She found herself back at the campfire. Startled she goes to look at any wounds she might have had. But nothing. It was all gone as if she never had anything. Rita noticed Mikaela who was close by and greet her
"Hey there, you're back. How did things go?"
"I think I escaped... I crawled over to the hatch and then Im here" Rita explained, though she is disappointed that the end is the same. Escape or die, you come back here. The only difference is whether you lose part of yourself or not.
Suddenly though, something emerged from the campfire. It was another charm which had an image of what seemed maybe Rita herself with a purple background. She picked it up and curiously looked at it
"Oh congradulations. You unlocked your first unique perk" Mikaela happily said with a clap.
Rita looked at it and examined it. She looked on the back side of it to see if it had anything else to it.
Suddenly letters appeared on it. Long Game
"Start the trial by seeing the aura of the furthest generator. The furthest generator from you will have an increased repear speed of 10/13/15%. After repearing that generator, the aura of the furthest generator is revealed to you for 2/3/4 seconds." Rita read out the contents of the perk
"Well thats pretty neat. You have a gen speed perk. Cant wait to see what else you get or how we can combine your abilities with others" Mikaela was enthusiastic about the posibilities, although Rita was not so much. Or rather, its not like she didnt care. She was glad of the success that she unlocked something. She did not waste time to place it on her belt so it can be equipped. Its just that the Knight... he let her live. Why? And should she tell anyone?
Mikaela noticed Rita's expression so she asked "Is something wrong? You look sad" the ginger wiccan showed concern for Rita and wondered if she can cheer her up from whatever made her sad. But Rita smiled and brushed off the worries, saying she was just homesick. Even though that wasnt plaguing her at the moment.
"Dont worry. We'll find an escape" Mikaela said to reassure her.
Rita politely nodded but continued to ponder, what if the killers also had their humanity in them. The Knight showed her mercy. Why? She wanted to know. She was determined to know. In fact she wanted to confront him the next time she sees him in a trial. But she also needed to prepare. That means she needed to ask Vittorio just who was the Knight.

Mikaela soon bid her farewell as she needed to go get ready for a trial, which meant Rita had some time to herself. She looked at the shadows, the darkness that was just outside the campfire area. The killers... can she find them outside the trial?
She got up to see if she can see someone.
"I wouldnt go there if I were you" a voice told Rita as she stopped in her tracks. Turning back she saw Jake.
"Im assuming the killers are there." Rita spoke
"Yes, they are. Its like very unsafe. There's no telling what would happen to you" he warned her
Looking away from him and to the darkness, she thought she could see something, albeit barely. A white and ghostly mask. She recognized that mask even though she didnt face the killer. It was Ghostface who eerily waved at her. As if looking forward to their trial. She looked back at Jake
"Are they allowed to hurt us out of trial?" she asked
"Not if you're in the survivors area. But if you leave the safety zone, anything can happen" Jake answered her
"What if we're both on our own side?" she wanted to try and find a way to communicate with a killer and get more info
"Like on the edge of the survivor and killer area?" Jake questioned
"Yeah"
"Uhmm... I mean, as long as you're in the safety zone, the killer cant hurt you. Though, I doubt anyone would be happy that you're chatting it up with a killer"
She looked back towards Ghostface to see if she can call him over and ask him some questions about the Entity or the killer side of it, but she soon found out that he was gone. The stealth master vanished, either into hiding to stalk his prey or he just got bored and left. She felt uneasy though, that the killers could be watching them whenever they want. It was unnerving. She was fully aware this was more fear of the unknown rather than fear of an actual killer. Its just who is watching? What do they see? Is someone watching or is she paranoid.
"Listen... dont be scared. They're harmless as long as we stay here. All they can do is watch and be menacing. And besides you shouldnt worry about if anyones watching, otherwise you'll be overly paranoid and scared. You'll feed the entity more... and we dont want that" Jake said trying to be reassuring, but pretty sure he was failing in that regard
"I see... all right" she said but she was anything but alright. "I'll just take a walk" she told him and walked away. She needed to be alone to gather her thoughts. She wished she could talk to someone. But also wished to be left alone. Maybe she wasnt willing to talk to just anyone about anything. No, she wanted to find Vittorio. She hoped he was not in a trial.

As she explored the survival area, she noticed him talk to the german architect, she belived his name was Felix. She just heard his name in passing, but didnt know the guy. Luckily it looked like the two finished their conversation, so Rita was clear to approach the italian.
"Ah Rita, I see you are back. How did the trial go?" Vittorio asked
"It was something... I actually escaped" Rita announced
"Wonderful news. Your first escape and against a Knight of all people. Conradulations"
She timidly smiled because its kind of embarassing to get congradulated. Maybe she was not used to it. It was hard to get used to this new normal.
"Thank you. But I wanted to take the time to ask you about the Knight. Since you two had a connection"
The italian mans smile faded as he realized the Knight was the subject of their talk and thus became more serious
"I see. Very well. What do you want to know?" he asked
"Tell me anything about him. Anything, everything"
"Very well" he sighed and spoke "In 1391, I mounted an expedition and employed a mercenary knight to aid in the effort to find the Lapis Paradisius and to offer protection. The Knights name was Tarhos Kovacs. My explorations and discoveries eventually led us to the heavily guarded catacombs beneath the Portuguese city of Sintra. If the expedition wanted to enter, they would have to kill those who guarded it. I had no wish to shed blood and told Tarhos to find another way. Tarhos defied me and got the stone by bloodshed and by the end of the day he had me in irons. When we returned to Italy, Tarhos locked me in a dungeon and began a campaign of torture in Portoscuro, promising to stop when I revealed the meaning behind the stone to him. Within weeks or what I think were weeks, Tarhos grew tired of torturing the townsfolk, and thus I was left to rot in the dungeon with no one to talk to but the rats."
Rita noticed how this was a very unpleasant subject to talk about, so she placed his hand on his shoulder and said "Thats enough. Im sorry. I didnt know. I didnt want to put you through reliving any painful memories"
He looked at her and shook his head. Yes it was a painful memory, but he couldnt blame her. After all, she didnt know
"Its alright. You didnt know."
She wanted to ask him about this Lapis Paradisius, but in case it was another painful subject, she didnt want to open any more old wounds, so she decided against it. But now once she got a taste of this story, she had to wonder, why did a man who becane a campaign of torture, spare her? Should she be worried?
