X-Men An Unnatural Omega Volume2

Chapter 3: The Gameplan, and The First Incursion

Reed Richards had assembled a group of Avengers who weren't at the Hellfire Gala to discuss their next steps in dealing with the looming threat of the dark multiverse. Vision, She-Hulk, and Sentry had all decided to show up due to the enormity of the situation.

"We need to understand what we're dealing with," Reed said, pacing back and forth in front of the group. "Mistress Death told us that the dark multiverse is a place where fears and nightmares are made real. It's a shadow multiverse, a parasite on our own reality."

The group murmured among themselves, clearly shaken by the idea that there was a parallel multiverse that existed solely to feed on their own fears and doubts.

Thor, who had lost his prized hammer during his last fight with Derrick, looked up from where he was sitting. "I understand now why Derreck was able to defeat me," he said, his voice heavy with realization. "He drew strength from the dark multiverse, from everything that could go wrong in our own realities."

Lady Sif and Loki, who had been present during Derrick's fight with Thor, exchanged worried glances. They had never heard of anything like the dark multiverse before and were unsure how to proceed.

Reed continued, "We need to figure out a way to stop this before it's too late. We don't know how or when the dark multiverse will cross over into our own reality, but we need to be prepared."

She-Hulk spoke up, "But how do we even begin to prepare for something like this?"

Reed stopped pacing and turned to face her. "We start by gathering as much information as we can. We need to study the dark multiverse, understand its laws and rules. We need to anticipate its next move."

The group nodded in agreement, and Reed continued to lay out a gameplan. They had a long road ahead of them, but they were determined to stop the dark multiverse from wreaking havoc on their world.

As Reed spoke, Dr. Doom listened carefully, his expression inscrutable. He had his own reasons for wanting to keep the multiverse safe, and he was willing to work with the heroes if it meant achieving that goal. Norman Osborn, meanwhile, shifted uncomfortably, still trying to prove himself as a hero after years of villainy.

"I agree with Reed," Vision spoke up, his voice calm and measured. "We need to gather as much information as we can about the Dark Multiverse and prepare accordingly. We should also consider enlisting the help of other heroes who weren't at the gala,

Dr. Doom finally spoke, his voice low and measured. "We need to act quickly," he said. "The longer we wait, the more time the Dark Multiverse has to encroach upon our own. We cannot allow that to happen."

Norman Osborn nodded, his expression serious. "I may not be the hero you all want me to be," he said, "but I am willing to do whatever it takes to protect the multiverse. Count me in."

Reed Richards looked around the room, taking in the assembled heroes. In addition to Thor, Lady Sif, Loki, and Dr. Doom, there were also She-Hulk, Norman Osborn, Logan, and Sentry. "Alright, we're all up to speed on what we're dealing with".

The group murmured in agreement, clearly still processing the information.

Thor spoke up, "I can attest to the power of Derrick. It was his own strength that defeated me. He is invulnerable to harm, and even my most powerful strikes did not seem to affect him. It was as if he was made of some unbreakable material."

She-Hulk raised an eyebrow, "Invulnerable to harm? That's quite a claim. How do we know this is true?"

Logan, who had been quiet up until this point, spoke up, "I can confirm it. I was there when Derrick shattered Thor's hammer with his bare hands. He's no ordinary opponent."

Reed's mention of Thor's hammer being crushed by Derreck's bare hands hung heavy in the air. She-Hulk's eyes widened in disbelief, "Are you kidding me? That's impossible!"

Logan added, "It's not just his strength. Derreck has a simplistic mind and often clueless nature. His only friend for the past 26 years is a street rat named Mr. Rat."

She-Hulk grimaced at the thought of a rat being someone's best friend. "That's unsanitary," she muttered.

Sentry looked thoughtful, "It's possible that Derreck's abilities are tied to his simple nature. Perhaps he has a unique connection to the Dark Multiverse that makes him impervious to harm."

Vision nodded in agreement, "It's also possible that Derreck's powers extend beyond physical strength. We should be prepared for any eventuality."

