Marinette picked Brimstone, Adrien picked Sova, Nino picked Chamber, Alya picked Jett, and Chloe picked Fade. Adrien knew his opponents' usernames, so he knew that Kim picked KAY/O, Alix picked Viper, Ivan picked Killjoy, Mylène picked Raze, and Mireille picked Sage.
The map they were on was called Split. It was the map that was small and had a lot of tight corners. Team Miraculous was going on the offensive first. Marinette and Adrien had planned to stay at the back in case they were going to be targeted first. Chloe was in the front, and they were pushing A site.
Chloe scouted but didn't find anyone. Marinette threw some smokes to block the enemy. Alya dashed onsite and planted the spike. Adrien was guarding the flank while his teammates were scattered around the site.
Adrien killed Mireille when she tried to come in through the flank. Soon after that, Kim killed Alya and Chloe.
His opponents were playing to retake the site. Adrien charged in, using an arrow to seek out his opponents. He managed to kill Alix and Mylène, but he was then killed by Ivan. Kim and Ivan then killed Marinette and Nino, then Ivan defused the spike.
The next round was another win for Potato Party. They had denied Adrien's team when they tried to plant on B site, forcing them to rotate. Team Miraculous was then beaten on A site, having lost by elimination.
For the third round, Team Miraculous continued with the slow push. They played more carefully, not peeking too often. With this approach, Adrien was able to kill Ivan and Kim, while Nino killed Alix. It was an easy defense as Alya, the other remaining player on Adrien's team, flanked and killed Mylène and Mireille.
Marinette shined in the fourth round, having killed three enemies, leaving Kim and Mylène. So far, Kim had been carrying a lot, but even the weakest players on the team would gain an opportunity to score more kills in later rounds, so she wasn't going to underestimate anyone.
Team Miraculous waited for the retake and then defeated their opponents.
The next rounds were interesting. It had been such a close game that everyone was on their toes. Sometimes, Team Miraculous would take the lead, then lose it again, and eventually, they ended the first half of the game at 6-6. So far in the tournament, there hadn't been such a close game. Each team quietly discussed their strategies.
Adrien and Marinette were guarding A site, while the rest guarded B. It was a good thing there were scouts on each side.
This time, Team Miraculous won the pistol round, thanks to Adrien getting four headshot kills and Chloe killing the last player, giving them a flawless victory, and breaking the tie.
They managed to keep the lead for the next two rounds before Potato Party tied the game again thanks to Alix using her Viper ultimate.
Kim and Alix made an aggressive push while the defenders were powerless, killing Alya and Nino. Their strategy paid off because they had good aim and killed the defenders quickly. Adrien, Marinette and Chloe quickly ran to retake the site. They all had their ult, so they used it together. Once they used all their scouting abilities, Adrien and Marinette opened fire. Adrien killed Ivan and Alix with an energy beam. Marinette used an orbital strike, forcing their opponents to retreat. Adrien defused while Chloe and Marinette finished off their opponents. They then exchanged fist bumps at the amazing teamwork.
The next round was a win for Potato Party, once again tying the game. Kim's team pushed B site. Nino had his ult, which was a powerful sniper rifle. Unfortunately, he lost the sniper shootout to Kim, but not before killing Mireille. Kim would go on to snipe Alya and Marinette. Adrien was forced to retreat when Mylène threw a grenade.
The attackers then seized their opening and planted the spike. With two against four, the odds were against Adrien and Chloe. Pushing from two different sides, Adrien managed to kill Mylène while Chloe killed Kim, but then both were killed by Alix.
With the score at 11-10, Team Miraculous strengthened their resolve to set up their defenses.
Kim and Alix's aggressive playstyle didn't pay off this round, having fallen victim to two easy headshots from Adrien, and they dropped the spike near A site. Mylène struck back using her ult, killing Alya with a blast from a rocket launcher. Adrien and Marinette fiercely guarded the spike. Nino flanked and killed Mireille before being killed by Ivan. Marinette then killed the remaining two opponents, tying the game once more.
