Hello, bots and cons. Centurion Maximo here and welcome back to Pokeformers. It took me a while thinking about how to start this chapter, but I think I finally have an idea how to do it. Anyway, the last chapter was the prologue with the Predacons and Maximals finding and landing on Earth. In turn, they shortly scanned new forms on the Pokemon inhabiting the entire planet.
Now, I have no OC/Story Contributors for this fic yet, and I hope that changes in the future.
Now, onto the action!
*Earth. Hoenn Region. Maximal Base. 12:00 pm*
It had only been a couple of days since the Transformers landed on Earth and the Maximal group were already hard at work, searching the planet for Predacon signatures. They wanted to catch them before they did any harm to this planet. "Anything, guys?" Kung Feather asked, his tone serious and alert.
"Nothing so far, I'm afraid, Kung Feather." Frostshell answered, disappointed in himself for not finding any Predacons.
"You know what? We should go out and explore this world so as to better integrate with it." Shadefang reasoned, remaining optimistic.
"That's actually a really good idea." Noxiwing agreed, smiling. "Let's do that."
A few minutes later, the four Maximals were outside their ship in the Hoenn Region. They didn't know it yet, but they were close to Petalburg City, in fact, they were in Petalburg Woods. Barely any sun was able to reach the forest floor, so it was mostly dark. The four Maximals were a little in awe at how much organic matter were in these woods alone. "So, these are the life-forms known as trees." Noxiwing walked up to one and almost touched it when he saw a Slakoth just lazing about on a tree branch. "What is that?" He was becoming more and more interested by the nano-klik.
Kung Feather scanned the creature for a second before coming up with an answer. "According to my momentary scan, it is called a Slakoth, a Pokemon."
"A Pokemon? Is that the name of the creatures we've assumed the forms of?" Shadfang asked out loud, looking at himself despite still being in robot mode as there wasn't anything else around, but these Pokemon.
Slakoth, looking as if it were off in its own world, was slowly crawling forward across the tree branch, its eyes on the collection of leaves on the other end. "Slaaaaakooooothh" it says in a dreamy tone
"Fascinating." Noxiwing commented. "I just did another scan on this thing and realized it just said its name which is Slakoth." He was becoming more curious.
Finally the Slacker Pokemon noticed an odd sound down below and in an odd move purposely swung itself upside down easily keeping on the branch with its arms and legs. It then looked up with its head which was down from its position finally noticing Noxiwing. The dull brown creature tilts its head at the sight of the Maximals, its sleepy looking eyes showing off some levels of intelligence.
"It's definitely intelligent." Frostshell observed. "There must be more Pokemon across Earth, based on the forms we scanned." Slakoth, after taken in Noxiwing, decides that its hunger is more important as it begins to shuffle back towards the leaves ignoring the Maximal be for now.
"Huh..." Shadefang muttered, eyeing the Slakoth go back to its eating. "We should explore more, outside of these woods to get more of a lay of the land."
"I agree, Shadefang, but we should also explore these woods since our ship is here. Knowing the terrain so close to our ship alone would give us an advantage." Kung Feather explained, his tone still serious. Slakoth was now at the leaves and began eating away at them at a moderate pace while still hanging upside down, paying no mind to the talking robots down below.
"I don't know if I should join you three in exploring here. I have a sudden feeling that these Pokemon have specific powers and abilities we know nothing about." Frostshell revealed.
Speaking of Noxiwing, as he kept watching Slakoth slowly eat its first leaf began to feel a suddenly weird need to sit down and rest the longer he looked at the slow sloth mon. "Oi, Noxiwing. How bout you stop looking at the Slakoth? We have exploring to do." Shadefang stated, getting a little tired of his friend just staring at the Slakoth. Slakoth was onto its second leaf of the day as Noxiwing felt himself get even more tired. Shadefang sighed. Walking over to Noxiwing he shouted "Noxiwing! Snap out of it!" This caused the Maximal to jolt up in surprise.
"Gah!" the maximal yelps in shock before turning to Shadefang and then quickly glances at the Slakoth which was still on its second leaf. "Woah, I think that thing was putting me into sleep mode."