She-Hulk's confusion grew as Logan mentioned Mistress Death's involvement. "Wait, why is Mistress Death getting involved?" she asked, a furrow in her brow.

Logan simply replied, "Mistress Death is Derreck's mother."

There was a moment of stunned silence in the room as everyone processed this information. The Asgardians had a look on their faces that indicated disbelief, and Norman Osborn had a similar expression.

She-Hulk looked incredulous, "You're kidding, right? Mistress Death is his mother?"

Logan shook his head, "Nope. Derreck's got a...complicated family situation. But that's a story for another time."

Reed Richards cleared his throat, "Regardless of his parentage, we need to be prepared for anything. We don't know what kind of power or influence Mistress Death may have in this situation."

Dr. Doom and Norman Osborn shared a look of surprise as they processed the revelation that Mistress Death was Derreck's mother. As they discussed the implications of this, it became clear that this new piece of information would greatly affect their plans moving forward. Meanwhile, the Asgardians were also deep in discussion, with Thor and Lady Sif exchanging worried looks. Loki remained stoic, but his mind was clearly racing. The Dark Multiverse was a formidable opponent, and the revelation of Derreck's mother only added another layer of complexity to an already challenging situation.

Loki turned to Thor and Lady Sif, "Perhaps we could try to establish a parley with Mistress Death. If she is indeed Derreck's mother, then it would be wise to try and avoid any further conflicts with her. We may be able to find common ground and work together to protect her son."

Thor considered Loki's suggestion for a moment before responding, "It is not a bad idea, brother. Mistress Death may be a powerful being, but she is not without reason. If we can find a way to work together, it could benefit us all."

Lady Sif nodded in agreement, "I agree. We should at least explore the possibility of a parley with her. We need to protect Derreck, and if Mistress Death can help us do that, then it's worth considering."

Loki smiled, pleased that his suggestion was being taken seriously. "Very well. I will see if I can establish contact with her and arrange a meeting."

With that settled, the group continued their discussion on how best to protect Derreck and stop the threat of the Dark Multiverse from spreading.

As the shock of the revelation sank in, the group began to piece together the implications of what they had learned. She-Hulk, Vision, and Sentry realized that Derreck's simplistic nature and lack of ulterior motives meant that he was unlikely to be a pawn of his mother. Meanwhile, Mistress Death's motivations became clearer as they discussed Derreck's invulnerability and inability to feel pain or sleep. It was clear that she felt a sense of responsibility towards her son, and was concerned about protecting him given his unique condition. The group couldn't help but feel a sense of empathy towards Derreck, who was essentially cut off from many of the basic experiences that defined human existence.

As the heroes were discussing their plan of action, a breaking news report caught their attention. A small town in Colorado was experiencing bizarre and unprecedented events. People were reportedly behaving erratically, clapping their hands and making strange noises. Vehicles and structures were bending and twisting as if reality itself was warping.

Reed quickly checked his workstation and confirmed the source of the disturbance - an incursion from the Dark Multiverse. The heroes rushed to the scene and were met with a twisted, gnarled version of Boulder unlike anything they had ever seen before. The air was thick with an otherworldly haze, and the sky had turned dark.

As they approached the epicenter of the disturbance, a human-sized, grotesque, tentacled creature emerged from a tear in the fabric of reality. Its head was made of messy tentacle hair, and a face-sized mouth screamed with a cacophony of otherworldly voices. The heroes had no idea what to expect as the creature stood in silence.

After a moment, the creature's attention was drawn to a scent in the air. It sniffed the air curiously, then looked intrigued as it realized what it had detected. "Do I smell a half-breed among you?" the creature asked, its voice laced with malice.

Iron Man, still catching up on the situation, asked, "Half-breed? What are you talking about?"

Madness-Eternal chuckled. "You must be the newcomers. The son of Mistress Death, the God of the Dark Multiverse. Don't try to hide him from me. I can smell him on you."