Whoever lost the next round would need to force an overtime to have a chance at winning. Potato Party played more carefully, still managing to kill Chloe and Marinette, but had to retreat as Nino waited with an Odin and opened fire, a machine gun that could shred entire teams if they weren't careful. Potato Party rotated, and Adrien made sure he was able to catch them. Nino then killed Kim and Adrien fired a few shots at the advancing team before retreating. Potato Party pushed further but were delayed when Alya sniped Alix and dashed away.
Ivan managed to kill Nino, and distract Alya and Adrien, giving Mireille the opportunity to revive Kim. Their opponents pushed. Adrien fired a few shock darts while Alya threw some smoke and used an updraft to fly up and retreat. Adrien killed Ivan, forcing him to drop the spike. Adrien then retreated because he stood no chance of winning when he was being aimed at from multiple directions.
Alya then rejoined, killing Mireille, and helping Adrien kill Kim while Mylène successfully planted. Adrien quickly killed her, then defused.
With the score at 12-11, Team Miraculous was determined not to let Potato Party force an overtime. Playing cautiously, each defender barely peeked. Adrien exchanged a few gunshots with Kim and Alix. Adrien hadn't been hurt, but he knew he hit Kim and Alix based on the sounds of the game.
Marinette was able to kill Ivan and Mireille, forcing the other team to rethink their strategy. Adrien managed to kill Alix, but he ended up being killed by Kim. Kim then killed Alya and Mylène killed Marinette. Kim then planted the spike, forcing Nino to retake it.
Nino hit Kim a few times before being forced to reposition. He then waited, then went closer to the site and finished off Mylène, then he walked slowly, eventually finding Kim, and killing him. He was soon going to run out of time, but he managed to defuse the spike, winning the game.
The members of Team Miraculous jumped up in victory, giving each other hugs. They gave Nino a lot of attention for clutching the last round so that they didn't need to go into overtime.
"Good game, guys," said Kim.
"Yeah, you too," said Adrien. "It was intense."
"Yeah, it was," said Alix.
"I got the MVP this time," said Kim. "We each got the MVP, Alix."
"I feel like that was my best performance," said Ivan.
"Yeah, I wasn't feeling so useless," said Mylène.
"That means no one's back will be sore tomorrow morning," said Mireille.
Mr. Wayzz then walked onstage. "That was a close game. I was on edge the whole time. That's what people like seeing when they watch sports games. Next up is Hashira and Rainbow Brigade."
Hashira had obliterated their last opponents, but Adrien wasn't sure if it was because Hashira was strong, or their opponents were weak. He didn't know too much about everyone's skill level. He knew that Max and Kagami were the star players, but they didn't need to carry much, as the other three were also quite skilled. He was thinking that Hashira would defeat Rainbow Brigade, but he wasn't sure. Rainbow Brigade was initially on the ropes against their last opponents, but then they had an unstoppable win streak. He wondered if the next game was going to be a close one. He was guessing that both teams had the ability to go toe-to-toe with Team Miraculous and even put them on the ropes.
With the Hashira team, Max picked Killjoy, Sabrina picked Breach, Luka picked Sova, Kagami picked Sage, and Zoe picked Phoenix. On the other team, Juleka picked Neon, Rose picked Jett, Marc picked Sage, Nathaniel picked Skye, and Aurore picked Reyna. Hashira was attacking first.
The first two rounds were victories for Hashira. Rainbow Brigade had put up a fight in the second after getting demolished in the first. They then managed to strike back in the third round.
Adrien made sure to pay attention to each player, and he was sure his teammates were doing the same, especially Marinette. He noticed the mix of aggression and well-calculated moves from Hashira. He would want to target Max or Kagami, but eventually they would catch on in a few rounds. He also didn't know who they were going to pick in the next game if they won.
