It was time for another trial. She actually was lucky, there were a few trials without her, so she had time to learn more about the people she was 'living' with and the people that were hunting and killing them. She properly met Feng Min, a girl who was a live streamer and a gamer. Doing e-sports and such. Surprisingly fit for someone who reportedly just sits and games on a computer. She met Thalita Lyra which was the survivor who arrived shortly before her. A brazillian girl who arrived with her brother. The girl did not know too much of the realm and just focused on surviving the trials. In a way she viewed it as competition or a sport. She does not know too much of the Entitys machinations and did not look too interested in learning it. Unlike Rita who was much more curious. In a way Dexter rubbed off on her. His inquisitive nature, how he investigates and solves crime. Rita wanted to solve this mystery and escape it. She also got to interact properly with Vittorio Toscano, the survivor who was here supposedly the longest. He was the biggest wellspring of knowledge. He knew the author of the journal Benedict Baker, he was a fellow survivor here in the realm. And he mentioned a new name she had not heard. Vigo, a man who was also a survivor in the realm here. But actually could affect the area around him, creating the hatch to escape the killers. From what she heard or understood, Vigo was a very important player in this plot, because he is supposedly the one who escaped this place and whats better was he also kept a journal that documented all this. They just needed to find it though.

From the killer side of thing she heard the trials of others. The Trickster, a killer she heard mentioned here and there, but she finally got to hear about him more in depth even though not directly from his manager Yun Jin who sort of glared daggers at Rita whenever she as so much as glanced at her way. The Trickster was a kpop idol singer who loved to torture his victims extensively. The survivors that faced him said how he expressed disdain for hooking and sacrificing survivors. Claiming they go much too soon. He was a killer who prefered to torture their victims until they screamed their hearts out, until they died from blood loss. He made his kills as slow and as painful as possible, while also recording all of it. He was a snuff filmer, though just with the audio side of it. And then how in trials he throws knives at the survivors, for a kpop idol, he was an excellent knife thrower who can hit moving targets and even get them with ricochet knife shots. Doing the hunt with excessive glee and giggling.
Again, Yun Jin knew more about this, but she was not going to speak. Clearly not wanting to talk about the dark point of her life. The point that got her here.

The next killer or killers she learned about was the Legion. A group of 4 teenagers that were taken during or around 1996. The had a damaged photo of them, 4 seemingly innocent looking teenagers smiling for a photo. Looking at the back, she could see the date 28 August 1996. Hah, its sort of ironic and sad, if they were not taken by the Entity, they would've lived normal lives, probably grown out of that teenage hooligan rebel phase. They would be her own age actually in the present day. But the Entity took them and cranked up the volume on their violence and aggression. They enter a Feral Frenzy and slash people with knives, putting them in a deep wounded state. She wondered if she could reason with the killers or are they too far gone. She learned their names were Frank, Julie, Susie and Joey. With Frank being like the leader of the group. Though the pink haired one looked more timid. Could she be reasoned with? It was a thing to wonder. Were there killers that wanted out or did they lose their humanity.

The final one she learned about was Ghostface. He was like from the Scream movies she watched. But this was not anyone from the movies, this was an original killer. Danny Johnson, a stealthy stalker who likes to learn their victims routine, stalks them to know every aspect of their life, before he kills them. And yet he is someone Rita has one thing in common with. They both are from Florida, only she's from Miami and he was from more up north. From Roseville, Florida. Even though she was fairly sure that didnt exist. There is a Roseville in other states like Ohio, but not in Florida. Then again one of the survivors did say something about multiverse hence how some characters that are fictional are real.

This new trial had Rita with Kate Denson, Vittorio and David King. She was only familiar with Vittorio though. She was determined to survive this, but she was nervous who the killer would be. Just listening on them sent her on edge. But she had something this time. She actually unlocked her first perk. She looked down at the charm that was hanging on her belt. It was like a picture of hanging meat from a hook. It was not her own special perk, but more of a generic one called 'Slippery Meat' which allowed her a few chances to try and actually escape the hook herself. To the veterans it was a pretty crappy perk. But it was still better than nothing.

