A/N: Hello beautiful people!
Once again, I got a little late with the chapter. And I would be lying if I said this won't happen again. I've been very busy with school and work. But I think the next one will be faster...
This chapter will be cut into 3 parts, probably. At first, I was separating it into 2, but I was seeing my chapters and I think they are getting a little too big, no? So, I thought it would be better to cut it into more parts.
So, here it is.
Warnings, as always:
- English is not my first language. So, feel free to warn me of any mistake you find along the way.
- You can also find it on Archive of Our Own and under the same name. So, you can choose whichever platform you're more comfortable with.
- No Smut. But be aware of bad language.
Laugh resonated in the big white workshop room, empty of life if it wasn't for the two boys sitting on the white L-shaped couch. Chairs and packs of bottles of juices and water were stocked against the walls, and a small grey desk, matching the couch, was next to them with some papers on top of it and some backpacks laying against it.
"Meung, it's really good to catch up with you."
Chimon laughed.
"Being with me is always a pleasure, yes."
Nanon smiles back with his dimples showing and shook his head.
"Nanon. Actually, I've been meaning to ask you something…"
Nanon got up, making his way to the pack of juices stacked in a corner of the room.
"Do you think we can take two? Ha, who cares?" Nanon talked more to himself than to Chimon, piercing the plastic wrap with his finger.
He returned with two bottles of juice, one of which he threw to Chimon.
"Spit it out then! What's on your mind?"
Chimon caught the bottle mid-air and opened the lid to start drinking.
"What's up with you and Ohm?"
Nanon gasped at the juice, coughing a little.
"What do you mean? We've already talked about it. We're fading out the ship. That happens with many ships. We need to focus on our individual careers."
Chimon pressed his lips together and shook his head.
"That's not what I meant. I can understand that. I'm talking about your relationship. Off cameras, you also seem more distant… Not distant exactly." Chimon broke his speech to search for the proper words, "You seem to try to be as distant as possible, and when you cannot, you kind of seem embarrassed and don't know how to act around each other anymore."
"You are exaggerating!" Nanon dismissed what his friend said, shaking his head.
"Especially Ohm. But you are no better." continued Chimon, not paying attention to the dismissal of Nanon, "You try all your best to stay away from him and even avoid talking about him. But then cannot help yourself from laughing and smiling when he is around or even when someone tells something about him." he paused, looking at Nanon.
Anticipating his response, he hurriedly added to the sentence, "Even when it is not funny!"
Nanon looked down at his feet. His toes were rubbing the floor, and he had what seemed like a sad smile on his face. So, Chimon took his hand to Nanon's shoulder and squeezed.
"Did you guys have a fight? Is that why you are acting like this?"
Nanon shook his head.
"No."
"So, what's the deal?"
Nanon got up and laughed.
"There's no deal!"
Chimon didn't seem convinced. He watched while Nanon leaned against the wall with a forced relaxed look.
"Do you want to know what is weirder?" Chimon's smile was back on his face with a slight twist of worry, "Just sometime before this change, you seemed very closed. More than usual. You spent a lot of time together, sometimes even seemed you were living together minding the frequency you were sleeping in his house."
A rush of memories crossed Nanon's head. He has been trying almost every day to not think back about those days.
"Well, we did spend a few months in the same house."
"Months?"
Nanon nodded.
"Hum… Almost three."
Chimon's eyes widened, but wasn't too long until his face turned angry.
"I knew it!" he slapped his leg with his hand, "I and Perth were wondering just that. And that fucking Perth… I bet he figured it out already and didn't tell me!"
Nanon's heart skipped a beat.
"He figured it out?!"
"Yes! That you were living together. Every time Perth went to Ohm's, you were there, and every time I went to your house, you weren't there. Your mom seemed a bit worried about something."
"Did she?"
Nanon's hands were already wet, and his heart started beating faster. It seemed closer to his throat, making his breathing challenging.
"Guess she can't live without her baby boy!"
Chimon laughed and continued talking, completely unaware of the state in which Nanon was.
"The biggest question is how you handled everything without killing each other!" still ignorant of Nanon's condition, Chimon started teasing him, "Maybe you had a new way of solving your divergences? Did you guys kiss and make up? Or maybe make out?"
Chimon's laughter echoed in Nanon's mind.
He knows! He knows!
Perth knows! Ma knows!
They know!
Ma is disappointed!