The heroes realized that the creature was referring to Derreck, and Iron Man quickly asked, "Are you Derreck's half-brother?"

Madness-Eternal paused for a moment, then let out a dark chuckle. "No, I am not. But I am familiar with him. He's a distant relative, twice removed, you could say. And now, he has sent me here to claim what is rightfully his. "Then why have you come to our world?" asked Captain America, stepping forward with his shield at the ready.

"I have come to claim this world for my own," the creature replied, its tentacles writhing in anticipation. "I feed on the natural order of things, twisting it into an unnatural order. This world will make a fine addition to my collection."

As the creature spoke, it summoned a small galaxy in its tentacled hand, which emitted faint screams that echoed through the air. It then crushed the galaxy with ease, causing the heroes to recoil in horror.

"And I will have it... Steve Rogers," the creature continued, shocking everyone with its knowledge of Captain America's true identity.

Before anyone could react, the Sentry charged at Madness-Eternal, determined to protect his world from this monstrous creature. "You will not take this world," the Sentry bellowed, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy.

The creature simply chuckled in response, its tentacles lashing out at the Sentry. The heroes realized they were facing an enemy unlike anything they had ever encountered, and they would need to work together to stop it.

Madness-Eternal let out a bone-chilling laugh as Wolverine's claws tore a piece of its arm off. But to everyone's surprise, the severed arm began to writhe and crawl like a centipede on the ground. As Wolverine looked on in horror, Madness-Eternal began to let out the voices of people Logan knew, screaming in agony from the wound.

Logan was stunned, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. The pain of those people was somehow contained within Madness-Eternal, and it was as if Logan could feel it too. "What kind of sick game is this?" he growled, as he lunged at the creature again. As Logan charged at Madness-Eternal, the creature simply laughed, its voice a sickening mixture of all the souls it had consumed. "Oh, Logan, my dear friend," it taunted. "Do you not remember your past? The sins you have committed? The blood on your hands from your days as Weapon X?"

Logan was taken aback. He knew that his past was dark, but how could this creature know about it? "You know my past?!" he growled, his claws extending.

Madness-Eternal simply grinned, its twisted face contorting even further. "Oh yes, Logan. Your past is one of my favorites," it said, its voice dripping with malice. "The pain and suffering you have caused... it all feeds me."

Logan lunged at the creature, his rage and fury fueling his attack. But Madness-Eternal was too powerful, and it easily dodged his attack, its tentacles lashing out and sending Logan flying back.

Madness Eternal laughed as Steve Rogers' shield hit him in the face, but it didn't stop there. "And Logan, do you want to hear your mother's voice? She's here with us, after a counterpart of yours from the dark multiverse murdered her in a place much like this, almost," the creature said with a sickening smile.

Logan's eyes widened in shock and horror. "What are you talking about?" he asked, his voice laced with anger and confusion.

Madness Eternal chuckled. "Oh, don't play dumb, Logan. You know what I'm talking about. The sins of your counterparts in the multiverse are many, and they all add up. You have much to answer for," it taunted.

Logan gritted his teeth, his claws extending as he lunged at the creature again. "You're gonna pay for that," he growled, determined to make Madness Eternal suffer for its cruel words.

As soon as Madness Eternal mentioned Logan's mother, the creature's mouth twisted into a grotesque grin. Suddenly, it opened its mouth wide, revealing a horrifying sight - Logan's mother, trapped within the creature's maw.

Logan couldn't believe what he was seeing. His mother, who had been dead for years, was somehow trapped within this monstrous creature. He felt a surge of anger and desperation rise within him, and he lunged forward with renewed fury.

Amidst the chaos, Logan heard a voice that sounded like his mother's. "I forgive you, son," it said. "I always will." Logan froze for a moment, his rage subsiding as he stared at the creature in disbelief.

He knew that his mother would never have forgiven him for the things he had done, but hearing those words from the creature's mouth made him feel a glimmer of hope. Perhaps there was a way to save his mother, even if it meant facing the horrors of the dark multiverse.

