Their voice was modeled after a prepubescent child, and the voice, he wanted to say Generic American#221 from CainLab's Reploid Voice pack ver5 from a few years ago, but if someone built a Reploid this well, with realistic, healthy white skin that didn't show a single maintenance hatch, why would they skimp on the voice? Especially given this robot's…ughhhh…
Their bodysuit….oh good lord, that wasn't a bodysuit. If it was, and he was going to pretend that was the case for his own sanity, then it was colored the same as the synthetic flesh on the boy robot's face, a design choice that X was going to assume was made to highlight the…..unfortunate choice of 'clothing' they were wearing. "What are you wearing?!" The words left his mouth before he could even think.
This was all just so wrong. The Reploid's young appearance, androgynous design, the less than acceptable for public lower wear in the form of those black shorts, the feminine facial features, bright pink hair, and the fact their voice was made to sound as soft and innocent as possible, to go with the angelic motif of their design with the heart shaped linings on his white armor, was giving X the worst kinds of red flags, the type of red flags that ended with a lot of child abuse charges.
Thank god this boy wasn't…let's just say 'fully equipped' like the last ones. Working the streets during the pre-Sigma era showed X way too many cases like the boy in front of him.
"Why does everyone ask that?" They tilted their head, allowing X to see the Adam's Apple in their throat, confirming the Reploid's gender as his wings stood flapped to keep him afloat. "Tapirphant was really mean about it, Droitclair said I looked like pedo bait, but big sis said we can't help what we can't change." He stared at X, with not a hint of malice in his eyes. "You guys are so weird."
"I-" He shook his head. "We're getting off topic. I assume you're here to help that Maverick?" What was this kid? Sigma had no need for pedophiles, both in those that preyed on organic children, and especially those who made children to prey on. It wasn't because of any moral fiber he might have had left, so why was this a thing?!
"Yes." The winged Reploid said with a sigh. "But I just can't let you leave…that power isn't yours."
"Well, it's not going to be mine for long." Something in this kid's tone was confusing him… "I'm on a time limit. so if we could just get this over with-"
"Oh. why didn't you say so?" Huh? A smile came on the boy's face. "So that means you're going to give it back?"
"...Yes?" Well, he did have eight minutes at best before his body rejected the weapon. This thing was doing a major number on his already strained internal battery, but how did this Reploid get 'I'm giving this back' from 'I'm on a time limit?'
"That's great!" He suddenly flew to X and grabbed his hands, all while having the biggest smile on his face. "I'll go help Woodpecker, and you make sure to give it back soon, ok?"
"O-ok." X blinked as the Reploid flew down to ground level. 'I didn't even see him!' Even replaying his optical records back in slow motion didn't do anything! 'If all that wasn't an act, then I need to take advantage of it, and get out of here!' Turning on his Dash Thrusters, X zoomed away. Two outgoing teleportation signals showed that indeed, that weird boy was telling the truth….he still didn't know what to think of that, but he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
WARNING!
Turning off the klaxons, X held back a groan as a shadow appeared above him. "You've got to be kidding me…."
It took him a while to find Woodpecker through the trees, but the winged Reploid had managed to retrieve her and teleport her into the nearest repair bay. According to the Transerver Logs, the nearest one was located within Asakusa, Japan, so he dropped her off there, teleporting away
DIVE-01, ANGEPITOYEIR, LOGGING IN
And that left him to give his daily report back at base. Stepping off of the Warp Pad, Angepitoyeir was greeted with the gentle golden radiance of his home, the stained murals depicting battles long since ended, and potential battles that would be. With a smile, Angepitoyeir skipped down the hallway and into the main elevator, where a computer terminal built into the wall laid. A quick security scan and password input later, and the elevator shot up into the sky. Angepitoyeir leaned back against the elevator with a smile. "So that was my little brother." He was so simple looking. He didn't have any fancy decorations, and he didn't have Power Gem lining his body like human skin piercings. He was only around 2-3 colors and compared to everyone else, his design screamed efficiency. He couldn't wait to meet him again!
It was a shame though, that they were on opposite sides. But Angepitoyeir knew that his justice would bring their father's last creation to the side of good!
