X-Men An Unnatural Omega Volume 2

Chapter 4: The Return Home, Nature Girl, and The Revelation

Logan sat on the Avengers' Quinjet, staring out into the endless expanse of the sky. He had just returned to the team after the battle with Madness-Eternal, and his mind was still reeling from the experience.

He couldn't shake the image of his mother, or at least a twisted version of her, inside the monster's mouth. He knew it wasn't really her, but the memory of her words still haunted him.

"She forgives me, she always will," Logan whispered to himself.

Could his mother forgive him for all the pain he had caused? He didn't know. He had done things he wasn't proud of, and he couldn't undo them. But maybe, just maybe, he could start to make amends.

As he reflected on his past, Logan realized that the battle with Madness-Eternal had shown him something important. He had always been a loner, keeping his emotions and thoughts to himself. But the monster had exposed his innermost feelings, forcing him to confront them in front of his fellow Avengers.

And something surprising had happened. Instead of rejecting him, they had rallied around him, showing him support and acceptance. They had seen the pain and trauma that he carried with him, and they had offered him a sense of belonging that he had never experienced before.

As Logan sat on the Quinjet, still grappling with the aftermath of the battle, a sudden warmth spread through his chest. The realization hit him like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds.

It didn't matter that this version of him had never caused his mother any pain. The fact that she could forgive him despite the actions of his alternate self was a powerful and humbling thing.

Tears pricked at the corners of Logan's eyes as he felt the weight of his guilt start to lift. He knew that he still had a lot of work to do, a lot of wrongs to make right, but for the first time in a long time, he felt hopeful.

"She forgives me," he whispered again, this time with a sense of wonder and gratitude. "She always will."

Logan felt a newfound sense of purpose and determination settle within him. He would use this second chance, this forgiveness, to become a better person and make amends for the mistakes of his past.

Nature Girl walked along the shores of Krakoa, her heart heavy with the weight of the environmental damage she had witnessed. As a mutant with a deep connection to nature, the sight of pollution and its devastating impact on wildlife struck her to her core. She had always been passionate about protecting the environment, but recent events had pushed her to her breaking point.

As she walked, her keen senses picked up on something unusual. She followed the trail of debris and garbage that littered the beach, and her heart sank when she saw a sea turtle struggling in the sand, choking on a plastic bag. Without hesitation, Nature Girl rushed to the turtle's side, using her powers to communicate with the animal and offer comfort. She carefully removed the plastic bag and tried to help the turtle, but despite her best efforts, it was too late. The turtle's lifeless body lay on the beach, a grim reminder of the dire consequences of pollution.

Nature Girl's grief and anger surged as she looked down at the lifeless turtle. She couldn't comprehend why humans continued to harm innocent creatures and destroy the planet with their careless actions. Tears streamed down her face as she cradled the turtle's body, overwhelmed with a sense of helplessness.

She couldn't comprehend why humans continued to harm innocent creatures and destroy the planet with their careless actions. Tears streamed down her face as she cradled the turtle's body, overwhelmed with a sense of helplessness.

Nature Girl, fueled by her grief and anger over the destruction of her homeland and the environmental harm caused by human corporations, sought out allies to help her in her fight to protect the environment. She knew that she couldn't do it alone and needed others who shared her passion for preserving nature.

In her search, she unexpectedly found common ground with Curse, a mutant with the ability to control energy, and Sauron, a fearsome villain with the ability to transform into a powerful, pterodactyl-like creature. Despite their differences, they were all united in their desire to protect the planet and its natural resources.

Some time later…

Emma Frost was in her office in New York when her phone rang. It was one of her sources on Krakoa, informing her of troubling news about Nature Girl. Apparently, the young mutant had killed a man and was causing political damage to their island.

Emma knew that she had to act fast before the situation got out of hand. She immediately contacted Logan, who was already on the island, and informed him of the situation. Logan was tasked with bringing Nature Girl back to Krakoa.