"Well, if you're done staring at that thing, we've got exploring to do." Shadefang gestured. "Who knows if we'll encounter a Predacon very soon."
"Not at all interested in the fact that that thing had an effect on my CPU?" Noxiwing questions with what looked to be a raised eyebrow.
"Not at the moment, no. We need to focus right now. For all we know, the Predacons are doing the exact same thing right now." Shadefang brought up. Slakoth was now on its third leaf, keeping it on its claws as it began to crawl away from the leaves seemingly satisfied with its three leaf meal.
"Alright, you two. Let's get started on observations and exploration." Kung Feather reminded. "The sooner we do that, the more we can avoid detection."
"Another thing we should do is catalog any other Pokemon we lay optics upon. Who knows? Gathering data on them could be very useful." Noxiwing reasoned.
"You have a point there, Noxiwing." Kung Feather agreed, impressed with Noxiwing's idea. "Why don't you be in charge of this catalog?"
"Sure thing sir!" he then makes a little data bank section in his mind for making notes. "Slakoth, slow and seemingly defenseless but has the power to make those who watch it sleepy." he notes aloud.
"Okay, so we've already started thanks to that Slakoth." Shadefang commented. Speaking of the Maximals, they took one last look at the slow pokemon and noticed that it was leaning against the three sitting on the branch having fallen asleep after eating its third leaf.
"Well, that's one. Now, let's continue with our new objective." Shadefang said, wanting to get on with it.
"Yes. Let's." Kung Feather said. With that, the four Maximals went to explore. Shadefang came across a Shroomish which looked at him, but didn't really move to attack. "Noxiwing, I found another Pokemon."
The Shroomish stared at the two maximals as Noxiwing came over its face, a resting grumpy expression. He tries to scan it as the creature stares the two down. Rustling its brown frills as it growls a little bit as if warning the two to not get any closer. Noxiwing seemed to understand this and stayed his distance. "Don't worry, little guy. I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm just gonna scan you." Shroomish however simply growls its name and keeps rustling its frills having no trust for these strangers as it keeps staring at the two maximals while something that looks like powder begins to lightly bounce off of its body.
"I think we should back away from this thing." Shadefang whispered, not wanting to get his with whatever powder was coming off the Shroomish's body. "You got enough data yet?"
"Shroomish. A sentient mushroom creature, has spores on its body that can cause a variety of effects when touched or inhaled. Behavior is both aggressive and distrusting." Noxiwing noted before suddenly he stood up straight looking shocked. "Uh... yeah let's back up slowly." he then adds as he carefully points behind the shroomish causing Shadefang to look over and widen his optics at the many signs of dozens of hidden Shroomish all of them staring at the two menacingly.
"Yeah. Let's try to look for other Pokemon." Noxiwing said as he and Shadefang walked away from the aggressive Shroomish. "Wait, what's that?" He pointed to a Wurmple crawling up an adjacent tree. He scanned it. "A Wurmple."
The pink spikey pokémon gently walked up the tree as if walking on even ground. It paid the two maximals no heed as it minded its own business. Curious, Noxiwing got closer causing the worm pokémon to pause and look over at him. The 1ft loong pink pokemon stays still looking a little scared as the Maximal scans it. After a fairly peaceful few seconds he completed his scan, "Wurmple. A bug that lives its life in trees eating leaves and sap. Though harmless most of the time, they do have two poisonous stingers and very sticky silk for self-defense."
The Wurmple was still wary of Noxiwing, readying all of it's defenses. "Now, this Pokemon is more docile than the Shroomish."
Meanwhile, Kung Feather and Frostshell were cataloging Pokemon as well, but the two were talking more about the fact that they had chased Predacons to Earth. "I can't believe our race will enter yet another conflict because we can't let go of the past." Frostshell lamented.
"Woah!" Noxiwing then shouts, catching everyone's attention, "What is it?" Kung Feathers then asked, sounding concerned.
"I uh... I got not a new form." he then explains raising all of the eyebrows. "Hang on" he then turns to them all and says, "Beast Mode: First stage!" he shouts before his body rapidly changes, purple and green switched with pink and cream as he shrinks down into a one foot robot looking Wurmple.
