Brad laughs as he looks over a red hotel. He then flicks it off of the game board. "Mr. Barkie stays for free!" He plants down the dog piece, Jenny, Amy, her sisters, and Tuck staring at the board. "Lucky for me, your hotel fell into a sink hole."
"Ah, but you forgot about my other hotel."
"What?!" Brad looks down in alarm, but doesn't see another hotel. "What other hotel?"
"Right over here!" He slams down the table to make the hotel flip back onto the board...
"Hey, I saw that, you little cheat!" Brad accuses him, clenching his fists. Tuck looks away, crossing his arms.
"I don't know what's worse, the fact that he named his piece Mr. Barkie or that they're arguing over this," Amy comments to the others, a hand on her cheek. The others snort a bit, giggling at her remark to themselves.
"Cheat? You're the one who took two turns in a row!" Tuck argues back while Jenny is holding a can of oil.
"Ha! I took two turns because I rolled doubles!"
Tuck turns around to him after widening his eyes. "Oh, you rolled doubles? We're using a spinner!" He retorts while holding up the spinner. Jenny just rolls her eyes at the sibling argument. She's had her own spats with Amy, but this was just ridiculous...
"I'm gonna raid your pantry for snacks," Piri jumps off her chair and walks off, none of them paying attention to her.
"This from a guy who moves his thimble to the bonus square when I'm not looking!" Brad glares down at his brother.
"If you're looking, how would you know?" Tuck narrows his eyes back. Jenny and Amy go over to them to break them up.
"Time out, guys! Time out!" She uses a divider to split them up, Amy crossing her arms. "It's just a game, it's not worth fighting over."
"Jen's right, if my family fought over a game on Family Game Night, well...well, we wouldn't even have Family Game Night," Amy stumbles a bit as she glances away in thought. The only one person who gets bent up about the rules is Piri whenever she claims the game is rigged when she loses. But they usually just bribe her to make her stop or just go out for ice cream afterwards.
"Besides, according to rule 15, paragraph 2, you lose your turn for taking too long. I get a free bonus card and a free spin," Jenny spins the wheel before anyone can protest. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I win!" She cheers, Amy opening her mouth in disbelief.
"That...that's not the point I'm trying to make..." Amy stammers while twitching an eye at Jenny's logic. Everyone stares down at her piece in silence.
"Oh no you don't, bolt brain!" Brad glares at her, not liking what she did.
"Hey, as a person who uses a metal suit with bolts in them, that's a hurtful stereotypical nickname," Amy holds her head up high.
"Whatever!"
"You're not winning on a technicality!" Tuck seems to agree with his brother.
"Yeah! We want a rematch, aluminum butt!" Brad declares to the smug Jenny.
"Anytime, anyplace chump," Jenny eggs them on and Amy facepalms.
"Guys, come on, it's just a game," Emily rolls her eyes in annoyance.
"Maybe we should go over the rules again," Claudia looks at the back of the box while Piri walks out of the pantry holding a bunch of cookies.
"You're out of cookies!"
Amy lets her head hit the table in exasperation. "Noooo. Oh my god, you guys are not helping at all," She groans into the table, her face completely hidden. Suddenly Jenny's pigtails go crazy and Amy's brooch goes off. A screen from Jenny's arm comes up as Amy stands in relief.
"Uh-oh, hold on. It's a distress call from out beyond Jupiter."
"Thank goodness," Amy murmurs in relief for the distraction, because she really doesn't want to get back into the game and have to listen to this.
"Looks like that rematch will have to wait," She explains to the angry-looking boys.
"What? That old excuse?" Brad asks in annoyance and Amy taps her brooch to make a hologram of the planet come up.
"Does this look like an excuse to you?"
"Oh no, I want my rematch now!" Tuck demands the two and Amy pulls Jenny away a bit.
"Look, we don't have time for this. Can we just go? All of this over a game that we can't comprehend the rules for," She rolls her eyes to the back of her head. Jenny just moves past her to go back to Brad and Tuck.
"Hey, hey, we're busy superheroes," She gestures to herself and Amy. "We have someone to rescue. We can't stand around arguing with you guys all day." She walks off and Amy follows her. She then pops back in with a smug smile. "Besides, I already won," She then grabs Amy's hand and runs off, annoying the others.