In the fourth round, Hashira had played slowly. They had divided their team into two groups. They pushed slowly, trying to kill their opponents before planting. The site was clearer once they killed two opponents and still had five team members. They then planted the spike and won that round by eliminating their remaining opponents.
It was clear that Juleka was the best player on Rainbow Brigade. She was the MVP of the last game and was currently leading in kills, having had to clutch in the third round.
The fifth round was a win for Rainbow Brigade. They had successfully repelled the attackers, forcing them to rotate and all were eliminated before they had the chance to plant the spike.
The sixth round was also surprising for most people, as Nathaniel had gotten three kills, impressing all the players there. Marc and Rose got a kill each, giving their team a victory and tying the game.
"Well played, tomato boy!" said Max.
"I didn't know how I hit all those shots," Nathaniel replied.
Hashira won the next three rounds. Rainbow Brigade then won the round after that. It wasn't a very close game, but sometimes, Adrien was on the edge, wondering who would win the next round. He was waiting to see which team he will face next. Clearly, the stronger team was going to win, but regardless of the outcome, the team he will face will be a strong one.
It was the last round in the half. It seemed like Rainbow Brigade had a good chance since they had their ultimate abilities. Hopefully, Juleka, Rose, and Aurore would live long enough to use them effectively.
Once Hashira had committed to pushing a site, Rainbow Brigade rushed over to defend it. Hashira could still retreat, though. Juleka, Rose, and Aurore activated their ults simultaneously. Rose scored a headshot with a throwing knife, forcing her target to drop the spike. Aurore scored a kill, then turned invisible while moving closer, enabling Juleka to move in and kill two more opponents while Rose killed the last one.
"Great knife skills!" Juleka gave her girlfriend a fist bump.
The score was now 7-5, showing that Rainbow Brigade wasn't completely helpless.
Rainbow Brigade won the pistol round. Juleka had managed to get three kills using a Classic, the free pistol. They also planted the spike, so they were going to have a good number of credits.
They won the round after that, tying the game again. They won another round, briefly taking the lead before Hashira took it back.
In the next round, Rainbow Brigade attempted to push forward. They were delayed when Marc had to destroy a turret. They were delayed again by shock darts. When they finally pushed, Marc and Aurore were picked off. They then pushed again, being detected by Luka's scouting dart, then weakened by his ult. Zoe then used her ult, killing the remaining three without needing to go back to her original body. Nathaniel had been vulnerable as he was planting the spike when their opponents attacked, and Zoe killed all three of them.
"That was really hot," Luka turned to Zoe.
"I agree," said Max. "That play was fire."
"Well, Luka helped with that," Zoe said.
Rainbow Brigade never retook the lead, only winning one more round. The score was now 12-9, and Hashira hoped to land the killing blow.
Rainbow Brigade was pushing a site, though some of them were watching flanks and were ready in case they needed to rotate. In their attempt to push, they managed to kill Max and Luka, but Rose was killed in the process. The defense was so aggressive that they decided to rotate, with Juleka and Nathaniel staying to keep some defenders occupied. Hashira didn't know who had the spike. Kagami was busy fighting Juleka and Nathaniel. Sabrina and Zoe were ready to catch the attackers on the other site.
Marc and Aurore managed to kill Sabrina and severely wound Zoe. While Zoe retreated to heal, Marc planted the spike and Aurore waited for Zoe to come back. Now that the spike was planted, the attackers waited for Juleka and Nathaniel to go to the site. Nathaniel had been killed soon after, and Kagami resurrected Max. They then joined Zoe.
After a brief fight, Zoe killed Juleka, then the three defenders moved in from different directions. Aurore and Nathaniel were easily killed as the defenders moved in to defuse the spike, defeating Rainbow Brigade. Max was the MVP because he had the most kills.
The members of Hashira exchanged hugs, high fives, and fist bumps. Their opponents approached them to offer their congratulations.