"Whoa!" Shadefang exclaimed, not expecting Noxiwing to change forms so quickly. "Well, this is a thing but can you change back to the form you just were?"
"Hmmm... this is so weird. My readings currently indicate I have five different forms I can take. Noxiwing Maximize!" he then transforms into his robot mode but keeps the colonization and spikes from the Wurmple form. "I just need to find them..." he noted as he looked at his new body. He then shouts, "Third Stage!" and everyone watches as Noxiwing goes back to the purple and green look and gets his wings back.
"Well, that's very interesting. It seems that some Pokemom have more than one stage." Kung Feather said . Who knows? The rest of us might be able to do the same thing."
"Apparently, these Pokemon have made that possible." Shadefang said.
"This could work to our advantage against the Predacons." Kung Feather brought up.
Frostshell sighed with sadness in his voice. "It seems all our race knows is destruction.""But how do organics... change that drastically?" Frostshell questions. "I know we're not the biggest experts on them, but still... That should be impossible."
"Apparently, these Pokemon have made that possible." Shadefang said.
"This could work to our advantage against the Predacons." Kung Feather brought up.
Frostshell sighed with sadness in his voice. "It seems all our race knows is destruction."
"Don't start on that again." Shadefang sighs in exasperation.
"How can I not, Shadefang? It's been three centuries since the Great War, but have we moved on from that? No, we haven't. We're still consumed with war and fighting." Frostshell added, clearly tired of his race not moving on.
"Well we aren't going to fix that by complaining about it whenever you feel depressed." Shadefang snaps back, tired of Frostshell's whining, something he's done quite frequently.
"That's kind of easy for you to say since you're young. You're not like me who's seen what the Predacons did on Omicron!" Frostshell shouted, something about his form began reacting to his irritation. Cold was starting to emanate from his body.
Shadefang growls as she bares her fangs in instinctual reaction from being yelled at, "Stop it." Kung Feathers then says calmly giving the two disapproving looks. "I expected better from you two. We're Maximals on a distant planet far away from Cybertron on a mission to stop the Predacons from harming this world and here you two are, arguing like newborn Sparklings."
He then turns to Frostshell, "Now yes, Shadefang is younger and so his immaturity is to be expected. But Frostshell? I expect better from you." he then adds, making the ice Maximal look down at the ground in shame as the cold around them fades. Shadefang also looked at the ground embarrassed. Meanwhile Noxiwing felt like the very odd third wheel caught in the middle of this. "Frostshell, it would help if you try not to lament on the past so much. It is what it is." Kung Feather said sternly.
"But-"
"Listen. I know how you feel. You know, I do. But tell me. What will lamenting tragedy do for you?" he then asks gently.
Frostshell didn't really have an answer except "Nothing." He said sadly.
"Exactly. Nothing except constant pain. If you must vent your frustrations. Then I will let you do so alone with me." Kung Feather then offers.
Frostshell sighed. "Okay." That was all he had to say for the moment.
Noxiwing shuffles a bit, feeling very uncomfortable. He was never good in these types of situations and thus took the moment to try to find another Pokémon to study and it wasn't long before he spotted a purple and round creature with red eyes and spikes jutting out as it was stuck between two large branches. A cocoon pokémon, Cascoon. "Oooh, what are you?" He scanned the Cascoon and suddenly felt the same surge he got when he scanned the Wurmple. "Whoa. Beast Mode! Second Stage!" Within nano-kliks, he became just like the Cascoon he just scanned. "Wow! I have the set of Pokemon for my forms! This is amazing!" But then he got a new message in his data bank. "Dustox Line Complete. Wurmple capable of split evolution. Two more forms to collect." Noxiwing stares at this in awe, he got rather lucky picking a pokemon with so many forms.
The other three Maximals walked over. "I see you now have three forms in your arsenal." Kung Feather commented. "That's good. That'll be an advantage. Now, should we continue exploring these woods, or should we venture outwards?"
