" Gaia lampshaded.

"Anyway." Mikage interjected on their conversation. "Gaia, I know you want Nanami to become a strong goddess but like what Sun Wukong said, that's pushing it too far. I hate to say this but she will die more sooner in the future if you continue to allow-"

BOOM!

"WAAAAAHHHHH!"

They shifted their attention at the screaming goddess in training as an enormous smoke cloud appeared above them. Mikage closed his eyes, making it a thin line before speaking. "You… get where I'm saying, do you? … Plus I don't want my shrine and land around it to be demolished... that'll lose me my power and Nanami's, since our power is connected to said land…"

Gaia looked away, blushing. "... I… may have gone overboard… But she's my first daughter in a long time… I want to give her the best…"

"At least let her get to Level… 10 I say," Sun added. "She's still 5."

"And there might be a Dungeon in my shrine as well," Mikage added. "I thought you were adding that to it?"

"... I'll give her 10 more minutes, 15 at most, then she can stop training with him, okay?" she asked the two.

Sun shrugged. "Sure, sounds good to me."

"... I just hope my shrine will be fine… We should have taught her the [Create Dungeon] or whatever that skill is called…" Mikage whined. "That way my poor home isn't a battle ground…"

"Highsight is 20/20 mate," Sun stated, shrugging.

(Mikage Shrine)

We came back to the battlegrou- I mean training ground, and Nanami was looking worse for wear. Not to say how the field was looking…

Nanami was panting hard from everything. "I think… I'm going to… die…" she looked and saw her HP was half of what it was. She could feel her body was patching up, she guessed it was her [Gamer's Body], but she still could feel where all the bruises were. Tomoe could't help either cause he became interested with Nanami's training, so he observes her skills and lets Beelzebub do his thing.

"Just so you know, I will want you to fix the shrine," Tomoe stated. "Lady Nanami's powers do come from the land and the shrine."

"Why does my life have to be so chaotic…?" Nanami asked, tears falling down her face like rivers.

"The moment you were picked to inherit a god's position." Beelzebub answered.

"THAT WAS A RHETORICAL QUESTION!" she shouted at the fly. She then groaned in pain. She heard something munching near her, Nanami turned her head and saw that Tomoe was eating popcorn with a popcorn bowl in his hand. Nanami stared at the fox yokai for a second before she simply said. "You're enjoying this aren't you Tomoe?" she asked him.

"I will admit, besides the shine property being blown up, I am enjoying the show," he answered. He then pointed to her left. "Also, on your left."

"On my-?" she started, then dodged another attack from Beelzebub from said side, bending backwards. She used the momentum and kicked the sword from his hands, backflipped back a few feet. "... I didn't know I could do that…"

Beelzebub caught the sword when it fell back down. "Your body is adapting, working to improve you each second, thanks to Gaia's gift."

"Wow that's cool, but also I almost died from that, you idiot!"

"When this is all over, you'll see that your stats and Skills will have improved, and might have gained a new skill or two from this, not counting the one you will get from the Quest ending."

"... I really hate my life."

"Would you rather fight me and live or fight a yokai and die?" he asked her, raising an eyebrow.

"... Is that a trick question…?" she asked him, deadpanning.

"No."

"... I'm not going to answer that then…" She then dodged again from his attacks. NAnami starts to cry again in fear, frustration, and a bit of sadness. "I want my normal life back…"

"Sorry, once you look into the abuse, it looks back at you and can never return to normalcy," Beelzebub stated bluntly.

"That wasn't supposed to be harsh you know?"

"I'm a demon, I see things differently, and punish sinners for those dark truths. Right now, your sin is Envy for wanting to shut your eyes and wanting a normal life again like every other human and wanting to be noticed by others."

Nanami slumped after hearing that. She wasn't envious of others… was she? "... I… I just want to be like every other girl in highschool… Is that so wrong….? And…. I'm scared… scared of losing who I am when I become a goddess fully… I don't want to lose what makes me, me…" She blocked another attack, being pushed back. Tears were in her eyes, but a fire of determination was now burning in them as well. "I was given this power not of my own volition, and I don't know if I'll be good enough to be what those three see in me… I'm… just a normal girl that just stumbled on them by chance… I feel like they'd choose anyone if they saw them fit…"

"But they chose you, they saw something in you that others look past," Beelzebub stated, still pushing her. "What that is, you have to figure it out. Now your next sin, Wrath. You get angry at others when they do something that offends you. You're angry at your father for what he did to not only you, but to your mothers, and his habits that led up to this. You're angry at the three that dumped this all on you; becoming a goddess in training, the debt to the shrine, and taking away your normalcy."

"I sometimes wonder if you're really good at reading people's sin despite being a demon fly." Tomoe said while munching on his popcorn.

"Don't be so coy, I'm going to be doing this to you next," he stated, making Tomoe choke on his popcorn.

Nanami stiffened. "... I… I was taught by mom that men are nothing but conniving beastys that'll do whatever if you give them the chance… Dad kept taking money, even though mom was sick and needed treatment, but all he cared about was his gambling addiction…" Nanami was shaking, trying not to get angry. "After mom died, I had to do the same, but he would find my money somehow and use it, causing me to go weeks by just eating white rice… And then he got my home repossessed. Then those three just appear and force me to take on a role I had no say in the matter, not even knowing about it… WHY WOULDN'T I BE ANGRY!?" Nanami roared that last part out, tears in her eyes, swinging her sword at Beelzebub.

BAM!

CRACK!

Nanami heard her Kendo stick hitting the demon lord which earned her a point, however to her confusion she heard some bones crack. Causing her to become surprised and a bit confused since she didn't felt any part of her bones crack.

"T-That wasn't me… then who-?" She looked to see who was hurt.

"Ohhhh. Looks like you overdid it a little, Nanami." Tomoe said to Nanami while wincing at the sight.

When Nanami looked at what happened, to her shock and horror, Beelzebub's head was literally twisted backwards. Nanami widened her eyes in horror.

Beelzebub grabbed his head, and twisted it back, popping it back in place and getting the stiffness out. "Okay, I will admit, I did push you on that one a bit much…" he stated, rubbing his neck and popping a few more times to make sure everything was readjusted. "But sometimes you need to let it all out to feel better."

"I… You… HOW ARE YOU ALIVE!? I TWISTED YOUR NECK!" Nanami shouted in horror.

"... Do you really think that would have killed a demon lord…?" he asked her in a flat tone.

"Didn't that even hurt at all…?" Nanami asked, her [Gamer's Mind] helping her calm back down again.

"No. It's perfectly fine." Beelzebub said to her while putting his head and twisted it again. He puts up a thumbs up. "See?"

BAM!

Nanami fainted after Beelzebub twisted his head again and saw how he could still walk or even still live after breaking his neck.

Tomoe deadpanned at the lord of flies while putting away his popcorn. "I think you traumatized the girl you damn fly. This isn't halloween."

"[Gamer's Mind] will help her out," he told him, fixing his neck. "I wasn't scaring her, I just showed her that it doesn't kill me that easily."

"Still… I think she almost had a heart attack from your stunt…" he stated flatly.

Beelzebub walked towards Nanami and placed his head over her chest, he could hear her heart still beating before lifting his head. "Nope, she's still breathing."

"I said 'almost' you idiot…" Tomoe said, his eye twitching.

Parvati finally got up, groaning. "What happened…?" She saw Nanami was on the ground. "Nanami!?" She turned and glared at Beelzebub. "What the hell did you do…!?"

"Nothing. I just showed her that nothings wrong with me."

CRACK!

"See?"

BAM!

Now it was Parvati's turn to faint as well when Beelzebub twisted his neck again.

Tomoe's eye twitched harder, his smile strained. "Oh great, now you traumatized her too. Will you stop doing that…!? I don't care if you can survive that, you might cause something to not fix right…!? Demon Lord or not…"

"What? I was just showing her what just happened."

Tomoe facepalmed. "You are a complete and utter moron and have no social understanding at all…" He slides his hand down and looks at the two fainted figures. "Let's just take them back inside. I think training is over…"

"She did last fifteen minutes against me," Beelzebub started. "That is impressive."

"Well you almost killed her for one."

"She'll live…" he said, uncaringly.

"... One of these days I'm going to make a talisman that WILL hurt you…" Tomoe stated, flatly.

"I'd like to see you try fox."

(A few minutes later: Inside the shrine)

Nanami was starting to stir and get up. "What happened…?"

"Oh good, you're awake." Tomoe stated.

"T-Tomoe? I-is that you?"

"Of course it's me. Who else you idiot girl?" Tomoe retorted back at Nanami while pointing his fan at her. "All those hard hits you've endured from that fly must've turned your brain to mush, I won't be surprised if you become stupid."

He was then hit upside the head by a slipper. "Geez, and here I was, thinking you cared…"

"Be kind to her, Tomoe, even I was freaked out by Beelzebub's action…" Parvayti stated, groaning. "I have him fixing everything as punishment, and without his powers."

"That's barely a punishment for the fly. I'd say we crucify him, hand him at the stake and lit him on fire while we watch him burn! Hehehehehe!" Tomoe gain an evil laugh while imagining the scenario of the comical chibi stoic Beelzebub as he was tied at the stake while chibi Tomoe was laughing and dancing around him.

Parvati then hit Tomoe over the head with a mace. "You're just as bad as he is, you two are so alike, that's why you two but heads so much."

Tomoe was rubbing a red bump on his head, grumbling…

Nanami sighs and looks to see what she got after her 'training'.

[454,500 yen donated! Thank you so much for generously donating this much money.

Remaining debt: 399,505,500 Yen]

Nanami groaned, slumping her head. "I hope those hats help us out a bit more… I barely made a dent in the debt I have… Stupid Flaw, making me not have that full amount from my Quest and fight Beelzebub…"

Tomoe raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean, Lady Nanami?"

