Now, last time I asked why there is only one sock left after the washing has been done ... I got loads of various ideas so I decided that smushing them all together must be the right answer ... so here goes:
An anomaly opens up and socks fall through. The anomaly leads to Heyarandomgal's room where she keeps some for her odd sock collection, the ones that she doesn't like she puts aside and she feeds the left ones to a troll and the right ones to the sock fairies who use a pipe to lure them away. The remaining pairs of socks in the washing machine are either eaten by the little monster who lives there or by the washing machine itself ...
There. I hope I didn't miss anything out. A huge thank you to Heyarandomgal, SolarLunar, I Am The Real JessP So Marry Me Becker (I love your name btw ;) but it wouldn't let me print it without spaces D:), juls124 and Elliesmile
For all of your awesome ideas :D

I hope you enjoy this one :D
When the team came back through the doors to the hub, laughing and joking about how they wished that all anomaly alerts could be that fun; Jess was still at the ADD. She was hoping that if she stayed around in plain sight of everyone then Becker would be less inclined to ask her to continue their 'conversation'. It seemed to work. There were always staff bustling around the hub, and Lester often had nothing else to do but stare out of the window and make exasperated and angry faces at Jess when he was on the phone to the Minister, and although Becker had given her a pointed look and jerked his head to the more deserted corridor, she had ignored him and turned back to minesweeper.
Eventually though, Becker approached her at the ADD; he seemed to have accepted that Jess wasn't about to talk to him, so instead he produced a chocolate bar. Her favourite, plain chocolate with almonds and held it out for her to take, meaning it as a gesture that he wasn't angry with her, just worried. She looked stricken for a second before glancing at him with a brief smile
'I'm fine thanks Becker. I'm not hungry at the moment' Becker was taken aback, but managed to keep his cool, he wafted the chocolate under her nose
'But this is your favourite Jess' he taunted, more than a little concern in his voice. This concern cut through Jess like a knife how can he act as if he cares she told herself he just doesn't want to look like an idiot that I'm refusing chocolate.
'Sorry Becker' she said lightly, patting her flat stomach 'I should really go on a diet. Do you know how much that will begin to rot my teeth? Yuck.' She included a warning in her tone, one that even the most oblivious guy couldn't refuse to pick up on. Back off. It said.
Becker heard the tone and gave her a look, but backed off, confused and hurt. Only Abby noticed of course, but it was there.
So Abby decided to give it a go later, just as the team were packing up. She told Connor to wait for her in the menagerie and gave Becker a look that said stick around for news.
She sidled up to Jess and leaned on the desk
'What's up Jess?' Abby wasn't one to beat around the bush, she swung her legs childishly as she hopped up to sit on the £500 table
'Fine thanks Abby, you?' Jess didn't look up from the screen, but a pink flush was creeping up her neck
'Oh come on Jess' Abby said bluntly, rolling her eyes 'you haven't been yourself today. Something must've happened'
Jess shook her head once, frowning at the screen 'nothing happened. Why does everyone assume that something happened just because I'm less cheerful than usual?' Jess decided to make a plausible excuse and she looked around gingerly before lowering her voice to Abby 'It's just … that time of the month, that's all' she hissed, going as red as her second favourite lipstick (her favourite was pink). Abby was silent as Jess returned to staring at the screen in mortification. One the one hand, it was plausible … on the other… Jess was Jess. And Jess had obviously had periods before, and she had never been anything less than hyper, and certainly her style in make up hadn't changed one jot so Abby wasn't convinced. But she probed no further, knowing that Jess would stick to that story now that she'd thought of it.
As Abby jumped off the desk casually and strolled in the direction of the menagerie, passing Becker who had been waiting around the corner tensely and greeted him with a small shrug and a shake of her head. Becker sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he headed towards the exit. He looked sadly at Jess as he passed; she had barely moved, and stared at the screen with a small frown on her face, but as he watched, her lip trembled slightly.
Becker bit his own lip. Just about to push the door open he heard a shout; he turned to see Darren hurrying into the room and Jess's face split into a huge smile as she looked up at him. He planted a kiss on her lips (which made Becker clench his fist) and wrapped an arm around her waist; pulling her, laughing, out of her chair. Becker turned and left, not wanting to witness any more.
Had he stayed, just another minute longer, he would have seen Jess squirm uncomfortably as his grip on her waist became too tight, and a flash of fear in her bright eyes as Darren pulled her to the same corridor that he had seen Becker disappear out of, whispering something in her ear as he did so.
Darren drove. Jess had gotten the bus into work this morning, knowing that he would be giving her a lift home. When they got inside Jess took his coat and hung it up, letting Darren look around.
'Nice' he said approvingly, wandering through the spacious living room and plopping down on the leather couch, he patted the seat next to him which Jess soon occupied. They sat like that for a while, close; Darren placed his arm possessively over her shoulders and pulled Jess in so she was nearly leaning on his chest. She wouldn't have minded except he was pulling. Making sure that Jess couldn't sit up straight if she had wanted to, and at the moment, Jess did want to. It was uncomfortable, the way she was sitting, if she had tucked her feet up under herself it might mot have been so bad, as it was, it stretched her sides and it hurt her neck.
'Let me up Darren' she laughed, wiggling out of his grasp that he loosened for her, she wanted to go to the bathroom to replenish her make up 'I'm just gonna go and freshen up' she said, standing. She had taken two steps before Darren grabbed her wrist
'Stay' he said, voice soft 'You look fine as you are' Jess blushed
'I want to look more than fine' she insisted, tugging at her hand, Darren's grip tightened
'Stay' he repeated.
'Oww!' Jess exclaimed as Darren clenched his fist around her arm 'Darren! You're hurting me!' she tried to pull away, now Darren stood up, managing to do so without giving Jess leeway to move,
'I know' he spat, harshly
Jess flinched and her eyes widened in fear, not again, she thought please … she struggled uselessly as he loomed over her, raising his fist and striking her with it, but not in her face as she had expected, but into her stomach. Jess cried out as pain exploded through her middle, she doubled over, despite the fact that this pulled her wrist in an unnatural direction as Darren didn't let go. He hit her again, in exactly the same place, which winded her, making her gasp; then he yanked her up and let go of her wrist, only to grab both her shoulders. His fingers bit into her flesh as he forced her to meet his eyes, his were as hard as iron, hers were brimming with tears and pain
'The next time I tell you to do something.' He growled 'you'll fucking do it! Won't you?'
Jess just stared at him in horror. He shook her hard, making her teeth rattle in her skull, then she nodded. 'Good' said Darren, dropping her so she fell on the floor in a crumpled heap. 'But I'm not sure you really get the message.' He gave her a sharp kick with his steel capped boot, and then left her there, whimpering, as he stomped out of her flat and down the stairs.
Jess wasn't able to move for the next couple of hours, and when she could, every tiny movement cause pain to shoot through her.
She knew that Darren wasn't going to apologize this time, knew that this was his true self. And that she had no choice but to go along with it. She had already promised to keep his hitting her a secret. Besides, who could she tell? No one outside of work, and in the ARC, Darren could easily find out if she was talking to someone. She was well and truly trapped. All this was beside the point. Darren would never let her leave now. And Darren has a very effective method of making sure that she stays.
So there you have it ... O.O
What do you think? Love it? Hate it? Indifferent?
What will happen next? Will things improve for poor Jess? Can Geese be rabid?
Please help me figure it out
Love you all
Love Tibbins xx