Eventually, the trial started. Rita leanred one more thing. They get a minute to prepare and select their perks or to throw their offerings to the flame. She had one offering, it was the Damaged Photo. She learned it would allow her to go to the ski resort, Ormond. It was the first place she got to when she arrived here. That was the Legions realm. She looked at the photo and decided to burn it.
Although shortly before the trial started and after all the survivors threw their offerings. Something came flying from the shadows as it was thrown in their flame. It was the killer who tossed his own offering.
She watched the thing burn, the stink of rotting organic matter emanated from this foul mixture.
"What is that?" Rita asked
"The beef tallow mixture. The killer is sending us to the Decimated Borgo... My home" Vittorio answered

At this point it was a 50-50, it was going to be either Ormond or the Decimated Borgo. As they were all taken by the Entity, everything went black for a second.
Rita opened her eyes and found that there was no snow, no ski resort cabin. But what seems to be the charred remains of a village. Vittorio quietly said before his home. So that means this was medieval Italy. She cant imagine how he feels revisiting a false version of his home... Over and over. There was a reddish haze or fog, the sky also looked sickly. Everything had an eerie vibe.
She couldnt dwell on this as she had to work, Rita found one generator in the ruined remains of a building, the rubble is still smouldering. She worked on the generator and did not make any mistakes. She was actually proud that she was getting a hang of it. Part of her comically wondered if she came home if she could be a mechanic.
Rita was being very careful or as careful as she could be, but she did not feel a heartbeat or hear it. Part of her made her wonder if its a stealth based killer, like the Ghostface that was mentioned to her.

But she heard a scream and noticed a red aura, that was Vittorio. She could see him. But he was so far away. Soon he was picked up and hooked. Rita considered going to help him, but she also did not want to abandon this generator. She remembered how Mikaela told her once that as long as you're at least working on a generator, you are greatly helping the team. Thats one of the most important tasks. She can trust someone more experienced to go for a save.

She finished a generator and just went along the edge of the realm. She made sure to hide, she did not know who the killer was yet, but she saw that Vittorio was saved and another generator got finished. This was good 2 done and 3 more to go. Although soon she heard David go down as well and get hooked. Rita found another generator and still was on one side of the realm. She started working on it, but heard Vittorio go down again. It seemed as if this killer really had a vendetta against the man. And considering that this was his home world, she wondered was the killer also someone who knew this place. Still, it was now 2 people on hook and Kate was the only one who could go for a rescue. Unless, she actually dares to stop working on this and goes to help them. Rita knew she could not stay idle and let others suffer. So she abandoned the generator and rushed to save someone.

Arriving to another part of the village she saw Vittorio struggling while someone was guarding the hook and patrolling around. He looked around her size, but was very... monstrous in his appearance and had a branding iron as his weapon. That was one intimidating weapon, it was something more painful than it was lethal. Still, Rita could not let fear take a hold of her. She went on and ran over to Vittorio to set him free. The person rushed at her with sadistic glee. But just as she grabbed Vittorio and braced for pain, she noticed the killer fade away in green energy
"What?" she was confused
"Thats not the killer... thats his summoned guard..." Vittorio said as he was panting and injured.
Rita urged him to follow her so she can heal him
"No... dont.. its too dangerous. The killer wants me dead first. Go before he gets you"
"But-"
Heavy footsteps were starting to be heard in the distance and the familiar heartbeat was finally coming.
"Trust me, you dont want to face this. Go before you get slaughtered!" he angrily urged her to leave because he knew the killer. The Knight, had a personal vendetta and hatred against him and wanted him dead.
Nevertheless Vittorio ran, hoping he would follow him and the blood. Rita resigned herself then to go back to the generator she was working on. But the killer was arriving over to her. She hid and saw the Knight who was looking for the survivors, for her. He was absurdly close to her, just behind the wall as she was in the main building. He considered investigating where she was. But then he noticed Kate. He stabbed the ground with his massive sword and suddely green energy sprouted from him. Rita watched an orb fly towards Kate and disappear. Soon a big burly guy got summoned as he appeared out of thin air. He saw Kate and chased her. Soon the Knight lifted up his blade and ran after her. This made her understand why and how the survivors are going down. And why Vittorio didnt want her to face this guy. She couldnt help but watch as he with no mercy cut down Kate and picked her up so she can be hooked. She wondered could she save Kate, if there was an opening or not.

She watched as the Knight did the same thing again, only this time the orb was circling the hook and soon a 3rd person appeared, he looked like an asssassin. So with all the context clues, it looked like this killer could summon 3 different people. She watched as the Knight left Kate in search of others while the Assassin was patrolling around to make sure Kate doesnt go anywhere.

As soon as the Knight left and the heartbeat was gone, she went to save Kate, although unlike the last time, the Assassin was quicker and managed to cut Rita, giving her a deep wound. She managed to unhook Kate, but now both were injured and if the pattern shows, its that the Knight was going to start running over here. So the two injured girls needed to go anywhere but here.
There was the sound of the 3rd generator finally finishing. Only 2 more to go. The Knight was now hot on their tail and determined to get the two. He aimed his slice at Rita, but Kate actually jumped on ahead to take the hit, because she knew she could endure it. Although that infuriated the Knight, so he focused on her. Kate told Rita they needed to split up, so they did. The Knight chasing after Kate.