"It seems I gain money from doing Quests and Beating/Surviving Enemies, as well as EXP, but due to us having that damn debt, I have a flaw that makes gathering that money a pain, I lose 10% of those money drops… But this is more money than I've had in a long time…" she pulls out the remaining 454,5000 Yen. "This is half from my Quest and Surviving Beelzebub. For the other half….it was disturbed into my debt. At this rate I wouldn't have that much money by then. Stupid tax debt. Just how did your god-" she pointed at Tomoe. "-get into this massive pile of debt in the first place?"

"I will admit I have no idea in regards to that as well." Tomoe answered Nanami's Quetion. "Lord Mikage did hire a tax payer in the past but apparently, he isn't very good at keeping track of taxes." Tomoe narrowed his eyes before putting the fan over his mouth. "Seems off I'm gonna need to pay a visit to her when I get the chance."

"Can you please not hurt her so much just beca-'

"400,000,000 million yen that wasn't paid over the last twenty years, the shrine is at risk of becoming bankrupt and the government will take away our shrine due to how much taxes the tax did not correctly either do or took advantage of Mikage's trust."

"... On second thought just go easy on her."

"Well that will have to wait until after our meeting with Princess Himemiko today," Parvati stated, holing the bird thaty came earlier.

"Oh, that's right, Princess Himemiko," Nanmami remebered. "... Who is she by the way?"

"Ah, that's right, Princess Himemiko is scheduled to be here today," Tomoe stated. "She was originally a catfish spirit, she is the goddess of Isara Swamp."

"A catfish spirit?" Nanami asked, surprised.

"Isara Swamp is under Mikage's protection," Tomoe informed the two girls. "Thus it is only natural that Himemiko would want to meet a new land god like yourself."

"Then we'll need to make Nanami presentable for her then," Parvati stated, lettering the Java Sparrow on her shoulder.

"I guess that's true," Nanami agreed. "I am a bit nervous about a formal meeting though."

"What is this nonsense you two are talking about?" Tomoe asked the two.

"What, she needs to be there to greet our guest."

"None of you will be making an appearance," he stated, sternly. "You three's incompetents are the last thing we need for this occasion…" he stated blandly. "You three will stay in Lady Nanami's room for the night and not step foot out of it until they leave."

"What?!"

"Why?"

"Do I need to spew it out to you two women?" Tomoe replied to the two women while having a tick mark above his head.

"Nanami is the Goddess of the Shrine, it would look like she's disrespecting the guests," Parvati stated. "And you're not the picture of formality at times yourself…"

Tomoe sighs in exhaustion, lowering his head in both difficulty and annoyance while trying to come up with how to explain it to the two women. "I think it would be best for that damn fly to explain it more properly."

"I'm already here."

"Oh good. Now can you explain it to… wait hold on a minute." When Tomoe was about to say something, he suddenly realized that Beelzebub was right next to him. Causing him to jump in surprise while putting his arms and hands up in shock while having a shocked/surprised expression on his face. "How the hell did you get here so fast?!"

"I walked."

"Bu-(BEEP)! You were in the mountains which should've taken you a whole 2 hours to get here! Not to mention all the fixing you had to do!"

"In terms of what the fox was saying-"

"DON'T IGNORE ME YOU BA(BEEP)!"

"-it's simply what both mortal and divine beings call political advantage. As you know, the supernatural works similar in some concepts of politics, a game of chess which Gods and other beings play in. If anyone were to know about a weakness or something that happened, they will use it to exploit their opponents in a game of politics. If the beings here, in Japan has heard the Mikage has given his position to a weak mortal-"

"HEY!" Nanami shouted, indigent at the remark.

"-you and is currently stuck in a debt that would take years to pay off. Some gods will manipulate it, take this advantage over your moment of weakness. Let's say this, think of the gods as loan sharks and think of the culprits, imagine yourself as your father. If any gods were to offer their support for you, giving their money to you. You're not paying off your debt, you simply moved your debt to them." Beelzebub hardened his expression. "They will have their hands over you, their strings attached to you. The world of politics is a deadly game to both the mortals and the supernatural beings. Do you understand what I'm saying Nanami?"

Nanami pouted. "I still think I should show up… But I get it… But I do want to be presentable in case things change. … I've… always wanted to try a yukata…"

"My final answer is no Nanami." Tomoe strongly said to the training goddess. "Like what Beelzebub said, if people knew about this. Our reputation will be tarnished, all the hard work Mikage and I have spent years gaining will go down the drain. So you will have to sit this one out until I say so."

"And how am I supposed to learn to learn to be a goddess, if I'm stuck in the back doing nothing?" she asked, irritated. "I may not have been given a choice in becoming a goddess, but I will take responsibility I have been given."

"No, means no, that is the last of it, now all three of you get to Nanami's room," Tomoe ordered. "I have work to do."

Beelzebub heard three. "Wait, I'm not coming?"

Tomoe gave him a flat look. "I don't need you destroying the shine when you get mad… You're worse than those two."

"I wasn't even gonna say about me attending this meeting. It matters little to me."

"... Why do I not believe you in the slightest…?" Tomoe asked in a deadpan.

(Nanami's Room: Evening)

Nanami was having makeup put on by Parvati. "I can't believe him…" Nanami groaned. "I'm supposed to learn this stuff, and what does he do, send me to my room like I'm a kid…"

"You are a kid," Beelzebub stated dryly. "And why are you two working on Nanami's appearance, you are not going."

"Nanami wanted to dress up in a Yukata," Parvati stated. "With her father, she was never able to buy and wear one."

"And the one mom had, dad sold it before I could ever use it…" Nanami stated, looking sad.

"(BEEP)! Hello Lucifer?" Beelzebub suddenly had a phone on his hand, calling one of his associates. "Is Mammon available? I need to speak with him if you could put me through him. I have a job for him."

"... Uh… What are you doing…?" Nanami asked the fly, still sitting and letting Parvati make her look the part of her status.

"Could you patch me to him? I've got something that might require his attention, something about a certain gambling addict-"

"DON'T TRY TO KILL MY FATHER!"

BAM!

"... Ow." Beelzebub was hit on the back of his head by Parvati's Mace which Nanami somehow wielded efficiently and threw it at the lord of the fly's head. "I wasn't going to have him killed… I was going to have him have so much misery and bad luck, death would be the better option. There are fates worse than death"

"... I don't know if that's better or worse…" Nanami muttered.

"Oh it's no time to dabble into that Nanami, there's nothing to worry about." Parvati said with a smile to Nanami before she got close to Beelzebub and spoke to him. "Do you think your demons can track down that deadbeat of a father?"

"They will, the man practically smells greed all over him. That's why I needed Mammon's demon to track him down while smelling his sin of greed. The faster they find him, the more he will wish that death is his only option."

"Could you please stop trying to think of ways of making my father's life miserable?"

Parvati nodded, going back to Nanami and brushing her hair for her. "Got it. Selling off something like that that holds memories is unforgivable. And Nanami, he made your life miserable, it's only fair that he should have karma laid on him."

"Can we please not talk about my father?" she begged, wanting to change the subject.

"Fine dear," Parvati agreed. She then holds a mirror up to Nanami's face. "What do you think~?"

Nanami saw her reflection, and was in awe. Parvati turned her into a proper young lady, making her look dazzling, her hair up in a proper bun for a shrine goddess, almost like a proper goddess in training. "Is- Is this really me…?"

"Just a moment." Beelzebub interjected Nanami's stunning view, placing a necklace over her neck before walking away from her. "Now, you look like a proper woman Nanami."

Nanami brought the jeweler up to see it. "It's lovely, what is it?" she asked in awe.

"It's an uncut cobalt gem. A mineral that is very valuable among the electronic industry." he informed her.

"And lastly," Parvati said, holding out a yukata that had sakura trees and foxes printed on it with a sash that had wind patterns on it. "Your dress~"

Nanami was in awe. "It… gorgeous…"

It took them a few minutes to have Nanami in the yukata, and looked at the image of a proper shrine miko/goddess.

"You look amazing, Lady Nanami," Kotetsu stated in awe.

"Yes, you truly look the part of a goddess~" Onikiri conferred.

The two wanted to check on Nanami while Tomoe was having dinner with their guests. They thought she would have been upset, but Parvati and Beelzebuyb were doing a good job helping her.

"... Do I… really look attractive…?" Nanami asked, feeling bashful by all the compliments she had been getting.

"In human terms, yes you are."

"Yes, indeed Lady Nanami," Kotetsu agreed.

"You look absolutely gorgeous~!" Onikiri added

"Thank you…" she said, smiling. She then sighs. "Wish I could have shown it though…. Then again, if I did go out there, I'd be absolutely clueless… I don't know the first thing about being regal…"

"But that brings up a good question, can Master Tomoe handle the guests by himself?" Kotetsu asked, directing more to Onikiri, but the others heard.

"Lady Himemiko is the leader of all yokai in the swamp," Onikiri stated. "The situation could prove very challenging even for Master Tomoe."

Nanami looked at the other two. "... Do you think we should at least go check on how things are going?"

"You know what Tomoe said to you Nanami. Do you want to risk yourself from being exposed?"

Nanami thought about it.

(Main Room)

In the main room of the shrine, Tomoe and their guest were there having dinner, one was not pleased in the slightest.

"My lady did not make the trip just to sip tea," Princess Himemiko's guard and Familiar, who was dressed in samurai garbs, Aotake, stated, sounding unhappy. "For the new land god to disrespect Lady Himemiko like this is unacceptable."

"I apologize, sir," Tomoe apologized, acting pleasant in front of them. "When she is no longer under the weather we will pay the swamp a visit~"

"Rumor has it the new land god is simply a mere human girl," Aotake stated, looking threatening. "With that in mind, she must be trembling in the back, deathly afraid of Lady Himemiko."