Adrien was feeling a bit tense. That game wasn't close, but Rainbow Brigade had still put up a great fight. He was anticipating a fierce battle for the last game, as they were clearly the two best teams.
"What a game," said Mr. Wayzz. "And now, it's time for the final between Hashira and Team Miraculous."
The next players had a chance to use the bathroom or get a drink. Adrien was a bit calmer now after drinking some water.
They had now set everything up for the game. Everyone was still stretching their legs while waiting for it to start.
Eventually, it was time to choose agents. Adrien picked Yoru, Marinette picked Neon, Alya picked Harbor, Nino picked Skye, and Chloe picked Reyna. Max picked KAY/O, Sabrina picked Fade, Luka picked Viper, Kagami picked Neon, and Zoe picked Chamber. Team Miraculous was attacking first. They were playing on a map called Icebox.
Adrien decided not to buy anything. He was now more focused on the game and was even more ready to cooperate with Marinette now that both liked each other and were going to be more than friends soon.
They were pushing A site. Nino was using his scouting abilities. Once they moved closer, Nino and Chloe moved to the front, using their abilities to blind their opponents. Marinette moved behind Chloe, killing one enemy that was standing on high ground. Adrien killed a defender soon after, letting Alya plant. Nino was then killed by a single headshot from Kagami. Adrien and Chloe watched the flank. Adrien then killed another opponent, then Chloe killed the last one.
Adrien had enough credits to buy all his abilities and a Spectre. Saving money had paid off this time, as we was able to kill two opponents and survive the round.
The second round was another win for Team Miraculous. Each member had gotten a kill, despite losing Alya and Chloe, therefore getting a team ace.
The third round was a win for Hashira. Each player was on edge the whole time, not having a moment to relax. They were all at the edge of their seats. Adrien leaned forward like a cat about to pounce. He had killed Luka, then a few moments later, he killed Max. The spike was planted but Adrien's opponents were quickly advancing. It was up to him and Marinette. They were defeated after a short fight. Kagami and Zoe had survived, and Zoe defused.
Team Miraculous managed to bounce back. They pushed through the middle of the map, intending to go to B site. Adrien was sneaking through the tunnels, killing two defenders as he walked through. Site B was clear, so Marinette used her super speed to run and plant. They then took up defensive positions to wait for their opponents to attempt a retake.
Despite their best efforts to hide, Alya was found and killed my Max, who had been quick and accurate with his shots. Adrien whipped around and killed Max, who was running out in the open. Soon, Luka was the only one left, while Adrien still had Marinette and Chloe. They did their best to stall Luka until Adrien had a good angle and went for the kill.
It was a close game, and it was more suspenseful for the players than the spectators. They could only get a break between rounds, where they talked quietly and changed their strategies.
Team Miraculous had a balance of aggressive and slow strategies so that the other team couldn't predict their moves.
It was the ninth round, and they were tied. They decided to wait ten seconds before moving forward. They let the scouts on the other team use their abilities then pushed, knowing that it would be a while before they could reuse them. They then moved towards B, moving quickly so that they wouldn't get sniped. Max was using an Operator, so they did their best not to peek, instead trying to blind their opponents.
Alya used her abilities to create walls of water, blocking their opponents' sight. That gave her the opportunity to plant. Soon, her and Adrien were killed when the other team pushed in. The other team took little damage. Marinette did a bit of damage but got sniped by Max. However, that gave Chloe an opening to kill Max and unlock her ult. She then used it.
Chloe spotted Luka and killed him with one headshot. She then used her invisibility powers to quickly relocate. She went around a corner and killed Kagami while her back was turned. She was then hit by Zoe. Chloe killed Zoe and healed herself. She then killed Sabrina who had tried to defuse. Chloe had just aced the round in front of everyone, giving Team Miraculous the lead.