"My scanners indicate I have two more forms to find but I feel like as we go through the woods to get out we'll find all sorts of mons regardless." Noxiwing explains before saying, "Noxiwing, Maximize!" before changing into what looked to be a very beautiful robot mode. Smooth purple chrome with cool spikes coming out of the joints.
"Fair enough. So, let's move out of the woods and see if we're close to a city with humans. Before any of you ask, I know what humans are form Autobot texts." Kung Feather silenced his three comrades before they could say anything.
"Did those texts say anything about Pokemon?" Noxiwing then asks as they all began to walk onwards.
"No. This may be an alternate Earth from the one the Autobots and Decepticons crash-landed on. Regardless, in honor of our Autobot ancestors, we will protect life no matter what." Kung Feather clenched a fist as he said those words. Everyone nodded in agreement as they continued onwards and just as Noxiwing had hoped he found another pokemon as part of his line, it looked almost identical to Cascoon but it was white with lighter red eyes. He quickly scanned it and tested out his new form both as a pokemon and robot mode. "Hmmm, Cascoon has a harder shell with better quality silk while Silcoon can absorb water and has incredible eyesight." He then noted in a fascinated tone.
"You found another form in your Pokemon's line?" Shadefang asked, becoming a little curious since Noxiwing had three forms so quickly.
"Yes!" Noxiwing cheers, "The mon I chose can split and evolve from Wurmple into two different sets. I mean come on, look at this incredible white shine I got now." he points out, showing up the shiny white armor.
"That's awesome! You'll clearly be the most versatile of all of us for a while!" Shadefang cheered.
"I've learned a lot from all of these scans. Pokemon are capable of varying types of evolution. Some have three stages, others two, and a few have different forms they can take even. Split evolution is the most fascinating." Noxiwing noted, "Ha! This really tickles the researcher in me!"
"I see. Well, we'd better catch up with Kung Feather and Frostshell. We've gotta see the terrain here." Shadefang then ran to catch up with the other two Maximals, Noxiwing following close behind.
Soon the lot could see an open field and their sensors could even pick up on signs of seawater being nearby. "We're almost out of here." Kung Feather noted. They had spotted a few other pokemon along the way but nothing too special to note. but then as the younger two maximals caught up, "VIGOROTH! roared a booming voice strong enough to shake the ground.
"Whoa! What the scrap is that?!" Shadefang exclaimed, not expecting something to jump him that fast.
"Noxiwing! Scan this mon!" Kung Feather ordered with urgency.
Noxiwing did it as quickly as possible as a creature who looked very similar to Slakoth came out of the bushes and trees swinging around its arm in a wild manner. It was 4ft7, white fur with two brown stripes on its back. A large red tuft of hair on its forehead with big brown lips and sharp fangs. Brown rings around its eyes, a red nose, with red paws on its hands where sharp claws resided. Vigoroth, as it was called, was yelling its name loudly as he flailed about recklessly forcing the Maximals to give it space. But then it roared again causing an Uproar as suddenly all of the Maximals were hit by a sound blast. It wasn't the most painful or harmful attack but it was still hard on the audio processors.
"Oh, Primus! My audio processors will hurt for a cycle or two!" Frostshell groaned. "I think we're gonna have to take this thing down!"
"It's called Vigoroth! It's an evolution of Slakoth with ten times the heart rate! Its blood pumps so fast it can barely sleep with how much energy it has. Can't even stay still when eating!" Noxiwing yelled over the mon's boisterous attack.
"We have to subdue it without hurting it!" Kung Feather shouted. "Any ideas?!"
"You gotta be kidding me!" Shadefang yells back, "You want us to try to take it down without fighting it!?"
Just as Shadefang says that Vigoroth suddenly notices the four again and sets its eyes on Shadefang before suddenly rushing on over yelling loudly. "Oh heap!" he curses as Vigoroth yells and glows slightly pink and starts to Play Rough with an actual cartoon cloud popping up around the crazy sloth mon and Shadefang as the Maximal cries out in incredible pain.
Kung Feather transformed to his Blaziken mode, jumped up and performed a Peck to the Vigoroth, managing to knock it off Shadefang. "Shadefang, are you alright?!"