"I'm more annoyed that they left more so than Jenny won," Emily comments with a blank tone.
"What? Why aren't you guys bothered by it?" Brad gestures to Jenny and Amy.
"Yeah! It's not fair!" Tuck adds while nodding in agreement.
"If it was fair, it wouldn't be fun for us on Family Game Night," Piri scoffs while crossing her arms. "Duh."
"Why get hung up over a technicality?" Claudia shrugs it off. "Besides-WAIT a minute!" She points to Amy's rigged money pile. "Did she have more money than she showed us?! That's it, we need that rematch!"
Jenny and Amy fly side by side in space. "Bolt brain!" Amy blinks at the familiar insult, but says nothing.
"Robo cheaters!" Jenny is a bit confused by Tuck's voice next.
"Aluminum butt!"
"Amy, you come back here and answer for what you've done!" Amy is baffled to hear Claudia, who was defending her and Jenny earlier.
"You have some explaining to do!" Emily adds in and the brunette blinks in confusion.
"Ha ha, yeah..." Piri states nervously, the two glancing back to see the five following them as they're magnetic to their bodies in little pods.
"Serio-you followed us out here?" Amy asks the group in disbelief that they're still that hung up over it. "And what happened to 'it's just a game' or 'out of cookies'?" She narrows her eyes at her sisters, who all blow a raspberry at her.
"Look, I told you guys I didn't wanna argue about this!"
"No, you didn't," Tuck speaks up in a smart aleck way. "You said you didn't wanna stand around and argue. We're clearly not standing, that's why we borrowed these suits."
"Really?" Amy rolls her eyes at his logic, wondering if this is really worth following them for.
"Yes, really! You cheated!" Claudia points at her sister, who raises a brow slowly.
"I know you're not calling me a cheater," She retorts back with a glare.
"Borrowed? Is that what you're calling it?" Jenny narrows her eyes suspiciously.
Brad scoffs from the accusation. "Are you suggesting that they were stolen?"
"Well, they didn't magically appear," Tuck looks away with a blank look.
"You mean like your hotels?" Jenny asks in annoyance and Amy groans, looking away.
"Don't get him started on that again..."
"Hey, that was a legitimate..." He freezes as he catches a whiff of something and smells the atmosphere. "Ugh, what's that awful smell?"
"Probably you. He who smelt it dealt it," Piri retorts to him.
"I did not!" He turns to yell at her.
"Uhh...I don't smell anything," Brad blushes in embarrassment as he looks away. Emily and Piri just stare at him, moving away a little.
"It's coming from that asteroid!" And by asteroid, he means the giant red rock that's in their direction. Jenny looks at her scanner from her wrist.
"So is the distress signal," She gives herself a boost, Amy doing the same as they all land safely, taking a look around.
"Man, this place is a dump!" Tuck comments as they're literally standing in a galactic dump. "Literally." A ship comes in and dumps trash all over it. They all recoil back in disgust from the smell that's coming from the pile of trash. "Thank goodness it didn't land on us." A second later, some of it is dumped onto him, and they look up to see a cat alien dumping out its litter box. He then uses his leg to get the rest off the ship. "The first one to crack a joke gets a kick in the shin," He speaks up as he walks off.
"Boo!" Piri jeers at him, Amy nudging her a bit.
"Because when you say something stupid like 'well, at least it didn't land on us', it's like asking for it to land on you," Brad retorts as they follow Jenny and Amy as they have the signals.
"And I suppose I was 'asking' for you to steal my 'get out of the slammer free' card too!" Tuck retorts to his brother, Jenny and Amy annoyed that they're back to this again...meanwhile, none of them realize that someone is actually watching them walk around.
"Help, help!" The scanners go off. "I'm trapped underneath a pile of garbage! It has a pink ribbon on top." The pile just happens to be right in front of them. "Yes, that's right! That one right there. Hurry, please! I'm running out of er, oxygen!"
"She sounds cute," Brad smiles, hoping to flirt with her.
"Of course you use this as an opportunity to flirt," Claudia pinches her nose.
"She sounds familiar," Tuck raises a brow, hands on his hips.
"And this sounds like a wash! How does she know what pile of garbage she's underneath in? She wouldn't be able to describe it if she's buried underneath a bunch of dirt. And plus, it's a pile of garbage, how unescapable could it be?" Amy gestures to the pile. Nevertheless, Jenny sticks her hand in.