But as soon as Derreck heard about the mission, he volunteered to tag along. Logan was initially hesitant, unsure of how useful Derreck's abilities would be in this situation. But Emma reminded him of Derreck's invulnerability, and how he could be an asset in case things got messy.

As Emma was on the phone, she couldn't see Derreck's excitement as he overheard the conversation. However, she knew of his history on Krakoa and was hesitant about letting him join the mission.

"Logan, please be careful," Emma said over the phone. "And keep an eye on Derreck. I know he's eager to help, but we need to be cautious."

As Logan prepared to depart for the island, Derreck couldn't contain his excitement. He had always wanted to be a part of a mission, and he saw this as his chance to prove himself to the mutant community.

As Logan and Derreck prepared to depart for the island, Logan noticed Derreck's determination and fierce energy. However, Logan was also aware of Derreck's potential for losing control and causing collateral damage.

"Listen, Derreck," Logan said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I know you're eager to prove yourself, but we need to be mindful of our surroundings. We can't afford to cause any unnecessary harm or damage."

Derreck nodded in agreement, his eyes filled with determination. He understood the importance of being careful and controlled in their actions.

"Got it," Derreck said, giving Logan a thumbs up with his gloved hand. "I'll do my best to keep it together."

Logan nodded, feeling reassured by Derreck's response. He knew that Derreck had the potential to be a powerful force for good, but he also knew that they needed to work together and be mindful of their actions in order to achieve their goals.

Some time later…after a wild goose chase involving a cross-country rode trip….

Derreck, the son of Mistress Death, and Wolverine, also known as Logan, were on a mission to stop the supervillains, Nature Girl, Curse, and Sauron, who had blown up the oil refinery, causing destruction and harm to innocent humans caught in the crossfire. Derreck's invincibility allowed him to shrug off their attacks with ease, and he was determined to stop them and protect the workers.

As Derreck and Logan confronted the villains, Derreck's unyielding resilience and shark-like teeth made him a formidable opponent. He charged through the flames and debris, showing no signs of slowing down, much to the surprise of Nature Girl, Curse, and Sauron. Derreck was fueled by his anger at the harm caused to innocent lives, and he was determined to put an end to the villains' destructive plans.

Nature Girl, Curse, and Sauron, initially confident in their abilities, were taken aback by Derreck's relentless advance. Despite their best efforts, nothing they did seemed to slow him down. Derreck's invincibility and formidable presence instilled fear in his opponents, as he fearlessly took everything they threw at him.

In the midst of the battle, Derreck called out to Sauron with a snarl, his shark-like teeth bared, "Sauron, this ends now! Your senseless destruction stops here!"

Sauron, startled by Derreck's tenacity and imposing presence, faltered for a moment, caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events. Logan, who fought alongside Derreck, capitalized on the villains' momentary hesitation, landing decisive blows and disabling their defenses.

Derreck, the son of Mistress Death, charged through the flames and debris with unyielding determination, fueled by his anger at the harm caused to innocent lives. His shark-like teeth were bared as he stared directly at Nature Girl, Curse, and Sauron, knowing that they were responsible for the destruction of the oil refinery. He had inherited his mother's powers and abilities, making him a formidable opponent.

Nature Girl, Curse, and Sauron, initially confident in their abilities, were taken aback by Derreck's relentless advance. They had underestimated the ferocity of Mistress Death's son. Derreck's invincibility and resilience seemed almost otherworldly as he shrugged off their attacks with ease, showing no signs of slowing down. His formidable presence and relentless assault left them scrambling for a strategy to counter his unwavering determination.

As Derreck charged forward, Nature Girl, Curse, and Sauron tried everything in their power to stop him. Nature Girl summoned vines and roots that shot towards Derreck, hoping to ensnare him and bring him down. But to their surprise, Derreck simply swatted them away, causing them to explode into splinters.

Curse, recognizing the threat that Derreck posed, threw a barrage of energy attacks at him. But Derreck simply paused for a brief moment, raising an eyebrow at the energy, before continuing to walk forward as if the attacks were nothing.