Tomoe just drank some saki and sighed in satisfaction. It was the saki that Nanami created, and he did like how it was. He wouldn't say it out loud, but it was a unique tease and he did enjoy it. "Such is not the case," he stated after finishing his cup, "as she comes to us by Mikage's recommendation. Not only that, she is also the adopted daughter of Gaia herself, and was given cultivation by Sun Wukong to evolve into a goddess. She may be a human now, but in no way is she inferior."

"Well I heard a different story," Aotake informed him. "A yokai attacked her the other day. Terrified, she actually fled!"

Tomoe looked unamused.

Outside the hall, Nanami, Parvati, and Beelzebub were sneaking around.

"This is a bad idea…" Beelzebub whispered so only they could hear.

"We are just checking, nothing else," she whispered back. "We won't go in."

They then heard Aotake through the door. "Are you serious, thinking that such a frightened, pathetic child has business being a god?"

"And they are arguing about Nanami's qualifications as a goddess… great…" Parvati mutters.

"I told you about the politics that runs in the divine ways, have you ever listened to what I say in my lectures?"

"I have, " Nanami stated. "But it's one thing to learn, another to actually hear them happening."

"... Okay, I'll agree to that."

Back inside the main room.

"How far this shrine has fallen," Aotake mocked.

"Not so," Tomoe stated. "Lady Nanami may appear fragile, but she has a strength of character not easily found." he told him, remembering all the work Nanami did. "I have no doubt she will one day make the flowers bloom, and do amazing things~"

Outside Nanami heard, and was touched by his words.

"... I'll give him this, he knows how to be charming," Parvati muttered quietly.

WHAM!

"Argh!"

"Banish those thoughts away and keep your voice down. It's getting louder as we speak." Beelzebub said to Parvati while chopping her head.

"Oh my!" Aotake started, almost laughing. "Of all things, who knew that the stubborn fox, Tomoe, could be tamed by a little girl?"

"You surprised me, too," Tomoe stated. "Who knew that a fish out of water could have such biting charisma? Such comments do not put your princess in the best light, given that she has come to pay respects to that pathetic little girl."

Nanami and Parvati facepalmed after hearing what Tomoe said. 'That idiot…' they thought.

Aotake had his katana at Tomoe's head, angered at his words. "You hold your tongue, vermin! That girl of yours better come running out here sometime very soon or your head is going to fly… Got me?"

Tomoe just looked smug under his fan. "I think now is a good time to call an end to this occasion," he stated, sounding like he was in control of everything. He then got up. "You have quite the temper, my friend. Work on that."

Nanami took a deep breath, and made herself look calm and presentable. Parvati and Beelzebub saw this.

"Y-You're not actually planning to go in there, are you?" Parvati asked.

"I know he told me not to interfere, but I cannot allow that man to do what he pleases, and try to attack people in my home," Nanami stated, sounding serious and noble.

"And who are we to stop you, it is your choice Nanami. You decide if you want to interfere or not." Beelzebub told her.

Nanami nodded to him. "Thank you. I'm going to do what I think is right, and make you proud of the goddess I'll become." She then opened the door to the room, making everyone look at her. "Apologizes for my late arrival," she apologized formally. She would have been brash, but she was going to be proper about this. "I am Nanami Momozono, the lad goddess in training."

Tomoe was shocked, at both her actions and how she looked, he honestly thought she looked amazing. Aotake looked both shocked and confused, she looked nothing like that frail girl that was described to him. And Princess Himemiko was just the same, but was still curious.

Nanami took careful strides in, and bowed to Princess Himemiko. "I do apologize for keeping you two waiting." She then sat on one of the mats. She then looked at Aotake. "My dear sir, if it is too much to ask, can you please put your sword away?" Nanami took a deep breath. 'I'm willing to be the land god, so I'll do what I can to prove I'm good enough for everyone.'

[For being presentable and dignified

'While that is a good thing, I know Tomoe will not be happy with me doing this,' she thought to herself. 'But I am going to be someone he'll be proud of.. … Even if he's mad at me right now…'

"You fool…!" Tomoe scolded her, taking her hand. "Why did you have to come out here..? You do realize what this means for me." He then looks at her. "While you are present, it is my sworn duty to ensure your safety. But I will admit you did dress properly."

'I can tell; that even though his words are harsh, the grip on my arm shows his true kindness and willingness to protect me,' Nanami thought.

"So this is the land god!" Aotake stated, sounding arrogant and unimpressed. "She may look noble and proper, but I can tell; she is a homely little girl, just as the rumors said."

Parvati was being held back by Beelzebub. "Let me go, I'm going to teach that arrogant Yokai a lesson! I put hard work into making her look proper! And he dares say she doesn't look the part!?"

"I'm afraid not Parvati. I can't let you do that."

Aotake had a killing aura over him, ready to strike. "Now then, you need not worry about your insults as the flesh of you and that idiot fox shall atone nicely!"

"I'M GOING TO TURN THAT FISH INTO A STIR FRY!" Parvati roared in furry at the arrogance of this yokai, daring to kill Nanami in her own shrine.

Now it was harder for Beelzebub to hold back Parvati from completely obliterating the yokai. "Parvati-BAM! Ow….. Listen to me-BAM! If they lose their reputation-BAM! Then the shrine will lose its dignity. We are in thin ice right now and we can't interfere because if we do, we will cause a bigger mess-BAM!"

"Forgive me," Tomoe stated, sounding ice cold but still in his normal voice, "but that exchange is rather unacceptable. I intend to protect my lady to the death" He then brandished his claws, ready to fight. "So do not hold it against me if you die tonight!"

Nanami just groaned at the two. 'This was supposed to be a civil meeting, and these two might have just ruined it… though I do blame that Aotake fellow more…' She had looked at his head to see his stats but only got this.

Aotake

Aotake gained a tick mark on his head, angered at Tomoe's words, pointing his sword at him. "Mammal scum, you dare steal my line!?"

'Come on Nanami, think of something to stop this!' Nanami roared in her head while Princess Himemiko chopped her teeth in anger, but at what or who was yet to be determined.

Tomoe brandished his fan, ready to cast his magic. "Let me think, how shall I kill this one?"

Nanami clapped her hands trying to get the two to stop, she gave off a calm and serene aura and smile as well. "Okay boys, that is enough playing around. We are here to talk about matters with Princess Himemiko. So if you two would be generous to put your weapons away so we can continue-"

She was interrupted by Tomoe pushing her out of the way. "Get out of the way!" he ordered, trying to make her leave.

'Well so much for the diplomatic approach…' she thought to herself. She then saw another screen pop up.

'... At least something good came out of my effort…' she thought to herself.

"THOSE TWO IDIOTS ARE RUINING THIS WHOLE THING! NANAMI IS TRYING TO BE GRACIOUS AND THOSE TWO ARE THE ONES MAKING THINGS WORSE!" Parvati shouted, almost breaking free of Beelzebub.

"Just please trust her, remember the last ti-BAM!" Beelzebub was seriously wondering if this was going to be a common occurrence, and if he needed to stock up on healing potions if it was going to be.

Aotake ran at the two, then jumped in the air, sworded ready to strike the two. "Die!" he roared. He then slashed at him, but missed, and Tomoe was at the other end of the room, shocking Aotake.

"I have decided," Tomoe stated, pulling out a leaf. "You will make a splendid grilled fish."

"What?" Aotake asked, turning to face Tomoe. When he did, Tomoe sent the leaf at him, putting it directly in the middle of his forehead. Aotake was now freaking out, and then he was covered in a puff of smoke.

Nanami saw this and was shocked, Aotake was now an actual fish, flopping around on the ground.

"Cook five minutes over medium heat," Tomoe listed offed, picking up Aotake by the tail, and fox flames in his hand. He had a devilish smile on his face. "It is quite the delectable breakfast entrée." Aotake was freaking out and was trying to break free. "If I may ask… How does it feel? Being grilled alive? I am curious~"

Nanami had had enough, and was done acting civil to these two. "Tomoe…" she growled, grinding her teeth and tick marks forming over here. "YOU LET HIM GO RIGHT NOW!" she bellowed in anger. Tomoe tossed Aotake in the air, making him fall to the ground. Tomoe had a blank look on his face. "I'VE HAD IT UP TO HERE WITH YOU TWO! YOU THREATENING OUR GUEST, AND YOU DID NOT ACT PROPERLY IN SOMEONE'S HOME! YOU TWO WILL APOLOGIZE TO EACH OTHER RIGHT NOW!" Tomoe took Aotake's fin and shook it. Nanami calmed seeing this, and sounded happy. "Good, that's much better~" She then realized something. "... Hold on, you're being awfully obedient." She then asked in a deadpan "… What gives?"

"Ah, so this is 'Sacred Word Bind'," came a soft spoken voice, making Nanami, Parvati and Beelzebub look and see who spoke, "the spell that thou cast upon a familiar." It was Princess Himemiko who was talking. "Thy claim to be the land god appears to be true, Lady Nanami."

'She spoke,' Nanami though to herself, surprised.

"... Huh… I wasn't sure if she could talk…" Parvati stated, now calmed down.

Beelzebub groaned out in pain when Parvati no longer struggled or even hit him anymore as he lay down on the ground, looking already more miserable. "I told you to trust her."

Nanami then caught onto what Princess Himemiko said. "'Sacred Word Binding'?" Nanami asked, confused.

"Allow us to explain," Kotetsu started, appearing next to her. "Orders spoken by a god become sacred words that bind familiars."

"The more firmly you issue the order, the more the familiar is is compelled to obey, and they will be bound by those sacred words," Onikiri finished., popping up next to Nanami's other side.