"She sounds like she's in trouble." Something hits her arm and when she pulls it out, she finds a fake bomb with a mouth drawn onto it.
"Help, help!" The mouth comes alive as an evil laugh is heard.
"What the heck is this thing?" Jenny wonders before it actually bites her. She yelps in pain and drops it onto the ground near Amy's foot. She then gets bitten as well and she kicks it away, yelping in pain. The bomb gains spider legs and blows a raspberry, crawling away with a big grin. It goes up to a giant circle, which turns around to reveal a shadow. And that shadow is Vexus herself!
"Vexus!" Jenny and Amy exclaim in unison.
"Yes, that's right, Vexus," She holds up her pet. "Vexus, Lexus," She coos at it before smirking evilly at the girls. "It's been a long time, XJ9 and Amelia."
"Not long enough," Jenny declares and forms some blades, but they immediately rust up, including her body. Amy gasps at her before her suit does the same thing.
"Oh no," Amy murmurs in worry before they both fall to the ground near the others.
"Yes, my Snookums' bite does cause paralysis, paralyzing paralysis, but it only lasts a short time," Vexus explains as she gestures around her. Suddenly there are more as she gestures to the army. "Luckily I have a few more."
"Yikes!" The others screech and run off past the two on the ground.
"Hey!" Jenny calls out in protest.
"You can't just leave us here!" Amy glares in annoyance, not able to move at all to take the suit off. They come back and start pulling at them.
"They're too heavy!" Tuck strains out as they all pull but aren't getting any results.
"I thought you were gonna off the metal oil shakes or the malts!"
"What are you saying?" Jenny asks in disbelief and they flip them over.
"No, absolutely not," Amy protests at her sisters.
"Well, we don't have a choice," Emily argues down at her.
"Unless you want to be left behind," Piri raises a brow and before Amy can protest, Piri sits on her back and slides down the dirt. The others are pushing Jenny and Amy along while the robot dog army follows them. Brad jumps onto Jenny while Emily and Claudia leap onto their sister. They all sled down a dirt hill, the girls screaming as they can feel the dirt scraping against their chins.
"I hate this! Rusted metal and scraped dirt do not mix!" She calls out in protest over the screaming, although Tuck and Piri are more excited about it.
"Let's take these things on the dive and run!"
"Are you kidding?" Brad frowns while glancing behind him. "We have to get up to higher ground!"
"Whatever!" Jenny calls out from below. "Just slow down!"
"Right!" Tuck calls out, leaning one way, but his brother leans the opposite.
"Left!"
"Look out!" Jenny shouts as a bunch of craters are in the distance.
"Can we just agree on which direction to go in before I end up dead in a metal-forming suit?!" Amy shouts to the two boys.
"Says the cheater!" Emily points down at her and she glares up at her sister.
"Not now!" They slide off the hill, screaming as they head for the bottom of the craters. A ship comes in to dump more garbage, which they land in.
"Ah, decomposing sewage never smelt so sweet," Brad says happily before Tuck comes up underneath him.
"Ow, you landed right on me!" He complains up at his brother. The three sisters land on the side with groans.
"That hurt..."
"Not as much as our sister cheating," Claudia points out to Piri.
"What are you gonna go, charge me rent again?" Brad glares down at him. Jenny and Amy pop up from underneath them.
"Hey, you're looking better," Tuck comments as both of them have pieces of garbage over their faces that make them look ridiculous. Jenny shakes it off, Amy groaning in disgust.
"Thank god this landed over my face and not inside the suit..." She whines as she wipes it off, gagging. The distress signal just had to be out in space, in a garbage disposal planet...All of them help to pull out Jenny and Amy.
"Oh...something's still wrong," Jenny tells them as something feels off.
"That thing left part of its stinger in your hand," Brad explains as there's a tiny splinter of sorts in Jenny's finger. Claudia examines Amy for similar injuries, but she doesn't have any.
"Now what are we supposed to do?" Tuck laments as they're completely surrounded by garbage. "You're our ride home!"
"How should I know?" Jenny defends, Amy rubbing a temple.
"I thought you had all the answers, Ms. I Read the Rules!" Brad places his hands on his hips.