"Wow, Chloe, you're so cracked!" said Marinette.
"YASS QUEEN!" Alya exclaimed, giving Chloe a hug.
"I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee," said Chloe. "Now bow before me."
"Sheesh," said Max.
"W Queen Chloe," said Luka.
It was the last round in the half and Team Miraculous was behind on points. This was their chance to tie the game.
Alya decided to play a trick. She and Adrien were going to fake an attack on A site. Adrien used his invisibility powers to scout while Alya made noise, killing two enemies along the way. Adrien then finished using his ult while Marinette planted. He placed a portal and waited.
At the back of the map, he saw Max and killed him, before teleporting. He had to move after making a kill so that his other opponents didn't find him easily.
"You want to play? Let's play?" the voice of Zoe's character had filled his ears and could be heard by everyone on Adrien's team. He guessed that Zoe was at the back of B site, so he moved slowly but carefully. He could be running so fast that he could get caught and have no time to react.
He saw Kagami come out of a doorway and quickly killed her before pressing forward.
Zoe took a shot. She clearly had perfect timing and Marinette and Chloe lined up for a bit, because she had killed them both with a single bullet, having hit them both in the head.
"Boom! Headshot!" Zoe did her best impression of Caitlyn from League of Legends, then she teleported away.
"Oof," said Marinette. "That's a lot of damage."
"Ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!" Chloe yelled.
Adrien moved through what he thought was Zoe's position. He saw Zoe running over to the spike. She began defusing and Nino had moved in, but Zoe quickly let go and killed Nino. Adrien moved slowly, deciding to play safely, with Alya coming in nearby. The spike ended up detonating, as Adrien was more focused on stalling Zoe.
It was a suspenseful first half of the game and everyone was on edge. Each team came up with strategies to take the lead.
This time, Adrien bought a Ghost. His aiming skills were with him during that round, as he killed four enemies and Nino killed the last one who was far from Adrien.
They ended up losing the round after that, though, and the game was tied once again.
Team Miraculous could still afford good weapons. Each of them was armed with a Vandal.
Adrien pushed through the middle, hoping to catch an opponent from behind. He managed to kill one without being spotted, then retreated so that his opponents couldn't predict his next move. He then went to B site, as his teammates told him that A site was clear. He used his flash abilities to blind his opponents. Nino and Chloe had already been killed and he was alone on the site.
With a set of moves that would make Rambo proud, Adrien picked off each opponent who walked in. He didn't peek too much, preferring to take cover. He still didn't take too much damage. He didn't want a kill to cost him his health.
The other team had planted and Alya and Marinette were still moving slowly and carefully. He placed a portal, then a few seconds later, faked a teleportation. He then moved forward, killing another opponent. Marinette had been killed when she tried to enter the flank. Adrien distracted the two remaining opponents while Alya tried to defuse. She managed to get it halfway done before she was killed. Adrien quickly killed the last two opponents after they just killed Alya, getting an ace, then defused. His ult was now ready.
"Let's go, Adrien!" said Marinette.
Adrien received a fist bump from both Chloe and Marinette while Alya applauded him.
"Let's get it, dude!" said Nino.
Adrien played more carefully in the next round. The other team probably didn't know what hit them in that last round, so maybe they were adapting.
Kagami had killed Marinette and Chloe. Adrien was fighting Max head-on. Max didn't hit Adrien once, letting Adrien have the kill.
"Are you sure you're not using your 'Max' potential?" Adrien taunted.
"Just watch us clap back," said Luka.
Team Miraculous won that round. Hashira's comeback started the following round.
"Thunder breathing, first form," Kagami said as she activated her ult. "Thunderclap and flash!"
Kagami ran around the map, shooting lightning at her opponents and killing Adrien, Marinette, and Alya. She was then killed by Nino, but her team still had the advantage and they wiped out their opponents after planting the spike.
"We need to show them the real thunderclap and flash," said Marinette. Her ult was ready, and so was Adrien's.