But as he attacked, Madness Eternal simply laughed, its tentacles lashing out to strike at Logan. The heroes knew they were facing a formidable foe, but they couldn't back down now. They had to find a way to stop Madness Eternal before it was too late.

Madness-Eternal turned to face She-Hulk, its tentacles writhing in the air. "Ah, She-Hulk, the half-breed with a temper," it sneered, its voice dripping with malice. "Do you know, I have devoured entire worlds where your powers were brought to the extremes? There was an alternate version of you in the dark multiverse, mutated to the point where she couldn't even move properly. Her body was like the toxic, radioactive material they call the 'Elephant's Foot'. She poisoned the environment with gamma rays that emitted off of her, and her cancerous sores drove her insane."

She-Hulk's eyes narrowed as she listened to Madness-Eternal's words. She could feel the anger and disgust welling up inside her once more, but this time it was mixed with a sense of fear. Could it be true? Could there really be versions of her out there that were so far gone? She shook her head, pushing the thoughts aside. Now was not the time for doubt."I won't let that happen," she said, her voice firm and resolute. "I know the dangers of my powers, but I also know how to control them. And I will use them to protect the innocent, not harm them."

"You can't scare me with your lies," she said firmly, taking a defensive stance. "I won't let you hurt anyone here."

Madness-Eternal turned to face the portal behind him, and with a wave of his tentacles, he conjured an image of the alternate universe that he had just described. The image showed a world that was ravaged by gamma radiation, with twisted and mutated forms of beings that were once familiar to her.

In the center of the image was a grotesque figure that resembled She-Hulk, but she was unrecognizable. Her body was swollen and bloated, her limbs distorted and twisted. She was surrounded by a sickly green glow, and She-Hulk could feel the radiation emanating from her through the portal.

"You see, She-Hulk," Madness-Eternal hissed, "this is what you could become if you don't learn your place. Your powers may be impressive, but they are nothing compared to what I can unleash upon you."

She-Hulk felt a shiver run down her spine as she gazed at the twisted version of herself in the image. But she refused to be intimidated.

"I know who I am, and I know what I stand for," she said, her voice steady. "And I won't let you or anyone else make me doubt that."

Madness Eternal let out a hiss of displeasure, its tentacles thrashing in frustration. "We shall see," it said, its eyes fixed on She-Hulk. "We shall see."

She-Hulk felt a shiver run down her spine at the sound of Madness Eternal's voice. She couldn't help but wonder what it had in store for them next. She watched as Norman Osborn stepped forward to confront the being, only to be met with a dismissive laugh.

But then, Madness Eternal did something unexpected. It showed them a version of Spider-Man that was unlike anything She-Hulk had ever seen. The hero had a giant spider for a lower body and a humanoid spider for the top half. Madness-Eternal explained that this was how humans normally were in that universe without any outside interference.

She-Hulk couldn't help but feel a mixture of awe and horror at the sight. She had never imagined a world where humans could be so drastically different. But then, Madness Eternal showed them another creature that looked eerily similar to Norman Osborn's Gold Goblin.

She-Hulk felt her stomach turn as she looked at the grotesque creature. It was clear that this universe was nothing like the one she knew, and the thought of living in a world where such creatures were considered heroes was unsettling. She could see the shock on Norman's face, and for once, she couldn't blame him for being speechless.

The heroes knew that they had to work together to take down this creature, but with each passing moment, it seemed to grow stronger. They had to find a way to defeat it before it was too late.

Vision felt a cold shiver run down his spine as Madness Eternal's tentacles reached out to him, showing him a vision of a dark multiverse counterpart. In this universe, he saw a grotesque figure made up of different body parts from various individuals, with a hideous amalgamation of flesh and bone stitched together to form his body.

The being looked up and stared directly at Vision with glowing red eyes, causing Vision to take a step back in fear. Madness Eternal explained that in this universe, the being had reprogrammed organic matter instead of machines, and he needed the different body parts to sustain himself.