"Yeah and I don't wanna go home with a cheater," Emily crosses her arms, glaring at Amy.
"You guys wanna tell me what the heck you're trying to tell me?" Amy glares at Emily as not once they've actually elaborated on that. A shadow looms over them and they scream as they recognize it.
"Smythus!"
While scrambling away, they bump into the girls, knocking them down. "This way!" The brothers point in opposite directions. "No, this way!"
"We don't have time to argue!" Jenny yells up at them.
"Is that in the rulebook?" Brad retorts while getting into Tuck's face.
"Oh, come on!" Amy shouts in exasperation.
"Seriously, this is getting old," Claudia rolls her eyes at the duo.
"Just admit you're wrong, Cheaty Petey!"
Jenny pops in between them. "Look out!" She screeches as suddenly there's an explosion. Smythus is firing a giant missile laser pointer, everyone running away from him. He fires in front of the group to make a hole appear and they all fall through. Smythus laughs as he hears them getting further away. All of them scream as they fall down, landing hard on the ground.
"Ow..." Amy murmurs in pain and Tuck looks up. He then turns to the side as they take a look around. There's an exit nearby, which they take and see that they're in a hole.
"Always making life...difficult," Brad complains as they carry Jenny and Amy up the pile.
"We didn't mean to get paralyzed," Jenny defends up to her friend. Amy holds her head up high.
"Besides, you always get a thrill when stuff like this happens with us. So stop complaining," She narrows her eyes at him.
"Well, it sure wasn't my idea to stick your hand down that hole," Tuck struggles to push her, Amy's sisters pulling Amy up the hill.
"Admit...you're...a cheater," Claudia wheezes out and Amy looks away in exasperation.
"Why would I admit to something I don't even have context about?" She raises a skeptical brow at them.
"Because...we don't know!" Emily exclaims, just as exasperated as her sister who wouldn't just admit to it. Brad looks up and gasps, the others doing the same one by one. They stare at a familiar figure in front of them.
"It's...it's...Krackus?"
He laughs evilly even though unlike Vexus and Smythus, clearly he's the odd one out. They bust out laughing but aimed in his direction.
"Cause the way you guys gasped, I thought it was like Vexus again!" Tuck comments to them with a smile.
"I know, totally!" Brad shrugs with a smug grin.
"Since when was he ever a legit threat?" Piri snorts while staring at him.
"Even when he's come close, he's too scatterbrained to actually succeed," Claudia quips with a smirk.
"Yeah, because he's that dense," Emily chuckles as she tries to get her laughter out of her system.
"Hey, I only gasped because you gasped!" Jenny points out and Amy nods in agreement.
"You'd think it would be Smythus, but no! All of us gasped, wow. 7 times!"
"Well, what do you think, should we just go around?" Tuck asks the others.
"Huh, we could."
"I think we should just go down the way we came," Jenny points to the ground and they all leave him behind.
"Hey!" He protests as he watches them leave. "I'm just as dangerous as Smythus! Or Vexus! I'm a real threat. I'm the one you should be worried about!" He declares, even though they're ignoring him. "Huh, I'll show them," He presses a button from his remote, a metal door closing them off. A pipe suddenly captures both Amy and Jenny, capturing their arms as well. A mechanism comes in from behind, locking onto their head or helmet. The others all wince at this.
"Since I was banished from Cluster Prime, I've been trapped on this flithy asteroid, surrounded by nothing but trash and idiots," Vexus starts off to them from above.
"Hey!" Smythus calls out, offended by this.
"Someone of lesser fortitude would've been driven mad by now! Isn't that right, Mr. Billows?" She glances over to her minions.
"Which one of us is Billows?" Krackus whispers to Smythus, since...she knows their actual names.
"I thought you were Billows," Smyhus whispers back to him.
"I don't get it," Jenny starts off to Vexus. "Why can't you just fly off this rock?" One of them had to have a ship, since Vexus was destroyed when she tried taking over Tremorton. Or, alternatively, Vexus could use her wings to fly.
"Yeah, or even use one of those portals you summon with your hands?" Amy raises a confused brow.
"I can't fly, thanks to you!" Vexus then shows them her broken wings. "This is what happened last time we met."