Team Miraculous saw where their opponents were going to strike. Adrien used his flash while Marinette charged in, killing two opponents before being killed by Max. Adrien planned to save his ult for the next round. His opponents were aggressive and had killed him quickly. Sabrina planted the spike, then they killed the remaining members of Adrien's team, tying the game once again at 9-9.
Hashira took the lead by winning the round after that. In the round after that, Adrien was still careful about using his ult because three of his teammates were killed quickly. He was still in the same spot, and he killed an opponent when he entered. Chloe was sniped by Zoe. Adrien had to retake the site. He snuck around, managing to kill Sabrina, but was then killed by Luka.
Adrien then used his ult in the next round. He ran forward to get behind their opponents' positions. Once his ult ran out, he killed Zoe and Max from behind. After that, his opponents caught on, and Kagami killed him with one headshot. It was another round for Hashira, as they successfully planted the spike and defended themselves.
Hashira needed to win one more round to win the game. The task of winning three rounds in a row to force an overtime seemed daunting for Team Miraculous. Marinette had suggested that they play more slowly and not peek too often. It would let Hashira plant the spike, but it was better to try and retake a site.
Each defender rarely peeked because they didn't want to risk getting sniped. From Adrien's position, he had a good angle, and was able to kill Max, who was walking to the site. Max was at the disadvantage at the time because he would need to turn quite a bit if he wanted to shoot Adrien. Max dropped the spike. Adrien had to move because once he started shooting, his opponents could guess where he was standing. His whole team kept watch on the spike while hiding.
They let their opponents plant. They then approached from multiple angles and retook the site. Only Nino and Chloe were killed.
The next round was another win for Team Miraculous. They were still in the game. In that round, Alya and Chloe had successfully flanked after their team allowed their opponents to push forward.
There was one more round. Either Team Miraculous forces an overtime, or Hashira wins.
"If you have your ult, use it," said Marinette.
"Only if I survive long enough," said Chloe.
"Marinette, let me know when we will thunderclap and flash," said Adrien.
They allowed Hashira to push. They killed Alya, Nino, and Chloe before planting, but they also lost Sabrina. Once they planted, Luka used his ult to cover the site in a blanket of poison. Adrien walked in to blind the enemies. Marinette killed one that was outside the pit. Adrien jumped in and killed Luka, destroying the pit, and exposing the site, and Marinette killed the rest. Adrien defused the spike. His heart has been racing as the spike was getting closer to detonating. He couldn't believe that he had been quick enough to spot Luka and kill him. Relief set in, as his team hadn't lost the game yet. They had a second wind. It was like the team was hanging on the edge of a cliff, but they managed to pull themselves back up.
"Well done, guys," said Chloe.
"I thought we were gonna be toast," said Marinette.
"Wow," Mr. Wayzz commented. "We're going into overtime. This is gonna be exciting."
"Yeah, we miraculously survived," said Adrien, earning a few laughs and groans from the crowd.
During overtime, one team must win twice in a row. Team Miraculous was back to being the attacker. They planned on pushing slowly. They bought all their abilities and a Vandal.
They were repelled by Hashira, and Adrien's team was on the ropes again, but in the following round, they miraculously defended themselves.
Team Miraculous won the next round, then lost the following round.
The round after that went to Team Miraculous.
It was the thirtieth round. Team Miraculous had barely won the previous one, and now had to make another good defensive play. They were holding angles. Their opponents would need to walk and look around. If the defenders were quick, they would move.
After Alya was sniped, Adrien managed to kill two opponents, forcing them to drop the spike. They then watched the spike. Marinette sprinted to flank, then started walking quietly. Marinette killed Luka, who was watching the flank. Max and Sabrina were left. Max killed Chloe, but he was left open, and Adrien killed him. He then quickly killed Sabrina, and the game ended. The score was 16-14. Adrien was the MVP with 42 kills. Max was Hashira's MVP with 40.