"Why did that hurt so much!?" Shadefang yells in shock as he struggles to get back up.
Vigoroth!" the short terror roars as energy flames rose around it, its eyes now looking way more focused as it goes and attacks Kung Feather. Instinctively the Maximal felt his body move on its own and dodged a Fury Swipes each one aimed for a weak spot in his armor. Seemed this creature wasn't just a wild berserker as it first appeared.
"Let's try to divide its attention! Noxiwing! Frostshell! Get on opposite sides of it and distract it!" Kung Feather ordered.
"Third Stage!" Noxiwing yells as he turns into his Robot Dustox Mode while Frostshell simply runs to where he was needed. The two then tapped into their respective powers their body's programming and instincts telling them what to do. With a blast of psychic energy Noxiwing fires off a wave of confusion while Frostshell manages an Icy Wind. The two combined blasts hit Vigoroth making them cry out in pain and immediately making them turn around and glare at the two assailants.
"Good job, you two! Shadefang, if you can, assist me and deal more damage!" Kung Feather instructed, albeit a little softer as Shadefang was hurt.
"I'll try!" Shadefang replies as he gets up, now growling in an almost feral manner from both pain and anger.
"VIGOROTH!" the beast then roars again hitting everyone with an Uproar again but this time the four manage to brace themselves and endure the sound blast and as it was busy using the long term attack both Shadefang and Kung Feather go in for another attack.
Shadefang hit the Vigoroth with a Tackle knocking it off balance for a nano-klik, darting away before the Vigoroth could unleash another attack on him, giving Kung Feather the chance he needed to as he performed a Fire Punch, hitting it square in the chest, sending it back a couple of feet. The Vigoroth panted before getting up and roaring again. "We need to do more damage! Let's try all four of us attacking it at once!"
"VIGOROTH!" the pokemon roars again making everyone have to focus once more but yet again they were ready to fight back again as they powered through the pain. Shadefang attacks first kicking the ground and using Sand Attack hitting the short terror's eyes making it stop its Uproar as it cried out in irritation. Kung Feather then took in a deep breath as his wrists lit on fire, Noxiwing focused again on his psychic power, while Frostshell focused on using a stronger ice attack.
When the wild mon got the sand out of its eyes it then witnessed a flamethrower and a freeze-dry fly towards it while being charged and controlled by a confusion. Instinctively Vigoroth crossed their arms in front of themselves as they glowed deep red. The triple attack hit Vigoroth full on the collision causing a good size explosion. The four then waited for the results as the dust cloud slowly disbursed. But then, "VIGOROTH!" the short mon roars as it flails its arm with incredible power blowing away the dust. It had Endured the attack like a champ before it then began to rush forwards towards the four one arm glowing orange the other flowing white as it used both Flail and Reversal at the same time.
"MOVE!" Kung Feather shouted loudly and the four moved out of the way of the Vigoroth's attack. "We need to hit it again together!"
"How are we gonna do that with it swinging its arms like that?!" Shadefang yelled incredulously.
"We'll have to subdue it before we take it down!" Kung Feather responded. "Form up, Maximals! We have to distract it, then hit it one more time!"
"I'm game for that!" Frostshell agreed. Vigoroth turns around with surprising swiftness as it sprinted towards the four again making them dodge once more the two arms almost hitting Shadefang and Noxiwing respectively, the attacks making their sensors burn bright with fright. Getting hit by either arm would not be good.
"Alright! Let's do it!" Blaziken performed another Flamethrower, hitting it with a torrent of fire while Shadefang did Sand Attack again which hit Vigoroth's eyes, making it wince in pain. Noxiwing and Frostshell took this opportunity to unleash Poison Sting and Powder Snow respectively, hitting the opponent with poison and ice. The Vigoroth almost went down, but it still refused to accept defeat. "Keep pouring it on!"
Vigoroth swing both arms with all of its might blocking most of the damage but it was only a matter of time before, BOOOOOOOM the attacks all detonated rocking the area a little bit and as the cloud cleared Vigoroth was still found standing but also quite still. Everyone stood their ground nervously before Noxiwing carefully took a few steps forward and scanned the creature's vitals. "It... It passed out on its feet." he then stated, astonished by the creature's fighting spirit.