The elevator slowed down until it stopped completely. The door opened, and on the other side was a golden table in the shape of a triangle. At the end of its three points were three different sized hoverchairs, all of which were suspended over a glass floor that showed the planet Earth below. Two of the chairs were vacant, and the one that was occupied held the most important person in his life, wearing her trademark cloak around her body."Good morning, Angepitoyeir." Her kind, soft smile sent his heart aflutter, and her hair so vibrant and pink,, looked extra shiny today! He was so jealous, and she looked so happy!
"Big sis!" And she was gonna be even happier once he told her the good news!
Quickly turning around, X found himself face to undercarriage with a giant blimp, one that was making a very familiar sound. 'So that's the weather making machine.' Then the Maverick was just a signal broadcaster! Dashing ahead to get a better look, X could see that the balloon was in the shape of a woodpecker, a very cartoonish Red-Breasted Woodpecker, that reminded him of the ancient Mechaniloids of his creator's halcyon days. Its wings were at rest, and X could see two cannons at each of their bends, heavy duty hardware going by the barrel size. The googly eyed machine then focused its pupils on him, and let out a screech.
X immediately went for the cloud bank, ready to lose the Mechaniloid, only for the entire sea of white to become immediately electrified. 'Clever!' He was hearing that specific noise everywhere below! It must have sent dozens of drones out to keep the cloudbank electrified! 'Now I won't be able to escape!' And he wasn't going to risk draining the battery dry on this power by doing anything fancy!
The sounds from the drones were spreading out in all directions, just to make sure every single inch of sky was conductive.
The head of the bird continued to focus its attention on him, and X felt its gaze on his back. 'What's it doing?' It can't be leading him into a trap, right? He made sure to keep his ability to temporarily steal weapons to himself-
"Storm Tornado" With just two words, a horizontal tornado shot out of X's arm cannon and into the abandoned car 40 meters away, shredding a hole into it with the razor sharp winds it produced. 'See?'
The $ $ warrior nodded, his long blonde hair flowing in the breeze. "So it's only temporary huh?"
"Yeah." X told $ $ as he returned his hand back to normal. "I need to take their data directly from the source, their CPUs of the Mavericks, to take their weapons." He looked around nervously. "I would appreciate it if you kept this quiet, $ $. With so many of our numbers turning traitor…"
"Got it."
'What was that all about?' X put the memory away; he only had 7 minutes left, and that blimp wasn't doing anything else. Luckily for him, this weapon allowed the firing of his Buster, albeit uncharged and at half strength. But he didn't need to fight at the moment; he needed answers. He turned his Buster to the dirigible and fired, allowing a certain something to stick to the bottom of the craft. His visor came down from his helmet, and soon his mind was awash with information.

'So it doesn't have any weapons?!' As he continued to read the data the tracker was giving him. Now that he thought about it, the fact it's name didn't come with a subtitle when the klaxon blared should have told him everything about the threat level of this machine. 'So that means those drones weren't there to stop me from escaping, they're there to continue making this storm!' Was it even aware that he was here?!
Judging by the modification date on its software, that meant this thing was stolen and modified around the halfway point of the 4th war! Which made sense, the entire Repliforce incident was just a smokescreen, and Sigma had the entire world as a pantry while its eyes were on the conflict. 'If there aren't any weapons….' Then those guns on the wings were probably where the drones are stored! And if there weren't any weapons, then that means….
Grinning, X retracted his visor and paused, oriented himself in an upright position, and zoomed straight into the glass of the blimp, crashing into the control room. With a grimace, this time feeling something else in his body snap, he got back up, ignoring the fact that his vision and neck was a few degrees sideways now -Low nanomachines meant terrible shock absorption- and went to the dirigible's controls, where he found everything he needed. There was an instruction manual, likely for the Maverick he left for dead, a map of the area, and of course, the controls. 'Ok, so this is just the old model JT-X2 Hoverbase control set.' AKA what was used in Wheel Gator's dinosaur tank and subsequent gigantic fortresses. Even civilian and Maverick Hunter aircrafts used this control layout, it was that simple and efficient. And because he had such experience with this setup, he deemed it unimportant and ignored it. Instead, he focused his attention on the map, and the peculiar irregularities on display. Because unless he was reading this wrong, this entire area was above the entirety of Okinawa!
"And then they bounced, and bounced, and bounced, just like yours sis!"
"Please focus, Angepitoyeir." The pink haired woman chided. "Hanzō surrounds himself with beautiful women, that can't be denied. Buuuuut…."