Sauron, usually a fearsome opponent in his own right, was equally taken aback by Derreck's sheer power and resilience. He tried to transform into his pterodactyl-like form and attack from above, As Sauron continued to attack, Derreck turned to face him, and suddenly a mass of black, tentacle-like appendages formed on his back, coiling together to create a solid T-Rex head. The creature let out a deafening roar, shaking the ground beneath them and causing Sauron to stop mid-flight, landing on the ground and backing up on all fours.

Logan, who was fighting off the other two villains, couldn't help but gawk in awe at the sight. He had never seen anything like it before, and the display of power was both terrifying and impressive. He knew that Derreck was a powerful mutant, but he hadn't expected this level of strength and resilience.

Then Logan couldn't help but stifle a chuckle as he watched the T-Rex head emerge from Derreck's back, roaring at Sauron in response. It was a strange sight, but also somewhat amusing. He had never seen such a display of power before, and the sheer audacity of it all left him both impressed and entertained.

Despite the severity of the situation, Logan couldn't help but find some humor in the situation. He knew that they were fighting a dangerous battle, but there was something about Derreck's nonchalant display of power that made him smile.

Derreck's display of power was unlike anything they had ever seen before. The T-Rex head that emerged from his back, formed by black tentacle-like appendages slithering together, was a physical manifestation of his rage and dominance over his opponents.

Despite the intensity of the battle unfolding around them, Derreck seemed almost bored by the whole affair. His expression remained neutral, with a blank stare on his face as he tilted his head to the side. It was as if he were completely uninterested in the fight, as if it were nothing more than a mere inconvenience.

The other mutants were left shocked and surprised by Derreck's seemingly unstoppable power. His resilience and sheer dominance in the battle were clear, and it was evident that they would need to come up with a new strategy if they hoped to defeat him.

But as he looked around, he noticed that there were workers nearby, in danger of being caught in the explosion. In his shock and desire to save them, Derreck disengaged from the battle and dove towards the workers. But it was too late, the explosion had already occurred, and he was buried under the debris.

Derreck's anger burned within him, even though he couldn't physically feel the debris that buried him. He could hear the cries of pain and desperation from the workers, and the fact that he couldn't save them gnawed at his soul. The memories of his own difficult upbringing and the absence of his mother, Mistress Death, in his life only fueled his fury further. He couldn't understand why she had never been there for him, and it only added to the deep-seated rage that boiled inside him.

Derreck's anger fueled his strength as he punched the mountain of debris off of him and into the upper atmosphere. The force of his blow caused a shockwave that rippled through the air, knocking back the surrounding villains and causing the ground beneath them to shake.

Logan watched in awe as Derreck freed himself with such ease, despite being buried under tons of metal. His admiration for the mutant's strength and resilience only grew stronger.

As the dust settled, Logan made his way to where Derreck had been buried under the debris. He knew that Derreck was invulnerable and likely unharmed, but he also knew that this was the young mutant's first mission, and the emotional impact of losing innocent lives weighed heavily on him.

Nature Girl noticed the shadow over Derreck's features and saw the rage in his eyes directed at her. She tried to summon vines and plants to defend herself, Derreck felt the vines wrap around him tightly, constricting his movements. Nature Girl's unexpected attack caught him off guard, and he was dragged underground, disappearing from sight. But Derreck's rage fueled his strength, and he refused to be held back. With a primal roar, he broke free from the vines, tearing through them as if they were wet paper. He burst out from the ground, shaking off the debris and pushing forward, his fury growing with each step.

The earth trembled beneath Derreck's feet, catching Sauron's attention. The cunning villain realized that Derreck was now unstoppable in his enraged state. Sauron abandoned his current opponent and rushed towards Derreck, using his dark powers to try and hold him back. But Derreck, now fully embracing his anger, pushed through the dark energy, plowing forward with sheer force.