Vision felt sickened by the sight before him, and he couldn't help but wonder how anyone could live in such a world. He felt a pang of gratitude for the reality he knew, even with all its flaws and imperfections.

Vision's eyes widened in shock as he saw the face of his beloved Wanda on the body of the dark multiverse counterpart. It was a grotesque and disturbing sight, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of horror and revulsion.

Madness Eternal seemed to sense his discomfort and let out a low, ominous laugh. "You see, Vision," it said, "in this world, your dear Wanda was not the kind and gentle soul that you know. She was twisted and corrupted, and in her madness, she became something...else."

Vision felt a chill run down his spine at those words. He couldn't even imagine what kind of horrors Wanda had been subjected to in this dark multiverse. But he knew one thing for certain: he would do anything to keep his own Wanda safe and protected from such a fate.

He turned his attention back to Madness Eternal, steeling himself for whatever other twisted visions it might have in store for him and his companions.

Madness-Eternal recoils from the repulsors, its body writhing in agony. But then, it suddenly stops and looks at Iron Man with its twisted face. "Ah, I see...," it says, its voice low and rumbling. "You are tormented by your past... by the memory of your parents." It then unleashes a barrage of voices, all sounding like Tony's parents, begging him to stop hurting them. Tony freezes in shock, momentarily paralyzed by the sound of their voices.

But as he attacked, Madness Eternal simply laughed, its tentacles lashing out to strike at Logan. The heroes knew they were facing a formidable foe, but they couldn't back down now. They had to find a way to stop Madness Eternal before it was too late.

In that moment, Madness-Eternal takes advantage of Iron Man's hesitation and lashes out with its tentacles, striking him with great force and sending him flying across the battlefield.

As the heroes were struggling to contain Madness Eternal, the sky above them suddenly darkened as Ghost Rider appeared on his flaming motorcycle. With a fierce determination, he rode straight towards the creature, locking eyes with it as he unleashed his Penance Stare.

The Penance Stare was a powerful weapon, one that Ghost Rider only used in the most dire of circumstances. It forced those who looked into his eyes to confront their own sins and misdeeds, reliving the pain and suffering they had caused to others.

Madness Eternal let out a deafening scream as the souls trapped inside it were forced to relive their own sins and misdeeds. Ghost Rider could feel their pain and agony coursing through his own being, and it made him sick to his stomach.

But he knew that he had to keep going, that he had to make Madness Eternal pay for the lives it had destroyed. He poured all of his energy and strength into the Penance Stare, determined to break the creature's hold on the innocent souls trapped inside it.

As the screams grew louder and more agonizing, Ghost Rider could feel his own resolve faltering. Not every soul trapped inside Madness Eternal was guilty, he knew that. But he also knew that the creature was too dangerous to let live.

As Ghost Rider and Madness Eternal engaged in their final battle, the creature lashed out and tried to gouge out Ghost Rider's flaming eyes with its tentacles. Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel quickly intervened, using their powers to pry Madness Eternal off of Ghost Rider.

In a last ditch effort to win, Madness Eternal opened its maw and let out a torrent of flames, which engulfed Ghost Rider. However, Ghost Rider was unfazed by the flames, and instead retaliated with a powerful blast of hellfire.

The blast severed the tentacles from the portal, causing them to writhe and flail before dying on the spot. As the battle raged on, Ghost Rider's flaming eyes locked onto Madness Eternal, and he unleashed the full force of his Penance Stare.

The souls trapped inside Madness Eternal screamed as they were forced to relive their own sins and misdeeds. Ghost Rider himself was also affected by the sheer number of souls he was forced to punish, and he was left with a heavy burden on his conscience.

As the Penance Stare weakened Madness Eternal, Sentry seized the opportunity and hurled the creature back into the portal. The heroes watched as the portal slowly closed, cutting off the creature's connection to the Dark Multiverse and sending it back to where it came from.