Angepitoyeir blinked before his eyes flashed in recognition. "Oh, that's right!" He placed his hand on top of the table, and immediately a 3d model of a skyscraper appeared in the center. "It was right there the whole time!"
"Very good! And what are the specifications for the building?"
"Uhmm…" The angel boy's wings shivered as he pulled the information from his memory banks. "Oh yeah! They were…23 floors above ground, 3 floors below." The 3d model focused on the ground floor, and switched to a model of the first floor lobby, made from the recordings of Angepitoyeir's optical recordings. "And the best part? The scroll's hidden in plain sight! right underneath the entrance!" A red icon pointed to the front, right underneath the entrance's automatic doors.
"I see." Her own sensors were detecting six different energy sources, however. Any one of them could be the scroll in the minds of an organic, but Eratoeir was not an organic, despite everything about her external frame saying otherwise. Yes, unlike their sister, her and Angepitoyeir were 'cursed' by their designers, to be a mix of religious iconography, more so in the case of her little brother, and for herself…this fuschia pink cloak around her body wasn't there because she liked wearing it. Once a Reploid's source code was tampered with, it was really hard to reverse it, and the men who built their physical bodies made sure it was, to put it in her sister Droitclair's words, a 'bitch and a half' to remove, completely not worth the effort. . "Angepitoyeir, pull up the lifeform counter."
"Ok." Oh boy, where was that file at? "Give me a second, I don't remember where it is."
Eratoeir sighed. "It should be on your Desktop, sweetie. We've been over this." Angepitoyeir blushed as he found the associated file and loaded it into the model, where suddenly half the floors were lit up in red. "Amazing. These Shinobi are truly mysterious beings." The poor boy probably wouldn't even have realized the danger he was in if she didn't keep his Threat Detection Software online at all times. The second any of those large chested human females made a move, they would've been reduced to melted flesh. Weak as her brother was, even their eight generals were weary of facing him in combat.
She quickly saved the readout results, including the data he obviously didn't look over before coming back here, and continued the conversation. "We're almost done here." She ignored the audible delight from her brother. "But there's one more thing to go over." The model disappeared and in its place, a map of Japan with a line going through many of the major Japanese cities. "Your flight plan deviated from its original course." His original route appeared on the map in the form of a blue line, starting from the Japanese Alps and ending in the Kyushu Mountains. "You went into Woodpecker's domain. Why is that?"
"Oh, it's because I detected most of her weapons systems went offline. So I opened up the Shinobi Kekkai to go help."
Eratoeir narrowed her eyes. "And you were going to help her with what weapons?" She asked ever so sweetly. "Surely you must have learned how to fire your Buster now, right?" Angepitoyeir gave a nervous smile. Just because she had faith that he could beat these superpowered humans, that didn't mean anything if said foe could break through a Kekkai on the level Woodpecker was in charge of operating. Judging by the fact his combat systems weren't active, that meant that this intruder wasn't considered a threat, thank goodness. "That wasn't the only reason you entered her domain, was it?" Angepitoyeir was rarely happy about giving his daily updates, so whatever was in Woodpecker's domain must have really left him super happy.
"Nooooo…" The angel boy twiddled his thumbs and blushed. "I was just so excited that I wanted this next part to be a surprise. I found him! Our little brother!"
"..." If Angepitoyeir was paying attention to his HUD, he would have noticed the internal temperature drop hard. "Is that so?" Before he could say anymore, Eratoeir stopped him, keeping a smile on her face. "You did good." She ignored the urge to coo at the way he reacted to her praise. "Now you may go. I..need to be alone."
"You bet!" Oh, she must be as happy as he was!
Soon Eratoeir found herself alone, and her beautiful smile morphed into a hateful, narrow-eyed, gritted scowl. "Well well well, so that's why you betrayed us, big sister."
X checked the map data one more time and yep, that was the island of Okinawa. And the flight data said that this blimp was en route to Honshu in a couple of hours. There was no specific city or location programmed in, just the exact center of Japan's main island. It had to pass by what he was reading as a 'ninja barrier', and then get permission from something or someone named Hebijo. Any information pertaining to that term was incomplete, however, and unless he had the second and third parts to the file, he wasn't going to learn anything.
Didn't mean he wasn't going to swipe it though, maybe delete it from the computer's registry? '3 minutes left.' He reviewed the information he gathered since his bootup ,and let's just say that it didn't paint a pretty picture.