But Derreck, fully embracing his anger, pushed through the dark energy with sheer force, determined to put an end to the villains' destructive plans.

The ground shook as Derreck charged forward, his fury and determination palpable. Sauron, realizing that he was no match for Derreck's relentless advance, attempted to fly away. But it was too late. Derreck was already upon him, his massive hand grabbing Sauron by the leg and yanking him back down to the ground.

Sauron transformed into his pterodactyl-like form, his wings flapping furiously as he tried to break free from Derreck's grip. But Derreck was unyielding, his grip unbreakable. With a fierce roar, he slammed Sauron into the ground, leaving a deep crater in his wake.

The other villains watched in horror as Derreck continued his rampage, his wrath fueling his every move. Nature Girl, who had been caught off guard by Derreck's sudden attack, could only stare in disbelief at the unstoppable mutant before her.

Derreck's eyes glinted with an otherworldly intensity, his shark-like teeth bared in a fierce snarl. He was like a force of nature, unstoppable and unyielding in his rage.

As Logan watched on, he saw Derreck turn his attention towards Curse, who was now the only one left standing. The energy-wielding mutant was already backing away, knowing that she stood no chance against Derreck's unstoppable rage.

But Derreck was unrelenting, his fury driving him forward. With a burst of speed, he closed the distance between himself and Curse, grabbing her by the arm and pulling her towards him.

The two mutants collided in a shower of sparks as Curse unleashed her energy powers, but Derreck's invincibility allowed him to shrug off the attacks with ease. With a fierce growl, Derreck unleashed his own power, slamming Curse into the ground with a force that left a deep crater in her wake.

As she tried to get up, Derreck grabbed a hunk of metal and wrapped it around her, immobilizing her completely. She struggled to break free, but it was no use. Derreck's rage had driven him to new heights of strength and power, and there was no stopping him now.

"You!" Derreck exclaimed, pointing an accusing finger at Nature Girl. "How could you do this? Destroying an oil refinery and causing chaos is not the way to seek retribution for what humans are doing to the environment. Your actions are hypocritical and unjustifiable."

At this point, Nature Girl tried to justify her actions, and Derreck's anger flared up once again. He couldn't understand how she could defend her destructive actions, and he clenched his fists in frustration.

"No, you don't get it!" Nature Girl exclaimed, her voice rising. "Humans have been destroying the environment for so long, and nobody does anything about it! I had to take action, I had to make them see the consequences of their actions!"

As Nature Girl spoke, Derreck's expression grew more and more intense. He understood her passion for the environment, but he couldn't condone the destruction and chaos that she had caused. Finally, he had heard enough, and he acted on his frustration.

As Curse lay there, struggling to get back up, Derreck stared at her with an intense, almost primal gaze. He cracked something inside his neck, a sound that echoed through the air like a gunshot.

Then, with a sudden burst of movement, Derreck grabbed a nearby hunk of metal and wrapped it around Curse, immobilizing her completely. She struggled to break free, but the metal held her in place like a vise.

Logan watched in amazement as Derreck displayed his incredible strength and resilience, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The young mutant's rage was all-consuming, and he knew that it would take time for Derreck to come back to himself after such an intense battle.

Nature Girl, seeing that her previous attempts to stop Derreck had failed, resorted to using her plant powers to throw debris at him. However, Derreck's combat-ready instincts kicked in, and he dodged the incoming debris with ease. As he continued to advance, a metal beam struck him in the head, but it had no effect on him. Derreck simply stood still for a moment, his expression remaining unchanged, as if the attack had been nothing more than a minor annoyance.

Nature Girl, frustrated and desperate, grabbed another metal beam and threw it at Derreck with all her might. But this time, something different happened. Derreck's arm began to transform, the skin peeling away to reveal a mass of black, writhing tentacles that formed a massive blade resembling a giant combat knife. With one fluid motion, he sliced the I-beam in half, the blade cutting through the metal with a loud CLANG! sound.