Just then said spell appeared in front of Nanami in a text box.

'Those blasted fools!' Tomoe thought, curled up on the floor, covering his face in shame. "They were supposed to keep that a secret from her!'

Parvati's eye twitched in irritation, seeing that Tomoe was trying to keep that information away from his master. "I'm going to beat his ass for misinforming Nanami…" she grounded out, popping her knuckles.

"Parvati please don't. There's enough chaos going around and I'm still recovering, dammit, ow."

Nanami had a happy awe expression on her face, an aura of amazement surrounding her. "This might be a sweet job after all.

"Look at what you have done, she is happy!" Tomoe shouted at the two will-o-whips, pointing at Nanami in anguish, crying anime tears.

Parvati was being held back by Beelzebub again, a way too sweet smile on her face, and an aura of feminine rage and bloodlust coming off her. "I just want to have a few choice words with the fox and how he shouldn't want Nanami miserable. Please let me go, Beelzebub."

"If I do, then you will cause a bigger mess, they're in an important meeting, so please don't mess this up." He then thought to himself, sweatdropping, 'I think Gaia isn't the only one who has adopted Nanami at this point…'

"Master Familiar," Princess Himemiko called out, walking up to them and her familiar. "I apologize for Aotake's rude behavior. I have no desire to quarrel. I came to request the land god's assistance in making a match."

Tomoe's eyes narrowed hearing that. Nanami eyes widened. "Wait, making a match. Like the romantic kind?" she asked, getting Princess Himemiko to chomp her teeth in affirmative.

Parvati blinked. "... Well, I did not think Nanasmi would get her first job so soon," she said, impressed.

"I told you to trust her, now can you please remove your ax from me? I think I'll die if you don't remove it right now." Parvati looked, then 'eep'ed in surprise, seeing she did. She apologized and pulled it out, then healed him with her magic.

Tomoe stood up, holding his hand in the air. "Please share with us your story."

"We only met but one time: ten years ago at Isara Swamp," Princess Himemiko stated, remembering that night she met the boy she fell in love with, a boy that was lost and scared. "I fell in love with a human boy, Kotaro Urashima of Sarayashiki Town. " She remembered seeing the boy, and how lost and confused he was. So she went and helped and comforted the poor boy. "He was only eight years old, but he looked most adorable as he cried." Nanami had a sweatdrop at what she was hearing. "Ten human years have now passed. He must have grown into a fine young man by now. I wish to rekindle my bond with the boy I met once more. But I cannot see Kotaro as I please, for I am a yokai." She was now squeezing Aotake, who she placed on her lap since he was still a fish. "I am lost. Will Lady Nanami please help me to grant my wish?"

Parvati had a dreamy smile on her face. "Aw~ Star Crossed Lovers~ Love between a human and spirit~ So romantic~"

"Oh it is Parvati, you know what would be more romantic? Can you please get your feets off of me? You're stepping into my wounds you just made." She was sheepish and did so.

"No way," Tomoe stated bluntly, looking unhappy.

Parvati's eye twitched at his bluntness. "What…?"

Beelzebub facepalmed. "Oh what now…"

"Love between a yokai and a human is forbidden," he reminded her. "Surely you are aware of this."

Nanamik was shocked to hear that.

Parvati groaned, facepalming. "You cannot be serious… Yokai are forbidden to love humans…? That is idiotic and stupid…"

"That's the law they implanted here Parvati. Do you not ever study about their culture and their law?"

"Love is love, Gods and humans have families, so why can't spirits?" she asked him.

"If you want to know, they are in two separate worlds one is from the normal and the other is from the supernatural, one cannot get used to this new side of the world in an instant as they need time to adjust, plus with all the deadly creatures roaming around that can kill them in an instant. Yokai's rather avoid causing a lot of human casualties."

"I know…" Princess Himemiko said, sounding sad. Nanami could see the sorrow in her eyes. She loved them, no matter who they were, but was scared to try.

Parvati also saw this. "Comoe Nanami… accept her request…" she pleaded to her student.

"Perhaps may I offer some insight to your solution?" Beelzebub was suddenly at Nanami's side, he sat on his knees while standing by the goddess in training.

"Huh?" Parvati looked at Beelzebub before turning her direction where he was, she saw he wasn't there. "What the-!?"

"Hey how did you get he-"

"You are afraid of the young boy, and how he'll react, correct?"

"Huh? O-oh! Yes, yes I am."

"Then perhaps you must first test his heart and soul, to see if he truly does want to be at your side."

"That is out of the question," Tomoe stated, sternly. "Humans and Yokai cannot be together-"

"Shush fox. The adults are speaking."

"How dare you-!"

"I would still like for Lady Nanami to find him first… I have not seen him in those ten years…" Princess Himemiko reminds him, looking down.

Just then, Nanami got a Quest appear.

Nanami knew her answer, even before the Quest appeared. "I understand," she stated, getting everyone's attention. She smiled at Princess Himemiko, willing to help her. "I will do everything in my power to help you!"

"You what?" Tomoe asked in shock at Nanami's declaration.

Parvati cheered for her. "Yeah! You go Nanami!"

"In the meantime, you may enjoy yourself while you're here." Beelzebub said to the princess Himemiko.

"You cannot be on her side," Tomoe stated, looking at the fly in disbelief.

"If I may ask princess-"

"OI! DON'T IGNORE ME YOU DAMN BA(BEEP)!"

"Finding a simple person will be very hard, specifically one you call Kotaro Urashima. It will cost us a lot of funds in order to gather enough search groups to find him. And we are lacking so much money, I would be a fool for asking you this your highness but-"

"Would this suffice enough?" The Princess brought out a box from her sleeves and presented it to both Nanami and Beelzebub before she opened a tear drop blue gem. "This is a coral gem, mined from the seas, it has no value on the sea waters but I hope this will be enough to find Kotaro?" she asked him.

"H-How much would this be in Yen?" Nanami asked, a bit nervous about the answer.

Beelzebub had a calculator and a taxpayer shade on his head, calculating the amount while writing down on his paper. "Due to the gem's precious nature, that is uncut, minus the interest, weight value, gem value in dollars, converting dollars to gem, price ranges differ from the United States and Japan, add the total cost."

CHA-CHING!

"It would be….."

"Where did that desk come from and when were you all of a sudden a taxpayer?!" both Nanami and Tomoe shouted at the same time.

Beelzebub put on some glasses and examined the paper closely, he cleared his throat before he spoke the following. "It would be 2.23 million yen. In cash. Almost 3 million if we get it cut professionally."

"How much!?" Nanami asked in shock.

"I was clear what I said Nanami."

"P-Princess Himemiko, this is way to much, I cannot take this in good fai-"

Nanami was cut off by Princess Himemiko. "Like I said, this has no value to me in my swamp, and I have many more like them. So please, if you find him, I'm willing to let you keep the rest to do with as you please."

"I-"

"We accept." Beelzebub said to the princess while taking the box from her hands. "We shall fulfill your request as soon as possible, your highness."

"Wha-Beelzebub!"

"Thank you so much my lord." the swamp princess said to Beelzebub, bowing down to him in gratitude. "I will not forget this debt."

Nanami could see the happiness rolling off her, making her smile. 'She harbors an impossible love. That's why she came to a god. There's no difference between human and yokai when it comes to a girl's heart.'

Tomoe had a tick mark on his head, not happy in the slightest at the two's actions. "If you could just please listen to me-"

"I will have to take my leave then."

"Wait what?!"

Tomoe was going to snap his fan at this point. When Princess Himemiko left with her servants and her familiar, who was turned back, left, Tomoe had went to his room, and locked himself in it, irritated at the whole ordeal.

"... I think he's upset," Parvati stated.

(Next Day)

Nanami, Parvati and Beelzebub were up early, and went to Tomoe's room, seeing both Onikiri and Kotetsu over the floor door of Tomoe's room.

"Morning," Nanami greeted the two.

"A good morning to you, Lady Nanami, Lady Parvati, Lord Beelzebub," the two greeted at the same time.

"So, where is Tomoe?" Nannmi asked the two.

"Is he still sulking?" Parvati asked.

"He appears to be in a foul mood," Kotetsu answered.

"He has shut himself in his room," Onikiri added. "He has been down there ever since Princess Himemiko left."

"Master Tomoe?" Kotetsu called for the fox yokai.

"Lady Nanami, Lady Parvati, Lord Beelzebub are here to see you," Onikiri informed.

A second passed and there was no response.

"It cannot be helped," Kotetsu stated, as the two will-o-wisps looked at the three. "We shall start preparing the morning meal."

The two started to leave, Onikiri stating, "We will let you know when it is ready."

Parvati groaned. "Well he's going to be fun to be around today…" she said sarcastically.

Nanami tapered her foot on the door. "Are you still upset?" she asked. "About yesterday? I realize I may have gone against your wishes when I came out to meet Himemiko and made her that promise, as well as Beelzebub helping me out. But I… I was really happy that you came to my defense. Like I promised Parvati and Beelzebub last night, I'll work hard, until you think I'm worthy."

Parvati leaned into Beelzebub to whisper. "You think she might be falling for the fox?" she asked in a teasing voice.

"Hmmmmm, who knows."

"Do you three enjoy conversing with yourselves?" Tomoe asked the three, right behind them.

"What the!? When did you get there!?" Nanami shouted in shock, seeing him behind them. "... How much did you hear…?"

"All of you save your breath in regards to Himemiko," Tomoe stated coldly to them, making all three look at him. "I will go later and express our regrets and return the jem. You thee, just keep yourselves out of the matter. Humans and yokai are simply not meant to be together. Besides, what could you have done, Lady Nanami?"

This ticked Nanami off, and got up in his face, yelling. "I'll never know until I give it a try!"