Rita managed to find Vittorio who was healed by now and offered to help her since they werent in danger. As she was being healed, she asked him in a serious tone
"Do you know him?"
And he answered just as well "Yes... Sadly I do... I hired ths lunatic for an expedition. He is a mercenary Knight and he was supposed to be my bodyguard" he sighed as he fixed healing her "I was foolish. Too engrossed in my studies to find the Lapis Paradisius to actually know what kind of person I employed. I just heard the recommondations how effecient he was"
And right on cue, Kate was downed and hooked again.
"Was he always able to..."
"Summon his guards? No... that was after we arrived here" although they couldnt waste time. "Lets go, we stil have 2 generators to finish and to rescue Kate"
Although soon they heard David go down as well and get hooked "And David" Vittorio added

He sighed, "You go for David, I will go for Kate. We cant stay together othewise he will get us all"
"Right" she said and made her way to David, and as Vittorio went to Kate.
Rita managed to arrive over and see the killer was not guarding David, so she safely got him. Although Vittorio was not lucky as he did not manage to save Kate, the Knight wanted him badly and went to kill him. This was not going to be a hook kill. But a personal one. A Memento Mori, if you will.
Rita went on to heal David. She was not the best nor fastest healer, but she managed to get the job done. And the brutish englishman told her to follow her so they can do a generator. Though he expressed doubt on their survival.

For a moment they actually worked in peace. Even though they were the only ones alive, the Knight was not chasing them. Mostly because he was searching the wrong areas. But as soon as they finished a generator. They had 1 more to go. And the killer knew where they were. The 2 survivors had a run for it. Rita stayed with David, even though it looked like the guy wanted to ditch her.

The Knight eventually found the two, and sliced at David. So far this killer didnt really focus on Rita much at all. She was not even hooked. She noticed that, the last two didnt spare her. Although this does not look like sparing anyone. She imagined he counted with how new she was he could leave her for last. After all, she did not know where the escape hatch would appear.
Rita considered should she take the hit for David, she ran ahead of the killer to be between him and David. The killer didnt really mind that so he slashed at her with his blade so he could get to David King. And even though David put up an impressive chase, the killer and his bloodlust were too much and soon he fell as well. The Knight claimed another victim.

So it was just him and her. Killer and Survivor.
Rita left the open are and went into the killer shack. She heard that sometimes the hatch may appear there, but it wasnt. She checked. And there was no sound cue they told her about.
Meanwhile the killer followed the trail of blood. He knew the trail would lead him to his prey. As she went again on the edges of the realm, he spotted her. The edges were most unsafe and considering she was new, she did not know how to run him. It would be childlishly easy to cut her off and get her. Which was exactly as he did. He took a different path, to cut her off. She stopped and wanted to go back, but she kinda got cornered.
What can she do? She got nothing. No escape. This was another death. She knew it. She slumped down in defeat, expecting the pain of that hook and stab of that entity again.

The Knight looked at her at how she resigned herself to death. It was...pathetic. This was a too easy of a kill. Its like killing a newborn. Pathetically easy. Was he the type of warrior who took this easy prey? No... thats disguisting. He raised his sword and wondered should he just put her down like an injured animal that she is. He was ready to make that decision and that swing
"Please... " make it quick? Please dont? She wasnt sure what she was going to ask. The imposing terror of this Knight was too much.
The Knight looked at her for a moment and tilted his head to the side, not quite understanding the fumbling words the blonde woman gave him. But he feels he made his decision. He placed his sword down and grabbed her and placed her over his shoulder. He held her on his shoulder, hand pressing over her wound. It was painful, very painful, but it stopped the bleeding at least. She expected a hook, soon, very soon. But then she noticed he passed one... and another... and another?
What was going on? What was he planning. She considered to struggle so she can free herself, but his grip tightened which made her yelp
"Hagyd abba a küzdelmet, nő" he told her.
Rita stopped struggling as she realized he spoke to her, but she had no idea what he said. What language was that. Usually she understood everyone. Not this guy. What was he doing anyway.
Before she could ask, she heard a sound like a hum or something. It wasnt long before the Knight stopped moving and dropped her on the ground
"Megy!" he told her as he pointed somewhere. And soon Rita looked behind her and saw the hatch. She was in so much pain that she couldnt even get up, so she had to crawl over to the hatch and enter it. Although, even then she noticed the trial ended the same way. She saw darkness