Ghost Rider turned to the group, his eyes still burning with a hellish fire. "Remember this day, heroes," he warned. "Not every soul in that creature was guilty. The forces of darkness will always seek to invade our world, but we must always remember to seek the truth and justice in our battles." With that, he rode off on his motorcycle, leaving the heroes to contemplate the cost of their victory.

The heroes were silent as Ghost Rider's words hung in the air. They had saved the world once again, but at what cost? They had defeated Madness Eternal, but at the expense of innocent souls who were caught in the crossfire.

Ms. Marvel spoke up, her voice hesitant. "What do we do now?" she asked, looking at her fellow heroes. "How do we make amends for what we've done?"

Captain Marvel placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "We can't undo what's been done," she said. "But we can learn from it. We can strive to be better, to do better. To be the heroes that the world needs."

Iron Man nodded in agreement. "We have to be more careful in the future," he said. "We can't let our emotions cloud our judgment. We have to remember that there are consequences to our actions, and we have to be prepared to face them."

the heroes continued to stand in silence for a moment longer, processing the weight of their actions. Sentry then spoke up, breaking the silence.

"What do we do with these tentacles?" he asked, motioning towards the remnants of the portal.

Captain Marvel looked over at the pile of tentacles thoughtfully. "We can't just leave them here," she said. "They could still pose a danger."

Iron Man nodded in agreement. "We should transport them to a secure facility," he suggested. "Somewhere with the resources to properly contain them."

Ms. Marvel frowned. "But what about the innocent souls that were trapped inside?" she asked. "Can't we do something for them?"

Captain Marvel turned to her, placing a hand on her arm. "We can honor them," she said. "We can make sure that their sacrifice was not in vain. And we can work to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again."

The heroes shared a nod, silently agreeing to do what they could to make amends for their actions. With a sense of purpose, they began to gather the tentacles and transport them to a secure facility, determined to do what they could to prevent any further harm.

Logan couldn't shake off the weight of guilt that settled heavily in his chest. Despite the relief he felt from his alternate mother's forgiveness, the knowledge that an alternate version of himself had killed her weighed heavily on him. He had made mistakes, had let his emotions control him, and it had nearly led to their downfall.

As he looked at his fellow heroes, each lost in their own thoughts, Logan knew that they all had to do better. They had to learn from their mistakes and become the heroes that the world needed them to be. Even though it would be difficult, they had to rise above their flaws and strive to be better.

As they worked to gather the remnants of the portal, Logan couldn't help but think about the innocent souls that had been trapped inside. He wished there was something more he could do to ease their suffering, but he knew it was too late. All he could do now was honor their sacrifice by being the best hero he could be.

He made a silent vow to himself, a promise that he would use this experience to become a stronger and more controlled hero. He would not let his emotions cloud his judgment again. He would work tirelessly to ensure that nothing like this ever happened again. He would make sure that the innocent souls' sacrifice was not in vain.

She-Hulk couldn't help but feel a sense of dread as she reflected on what she had seen. The dark multiverse was a terrifying place, full of unimaginable horrors and twisted versions of reality. And now, she had seen the consequences of their actions in that realm.

She felt a deep sense of guilt for what had happened, knowing that innocent souls had been caught in the crossfire. As a hero, she had always tried to do what was right, but now she realized that sometimes even the best intentions could lead to devastating consequences.

She-Hulk looked around at her fellow heroes, each lost in their own thoughts. They were all struggling to come to terms with what had happened and what they had seen. But despite the weight of their actions, she knew that they were still heroes at heart, determined to do what was right and make amends for their mistakes.

She felt a sense of hope as they worked together to transport the remnants of the portal to a secure facility, knowing that they were doing everything they could to prevent any further harm. And she knew that they would continue to work tirelessly to be the heroes that the world needed, to rise above their flaws and strive to be better.

She-Hulk made a silent vow to herself as well, promising to use this experience to become a stronger and more compassionate hero. She would not forget the innocent souls that had been caught in the crossfire, and she would do everything in her power to ensure that nothing like this ever happened again.