"Do not waste your energy."

"Well, they should at least be able to fall in love!"

"Love is a human-centric emotion that brings trouble."

"And how the hell would you know that?!"

"Because humans are idiot and irrational beings."

Nanami stormed over to the door, and slammed it open. "Forget you, I'll go alone if I have to!" she shouted, she then turned to the other two deities in the room. "Beelzrbub, Parvasti, you'll help me out, right?"

"We'll be right with you Nanami." Parvati agreed, smiling and walking next to Nanammi.

"I will be with you shortly first." HBeelzebub looked at Tomoe.

BAM!

"OW!"

"Watch your words and speak wisely to your God instead of creating a conflict between a servant and a master." Beelzebub said to Tomoe as he hit him with the base of his skull cane, a massive big red bump appeared over the fox yokai's head.

Tomoe grumbled and asked the three, "Where are you going?"

"We're going into town to find Kotaro," she stated, looking at him.

Tomoe's eyes widened, and remembered the last thing Mikage said to him twenty years ago.

"I'm going into town, Tomoe. I have an important meeting with a few overseas gods. Make sure you hold down the fort until I get back, okay?"

Tomoe's eyes widened in fear, and grabbed Nanami's shoulder. "Wait!" he told her, sounding scared. "I will come too."

Nanami was surprised. "Oh? Uh, alright then." She then pointed at him and ordered. "But you could at least change out of those filthy clothes!" This shocked Tomoe. Nanami then went to get breakfast and started heading out.

"To fear that Nanami may leave and never return, just like Mikage did," he muttered to himself. "Why is such a thought even crossing my mind?" He did not think Parvati or Beelzebub would hear him, but they did.

"That's called caring," Parvati stated. "You want someone in your life."

"You know you're just too stubborn to admit it," Beelzebub added. "I can sense the pride rolling off you."

"Silence you two…!" he ordered, a tick mark on his head and growling at them.

"Can't believe that…..ass(BEEP)! Thinking that it's forbidden to love another person! Just who the (BEEP)-"

(Timeskip)

Nanami, Tomoe, Parvati and Beelzebub had made it to the city, Nanami was happy to be in civilization again.

"We're here! Bustling city life; busy streets filled with gossiping crowds~"

"You seem to be happy," Beelzebub stated, smirking at her a bit.

"Of course~ City life is the best~!" sher turned around to look at them… and saw that Tomoe and Parvati were getting a crowd, Tomoe for his ears and tail, and parvati for her blue skin.

"I suppose," Tomoe stated, sounding uninterested.

"It is different, I will say~" Parvati ssid, enjoying the scenery.

"Look mommy!" a kid called out, pointing at the two. "He's got ears and tails like a fox! And she has skin that looks like the sky!"

"Hush!" their mother scolded, coving their child.

Nanami was shocked and dragged the two away to a park that was unoccupied.

"Gah! I got used to them and how they are, I forgot that this isn't normal…" Nanami groaned. "Of course people will notice the ears, tail and skin.

"Why didn't you two hide your features?" Beelzebub asked, eye twitching at the two's idiocy.

Tomoe was already working on it, hiding his ears and tail with his powers, using a leaf. "Is this any less conspicuous?"

"That's better," Nanami stated. She then looked at Parvati. "You still need to blend in Parvati."

"Hold on a second." Beelzebub zipped to Parvati and covered the surroundings with curtains that appeared somehow.

"Hey how did the curtains appea-"

"Now hold still.

"Beelzebub what the hell are you do-!?"

BAM!

"Gah!"

BOOM

"Hey!"

VROOM!

"What the hell are you-!?"

BANG!

"OW!"

BANG!

"YEOW!"

BOOM!

"GAH!"

MEROW!

"GAH! What the claws!"

Nanami jumped into Tomoe's arms and looked scared at the scenario, her entire body shaking as hearing Parvati's scream of pain and suffering wondering if Beelzebub was doing something to her.

"Tomoe, I'm scared."

"... I'm not sure what to expect when he's done with her." Tomoe stated.

Beelzebub opened the curtains as he exited out of them. "My apologies for keeping you waiting. May I introduce to you, a completely normal person from India; Parva tia." the moment he presented, the curtains were opened when he waved his hands.

Parvati walked out, grumbling. Her skin was now a golden brown tan and her hair was brown. "I… hate you… so much right now…"

"Your husband told me ahead whenever you take human forms, your skin color is always changed into pearl white skin that attracts every man's attention, even demons as well."

"I do not."

"Do I need to remind you about how many times when you visited Hell, all the demons were swarming at you?"

"... Just demon's wanting to attack a new soul…" she said, lamely.

"No, this was due to how many times you tried to practice your human form, even Asmodeus gave up on teaching you cause you can't in his quote 'Can't keep that beauty in control girl. It's so much flowing like a waterfall it's practically impossible for a woman like her.'"

"... I should look nice in my human form for my husband…" she said, pouting, pushing her pointer fingers together.

"Anyway." He turns his attention to Nanami who was still in Tomoe's arm. "Is there a purpose that you still keep clinging onto that fox Nanami?"

Nanami looked to see she was still in Tomoe's arms, and blushed madly. She then jumped out of his arms, coughing to compose herself again. "We will never talk about this."

"I agree," Tomoe stated, unaffected by the whole thing.

Nanami pulled out a tourist's map of the city. "Okay, let's get back to business. We still have a job to do."

"And that is?" Beelzebub asked, getting a flat look from Nanami.

"Finding Kotaro for Himemiko…" she stated dryly.

"Excuse my bluntness but how are we supposed to find a boy named Kotaro who could be anywhere on the face of this Earth, it would take us years to even find that boy." Tomoe said to Nanami.

"Well, we'll just have to start look-" Nanami stopped, seeing gir;s from her school, in their uniform. "Oh crap… Those girls are from my school, it's a weekday, and if they see me, I'll be in trouble… I can't believe I forgot that…"

"I think we should get ice cream," Parvati suggested. "So we don't get spotted."

"Good idea," Nanami agreed. "And if my powers are at work, it could be like a tavern where we can get information."

"Seems someone has been studying RPG manuals," Beelzebub stated.

"Hey, I'ver been reading up on my knowledge," Nanami stated. She then looked sheepish."... I have gotten into Dungeons & Dragons…"

"And is that a bad thing? Many people plays that game, even the gods are into Dungeons and Dragons. Last I heard one of the Shinto Gods is hosting a Dungeon and Dragon tournament this week."

"... You must be joking…" Tomoe stated, giving the fly a dry look. "Why would anyone want to play that stupid make believe board game?"

"I ain't joking with you fox." Beelzebub said to Tomoe before giving him a flier which Tomoe took from Beelzebub and looked over it. Tomoe's jaw dropped. "This came by the mail when I was checking for any government mail Nanami would've received. It's not a surprise for a DnD event to be hosted."

"And I've seen you play it with Malina as well," Parvati added, making Beelzebub shift his attention to Parvati with a raised eyebrow. "She came by to ask if she could host a game with you and us to play, after she got the message about how Nanami never played an RPG due to her father."

"That would be a fruitful event." He shifts his attention to Nanami. "This could probably help you understand the logic of RPG and get a better grasp of your powers, Nanami, though be warned. You will need a guide to help you process through the DnD match."

"Oh, she also wanted to have your daughter brought as well, saying she wanted to check up on you, it has been a while since you last saw her," Parvati added, making Beelzebub eyes deadpanned.

"Oh no…" he groaned.

"What? Is the great lord of flies afraid of his own daught-?"

BAM!

Tomoe was slammed on the ground, submerged while his lower body was shown as his upper body was embellished on the ground as his legs twitched in pain.

Nanami and Parvati sighed at the two. "Boys are idiots…"

(Ice Cream Café)

"I used to come here all the time on payday," Nanami told them. "Ice Cream is the perfect after-school snack. How do you guys like it?"

"Very delicious, I always enjoy vanilla ice cream." Beelzebub said while eating his ice cream in a cup.

"It's so good~" Parvati said, squealing in delight.

"Do not forget the purpose of this trip," Tomoe scolded the three. "We are only here to find Kotaro."

"Oh, will you stop being a damn stick in the mud…?" Parvati asked him flatly.

Just then, someone noticed the four, looking shocked. "No way." It was Isobe who noticed them. "Hey Nanami. What're you doin' here?"

"Isobe!?" Nanami asked in shock. 'Oh come on! I can't catch a damn break, can I!?'

"Aren't you supposed to be sitting in class right now?" he asked her, he then glared at the three. "And who are these sketch people you're with?"

Tomoe, Parvati and Beelzebub glared at the blond teen.

Nanami didn't look at him, going back to her ice cream. "This is nothing for you to worry about, so why don't you go away?"

"Also, what was up with the other day?" he asked her, whispering in her ear, and remembering Tomoe and Parvati coming into their classroom, giving her lunch. "The whole thing was pretty fishy, but seriously." He pointed at her, having a dark pleased look on his face. "Your broke daddy running away from home; all your stuff getting tossed to the curb; you sleeping in the park? With so many rumors floating around, it's hard to tell fact from fiction."

"... I do not have to tell you anything, and what's true or false," Nanami stated, eating her ice cream.

"Ah, but I am correct, that guy's always unemployed!" Isobe stated, sounding smug. "I bet he took off in the middle of the night! I've got you completely figured out!"

Tomoe and Parvati glared at the boy while Beelzebub continued to eat his ice cream.

Tomoe grabbed Nanami by the arm. "We have to leave," he told them all.

"Yes, I believe I cannot stand this boy, he has ruined my appetite," Parvati agreed.