Right now this blimp was hovering over the city of Ginowan, that meant that the area he woke up in, according to the map and correlating data from his helmet's own map function, was the exact location that Futenmagu Shrine was located. 'I thought that Rico said I was in Honshu.' The location data must have been bugged when she entered the Maverick's server, but he could worry about that later. If his hunch was right, then this barrier, this Shinobi Kekkai, was keeping this raging, electrified torrent out of the real world. Any attempt to breach the barrier could send who knows how many tons of water into a populace completely unprepared for it, and X would not allow that to happen. Unfortunately, and he hated to admit this, he had to leave this situation as is, and make his escape. He was way too hasty in getting rid of that Maverick before it teleported away.
"..." Wait a minute! He accessed his helmet's internal records, and sure enough, the two Mavericks teleportation logs were there! 'Please let me be right!' He accessed the blimp's computers once again and performed a little invasive surgery. The fact that he was even able to get inside here without any resistance showed that the Maverick was, admittedly rightfully, sure that she would be the only one in this strange pocket dimension or wherever he was. This was a new world after all, so why worry about proper security? And that laziness was going to be his key out of here.
'Come on, come on!' The databases for each Maverick Commander's personal terminals showed the names and locations of their fellow commanders. The purpose of which was simple, to help coordinate troop movement and get status updates from Sigma in case he needed to contact multiple commanders at once. This computer was no different, but there was a caveat this time. It showed that there were seven other Maverick commander, but what it didn't show were their names or locations, only their serial numbers, like the three Rico showed him during their briefing. That minor disappointment aside, however - "YES!" It also had the complete teleportation logs!
'I knew I was right!' To keep this much water and abnormal weather activity in the same exact location as a major metropolitan area, and keep it hidden? Well obviously some interdimensional trickery was at work! Though whether this entire area was in Cyberspace, or an actual, other dimension, he couldn't be sure. In order for the Maverick and any potential supplies to get in and out, there would need to be a powerful Transerver to manage teleportation in and out of the enclosed space and into the real world, and what do you know, this blimp had a Transerver!
'2 minutes left!' Now he knew what to do! First, take every bit of data he could off of here and download it into his CPU. Then, set this thing to fry after a set time limit. Third, use the Transerver to warp him out of here! 'Here we go!' He had everything he needed, including the codes to what he was presuming to be the Maverick's hideout! Obviously that wasn't going to happen anytime soon at his current level of strength, but what he did have was the next best thing! 'Counterstrike Boar, I'm coming for you!' X rapidly inputted the coordinates -'1 minute left!'
-And soon he found himself above Ginowan, the real Ginowan, as the sun began to rise. '30 seconds!' As of this moment he was in the exact same latitude and longitude coordinates that the blimp used to be, and right now he needed a lot of power, because he wasn't even sure he could take a fall at his current level of strength. Forcing the security locks off of his Buster, and a lot of other safety locks as well, he allowed his subconscious to guide him in the direction of where Counterstrike Boar was, using the coordinates downloaded into his helmet as a guide, charged his Buster, charged his thrusters, put the last remnants of the special weapon into action- "YYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH!" And fired!
Like a shooting star, X found himself shooting across the nation. With the gravikinetic powers of the Special Weapon fueling his momentum as the last vestiges of it faded from his system, combined with the additional force of his Dash Thrusters and Charge Shot, X soon cleared Kyushu, his broken neck flopping uncontrollably as the sheer speeds he was going at caused some other parts of him to break. Allowing his subconscious to guide him once more, since he couldn't see or focus at the moment, he began charging up his Buster one final time, his feet going diagonally up as he aimed his Buster in the same direction, and fired. "AAAAAAAGHHH!" And with that his Buster's internal battery was utterly shot, so was his Dash too, offline errors forming migraines and head pains all over as those specific parts of his body shorted out with very visible explosions.
And as he soon crashed into the trees, and then through the trees with the amount of force he was flung with, he knew this was going to hurt a lot more than he thought. As he skidded across the ground and bounced off of it, breaking more than just his neck, specifically the subcomputer that operated his lower joints and leg movements, he knew Rico was going to be furious with him.
And as he bounced one final time, the force of which sent his flopping, broken body over the treetops and into what he would recognize as a rice field -if his main consciousness was still online at this point- he knew he had all the time in the world to regenerate. After all, Counterstrike Boar was in someplace called Tohno, and X made sure he landed far, far away from the Maverick.
Oh, how wrong he was.
