Chapter Nine

Back topside, the Hamato Clan, April, Casey, Tyroth, Sephie and Kate were watching the rest of the concert as they played their last tunes.

The soundtracks to Avatar, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, ET the Extra-terrestrial, The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Gone with the Wind and many more were played and the mutants enjoyed all of it.

By the time the concert was winding down, it was the early hours of the morning and the Hamato Clan had finished their picnic and were ready to head back.

"I wonder how the kids have gotten on back in the lair?" Donatello mused.

"I'm sure they've been good." Leonardo said "I hope…" he muttered under his breath.

"Well, Needless to say, that was a splendid evening!" Sephie grinned "And how lucky were Tyroth, Kate and I to be here when it happened?"

"Totally!" Kate cheered "I already can't wait for another concert, whether it be here or Chicago!"

"I'm sure there will be more!" April smiled "I just thought this would be a good night out for us, and I'm glad we had no incidents!"

"Well, you can thank Big T for that!" Michelangelo grinned gesturing to Tyroth "One look at him and all the enemies will run for cover!"

"Too true!" Tyroth said proudly.

"Very true!" Splinter agreed "But now it is time for us to return home and see how the children are doing."

The others were happy to agree, although Raphael looked a little worried.

"I do hope Pandora hasn't gotten up to mischief." He spoke anxiously.

"I'm sure all's fine honey." Monalisa reassured her mate, "Yes she might be reckless and naughty, but she's not a bad girl."

"Well, your mate has a right to be a little concerned Mona." Donatello said "You know how Pandora can lead the others astray."

The other grown-ups couldn't help but agree.

"Like the time she got them to hide in Louie's large soup pots in the Mutopia kitchen!" Sephie remembered.

Michelangelo laughed.

"Oh yeah! That was a sight, Louie chasing them out of the kitchen with a wooden spoons and ladles in his hands!" he said, "He was so mad!"

"Or how about the time she and Kemeko ventured topside without adult supervision?" Donatello said "Oh boy…"

"Well, both got such a telling off, especially Pandora, they never did it again, so hopefully all is well down there." Monalisa said confidently, yet her eyes wandered a little.

"Well, we can only find out when we return!" Tyroth said "Come on troops!" he then lead the way back towards home and the others followed.

It didn't take long to arrive back at the lair after they had managed to get back to the manhole where they had gotten topside and said goodbye to April and Casey before they went back to April's Shop and apartment.

When the grown-ups entered the lair, they could see the lair was how it was when they left it, much to their relief yet they saw in the TV area that the televisions were on.

"Well, at least the lairs still in one piece and pretty much how we left it!" Leonardo said in a pleased tone.

"Yeah!" Michelangelo agreed but he yelped as he felt something soft and crunchy under his feet and he looked down to see he had stepped on some popcorn.

"Well…. not quite how it was left." He muttered as he shook his foot.

"Where are the kids?" Raphael asked then Splinter pointed to the TV area where the TVS were on and had gone back to the main menu screen from where they had been watching a film which they recognised as the 'Bumblebee' Movie.

Tyroth chuckled and shook his head.

"Three guesses Trickster wanted to watch that!" he smiled.

The gang then snuck over to the large sofa and what they saw made their hearts melt and they couldn't help but gush at what they saw!

There on the sofa, the children were fast asleep half covered by blankets draped over their legs.

Pandora was sitting upright with her onesie hood over her head, and her head was laid on Kemeko's who was resting on her shoulder, and they were holding hands.

Freya was resting against Pandora's other shoulder and Loki was laying with his head on his sister's lap and Freya's hand was on his shoulder, her fingers gently stroking it in her sleep.

"Awww, isn't that the sweetest sight?" Sephie whispered.

"Yeah! For sure!" Donatello said quickly whipping out his phone and taking some photos of the precious sight.

"Reminds me of the time we found them all asleep in the rec room in Mutopia!" Tyroth smiled "Rattletrap showed us."

The others smiled at each other and nodded in agreement.

A few years back the Hamato Clan and the Chicago Knights had gone topside for a concert in Chicago, and they had given Sonia the job of looking after the younger children and when they had returned, they had found them in a similar situation curled up fast asleep in front of the TV.

"Talk about déjà vu!" Michelangelo said and Kate rested her head on his shoulder gushing at the sight of the children.

"What should we do?" Monalisa asked "Do you think it's okay to leave them there? Wouldn't be right to wake them now to move them."

"I agree with you Monalisa." Splinter said quietly "Let's let them sleep here for now, and we shall not disturb them."

"Good idea Master Splinter." Leonardo said, "In the meantime, we better clean up the table and turn the TV's off."

The others agreed and Donatello and Michelangelo turned off the televisions and tided away the DVDs.

Monalisa, Kate and Sephie quietly and carefully picked up the bowls of snacks and the glasses as well as the plastic bottles of soda pop.

There were still some snacks left which they carefully put back into the containers they came from or in plastic boxes so they wouldn't be wasted as well as put the leftover soda pop in the fridge.

Raphael and Leonardo picked up the crumbs and food that had fallen with a dustpan and brush and Tyroth and Splinter fetched some extra blankets and pillows for the children.

After they completed their tasks, they watched the children again for a while.

Donatello took more pictures.

"So, what shall we do now?" Michelangelo asked "Well, TV and gaming is out the window." He sighed.

"No, it's not!" Kate smiled "We could go in the kid's playroom and borrow their TV in there."

"That's a good idea!" Raphael smirked.

The others agreed.

"For sure!" Donatello said, "We can watch or play a few games in there and not disturb the kids, we'll need to keep the noise down though."

"You go ahead my children." Splinter smiled "I shall watch over the young ones." He smiled "Although I shall need some Jasmine tea and muffins, as well as a good book to pass the time until they wake up!"

"No problem Master!" Leonardo said, "I'll put on the tea."

"And I'll get your books from your quarters." Monalisa offered.

"Thank you." Splinter said gratefully.

The turtles, Monalisa, Tyroth, Sephie and Kate took it in turns to give each child a kiss before going to the playroom as well as get tea, snacks, and some books for Splinter whilst he watched over his sleeping grandchildren.

The children didn't stir as they were deeply asleep.

After five minutes, Splinter was sitting in the armchair with his favourite Jasmine tea, a couple of honey muffins and his books whilst his sons, adopted daughter and their friends went to play some games in the playroom.

He smiled a soft smile as he looked upon his sleeping grandchildren and felt pleased, proud as well as confident that they had had fun together in the lair as well as behaved and he was sure that in future they could be trusted to be left alone in the lair next time the grown-ups decided to go topside and he wanted to join them if it was something he would enjoy.

As much as he loved babysitting the children, the wise rat was getting on in years and they were getting more and more energetic and it was hard for him to keep up but now they were older, it was nice not to have to constantly watch them.

Sipping his tea, Splinter watched the children and rested back in his chair looking forward to a few hours of quiet time until the grandchildren woke up or his children came out of the playroom.

Awww! The group comes home and they find the children curled up and fast asleep in front of the TV! So cute!

And thus ends Home Alone! I hope you enjoyed it!

Now back to 'My Saviour' and '13 Candles' hoping to get going with those two before I work on anything else! But no promises!

See you next time! Peace out!