Beelzebub finished his ice cream. "Vanilla is always Asmodeus' favorite ice cream. I wonder how much Asmodeus will give me for a box of Vanilla ice cream. Now then." He gets up from his seat and looms over Isobe who became scared when Beelzebub towered over him with red eyes glowing. "Could you kindly please leave us, you're ruining my ice cream time boy."

"H-Hey man, I'm just messing with her-" Tomoe, who pointed a claw at his head, looked at him in annoyance.

"Do not lay a finger on her," Tomoe ordered, Isobe scared by the two men. "Have I made myself clear…?"

Isobe was scared the hell out. Nanami wasn't happy and shouted at Tomoe, right in his ear, "STOP THAT RIGHT NOW!" Tomoe was pale as a ghost, due to Nanami using [Sacred Word Binding] on him.

[[Sacred Word Binding] has leveled up] X 2

She caught him when he started to fall, and looked to Isobe. "Don't pay any attention to him," he told her, but saw that Isobe was scared stiff, and was caught by the cafe's worker.

"Are you alright sir?" he asked Isobe.

"... Not sure if Tomoe did right or wrong there…" Parvati muttered. She looked at Beelzebub. "Your thoughts?"

"Nothing too exciting, I've seen more exciting things back at hell, this is nothing compared back at home."

Tomoe was recovering from the [Sacred Word Binding], holding his head and ear. Nanami glared at Tomoe, angered at him. "What were you thinking, threatening Isobe!? You can't go around picking on every human you see!"

"Do not yell straight into my ear!" he shot back at her, irritated at the shout. "For someone barking out orders left and right, you have no idea what you are doing!"

"And they're at it again…" Parvati groaned, facepalming.

"It has already become a common occurrence, so you have to get used to it."

"I know… But I can be hopeful that they'd get along better with each other…"

"I'm doing my job!" Nanami shot back at her familiar.

"Uh, ma'am," the worker tried to stop the two, "we don't really allow fighting inside."

"Here." Beelzebub places a couple of dollars on the workers front pocket. "Pretend that this didn't happen."

Parvati bopped him on the head. "You know tips are not allowed in Japan."

"Oh, please don't you two start fighting as well…"

"I did not come all the way here to listen to you reminisce about eating ice cream!" Tomnoe shot back at Nanami. "I came to look for Kotaro Urashima!"

"That so? Then quit complaining and help me find the guy!" Nanmi shot back.

"Excuse me. You four are looking for me?" the guy asked them, pulling his glasses down a bit, getting all four's attention. "One of you said Kotoro earlier, and that's my name."

Parvati's jaw dropped. "... Okay, how lucky do we have to be to find who were are looking for on the first day of looking…?"

Beelzebub continued to stare at the boy named Kotoro for a second before giving him another tip to the boy. "This one is for all the trouble that has happened."

"You have got to be kidding me…" Tomoe muttered.

Nanami then got a box to pop up.

[Due to finding someone you were looking for in a day

Light sighed "Come on, you gotta do it."

Dark crossed his arms in an X. "Ah hell no I ain't doing it."

Light groaned. "Come on!"

Dark sighs. "Ugh! Fine, only on her third day has a god and she has already tracked down the most important target. I swear her luck is getting ridiculous."

"You should see Naruto's and Izuku's luck," Light pointed out.

Dark groaned. "Alright, you got me there. Now onto the next scene."

WHOPISH!

Dark glares. "Right after I deal with this damn tentacle demon."

Light sighs. "Why can't I work with normal writers…?"

(Timeskip: Park at Night)

Nanami had asked Kotoro to meet her at the park after work. She met him at the location where they'd meet, a park bench. "Thank you for waiting. I know asking you to meet here was a rather strange request of mine." Nanami thanked him for doing this.

"It's okay," Kotoro said.

Nanami then bowed to him. "And I also apologize for the whole fiasco at the restaurant."

Kotoro was a bit freaked out, and told her, "Don't worry, it's no big deal. Just forget about it." He looked away, and started to mess with a rubix cube. "Didn't you say there's something you wanted to talk to me about?"

Nanami sat on the bench with him. "Yes. Ten years ago, you met someone special to both you and her at Isara Swamp. Do you have any memories of her?"

"Ten years ago," he said, sounding lost. He then started to fidget with his rubix cube more, maybe using it to try and help him jog his memories. He stopped and looked gloomy. "Sorry, but I don't remember anything. And you went through so much trouble to track me down…"

Nanami patted his back. "It's okay, ten years can be a long time, and memories do tend to get mucked up so don't worry about it." Nanami assures Kotaro before she notices the Rubik Cube. "Hey, is that a puzzle cube?"

Kotoro looked up to her when she asked. "Ah, yes." he then showed her it. "I've never been good at anything in life, except for solving this thing over and over. Fidgeting around with it helps me calm down."

"Sounds like when someone chews gum, or good luck charm," Nanami stated. "I also heard that music is also a good relaxant as well." Kotoro just went back to his cube. 'Honestly I thought this conversation would get us a bit more leeway into easing him in, but I might just have to ask him directly.'

"Perhaps if I may interject." A deep gloomy voice echoed through the park, a hand was placed on Kotaro's hand before he took the rubik cube from his hand.

"Huh? Beelzebub?!"

Beelzebub stood by Kotaro and Nanami at the bench where they sat on. "You'll have to forgive her. A friend of hers named Numari has a little crush on you." He moves his hand so fast around the rubik cube that his hand looks like a blur. "She is very anxious to meet with you for sometime. As an adult, I feel it's a responsibility to fulfill anyone's wishes." In less than a second, he completed the rubik's cube.

Nanami looked a little irritated at Beelzebub for butting in, she had asked all of them to stay back at the shrine and let her handle this on her own. Though he does have some points, he did step in when she just embarrassed herself and it would make it more awkward if she tried. "Yes, as my partner here explained, my friend, Numano Himemiko, does want to meet you. She has a crush on you and wants to get to know you. We were wondering if you could meet up with her, just one time. She would be so happy."

Kotoro looked shocked. He took his cube back and looked at it, deep in thought. "... I'll… agree and meet her…" he answered.

"Thank you," Nanami thanked him. "You won't regret it."

Nanami and Beelzebub left and went to go home, they were then greeted by Onikiri and Kotetsu in the park.

"Excellent job, Lady Nanami," Kotetsu complimented her.

"You were able to secure a promise from master Kotaro," Onikiri added

Beelzebub gave the two a flat look. "What am I, chop liver…?"

"Okay, what are you two doing here as well?" Nanami asked the will-o-wisps.

"Master Tomoe and Lady Parvati made us promise to keep an eye on you," Kotetsu informed her.

"Even though Beelzebub was with you," Onikiri stated.

"Where are Tomoe and Parvati anyways?" Nanami asked them. "I would have thought they'd be with Beelzebub."

"They are busy bringing over the carriage," Onikiri answered her.

"... Carriage?" she asked, sounding confused.

Just then, what looked like darkness appeared around them, and there was a traditional Japanese carriage in front of them, with Tomoe inside it.

"It appears that you have finished conversing with Kotaro," Tomoe stated. "So let us return to the shrine."

"Whoa, what is this thing?" Nanami asked, too enthralled with the carriage to hear what Tomoe said.

"Mikage's favorite form of transportation, the Night Fog Carriage," Tomoe answered her. "It travels through the cover of darkness."

"... I'll admit, this is good transport," Beelzebub muttered. "Though that's the long name, why can't you call it something simple like Dark carriage."

"... You know that actually could be a good name." Nanami agreed.

"You do realize you're hearing this translated through your powers, and hearing what it actually means right…?" Tomoe asked the fly dryly.

"It's powered through darkness and it's a carriage."

"Alright you got a point there." Tomoe said to Beelzebub. "But can we get on with this, we still need to get back to the temple."

"Please excuse us," both Onikiri and Kotetsu excused themselves, entering the carriage.

Beelzebub just hopped in like it was nothing.

Nanami… tried to climb in, but was having trouble doing so. "... Does this thing have a ladder or something…?" Nanami asked dryly.

"Hurry up and get in," Tomoe ordered, not going to help her.

"You could help her, you know…?" Beelzebub asked dryly.

Nanami tried again, still having trouble. 'They couldn't think of having pull-out stairs…?' she asked in her head.

"Pathetic," Tomoe stated, making Nanami glare at the fox. "If you do not wish to return to the shrine, then I shall return without you."

BAM!

"OW!" Tomoe was hit and thrown off the carriage, courtesy by Beelzebub who walked towards Nanami, lowered his skeleton head cane before beckoning her to grab it.

"Grab on Nanami."

"Does she really want to come with us though?" Tomoe asked, sounding serious, making the two look at him, he got back on. "She wishes to remain, does she not? As a human being?"

NAnami's eyes widened in shock. She then threw her bag at his head, and barked. "You don't get to make that decision for me! I'm going to do what I can to be a goddess you're proud of, and not run away!" She then grabbed Beelzebub's cane and got on. "This was just to high"

"Astounding," Tomoe stated, and grabbed her other hand. "You are quite dependent."

Nanami deadpanned at him while pointing down on his feet. "You realize you just stepped on pile of dog s #!."

Tomoe looked irked. "Well you're the one who threw me at it!" he roared back at the fly. He then threw his sandals at him. "Here, eat up! You flies love this crap!"

Tsssssshhhhhh!

Unfortunately the sandals were lit on fire before turning it into piles of ashes.

Nanami just sighed at the two, as the doors closed and the carriage left to head to the temple. "Oh, Tomoe, Beelzebub, I have a favor to ask you two about Lady Himemiko." She stated as they were flying.

"What about her?" Tomoe asked.

"If you're asking her to meet us at the shrine, Parvati has that handled and she's already there with her," Beelzebub informed.

(Next Day: Mikage Shrine)

Both Nanami and Parvati were helping Himemiko look ready for her date with Kotaro. Just then, Aotake barged in, looking irritated, barking, "My dear Lady Himemiko has gone missing!" He was marching into the shrine.