"Wow, that is not something I ever expected to see." Shadefang panted, his systems refocusing on the pain he felt. "Beast Mode." He transformed into his Poochyena form so his pain can disappear faster.
"Regardless, good teamwork, everyone." Kung Feather complimented. "We keep this up, we'll be able to gain energy to reawaken our comrades in the pods we have."
"Think the humans will be helpful? They were for the Autobots." Noxiwing then asks.
"I don't know. Remember, this isn't the same Earth from the Autobot texts. Regardless, we will protect this world, with or without their help." Kung Feather said.
"Would still be nice to get help." Shadefang points out, "I mean it'd make it easier to find our alternate forms and they have a right to know about the danger." he adds.
"I agree with Shadefang. However, we can't really reveal ourselves willingly. The Predacons would target them if that were the case." Frostshell brought up.
"It will be a balancing act for sure, but Predacons will attack humans as well as Pokemon regardless of our actions." Kung Feather explains.
"Fair enough, but we have our mission: To protect this world and stop the Predacons' schemes." Frostshell gained a grin.
The four nod their heads as they finally exit the forest but not before Noxiwing spotted a winged bug with red, blue, and yellow spots on its wings, and a gray and black color pattern everywhere else. While having giant blue eyes. His scanners going wild Noxiwing smiles as he changes into beast mode stage three and flies over to the Beautifly to scan its data finishing his collection.
"There he goes." Shadefang shook his head, chuckling at his comrade's actions. "So, shall we continue?"
Kung Feather looks out at the fields in front of them. Tall grass, a distant beach, and an even further sea. Plus signs of a city nearby, "We need a plan first. If we are going into civilization then we must be prepared."
"How exactly do we do that?" Shadefang asked. "I don't think Frostshell's beast mode is a regular sight in this part of Earth."
"Exactly. We need to know what will be a normal sighting in the city and what won't be. Meaning we'll need to split up." Kung Feather explains.
"Agreed." Frostshell voiced. "So, who's gonna go where?"
"It's as I said. We need to find that out." Kung Feather explains as he and the others soon settled down near the forest. "We'll first rest up for a bit and then explore the fields and nearby the town while exercising caution. Once we've confirmed who here has the normal pokemon form we'll send them into the city to gather more info and the ones left behind will go back to the ship."
"Sounds good to me." Shadefeang smiled.
Just then, Noxiwing appeared in his Dustox form. "Sorry about that, guys. I just completed Wurmple's second evolutionary line. So, who's going to investigate what?"
"Me and Frostshell stand out too much. Your Wurmple form and Shadefang's Poochyena form are much smaller and far better suited with searching around while not looking out of place." Kung Feather explains.
"Sound logic." Noxiwing nodded. "Beast Mode: First Stage." He transformed to his Wurmple form to blend in better while Shadefang was already in his beast form still. "Alright, Shadefang. Let's go."
"Ugh, right now? That vigoroth got me good." Shadefang admits.
"What do you think, Kung Feather? Shadefang is still hurt. Should we continue with the investigation or should we hold off until we're all fully healed?" Noxiwing questioned.
"We are still trying to understand these forms and how this world works. We should probably rest for now." Kung Feather admits. "This world, it flows with all sorts of energy. I can see why the Predacons would be so interested in it." he then noted.
"Then, let's take a rest right here, but hidden." Frostshell said. "As you just said, we need the recharge."
With that the Maximals' first adventurous journey in the pokemon world has come to an end. They've learned of evolution and how it responds to their transformer bodies. Along with starting to understand the potential of their new powers and began tapping into their unique forms' moveset. Who knows what will happen to them next as the sun above moves onto the evening.
Hello, everyone. I hope you all liked this chapter of Pokeformers. This chapter was basically the four Maximals acclimating themselves with their surroundings and Noxiwing discovering he can scan the other stages of the Wurmple line. The first major challenge for the Maximals is them fighting and defeating a Vigoroth. After that, the four Cybertronians decide to investigate the town nearest to them which is Petalburg City, but then they decide to take a rest for now.