"Let's go, bugaboo!" said Adrien.
"Great job, kitty," said Marinette.
The exhausted players slumped in their chairs. Relief set in for Team Miraculous before they began jumping for joy.
"Pound it!" the team exchanged fist bumps and hugs.
They then stood up to meet their opponents. Their opponents congratulated them, exchanging fist bumps and hugs.
"Good game, guys," said Adrien.
"Yeah, you too," said Max.
"It was a legendary battle," said Luka.
"We had some epic sniper duels, right, Zoe?" Chloe asked.
"Yeah, I had my eye on you most of the time," said Zoe. "But hey, we both didn't bottom frag."
Zoe had been the sniper for her team and was great at it, especially on defense. She came in third place for her team when it came to the number of kills that she got.
"You had me on the ropes a couple of times, Nino," said Kagami. "You surprise me."
"Yeah, I surprise me too," said Nino.
"I think I hit more headshots than ever before," said Alya.
"I promise you I wasn't throwing," said Sabrina. "I had some good rounds, but I had the least kills."
"Well, it was quite an intense game," said Marinette. "This is where our training has led us."
Mr. Wayzz made his way to the stage. "It was an intense game. The prize goes to Team Miraculous!"
Everyone cheered as Mr. Wayzz handed them an envelope. They opened it and split the prize money between them. Each of them got 40 euros. It wasn't a lot of money to someone like Adrien or Chloe, but they still wanted to split the money fairly. No one was currently lacking money, but out of everyone in the team, Nino valued the prize money the most.
"Well, we should make a video revealing ourselves," said Adrien. "Some people may still not be convinced that I'm Chat Noir even though they saw me play like him."
"I can't believe we both planned on revealing our identities at the same time," said Marinette.
"Yeah, I wanted to reveal myself to confess to you," said Adrien. "Anyway, I'm sure I'll gain a lot of subscribers quickly once I reveal myself on YouTube, since I'm more famous as a model than as a youtuber."
Slowly, everyone left the theater. Adrien exited with his friends. It was nearing 6pm and it was dark and cold outside.
"So, do you want to do anything?" Adrien asked.
"Yeah, we can use some of our prize money to celebrate our victory," said Marinette.
They could hang out for about one more hour. They weren't too stressed, even though they had one more day of school for the week.
Adrien and Marinette had to deal with getting more attention now that they revealed their identities. Adrien was used to getting unwanted attention because he was a model. At least the students were decent, and both Adrien and Marinette just had to explain that they were going to make a video revealing their identities if anyone had doubts. They also had to shoo away people who were obviously attracted to them.
They started talking with their friends again once they got away from the crowd and went outside.
"Okay guys, so you just technically got together earlier today, am I right?" Chloe asked.
"Yeah," said Adrien.
"Guys, you gotta spill!" Alya said excitedly.
"Okay, so we talked after we won the first game," said Marinette. "Everything was so easy to clear up once I told him that I rejected Luka."
"Yeah, well I started the conversation by just going with the slow and telling her how I felt," said Adrien. "I didn't know she rejected Luka, and I was ready to let her go, and I said that I would be happy for her and Luka if they got together."
"Then, he basically asked me out and I said yes," said Marinette. "Though he wants to talk to my parents first."
"I feel like it's the right thing to do," said Adrien. "But I'm sure my father would want to talk to you too."
"Finally, you guys are gonna get together!" said Alya. "We've been waiting for this moment for ages."
The winners chose to eat somewhere that wasn't too expensive so that they didn't blow all their prize money in one night. Adrien relaxed as he hung out and laughed with his friends, just celebrating their victory. He was in good spirits as he returned home. He had been exhausted, but was also feeling good, and was happy about how the tournament went. He just didn't feel like playing a video game for a while, as he had trained hard, and he ended up winning the tournament with an excellent performance.