"Is that a fact?" Tomoe asked, sounding uninterested.

"Do you need to be so loud at this time of day?" Beelzebub asked, with the same attitude as Tomoe.

"I have yet to see milady since that puny land god of yours summoned her!" Aotake shouted, walking up to the two. "You have better confess right now, fox, lowly demon, or else!"

Beelzebub sniffed the air dramatically. "What is that I smell? I feel some rotten fish that hasn't been tenderized for some time. Do you think it's time we should have some fish to dine, fox?"

"I do believe you are right for once, fly~ I did miss out on having some the other day~" Tomoe stated, liking Beelzebub's idea very much.

"Thou art making a racket, Aotake," the voice of Himemiko stated, making her familiar look to see her… Only to be shocked to see a short purple haired, lavender eyed human in a school uniform.

"Sorry for the delay~!" Nanami apologized, being right behind the transformed Himemiko.

"We wanted to make her look just as good as her yokai form~" Parvati added, also behind her on the opposite side.

"What on earth did they do to you!?" Aotake shouted in pure shock at her human look. He fell to the ground in shock.

"Geez, drama queen much, isn't he?" Tomoe asked Beelzebub.

"I find it amusing, very much entertaining."

"Yes, I can agree a bit on that~"

"She's just the right size for my uniform," Nanami told Tomoe and Beelzebub.

"We thought the cute school girl look would be a good way to help her out~" Parvati stated. "Just a bit of makeup, and she's adorable~"

"What do you two think, isn't she pretty?" Nanami asked the two.

"Does it truly look good?" Himemiko asked them as well.

"Yes," Tomoe answered honestly. "Dress like that, you are a very convincing human."

"Minus the fish eyes." Beelzebub pointed at his own eyes, gesturing at Himemiko.

"Hey! Who are you calling her eyes fi-"

WHOOSH!

"There, finished." In less than a second, Himemiko no longer had any fish eyes on her face and looked more like a beautiful girl, the complete opposite of what she looked like before. "First rule of disguise, always make sure you go for the eyes so people don't read or can tell if you're the same person or not."

"I did just that!" Tomoe shouted. "My disguise transformation was well made!"

"Huh, her eyes do look better," Nanamni stated. "I didn't notice it, but now I see it."

"Huh, guess the devil is in the details…" Parvati muttered.

Tomoe just grumbled.

"Does this mean I can meet with Kotaro?" Himemiko asked Tomoe and Beelzebub.

"Yes, but be careful," Tomoe warned her. "Even my transformation spell requires that you follow this very important guideline. You must never use your powers like this. Do so and you will revert back to your yokai form." Himemiko chomped her teeth, not looking happy at the limitation. "And stop doing that as well."

"I have to agree with her on this, that is a stupid limitation…" Parvati stated.

"All powers or magic always have its limitations. Nothing is truly powerful unless one uses it correctly or masters the techniques." Beelzebub informed.

"Yes, and this is a test for Himemiko, to see if she has the will not to use her magic and act like a human, well a normal human anyways," Tomoe added.

"I see," Himemiko stated, nodding.

"But, the time will come if this mortal will choose to love, even if you reveal your real form to him." Beelzebub said to Himemiko. "This is just a warning/preparation, the outcome will decide if he chooses to love you….. or not. Remember this, your majesty."

"I… understand."

"Okay, that's enough of the downer talk," Parvati stated, as she and Nanami started pushing Himemiko forward.

"Yes," Nanami agreed. "Here we go, Miss Himemiko. Kotaro can't wait to meet you."

"Oh, Nanai," Himemiko started, stopping to look at her, happiness and gratefulness coming off her. "I am grateful."

This made Nanami happy as well, glad to be helping her. Parvati nudged her playfully. "Seems you're doing great as a Land God so far, huh~?"

"Okay, remember, Kotaro will be waiting for you at the park's plaza near the west gate, at five pm," Nanami reminded her. Himemiko nodded in understanding.

(Park that evening)

Kotaro was waiting at one of the park benches, fiddling with his rubix cube in fear and nervousness. 'She's late,' he thought to himself. 'Maybe this whole thing's a prank. What are the chances of a girl having feelings for someone like me to begin with…?'

"Is that thee, Kotaro?" came the voice of Himemiko, who asked., getting said boy's attention. She then went up and grabbed his face to look at him better. "It is thee~!" she stated in joy. "Sweet Kotaro~"

Kotaro seemed to remember something when he was younger, someone that helped him and made him smile.

While the two were chatting, Nanami and the others were watching from a distance. "Isn't this wonderful?" Nanamik asked. "It's been ten years since they first met."

Tomoe looked uninterested, thinking this wouldn't last and messing with a twig. "This is nothing more than a passing infatuation between human and yokai…"

"Oh quite you," Parvati scolded. "Not everyone is a cold hearted, loveless moron like you."

"Will both of you stop being so negative?" Nanami asked them. She then turned to watch the two. "Not now, at least. She's been waiting ten years for this reunion, and it's finally happening."

"Not to put a downer, Nanami, but I think Himemiko is freaking Kotaro out a bit…" Beelzebub stated, pointing at what was going on.

"Huh?"

Himemiko was happy while Kotaro was nervous beyond doubt, Himemiko calling his name out… while laying on his back.

"... We should have taught her boundaries…" Parvati stated, with a deadpan.

The lord of flies let out a sigh"Hold on, this will take a minute. Should've expected this." Beelzebub said while raising his hand and prepared to snap his finger.

He was going to just conjure a little wind spell in order to separate the princess and Kotaro, to avoid causing a bit more collateral damage. If Nanami hadn't grabbed his hand beforehand.

"Wait! Beelzebub, look!" she said to him while pointing her finger at the two duo.

"How I long to see thee," Himemiko stated.

"Oh well, uh…" Kotaro started, before getting up and looking at her. "Would you quit leaning on me like that?"

"But why?" she asked, sounding confused.

"I've never even met you before, kay?" he told her.

"But my heart yearns to reach out to thee," she stated, looking cute.

Kotaro took his seat again, now a small blush on his face. "Being told that stuff by a stranger is kind of, well, it's confusing."

"Oh, I see…" Himemiko said, sounding a bit guilty.

Kotaro was messing with his cube again, but told her, "Don't get me wrong, I'm flattered, you know. I just don't understand why you like me."

The others heard this, and Parvati frowned. "Kid has low self-esteem," she stated bluntly.

"What do you expect? Their mortals, their emotions are a fragile thing. I can taste and smell his insecurity and envy from miles away."

"Hush you two, they're still talking," Nanami scolded them, wanting to hear more.

"What is that box?" Himemiko asked Kotaro, seeing the rubix cube.

He showed it to her. "It's a 'puzzle cube'." He told her. "Don't tell me you've never tried to solve one before?"

"Nu-uh," she answered, sounding intrigued.

"Good, good, finding common ground and interests is a good start," Parvati stated.

"True, learning about something your crush likes is a good thing," Nanami agreed.

Beelzebub spoke up. "Let's just hope she doesn't bre-" both girls cut him off by covering his mouth.

"Do not tempt fate," both girls scolded the fly.

"It's a hexahedral three-dimensional puzzle," Kotaro told Himemiko. "You keep twisting the sides until the colors match up on each face."

Himemiko looked in awe at the toy. "What a mysterious contraption."

"Nah, it's really easy once you get it," Kotoro told her, sounding excited. Just twist and take note of which color's on what face." He showed her he got the green face all filled out. "See? Green is done."

"Such swiftness and grace!" Himemiko said in awe. "Thou art truly incredible!"

Kotoro looked shocked, and was blushing deeply after hearing that compliment. "W-What to try it out?" he asked her.

"May I?" she asked.

"Go right ahead," he told her, giving it to her. "I'm gonna grab us a couple of sodas so just sit tight till I get back." Himemiko nodded and Kotaro ran off to do just that. 'What's this feeling? It's as if my heart's racing inside of me.'

"That's our Lady Nanami," Kotetsu cheered.

"Congratulations, your first job is complete!" Onikiri cheered as well.

"Bravo, milady!" the both shouted.

"Not bad there Nanami~" Parvati complemented, patting her on the back.

"Don't celebrate yet, the main event is about to come." Beelzebub spoke to the ground while pointing at the approaching Kotaro.

"Yes, you should pay attention," Tomoe agreed.

Nanami looked at Beelzebub. "What did you do?"

"Nothing. Focus Nanami, we have to see if the mortal really loves her even if she reveals her true form."

The group saw that there were two pucks crowding Himemiko, who was too busy playing with the cube.

"Wussup honey?" the first puck asked. "What's a sweet little thing like you doin' all alone out here? Why don't you come with us? We'll show you a real good time."

"Hey girl, are you even listenin' to us!?" The second one asked. He then took Kotaro's cube out of her hands. "Hey, lemme see your toy for a second."

Parvati wanted to smite these two so badly. "Beelzebub, please hold me back…" she gritted out, not wanting to interfere.

"Already on it." Beelzebub said as iron ropes were already tied around her while holding onto the iron ropes.

"Thank you."

"Give it back!" Himemiko ordered, going to grab the cube back, but she was too short to do so.

"Uh oh, I think she's gettin' angry?" the second asked mockingly.

"Urge… to punish these fools… rising…" Light grunted out.

"Easy there Light, usually I'm the one who does that," Dark stated, holding the angel back.

"I REALLY hate bullies…"

"Oh no," Nanami said in worry, now holding a branch. "We have to go help her!"

"Speak for yourself." Beelzebub said while literally holding back a furious demonic Parvati who is surrounded by heaven flames. The iron ropes were creaking due to the amount of strength the goddess is putting in. "If we get caught into this matter then all your hard work will be gone to waste, I would've dealt with this issue by myself but that would mean risking the failure of your mission Nanami."