Logan watched in awe as Derreck unleashed his true power. It was both terrifying and exhilarating to witness the extent of the young mutant's abilities, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The transformation was unlike anything he had seen before, and he knew that Derreck's powers were not fully understood.

Nature Girl stepped back, her eyes wide with shock and fear. She had never seen anything like this before. "What...what are you?" she stammered.

Derreck remained silent, his blade still poised in front of him. He didn't know how to explain what he was, and he didn't feel the need to. All that mattered was that he had stopped the destruction and chaos that Nature Girl had caused, and he was willing to do whatever it took to protect those he cared about.

Nature Girl, realizing that her last-ditch effort had failed, hesitated for a moment before stepping forward to face Derreck. She knew that she had to defend her actions, but Derreck's unwavering determination made her uneasy.

"Listen to me, Derreck," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "The destruction of the environment is a serious issue, and it's up to mutants like us to take a stand against it. I know that my methods might seem extreme, but sometimes extreme action is necessary to make people listen."

Derreck remained silent for a moment, his eyes fixed on Nature Girl's. He knew that she was passionate about her cause, but he couldn't condone the destruction that she had caused.

With a sudden movement, his bladed arm transformed into black tentacle-like worms that slithered towards Nature Girl's mouth, effectively silencing her. Derreck held up a finger, indicating that he didn't want to hear any more justifications or explanations.

"Hush, hush"! "Not...one...more…..word...please...".

Nature Girl's eyes widened in shock and fear as Derreck's tentacles held her mouth shut. She struggled and squirmed, trying to free herself, but Derreck's grip was unyielding. For a moment, the two mutants stood there in silence, with only the sounds of the destruction raging on around them.

Finally, Derreck released his grip on Nature Girl's mouth and turned away, his rage and frustration still evident in his body language. He couldn't condone her actions, but he also couldn't bring himself to harm her. Instead, he walked away, leaving Nature Girl behind to contemplate the consequences of her choices.

As Derreck walked away, Logan approached Nature Girl warily. She didn't put up a fight as he arrested her, realizing that she had lost this battle both physically and morally. Logan couldn't help but wonder how they were going to explain this to Emma, who had specifically asked them to avoid any unnecessary destruction.

Derreck looked at Nature Girl, still feeling a mix of anger and disappointment, but also realizing that Logan was right. Violence wouldn't solve anything, and he needed to trust the Council's judgment.

With a sigh, Derreck nodded, acknowledging Logan's arrest.

As the tension eased, Logan looked between Derreck and Nature Girl, relieved that the situation had calmed down. He knew that Nature Girl would have to face the consequences of her actions, but he also hoped that this would be a turning point for her.

"We'll take Nature Girl to the Quiet Council," Logan said, addressing the team. "In the meantime, Derreck, let's focus on our mission to protect the world and make it a better place, without resorting to violence."

Derreck nodded, still feeling conflicted, but willing to follow Logan's lead. The team regrouped and prepared to take Nature Girl to Krakoa, where she would face judgment for her actions. Logan hoped that this experience would be a wake-up call for Nature Girl and that she would learn from her mistakes, just as he had learned from his own past.

As the group arrived back at Krakoa, Charles Xavier and Magneto were waiting for them. They were both surprised to see Curse wrapped up in an I-beam and Sauron being carried by Logan, and they couldn't help but ask about their conditions.

"What happened to them?" Charles asked, looking at the defeated villains.

Derreck explained the details of the battle, including how he had immobilized Curse and how Sauron had been defeated and left in a crater. Charles and Magneto listened carefully, taking note of Derreck's actions and the state of the villains.

As they continued the conversation, Charles and Magneto couldn't help but notice the fear in Nature Girl's eyes as she rubbed her mouth, and they asked her about it.

Nature Girl hesitated for a moment before answering. "It's Derreck," she said, her voice shaking slightly. "He silenced me with his... tentacle-like arm. I've never seen anything like it before."

Charles and Magneto exchanged a concerned look. They had heard about Derreck's unique power and had seen it in action before, but they didn't know the extent of it. They knew that they would have to keep a closer eye on him in the future.