"That's nothing," Smythus dismisses her wings. "Look at what those girls have done to Smythus!" He means his sludge-covered body. And his legs are basically scrawny metal tied together hastily. "Half of my beautiful body is nothing but used tongue depressors and rubber bands!"
"That's some of my best work, admittedly," Krackus speaks as he was the one who patched up Smythus. "But you try working with critters nesting inside you," He scratches the back of his head as mechanical rats appear.
"Wait a second, Krackus," Tuck stares up at him. "You can build an interstellar transmitter, a stasis field restraint, a set of cybernetic spider legs, all from garbage," He starts off as he's getting to the point. "But you can't build a spaceship to get off this asteroid?" He gives a blank look to the robot, Amy's sisters snickering to themselves.
"I can so build a spaceship out of garbage! It's the power supply that's the problem," He glances to a poor hamster running on a wheel. "But with XJ9 and Amelia captured, we have all the power we need!" He presses a button from his remote, stealing the power from the two.
"You monsters!" Brad declares angrily at them.
"Stop hurting them!" Piri screams in anger.
"You won't get away with this," Claudia narrows her eyes in rage.
"Yeah, they'll kick your butt like they always do," Emily crosses her arms in agreement.
"Bah!" He waves them off. "Once I've drained XJ9 and Amelia, we can fuel my spaceship and escape this garbage dump!"
"What?" Smythus asks angrily for some reason. "You said you were going to use the power to rebuild my body!" He holds up Krackus by the neck.
"My queen, talk some sense into this oaf!" Krackus cries out in pain.
"Silence!" She scolds them both. "There isn't going to be any spaceship or a new body. I'm diverting the power to a mega bomb! A bomb so mega, it will destroy this asteroid and everything on it! See?" She smiles while touching a garden gnome. "I hid it so no one would find it." The bomb...is underneath the gnome...because being on the asteroid for a prolonged period has definitely made her a bit loony. Both of them stare at her in silence for a few seconds.
"Uhh, but won't we be destroyed as well?" Smythus couldn't help but ask.
"Don't you think I thought of that?" She retorts to them, hands on her hips. "I built a lifeboat out of coffee cans and old office supplies! See?" She holds up a ship that's so small, it only fits in her hands. "It's even got a jacuzzi!" She smiles happily at them.
"Psst! Smythus, if you distract her, there's still time to divert the power to the spaceship," Krackus whispers to him. He growls at the offer, squeezing Krackus' neck a little. "To your body! I mean to build you a new body!"
"I'm through playing games with you!" He tossed Krackus away into a pile of garbage.
"You're through playing, are you?" Krackus glares at him, holding up his remote. "Then dance for me! Dance!" Because he built the legs, he has a remote to control them. He giggles in glee watching Smythus dance. Vexus hits him in the head from behind.
"Quit fooling around! You have to help me pick out curtains for the lifeboat," She holds up her model and the robot just stares at her for a few seconds.
"...What are you talk-"
Krackus gets grabbed by Smythus from behind. "No one makes a fool out of me!" He declares as the remote to control Smythus' legs goes flying.
"Get off of me, you spider-legged imbecile!" As the three argue, the group just stares up at them.
"Man, do they have some issues to work out," Jenny comments up at them.
"I certainly can't imagine being stuck with them," Amy rolls her eyes to the back of her head. The remote falls in front of the 7 and they all stare down at it. They glance at each other and then a timer goes off, stopping the arguing immediately.
"Oh, good. My bomb is done!" Vexus smiles and starts the timer for it for 4 minutes. "Looks like your time is up," She opens her eyes, gasping to see the 7 no longer down there. "They've escaped! They must be destroyed! There's no more room on the lifeboat!" She makes a break for it, even though she only has the model. Krackus is about to go after her when Smythus stops him.
"Wait. Why are we helping Vexus if she's only going to blow us all up?!"
"You fool! We still need XJ9 and Amelia's power!" Krackus scolds him as the trio chase after the group climbing up a pile of trash. They make it up to the top, running off while carrying Jenny and Amy on a structure.
"Quick, up here!" Brad pushes the duo in first through a hole, the rest jumping through.
'it's a dead end!" Tuck exclaims as the cave is blocked off at the end of it.
"Now what?" Piri exclaims in a panic.