"Yes, Beelzebub is right. Do nothing." Tomoe agreed with the Lord of Flies. "It is not your place to do their job. The responsibility to move forward lies squarely on the human. That being said, should one desire to move forward, all they may need is a little boost in the right direction. That, however, is your job. You provide them a little boost."

"Tomoe, I swear if I wasn't tied up right now I would-"

"Please no more use of foul language." Beelzebub interrupted her before she could spew out profanity. "It's enough this is an attempted romance comedy, it's supposed to be rated T for teens….. Wait, hold on a second, how do I know this?"

"LIGHT!"

"Dang it Dark! I told you your abyss powers were affecting this world!"

BONK!

"And I see him right now," Parvati stated, with a sigh, seeing Kotaro, who was standing by the side, scared.

'No,' Kotaro thought, shaking. 'What should I do? I want to… I need to help her, but- I'm so scared I can't even move my feet!' Nanami was watching, waiting for her moment to help him. 'Start moving, start moving.' "Please start moving!" he shouted, wanting to move.

Nanami, using a white talisman and sending energy through it, gave him the push he needed. "Go Forward," she said, her voice almost ethereal. "Go now."

Kotaro then ran to help Himemiko.

'I hope it reaches him,' Nanami thought, empowering her talisman. 'My boost of encouragement.' She turned to look at Tomoe, Parvati and Beelzebub, and asked, "Do you think it worked?"

"Perhaps, yes," Tomoe stated. "I did not think you would take such a literal approach but if it works then I guess it works. And from the looks of it. Whatever you did appeared to have work."

"Humans do tend to be creative~" Parvati stated, giggling. "Sometimes, the direct approach works~ Isn't that right Beelzebub… Beelzebub?" Parvati called out to the demon lord, however she didn't get a response from him after a second, causing her to look around in confusion.

"I'm right here." He called out to her, causing her to shift her attention to Beelzebub who was tied up around in an iron rope, being hanged upside down while still having a stoic expression on his face.

"How did you get there?"

"You went on a blind feminine rage that somehow caused you to untie yourself and beat the living crap out of me before tying me. I'm currently bleeding internally right now."

Nanami got a white talisman, and wrote 'Healing' on it. "Let me try to heal you." She placed it on him. It caused his chest to emit smoke as it was hurting him instead of healing him. Nanami was freaking out and tore it off him. "Sorry!"

Tomoe's eye twitched. "Okay, how the hell did she hurt you, when I couldn't?"

"Yours is barely under the levels of a divine God, Nanami has light divinity inside of her as while I have the opposite divinity than her. Plus, I'm a demon not a Yokai, I'm literally filled with demonic energy inside of me."

Nanami bowed to him. "Sorry, I didn't think about that. I just wanted to help."

"I do not blame you, just get me down here and keep me 100 feets away from that demon."

They do just that.

(Mikage Shrine: Night)

It was late when the six of them returned to the Mikage Shrine, their mission complete. Nanami even got a box that she completed the quest.

"Mission complete~!" Nanami cheered, happily.

Beelzebub hummed lightly. "Yes, and I do believe, with the success of your first job as a Land Goddess, I think you earned the right to start this." He held out the [Cultivation] skill book to her.

"She did subpar at best," Tomoe stated, huffing. "Still think it won't last."

"Oh, stop with the pessimism," Parvati griped.

"You did a wonderful job, Lady Nanami," Kotetsu complemented.

"Indeed, and it was clever how you helped Kotaro," Onikiri added.

Nanami looked at the book, gulping. This was the last thing that was keeping her from evolving into a goddess. If she took it, and started, there was no turning back, she would fully commit to becoming a goddess, and losing her human self. She looked at Beelzebub and asked, "Do you really think I'm ready?"

"You want my honest opinion? No."

This surprised Nanami. "Huh? But then why are you letting me-?"

"Let me tell you a little story about the Jade Emperor, leader of the Chinese pantheon."

Tomoe scoffed at Beelzebub. "Oh great, what's so important about this non important foreign Go-" Parvati bopped him on the head, shutting him up.

"Thank you Parvasti, now, where was I?" Beelzebub asked, trying to remember where he was. "Ah, yes. As I was saying, did you know that before he was the leader of the Chinese pantheon, before he was a deity, before he ascended as the heavenly immortal, he was a mortal like you." Beelzebub pointed at Nanami.

"H-He was?" Nanami asked, shocked. Tomoe's eyes widened as well.

"Yes, before he was the Jade emperor, he was called Yù Huáng. A simple mortal who was born from a mortal father and a mortal mother. In the past, in the Chinese regions, monsters and demons freely roamed around the world, causing chaos and mayhem throughout the mainland of China. People were not very armed or equipped with enough knowledge to even kill a simple demon or variety of monstrous beings. The Gods of the China land were not powerful enough to deal with the demons added to the fact that there were powerful demons that defied the heavens itself. It was like this for a few centuries, living under the demons' tyranny. That is until one certain event that changed the fates of the people of China. Yù Huáng."

"What did he do?"

"Yù Huáng could not stand the suffering and destruction the demons had caused to the world, so he did the one possible solution, the one thing that Gaia herself has given to Yù Huáng. Cultivation. He cultivated for many days and many nights, understanding the concept of Tao and Dharma, truth and justice, life and nature, the beginning and the end. Through his power and through his guidance, he has pushed back the demonic forces back to the underworld, restored order to the world and brought peace to the lands. Through his power and the magic of cultivation, he has ascended to, as you call him now, the Jade emperor."

"Wow, he seems like a great guy."

"But there is a reason why, I said you are not ready." Beelzebub suddenly spoke to Nanami in a hardened tone, causing her to jump back in surprise. "The path of cultivation is not an easy journey, Yù Huáng did not become the Jade Emperor today, he had years of experience, practicing cultivation and always pushing beyond his limits. When you decide to take on the path of cultivation, what lies ahead of you is a trail of mountains, a mountain without any trails or anything if you decide to walk the path. You will have to find your journey and make your own path. What really makes a God and understand the foundation of the heavens and Earth itself. So tell me this Nanami….." He leaned forward, looking deep in her eyes through his hollow demonic pupil less eyes. "Are you or are you even worthy of becoming a Goddess? Are you ready to walk the path of Cultivation itself?" He asked her in a deep hard tone.

Nanami was looking at him. "I won't lie and say I think I am… but I was chosen to be a goddess. I know that once I start this path, I'll never return to what I once was." she gripped her skert, shaking, but she glared at him in determination. "But if I'm going to be put in this job, if I'm going to become the Land Goddess of this place, I'll do it, and work hard to be a goddess that not only you five (Tomoe: "You can count me out, I don't possibly care." Parvati: "Tomoe! Be nice!") can be proud, but also Mikage, Gaia and Sun, and show that they chose right." Nanami declared while looking at everyone (As while Tomoe was on the ground with a mace that impacted on the fox Yokai, almost becoming unconscious from the mace strike).

"Even if it means by making the most difficult decision?" Beelzebub once more asked her.

"I'll make my own decisions, no matter what route I'll have to take. That's what Yù Huáng did, didn't he? He made his own decisions."

Beelzebub stared at her determined eyes for sometime less than a second before he retreats away from Nanami and slides the Cultivation book to her. "Then you are set. You have chosen your cultivation path. The path of which not many have decided, the path to heaven."

[Ding! Host has chosen the cultivation path

Now, absorb the skill book, so we may start your path.]

Nanami took a deep breath, and took the book. The screen appeared over the book again.

[This is the skill book [Cultivation]

Do you wish to learn it?]

Y/N

Nanami looked at the screen. 'This is my final step of starting my path…' Nanami thought to herself. 'Like I was told, once I start, I can not turn back and I'll start lose my human self.' She then remembered how she made Kotaro and Himemiko happy. 'But Kotaro and Lady Himemiko's bond will grow stronger day by day, and I hope it never falters. If they are willing to do the impossible, I should do it as well. And if I can teach it, I'll help Kotaro, if he wishes to be like Himemiko.' She pressed the Y and the book started to break down into motes of golden lights, and flew into her. 'I'm willing to carve my own path now.'

[A new Skill has been created.]

To Be Continued…

Seems like you have truly started her journey, Nanami.

Nanami: "I'm still unsure if I'm truly ready."

Is anyone ever truly ready for anything?

(Crash!)

Dark: Back beast! Back you disgusting monster!

(ROAR!)

Nanami: "I thought you two took care of that already!?"

I thought we did.

(BAM!)

Dark: Alright, it's contained for now.

… I think we should end this so we can make sure it's properly contained.

Nanami: "Seconded the motion."

Dark: Alright, where was I…. ah! Due to Nanami deciding to go for the path of the heaven route I decided to add in some unique features that will truly show the efforts of Nanami's incoming Journey. As this is much more a different cultivation than simply heading to the cultivation power levels. It will actually be determined by two things, Faith and Dharma.

Nanami: "Faith I get, but what is Dharma? Do you mean Drama? If so, you spelled it wrong."

Dark: It's actually more like understanding, in Hindu it is the eternal and inherent nature of reality and the nature of reality regarded as a universal truth. Both are aspects of truth or reality. Something like truly understanding of one itself, the more you understand the divinity and yourself, the more you'll discover your Dharma. Like how Gods of Righteous follow their own path because it is their nature, the Dharma they follow.

Nanami: "I see…"

Anyways, we'll get more into it in the next chapter.

Dark: Thank you all for reading our chapter! Now if you'll excuse me I have to head to my bed.

Right. We'll see you all next time.

Nanami: (Waves) "Bye~!"

Dark: Night.

See you all in the next chapter.

Please R&R.