As Derreck began to explain his power, his eyes remained fixed on the window that he had torn into an alternate timeline. The others on the council were still taken aback by what they had just witnessed, and they listened intently as Derreck spoke.

"I don't use this power often," he began, his voice steady but somewhat uncomfortable. "It's not something I like to talk about, and I usually avoid using it in front of others. It tends to draw unwanted attention, and I don't like the way people stare at me."

He paused for a moment, taking a deep breath before continuing. "But in this case, I felt that it was necessary to show the council what could happen if we were to send these mutants to the Pit. The island released them in that timeline, and they continued on a dark path of destruction. We cannot take that risk again."

As he finished speaking, the window remained open, displaying the bleak alternate timeline. The council members exchanged worried glances, realizing the gravity of the situation. They knew that Derreck's power was not to be underestimated, especially since they had been warned by Mistress Death herself not to try anything with him.

As Derreck finished speaking and the window into the alternate timeline closed, the members of the Quiet Council were left deep in thought. The power that Derreck had demonstrated was awe-inspiring, but also slightly unnerving.

After a moment of silence, Charles Xavier spoke up. "Thank you for your testimony, Derreck. We have heard what you have to say, and we will take it into consideration as we deliberate."

The Council members then turned to discuss their decision. After some time, they reached a verdict. "Curse and Sauron will be placed in a common cell on the island, under guard," announced Magneto. "Nature Girl will be placed in a similar cell, but with additional monitoring and surveillance to ensure she does not repeat her actions."

Derreck nodded, accepting the Council's decision. He knew that he had done all he could to present his case, and now it was up to the Council to decide the fate of the three mutants.

As they left the council chambers, Logan approached Derreck. "That was something," he said, a note of awe in his voice.

Derreck shrugged. "It's just something that comes naturally to me," he said.

Logan nodded, impressed. "Well, you sure made an impression on them," he said, grinning.

As Derreck and Logan walked through the halls of Krakoa towards the council chamber, Derreck suddenly stopped and turned to face Logan. He looked uncomfortable, as if he had something more to say.

Logan raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

"There's more," Derreck said, his voice low. "When I looked into that timeline, I saw more than just what happened to Nature Girl."

Logan's interest was piqued. "What else did you see?"

"I saw what happened to you," Derreck said, his eyes darkening with a sense of foreboding. "In that timeline, you were sent to an auction to get intel. Beast bought the right to kill you by decapitating you, and then he resurrected you and used you as a weapon to kill any potential threat to Krakoa. He kept your skull as a trophy."

Logan felt a chill run down his spine. "That's messed up."

Derreck continued his timeline vision, and Logan watched in horror as he saw the events that could have transpired if he had been sent to an auction to get intel. In the timeline, Beast had bought the right to kill Logan by decapitating him and then resurrecting him as a weapon to kill any potential threat to Krakoa. Logan's skull was kept as a trophy, and Beast continued down his spiral, cloning both Logan and himself after Logan finally killed him. Derreck explained that in this timeline, Beast continued in secret and did not go down the path of redemption.

"I'm sorry you had to see it," Derreck said softly, "but we can't afford to shy away from the truth, no matter how unpleasant it may be."

Logan was shaken to the core by what he had just seen, and he turned to Derreck with a look of shock and disbelief. "You can see all that?" he asked, his voice slightly quiet and startled.

Derreck nodded solemnly, and continued his explanation. "Not just some timelines, Logan. Every timeline. Because I don't exist in any other universe either. I'm the only one of me. So, you see, every decision I make carries a heavy weight, and I have to be careful about the consequences of my actions."

Logan tried to wrap his head around the concept of being the only one of his kind in existence. It was a lot to take in. Derreck looked at Logan with a heavy heart and began to reveal his complicated heritage. "My father is from the dark multiverse," he started. "He created it, and he is the embodiment of everything that is wrong with it. My mother is Mistress Death, and she has always been aware of what he's capable of. But for the rest of us, we were never meant to discover the dark multiverse. We were never meant to know about its existence."

