Chapter 6.- Steak

Steak was a food Arizona had grown up very familiar with, Daniel Robbins loved a meaty steak, medium rare, as every Robbins had to have their steak. The best way to eat any steak he would insist.

Over the holidays she'd watched her mom cook them and it really didn't look hard. The fries were in the oven, the steak was on the side, the pan heating up, with a small amount of oil. She gently massaged in the salt and pepper, before turning down the heat, adding the steak, turning it after 3 minutes. 5 minutes later the steak was on the plate with the cooked fries.

Steak and chips, she took a bite, ignoring the blood that escaped, that was good, it meant she'd got the cook just right. Of course, she was trying to watch her red meat and had opted for a pork steak, much less fat, and a healthier option. Pigs were kinda close to cows, right?

Finishing her pork steak and fries Arizona did a happy dance, her first, ever, successful cooked meal.

24 hours later Arizona was puking her guts out over a toilet bowl her stomach cramping worse than ever. She shivered as her girlfriend Megan barged in, checking her temperature 40.3.

"Arizona you look like crap, I'm calling 9-11" she decided,

"I'm chief resident I can't get sick" Arizona moaned, vomiting again, Megan ignored her dialling the number.

In the ER, her attending Norman McHale met her.

"Don't worry Robbins we'll get you sorted" he promised, Arizona nodded mortified everyone was seeing her like this.

"What have you eaten in the last few days?" Normal questioned, Arizona blushed, not wanting to admit her unhealthy diet to her boss.

"Last night I had steak and fries, medium rare, for lunch I had a doughnut, breakfast was leftover pizza" she confessed. Megan frowned,

"Wait, the steak in the fridge, that was yours?" she asked, Arizona nodded, "And you ate it medium rare" she confirmed, again Arizona nodded,

"It was pork!" she revealed dramatically, again Arizona nodded, not seeing the problem. "You can't eat pork that's undercooked," Megan exclaimed,

"But it was steak" Arizona replied confused,

"Oh Arizona," Megan laughed along with Norman.

"At least your more capable in the OR than the kitchen" he joked.

It was that moment Arizona knew, she was going to have to leave Hopkins and move far, far away, Hawaii, perhaps, or Seattle.

I was so ill after this one, I work in the ER and my friends still make fun of me for this one,