Everyone knows!
Ohm!
Everyone knows!
I miss Ohm so much!
I can't be with him anymore!
Everyone knows!
My career is destroyed! I'll never again get another job!
I miss Ohm!
Ma will never look at me again! I'm wasting my career! I will never get to be a director, I will never get another job, and nobody will want to hire me!
EVERYONE KNOWS!
The sweat was sticking to his skin, and breathing was not possible anymore. His heart was clogging his throat, not letting in any air. He was drowning… His chest was crushed.
I'm going to die!
"Nanon! You're having a panic attack. Remember how to breathe."
With his blurred vision, he saw Ohm in front of him, his hands holding him sitting on the ground.
He tried to control his breathing many times without success. It seemed to have passed a lifetime until his throat started to open. Little by little, his vision became less blurred and his brain more organized. He leaned against the wall, his heart still beating strong against his chest.
"Do you have your SOS?"
Chimon was looking at him in the place where Ohm was supposed to be. He watched as Chimon went through his bag with fast movements.
"Chi, I'm fine now. I don't need it."
He felt the hard and cold floor under him. The strong wall supported his back while he tried to get up.
"Wait, let me help you."
Chimon grabbed his hand and his waist, bringing and laying him down on the couch.
"Non, is there anything I can do?"
Nanon liked Chimon so much. He wouldn't freak out, he would just ask the right question. He was always there, ready to worry about him. He smiled, feeling his friend cleaning his wet face, either from the tears or the sweat.
"Chi…"
"Tell me."
"Was Ohm here?"
Chimon confusion already gave him the answer he was expecting. Nanon sighed.
"Ohm?!"
"I guess not… Can I just sleep a little?"
Chimon stroke his hair softly.
"Do you want me to call Ohm?"
Nanon got startled.
"No, Chimon! Please don't!"
Chimon rose his hands, shaking them.
"Don't worry, don't worry! I won't."
Nanon laid back down.
"No need to call him, okay?"
"Okay, I won't."
Chimon was worried and confused. Nanon could see that. But he was feeling drained like the life was sucked out of him. His eyes were heavy, and his head was hurting a little. The image of Ohm holding him was the last thing he saw before his eyes closed.

A loud noise of something falling and laughter were what woke Nanon up. The light entered his eyes and allowed him to search for Chimon, who was running towards him with a smile on his face, closing the door behind him.
When he saw Nanon awake, his face was splashed with guilt.
"I'm sorry, Non. I was outside, and to be able to see you, I didn't close the door. Are you all right?"
He sat down next to him.
"I'm fine. No worries. Did I sleep too much?"
"No," replied Chimon, shaking his head, "practically 2h."
"Sorry, you had to wait so much."
Nanon started to get up.
"No, no, Nanon! You can sleep more."
Nanon smiled, his hand resting on Chimon's shoulder in a tranquillizing way.
"I have rested enough. I'm feeling much better. Sorry about this. I haven't had a panic attack for so long. This just came out of nowhere. Lately, I was able to control them. But today, I don't know what happened…"
Chimon was looking worried. They looked at each other for some seconds.
"Is there something you would like to tell me? I would like you to not keep everything for yourself. Don't push it down in you, talk it out. If not with me, with somebody else. But talk, Nanon."
Chimon hugged him, squeezing him to his chest.
"Chi…"
"Don't shut yourself down. Don't you trust me? Did I do something that made you think I'm not trustworthy? Sometimes, I tease a lot, I–"
Nanon pushed him away from himself and smacked his head.
"What are you saying, Ai'Chimon? Of course, I do trust you."
Chimon took his own hand to his head.
"Ai'sat, did you need to be that expressive?"
Nanon laughed. He really wanted to share it with Chimon. Ohm was gone, there was nobody he could speak to about this, and there was nobody present in this with him.
"Chi, if I tell you, you can't tell anyone. Not a soul, not even to the walls. Do you understand that? And you have to be very discrete about this."
"Of course, Nanon!"
Nanon was starting to feel nervous, his heart beating faster.
"Yes, maybe it's better to take the SOS pill."
They laughed it off, while Nanon took a small pill.
"Is it that serious, Nanon? What happened?"
After a few seconds, Nanon started.
"I and Ohm weren't living together per se, but yes, we basically shared the same house for those months. Obviously, we fought a lot, and you were right: we did had a new way of solving our fights."