"We're trapped!" Jenny points out as they glance behind them to see all the villains blocking the only way out. Vexus growls at her enemies and prepares a blaster.
"No! We still need their power!" Both Smythus and Krackus protest at her. It's honestly kind of astonishing that this was the only thing they could agree on. They push her to the ground just as she fires and they all duck. She hits the end of the cave...which causes a cave-in. All of them get pushed by the wave of trash, Krackus looking up.
"Oh bother..." he murmurs in worry, the rats coming up next to him and then running away. The trash wave knocks them all down, the friends popping out of it.
"We gotta get off this asteroid before it explodes!" Brad yells to everyone.
"We've got bigger things to worry about!" Tuck looks up at the giant wave of trash behind them.
"Yeah, like who's gonna pay for my dry-cleaning?!" Emily looks down at her ruined clothes.
"Not the point, Em, we're gonna die!" Claudia shoves her a bit.
"Not the point?!" Emily growls out in rage at her sister.
"Well, I think the whole asteroid exploding is slightly more important!" Brad argues between Jenny and Amy.
"If we don't outrun this avalanche, we're not gonna be around to see it!" Tuck points out angrily, both of them shoving each other while the two girls hide between them. Emily and Claudia start arguing next over Emily's clothes since Claudia doesn't seem to understand the problem.
"I'm here too!" Piri shouts out as she's not arguing with anyone. Eventually, the girls get fed up with all of this, shoving both arguing groups away from each other.
"Knock it off! We've got a plan, but we need your help, okay?" She glares at the both of them.
"And if you start arguing again, so help me, I will drop kick you into space!" Amy points out to the atmosphere. She readies her cannon to show them that she's not joking either.
"Got it."
"Yup."
"No arguments here."
"Anything to escape."
"We'll stop."
Amy smiles proudly at their quick agreement. The bomb, meanwhile, has less than 50 seconds. Jenny lifts up her foot, Brad extending it to ski equipment, Tuck doing the same thing. Amy's sisters gather around, taking her shoes and making them into a giant sled. Jenny connects her feet together, Amy doing the same. Both of them steady themselves while having the others ride them.
"I see one!" Tuck points up at a passing ship. "Veering three four niner zero!" Both of them take off, while having less than 30 seconds. The ship stops at the planet to dump out its garbage, the friends riding down the pile. They jump up as they have less than 15 seconds. The ship finishes and flies up to leave, the group going up a hill and gaining some air. Tuck grabs the back of the ship, Piri doing the same. Brad links with Claudia, who does the same with Emily, and they hang onto Jenny and Amy. They all beam at their teamwork, the two giving a thumbs up. 10 seconds are left and the hamster runs off in the model Vexus had...which is actually a working ship that leaves the planet behind! The gnome looks nervous as a few seconds later, it explodes, rending the planet to dust.
"Meow, meow, meow, meow," A cat alien that was using the ship they hitchhiked puts a game piece at the top of several hovering boards. "Alright! That'll be 50 glarpeks, pussycat."
"Meow, meow," The cat denies, crossing his arms. "Meow, meow, meow, meow."
"Oh, doubles? We're using a spinner!" Brad gestures to it as they're in the same exact situation as when they started this whole thing.
"Meow, meow, meow."
"Read the rules? None of us can read them!" Jenny defends to the cat alien.
Everyone starts arguing and Amy rubs a temple as the gnome flies off. "And you still haven't owned up to your cheating!" Emily accuses her oldest sister.
"Okay, time to tell me what the heck you're even talking about! I didn't cheat last time," Amy defends in exasperation while glaring at her.
"You had extra money! We saw your pile," Claudia crosses her arms.
"Claudia. I didn't have extra money. I was almost bankrupt and had to mortgage my properties," Amy defends and Claudia opens her mouth to argue when she flinches. There was actually one point where Amy had landed on Jenny's property and therefore barely had enough to stay in the game.
"...Well then if you weren't cheating, who was?" Emily asks as Piri sweats with wide eyes. The others flinch and turn to her as she laughs nervously.
"I...was strategizing! I earned that money fair and square, heh..."
"You were gonna let me take the fall because you hid extra money?!" Amy accuses her little sister, actually joining in on the arguing this time as all the Smiths start verbally fighting. Jenny sighs as she's now the only one who wants to keep the peace...