Logan listened intently, his brow furrowed in concern. "That's quite a heritage," he said, his tone serious.

Derreck nodded, his voice heavy with emotion. "And it means that traditional methods of resurrection won't work for me. Not only would there be nothing inside to resurrect, there wouldn't even be a physical body left behind. Even if they tried to clone a body and upload my memory, it wouldn't work. There would be nothing but oblivion and death forever, as if I never existed. It's a sobering realization."

Logan was frozen in shock. For so long, he and the other mutants had believed that they had conquered death, that they could always be brought back if anything went wrong. But Derreck's revelation shattered that illusion. "I... I don't know what to say," he stammered.

"I'm sorry," Derreck said softly. "I didn't mean to shock you. But it's important that we face the reality of our situation. Death is a part of life, and we can't always cheat it."

Logan nodded slowly, his mind reeling. "You're right," he said finally. "We've been too complacent, too focused on winning at all costs. We need to rethink our methods, to make sure that we're not taking life for granted."

Derreck nodded in agreement. "We need to remember that every life is precious, that death is a natural part of the cycle of life. We can't just keep resurrecting ourselves as if it's nothing."

The weight of the conversation hung heavy in the air, and Derreck felt the need to be alone with his thoughts. "I need to go," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I have to feed Mr. Rat."

Logan nodded in understanding. "Take all the time you need, Derreck. We'll talk more later."

As Derreck left the room, Logan was left in silence, his mind racing with the weight of the conversation. He couldn't shake off the disturbing realization that Derreck was the only one of his kind in existence and that his decisions carried a heavy weight in every timeline.

Logan had always been a fighter, but now he couldn't help but question the X-Men's methods of resurrection. He couldn't ignore the fact that death was a natural part of life, and that they couldn't keep cheating it without consequences.

As he contemplated this, Logan knew he had to share this information with Laura and the rest of the X-Men. They needed to rethink their approach to death and resurrection, and they needed to start valuing every life as precious.

He took a deep breath and made his way to the meeting room, where Laura and the rest of the team were waiting for him. He knew this would be a difficult conversation, but it was necessary.

As he entered the room, he could sense the tension in the air. They knew something was wrong, and Logan wasted no time in telling them what he had learned from Derreck.

He recounted the conversation, starting from the moment Derreck had shown him the disturbing timeline and ending with Derreck's revelation about his complicated heritage and the consequences of their actions.

The X-Men listened in stunned silence as Logan spoke, and when he finished, there was a moment of stillness before Laura spoke up. "So, what do we do now?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

Logan took a deep breath before responding. "We need to reevaluate our methods of resurrection. We can't keep taking life for granted and assuming that we'll always come back. We need to start valuing every life as precious and making sure that we're not putting ourselves in unnecessary danger."

The rest of the team nodded in agreement, and Logan could sense a shift in their perspective. They were no longer just fighters, they were protectors of life, and they needed to start acting accordingly.

As Logan finished recounting the conversation with Derreck, the X-Men sat in stunned silence. The gravity of what they had just learned was beginning to sink in. Storm spoke up first, breaking the silence.

"So what does this mean for us?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

Logan took a deep breath before responding. "It means we need to rethink our approach to death and resurrection," he said. "We can't keep taking it for granted and assuming we'll always come back. We need to value every life as precious and take the necessary precautions to protect ourselves and each other."

"But what about our enemies?" Nightcrawler asked. "What if they don't feel the same way?"

"We can't control what our enemies do," Logan replied. "All we can do is control our own actions and make sure we're doing everything we can to protect ourselves and each other."

Jean spoke up next. "What about Charles and Magneto?" she asked. "They've fully embraced resurrection. How are they going to react to this?"

Logan shook his head. "I don't know," he admitted. "But we need to have this conversation with them as well. They need to understand the consequences of their actions and the importance of valuing every life."