"Okay… What?"
Nanon felt his heart beating fast as the answer was coming, but he gasped at it. Chimon adjusted his position as Nanon stood up.
"Aham…"
He looked at Chimon as asking for help.
"So this is going to be a puzzle then…"
Nanon laughed softly, pacifying his heart. He stayed quiet, waiting for Chimon to make the first move.
"Okay! You fought a lot, but you had a new way of solving your fights, and that allowed you to live with each other longer. But maybe there was a bigger fight that made you angry at each other."
"No, Chi. We are not angry at each other."
"A fight that made you stop living together, then."
Nanon started pacing from side to side.
"We were not living together, just staying together. And we didn't stop because we had a fight."
"So, why are you so distant?"
Nanon looked at Chimon with a smile and continued pacing without giving him an answer.
"Right…" Chimon scratched his head, not knowing where to go from here, "Let's start from the beginning." he started to enumerate the facts with his fingers, "You liv– stayed together. For how long, you said?"
"Almost three months."
"Right, you stayed at the same house for almost three months. Since when you started–... Hum… That arrangement?"
Nanon smiled again, remembering the first time this all thing started.
"Since our fan meeting here in Thailand."
"All right! So, you stayed together for almost three months after your first fan meeting. In the fan meeting, you cried and everything." Chimon started thinking out loud, "Did you fight… No, that wouldn't make sense because you stayed together for longer… But you fought, right?"
Nanon laughed softly.
"Yes, we fought all the time. He's totally impossible…"
He liked this. He hasn't talked about Ohm for so long... Hell! He hasn't allowed himself even to think about Ohm for so long. It felt good. It felt good talking about him and remembering him… And them.
"Sometimes he's the most self-centred asshole, the most annoying human being with stupid car bed sheets, so perfectly put, so clean and smelling so good…" He felt his heart being crumpled like an old piece of paper.
Chimon found the way Nanon talked about Ohm a little weird, but he couldn't understand even what was weird about it.
"So, a fight wasn't the reason why you separate. But you fought a lot of times… However! Because of that new way of stopping the fights. That new way…"
Chimon observed Nanon. He was without a smile on his face, his breathing quicker than before, his pupils slightly dilated.
"This is the thing, right? The answer? That way of stopping the fights is what makes you so nervous… It is serious."
Nanon was getting more anxious. But not the same kind of anxiety he had before. This was more of a mild feeling between being afraid of people finding out and desperately wanting Chimon to find out.
"Something new that solves your fights. Did you like... Killed a guy or hurt somebody?"
Nanon smiled in disbelief, but Chimon continued looking at him.
"Were you guys committing crimes together?"
Nanon laughed still in disbelief, yet Chimon's interrogative expression didn't change.
"C'mon, meung! Are you serious? What crimes! Are you crazy?"
Chimon's eyes opened in desperation.
"I. Don't. Know! For you to be so nervous, I thought you guys were killing and dismembering people, hiding their parts in the ocean… I don't know. Your puzzles are not very easy, okay? Having to force the truth out of you with irons is not child's play! Saraleo! Making me do all this crap… You don't pay me enough for this!"
Nanon laughed at this very pissed Chimon. He was not able to take him seriously when he was angry because he just seemed very funnily looking for him. Chimon shook his head in exasperation.
"Okay, so nothing that is a crime?"
"No. It's not a crime. Though people won't probably be that happy about it. But not a crime."
"What ways do people have to solve fights?" Chimon pressed his lips together, thinking about possibilities, "Talk it out, about their feelings…"
Nanon thought a bit about it.
"Yeah, actually… I think so…"
"But that's not exactly a new way., and it certainly doesn't seem to me that people would mind."
"Well…"
A/N: For now, that's it. I'll be adding more next weekend I hope.
Let's talk a little about anxiety. My Nanon has anxiety and in this chapter, he has a panic attack. I've never had one, fortunately, though I struggle with anxiety and there was a time I was medicated for that (even now, I take it when my anxiety picks up and I'm having a difficult time controlling it any other way).
I just wanted to say that your best friend should be the person that will spend more time with you which is definitely yourself. So, be kind to yourself and others.
Thank you so much for adding my ff to your personal lists and for the votes! I really appreciate it.
Hope you continue to enjoy it! Be free to vote and "scream" at me in the comment section. It really helps with the writing.
I hope you find a little bit of happiness in my work.
