Chapter 3 : A rough ride home.

Carslisle p.o.v.

I entered the trough the huge doors of the building in which the Volturi hides themselves, Jasper followed me closely. We were awaited by Felix and Demetri. Felix had this cheap grin on his face knowing well enough what they just had done to my kids was wrong!

Take me to them, I demanded.

Why do you think they would want to talk to you? You have no business here! Demetri replied rather harsh.

The position I held within the Volturi is something you can only dream of. Let's see what they think of the tone you are using against us. Now lead the way gentlemen.

I kept a cool to my voice but was rather frustrated to be here, I also wasn't in the mood for Demetri's antics.

The two looked at each other and then Felix started leading the way and Demetri followed suit behind us. We where quickly descending the stairs and entered an elevator.

We rode down and when the doors opened Alice was in front of us. Her face filled with sadness and disgust.

Jazz, I.. I.. I'm so glad you are here... I almost... I almost did something horrible.

Jasper stepped out of the elevator and wrapped Alice into his arms sending calm waves to her.

Go ahead Carlisle, I'll stay here with Alice. We'll join you, Bella and Edward after your conversation.

I walked trough another set of doors entering the main hall. The signs of the struggle that Alice had informed me about where all erased. The room was meticulously cleaned and restored.

Marcus, Aro, Caius I spoke to them in a low but firm voice. I thought we had a better understanding than this. Years I have spend in this place by your side and when I decide after years of loyal service that I wanted to go out and change my life. You force my children to change one another.

I just saw Alice, disgust and fear and sadness looming in her eyes. She only wanted to protect her sister, she almost killed her. That's on you!

Carslisle, so long and your first words are of anger. We had no choice.

Your family decided to break our rules. You told a human our secret and should have known how this would end. Did you really expect someone like her. Whom above all mated with your son! Would stand by idly. This was the only outcome. You knew it. Alice knew it from the moment they met. And deep inside Edward and Bella did so too.

The futile attempt of your family to leave her behind and try to forget about her. Didn't even have the guts to change her and take her with you. I say I haven't seen anything more pathetic then the attempt to forget her.

Deep inside my guilt boiled up, I knew that if I resisted the plans of Edward to leave so suddenly this all could have ended so different. Now I'm here in Volterra where my children are in pain.

Aro! I said. I thought you and I had more of a bond and that we could have talked this over. You could have at least called me to ask me what this is all about to give me the chance to come here and change Bella myself.

Now you've forced our hand. My wife and children at home are in distress not knowing what is going on here. How can you let this happen.

Carslisle, if you wanted this to go different then you should've never confided in a human. Our rules are clear.

In a distant room I heard screams and cries of anguish.

Bella, her change was surely hurting.

I would like to see my daughter and son now. I need to see in which stage her change is and talk to my son. Call Alice and Jasper in here, then show me the way to them.

In a second Jasper and Alice were by my side. We were being shown the way by another one of the volturi's guard members.

Jasper p.o.v.

Carslisle, Alice and I were being shown trough a maze of hallways. The screams were growing louder and louder.

I kept sending calming waves to Alice whom was getting more and more distressed as she was nearing the room where Bella and Edward were staying.

We arrived at a large door being guarded by Jane, one of the guards most fearsome and powerfull members. She didn't even bother to shed a look our way. With nu hesitation Carslisle entered the room to find Edward sitting on the bed with Bella trashing in his arms.

The change was already nearing its end as we took 24 hours to arrive here and Bella had been bitten 29 hours ago. Her shoulder and arm were already healed and her facial features and body were almost fully enhanced. It should be another 4 to 6 hours and it will be over.

Take a seat you two! We need to talk.

Carslisle was not looking too happy.

So this was the third chapter and we saw some of carslisle's fatherly instincts come out.

Next chapter they will leave volterra but not without a warning from the Volturi and a foreboding messages from their leaders.