Laura sat quietly throughout the conversation, her mind racing. She couldn't help but think about Derreck and what his revelation meant for them. She knew that she had feelings for him, and the thought of losing him forever was almost too much to bear.

Wanda, on the other hand, was struggling to come to terms with the reality of the situation. For so long, she had believed that resurrection was the answer to all their problems. Now, she was beginning to realize just how dangerous and unpredictable it could be.

As the conversation continued, the X-Men realized that they had a lot to consider and many difficult decisions to make. But one thing was clear: they could no longer take life for granted. They needed to value every moment they had together and make sure that they were doing everything they could to protect themselves and each other, no matter the cost.

Logan and Laura approached Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Emma Frost, who were in the middle of a conversation in the study. The three turned their attention to the two mutants as they approached.

"What's on your mind, Logan?" Charles asked, his tone gentle.

Logan took a deep breath before beginning, "We need to talk about our approach to death Logan and Laura approached Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Emma Frost, who were in the middle of a conversation in the study. The three turned their attention to the two mutants as they approached.

and resurrection. Specifically, we need to talk about Derreck."

The room fell silent as Logan recounted his conversation with Derreck, detailing how Derreck only existed in one timeline due to his unique nature and how traditional methods of resurrection would not work for him. He explained that even if they tried to clone a body and upload his memory, there would be nothing left but oblivion and death.

Logan continued, "And there's something else. Derreck, our new mutant, has a unique power. He can see all possible outcomes of a given situation, in every timeline. But here's the thing, he only exists in this universe and in this timeline. There are no alternate versions of him out there. So, every decision he makes carries a heavy weight, and we have to be careful about the consequences of our actions."

Magneto furrowed his brow in confusion, "What do you mean he only exists here?"

Logan explained, "Derreck's parents are Mistress Death and a being from the dark multiverse, and as a result of his unique heritage, he only exists in this timeline, in this universe. If he dies, he's gone forever. There's no bringing him back through traditional methods of resurrection."

Emma Frost's eyes widened in shock, "That's impossible. Resurrection has been a vital part of our survival."

Logan nodded, "I know. But Derreck's existence has shattered that illusion. Death is a part of life, and we can't keep taking it for granted. We need to start valuing every life and being more careful with our actions."

Charles spoke up, "I see. This is a sobering realization, but it's important that we face the truth. We'll need to reevaluate our methods and make sure we're not putting ourselves in unnecessary danger."

Laura added, "And we need to make sure that Derreck knows what he's up against. He needs to be more careful about his decisions, knowing that there's no coming back if he makes a mistake."

Magneto looked troubled, "This changes everything. We must be more cautious and strategic in our battles."

Logan nodded in agreement, "We need to remember that every life is precious, and we can't afford to take it for granted anymore."

Laura spoke up, her voice filled with emotion. "Derreck is invulnerable to harm, but he can't feel anything. He can't eat or sleep since it doesn't do anything for him either. It's a lonely existence, and if we lose him, we lose him forever."

The group fell into a contemplative silence, each lost in their own thoughts. After a few moments, Charles spoke up. "Logan is right. We can't continue to rely on resurrection as a crutch. We need to start valuing life and making sure that we're not putting ourselves in unnecessary danger."

Magneto nodded slowly. "I see the wisdom in your words, Charles. We need to be more cautious and ensure that we're not taking life for granted."

Emma Frost agreed. "We'll need to reevaluate our methods and come up with a new approach. It won't be easy, but it's necessary."

As the group continued to discuss their next steps, Logan couldn't help but feel grateful for Derreck's honesty and for the difficult conversation they had just had. It wasn't easy to face the reality of their situation, but it was necessary if they were going to move forward as a team.

As the group discussed the implications of Derreck's unique situation, Logan couldn't help but feel grateful for his honesty and for bringing this difficult truth to their attention. It was a wake-up call for all of them, and they would need to work together to ensure that they were doing everything they could to protect and value every life.
